well i was thinking about those 2 attacks. Soukidan was yamcha's special attack???? And it was a spirit bomb type right???? Also goku's genki-dama is also a spirit bomb type right??? So i know the spirit bomb depends on how the planet size AND how much livings. The one thing i need to know is this. Does the Genki-dama do more damage then the soukidan???

yes, the genki dama does more damage than yamucha's attack, actually yamucha's attack isn't really a genki dama, it's just a normal charged up attack, son gokou's move, the genki dama, draws energy from all living things before launching it as an attack, it is FAR more powerful than yamucha's move....

Heck yeah. If Yamucha's move was more damaging, he would have been the one to defeat Buu or any of the other super villains for that matter. ;)

G/S/B Master aaaaaah don't mangle Simpsons quotes like that! Anyway sure yamcha's 'spirit bomb' isn't the strongest move....um....ever, but it is cool/original how he can control its movements. Goku can move his kamehameha somewhat, but not the same as Yamcha...well either way he's a wimp I guess.

That, and it will only harm evil things

How could you ask something like that. Yamcha's attack is based on his own energy and yamcha isn't a factor when it comes to being strong! lol

That, and Yamcha can control his move. Goku just throws it, and says" I hope it hits him. "

if both the moves were done by goku, which would be more powerful?

The Genki-Dama would still be more powerful. As it has been said, it draws a bit of energy from all living things, whereas the other attack would just be coming from Gokou. That, and Yamcha can control his move. Goku just throws it, and says" I hope it hits him. "I haven't seen it not hit its target yet.

Goku is more deadly if he battles someone on the sun.Because the sun's flares counts as a living right??? Also the sun is huge star but has some surfaces. So Genki-dama has MORE then enough to destroy a planet.

And he does not have to be on the sun in order to draw energy from it. Remember on Namek when he created the Genmki-Dama against Furiza he drew it from the whole Namekian solar system. This is why King Kai told Gokou to be careful using the Genki-Dama when a sun is present, cause they hold a lot of power.

It missed Vegeta when he first used it. Kurririn or Gohan had to deflect it in order to make it hit Vegeta

Doesn't it all depend on how big da planet is an what lives/grows on it?-Spirit bomb And it moves too slow,.... but, of course, Yamcha's move is just plain out too weak....

The size of the planet means nothing. The power of the Genki Dama depends on the total concentration of life on a planet. It doesn't really matter though, seeing as Gokou can use energy from distant planets as well, later in the series. With the potential this move possesses, it is pointless to compare it to Yamucha's move. Why? Because it's more powerful than any move. Period.

it doesn't sap the user's strength, it uses strength from other stuff, trees, plants, living being, etc.
the strength used to throw the genki dama depends on the strength of the user....
son gokou summons it in his normal state, but transforms to ssj3 to throw it at buu....

I was always wondering about that, because in the episode where yamcha, tien and chiaotzu go back in time, tien does multi form, and yamcha saya spirit bomb. I always wondered if that was a dub mistake. Yamcha doesnt know the spirit bombe. But now i know he has that other move.

i saw that too...it made a pretty big blast..and it looked like a small genki dama...it might of been a dub mistake...when did yamcha learn to control ki..back then all he knew was his "wolf fang fist"..and when does he learn to fly??

it could destroy a planet but remember the genki-dama only destroys evils living things so yeah but if the blast was big enough sure it could blow up a planet

Well, Goku didn't throw it now, did he? That was Krillin, totally different ball game.
What you need to understand before even starting to campare these two spirit bomb moves, is that they are two COMPLETELY different movees. For example, the size is different. Goku's is huge, while Yamcha's is small. Also, Goku's is a finishing move, leaving Yamcha's as a normal move, hence meaning he does not use take time to gather energy for it. It comes from within him, and this obviously means it's not going to be very strong at all. Goku's, however, in addition to coming within him, it uses energy from all living things to a point. In does not matter on the size on the planet, but on it's life forms. And when you ask who would throw a stronger 'yamcha spirit bomb', that would also be Goku. This is because he can gather more energy at a faster pace from his saya-jin body, making it near impossible for Yamcha's to stand a chance. And if you wanted to go even further, Goku's version of 'yamcha's spirit bomb' would stand no chance to his own because of the added energy from living things around. His own is a finishing move which is indeed the strongest move in the db universe. Comparing it to anything is abserd.

-The Genki Dama is the strongest DBZ/GT move, bottom line. This is due to it gathering energy from everything.
-Although it can only target those w/ evil energy the consuming blast when thrown and impacted can destroy a planet.

I don't speak Japanese, but I don't think the soukidan is the instant transmission (or Instantaneous Movement, as it's called in the subs). I think it's something else.

Adn in early DBZ they didn't fly very often... they knew how, but for some reason, didn't. At least not like they did once they got to Namek and from there on out.
