Parks and Recreation

Tonight was the series finale of Parks and Recreation. I love this show. I was not on board from the beginning, but I caught it on Netflix. I could not stop watching. I am so invested in the lives of the characters. I'm also pretty convinced that someone followed me around in my twenties and then wrote the character April Ludgate.

Do you love it? Do you hate it? Are you uninitiated? Can we sit and watch it together? Talk to me about my newly finished show.

Its not anime so I can't say I watched every episode (or started the last season) but I thought the premise was great and everyone is hilllarious.  I also think Rashida Jones is amazing looking... which is just more reason to watch the show. House of Cards is more of my type of show... and no comedy ever seems to hit the depth of Dead Like Me, but right now Parks is the best recent comedy IMO.

I watched Parks and Recreation pretty much from the beginning, loved it to a borderline insane degree, and as such the finale pretty much broke me. It was funny and touching and probably the best sitcom finale in a very long time, and it went out on a high rather than sticking around for two or three more seasons than it needed to (I'm looking at you, The Office...) and suffering from a decline in quality.

Having said that, I didn't want it to end because I loved the characters so much. So instead I was just glad that I brought a change of clothes, because my eyes pissed tears.

Anyway, I'm going to go and make myself feel better by selling some of my grandma's jewellery and going clubbing.

Jean-Ralphio ftw.

I remember when I started watching it, I kept thinking, "All of these characters singly would drive me crazy, but together I love them."

I like this show on a premise that hard work and positive action can do amazing things in the world. People don't have to break each other or be crappy. It's sappy and sounds trite and this show goes kind of way overboard on it, but It's the opposite of the basis of every reality show ever.

I love Parks & Recreation. Tom Haverford is the best, but everyone is really good in it. Reminds me of the Office (US) in the way that it's able to run for a long time and build on its characters and really flesh them out rather than relying on a star main character or couple of characters. (Please say nothing about the finale, I've yet to get that far!)
