Destiny. Like or hate

Been playing Bungie's newest creation since it came out and to be honest I love the game as do most of my friends. So far I haven't seen anything really wrong with the game and the stuff I feel like needs to be changed Bungie has already announced that they will.

I told one of my friends about it and he blew up on me saying it was the worst game ever invented and this and that. As the debate went on between us he even deleted me off of his friends list. (Thus in turn made me laugh so hard I cried)

I have also had a few other people tell me the game is going to fail and it's a piece of **** game but they never actually spoke their point as to why.

So this is my question cause I am dying to know. Do you like or hate Destiny and why

I haven't played the game yet so I don't have an answer. I will say that it was one of the games that I was looking forward to, but hearing so many negative comments about it put me off from getting it. Eventually I will get it because I've become more open to games of this nature (borderlands 2 anyone?).

But I will say this. I think it's great that Bungie and other devs (Ubisoft) are actually listening, patching and updating these games constantly. With that said, I'm at the point to where I'll wait until the very last patch actually come before I get the game because we just don't know if there's going to be a GotY edition or not, and well, I prefer to get a full game with all DLC already their for me.

The games lifespan is across five years so your going to be waiting awhile for all the dlc.

So far I haven't found anything wrong with the game. With your wait till the last patch comment the game is completely online so there will never be a last patch lol.

What negative comments have you heard. I myself have heard a lot but it's mostly from people who the style of the game is just not for them or somebody figured out a trick before them and progressed farther in the game. Most of the ones I have heard are just your normal everyday whiners but I am interested in what comments you have heard

Mainly along the lines of the game being incomplete, boss fights goes on forever, awards/loot not great (assuming they meant they're not getting the good stuff or something)

Look up angry joe's review sometime as well.

Like I said, I do still plan to get the game. I didn't know Bungie were going to be updating this forever though, so we'll see. The drive for me to buy the game now, though, isn't there.

Destiny in my opinion is like too much of your favorite bread. It tastes good, and if you don't have anything else to eat it will fill you up, but sooner or later it gets stale, and you probably don't want to eat more bread anyway.

I don't really mind that the social, RPG, loot, and story fell short. In the end it was a great shooter with a relitivly fun to explore game world. The thing that I simply can't forgive is the terrible multiplayer. If you are going to lable yourself as primarily a shooter you need to have this. After all the time spent working on Halo did they really think this was a solid experiance?

No custom games

No map editor

No chat options for months

Poor class balance

Only a handful of gametypes and maps

The few maps they had were nothing special.

Poor party options

Laughably unbalanced teams

Rediculous item requirements to play without a disadvantage.

I am sure there were more problems but I think I made my point.

I haven't played Destiny for a few weeks, but I've been enjoying it. I don't care much about the competitive side - I'm very much a "PvE" person - so this may have tempered my experience a little bit.

The two biggest issues in my view are: the story was clearly butchered during development (huge huge chunks were clearly taken out...you can see obvious gaping holes as you play through the campaign), and I don't like the inability to do matchmaking on the DLC strikes, because I don't know enough people who have Destiny...so matchmaking is my only option.

Aside from that, it's very worth playing. The gunplay is great, the environments are really well-designed and beautiful, and there have been a lot of tweaks to public events and such...to the point where they are more regular, and when they happen, they're really good fun.

I can agree that its worth playing but I typically require a lot from my games if I am gonna spend money on them. I don't buy them now if I cant get at the very least 100 hours for a 70$ game. A lot of people aren't as stingy as I am, but I can buy a lot of books for 70 bucks, buy a lot of music, and buy plenty of cheap or on sale games that can easily hit that mark or exceed it excessively. Destiny was fun for me through the entire story and for a few raids, but after that I just felt tired of the grind, and I didn't feel like I was getting much stronger. Without Multiplayer I just had nothing fun to do, other than replay with a new character, which wouldn't aid the repetitiveness of the game.  A lot of people may easily get their moneys worth for it though so I can't hate it too much... but there are probably more fun alternatives.

Without multiplayer? So does that mean you didn't do matchmaking where it's available?
P.S. Have you got a PS4 and a PSN ID?

I did play the matchmaking raids. probably 3 times for each. They were more fun than the story missions but I never really felt like we were working as a team.

As for a PSN ID I used my roommates. I can still play on it though if you wanna do a couple things on Destiny.

SOLIDSNAKESK7 is the ID.
