1. Anybody here who's shocked that The Miz is WWE Champion already? Me too. I remember when he used to be the SmackDown! host. I didn't like his gimmick then; heck, I though it was somewhat annoying. But then, he slowly improved as the years went by. And now, he's your WWE Champ. Unbelievable, ain't it? I really enjoy Michael Cole's new heelish persona. After all, he's getting a lot of heat from fans even in the past because of his work as a commentator on Raw (which I think is a little odd since he's okay in my opinion). With his new heelish persona, he could at least show the fans that this guy ain't backing down anymore. Heck, I really enjoyed that promo he had with Daniel Bryan back when they were in NXT. You have to admit, the WWE is really into the youth revolution these days, at least when you tune in to Monday Night Raw. You've got The Miz, Sheamus, the NXT, Daniel Bryan, and you could even add Jack Swagger from SmackDown! in the list. Of course, we also have Randy Orton and John Cena, who are still considerably young but are now on the road to becoming veterans. Really, it's amazing how WWE has been in recent times.
 2. Detective Conan - I wasn't a fan of the detective genre in the past, and I thought this show wouldn't make any impact on me. But eventually, the plot led me to take a second look and then fall in love with the series. Major - I'm not too familiar with the rules of baseball, so I thought I wouldn't care much for this show. But after watching a few episodes of the series, I began to like it for its plot. Eventually, I became a fan, though I still need to understand the game of baseball to appreciate the series better.
 3. This really made me angry. Though vandalism is not good, arresting the girl was definitely uncalled for. What the hell is going on with the educational system these days? Is the line between right and wrong that blurry already? I know common sense isn't really common, but come on! Whatever happened to detention, or demerits in grades, or a session with the guidance counselor or the student affairs officer? And couldn't they have imagined the trauma that this incident had inflicted on the kid for such a simple act that isn't even worthy to be called a crime? She was sent to jail, handcuffed, for what? Doodles on the desk?! Oh, and apparently this happened after her Spanish teacher saw it, which led her to tell the assistant principal, who then called the cops who arrested her. (Read more here.) This better be a wake-up call for everyone. We cannot afford to have these kind of flaws in the educational system.
 4. Controversial, huh? I wanna say Death Note, but I can't really give a reason besides the Death Note incidents involving kids, bullied teens, and dismembered corpses. All I can think of now is Crayon Shin-Chan. You have a child who is very disobedient to his parents and has the tendency to dance around while showing his private parts. And to think this is a children's show, with children watching it and, most likely, imitate the show's protagonist, thinking it's okay to do it. Apparently, this show seems to have gotten the nerves of many in the Philippines, since I remember one commercial said that the show even got criticized by the Church. (Not really 100% sure about it, though. My memory ain't really that sharp.)
 5. For me, there were at least three deaths that really shook me and led me to be so teary-eyed and depressed. First was in Rurouni Kenshin: Reflection, when
Kenshin and Kaoru
died after spending their last moments together as an aged couple. I got really teary-eyed at it because I loved
Kenshin
's character so much and I really wanted a "live happily ever after" ending for the couple. The only consolation I have for this death is that RK's creator didn't like it as well. Sometimes, I consider this OVA as just a fanfic. Then, there was in Fullmetal Alchemist. I was quite shocked and saddened at the death of
Maes Hughes
. It caught me by surprise because I was expecting him to be one of the characters that will remain alive at the end of the series. Prior to his death, he was starting to become my favorite character in the show. That's why I was so distraught when he suddenly died. Even heartbreaking for me was seeing the funeral. Most recently, I had been deeply affected by the death of
Light Yagami
in the Death Note anime series. Now, I don't mean to anger the fans of his rival, who also died in the show. It's just that
Light
was the character that I related the most too, and not the other. He represented almost everything I've always wanted to be, save for his
Kira madness
. It was like seeing myself in him, or at least seeing a friend I've always wanted to meet. That's why seeing him die dramatically in the anime series just hit me a lot and really broke my heart. Tears didn't fall right away because of my brother's presence at that moment, but I know deep inside I was crying a lot. It became harder for me to cry when I had the chance. It took me around 2 months or less plus abstinence from watching Death Note just to get over that moment.
 6. I'm a Filipino, and I can never vote for any U.S. Presidential candidate. But I support the candidacy of Ron Paul because he has an extensive background on the issues, respects the Constitution, and has a tremendous amount of integrity. Also, he'll stop the Iraq war and fix the economy. That is why it always makes me depressed to see Mr. Paul not winning a single state in the recent primaries, caucuses, and convention. I always keep on wondering why people would choose Huckabee the religion-user, and McCain the war-lover. (PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: MCCAIN SAID THAT HE'S WILLING TO LET THE U.S. STAY IN IRAQ EVEN FOR 100 YEARS! A VOTE FOR MCCAIN MEANS THAT U.S. CITIZENS WILL LET THE NEXT GENERATION FIGHT A WAR THAT THEY DIDN'T CREATE! THINK ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN, DAMMIT!) Plus, much of the mainstream U.S. media is providing little and biased coverage of Ron Paul. Seeing all of these things happen just make me heartbroken. I see an honest, intelligent, and peace-loving leader in Ron Paul, and it breaks my heart to see a great man like him not getting the nomination because many citizens are too lazy to actually see behind the facade of the mainstream media. If Paul really won't get the nomination, then I'll support the Democratic nominee. I don't want a religion-user copycat to be a powerful world leader, and even more for a war-lover who's willing to turn make today's children tomorrow's Iraq soldiers. At least Obama and Clinton will provide some positive change. 'Till then, I will continue supporting Ron Paul, especially with the Freedom March under way. My support is not only for a better USA but also for a better Philippines (which is getting affected by the economic recession that --- take note --- Ron Paul had predicted before and is very much ready to beat if given a chance) and a better world.
 7. Ok, I'll give it a try. 8. I never expected the turnout of this game to be quite low. In fact, I expected it to have a lot of answers because of the question. It must have probably been too hard for you guys. Thanks a lot for your support! I hope we can do this next time, probably even moving to a new home *looks at theOtaku.com*. But then again, I have another thing in mind. Just watch out what crazy idea I'll come up next time.
 9. First of all, would like to apologize for the very late update. I had some school stuff to do last Friday and Saturday, and so I didn't get the time to surf the Net. Anyway, let's see who did well in the previous game. ---------- GAME # 17: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series that doesn't take place in Japan (The setting of the story is not in Japan.). I am looking for the TOP FIVE answers. RESULTS: 1) Fullmetal Alchemist - 21 (14.7%) 2 - 3) Hellsing - 8 (5.6%) 2 - 3) Naruto - 8 (5.6%) 4 - 5) Chrno Crusade - 5 (3.5%) 4 - 5) Pokemon - 5 (3.5%) WINNERS: We have one winner today. I did mention before that the deadline was on September 20 (Thursday). Even though I was a bit late in publishing the results, I don't think that was a good reason to submit an answer late as well. Also, if I did accept xmystic_silverx's answer, it might cause problems later. So, I'm sorry xmystic_silverx. I hope you understand. ---------- Well, it's now time. The final game of THE ANIME FEUD. And not only will this be the last game, but it will also be the game that will show either your respect or your disgust for an anime character. GAME # 18 (The Final Game): I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: QUESTION: Name an anime character that must never be/should have never been converted into a hentai character. I am looking for the TOP SEVEN answers. DEADLINE: September 28, 2007 (Friday)
 10. Since the anime industry seems to be dominated by the male sex, it will be interesting to see who scored well on the previous game. So, let's see who did: ---------- GAME# 16 I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series whose main character is a female. I am looking for the TOP FOUR answers. RESULTS: 1) Fruits Basket - 15 (10.5%) 2) Sailor Moon - 14 (9.8%) 3) Card Captor Sakura - 11 (7.7%) 4) Ghost in the Shell - 6 (4.2%) I noticed no one guessed GITS. I guess a lot of you only thought about the pretty, girly side of anime. Then again, I wouldn't have guessed it myself too, since I'm no GITS fan. WINNERS: We have 5 winners today. Congratulations! xmystic_silverx - 40 Kasuke - 40 Tallgeese- - 40 Hitsuzen - 40 Aaryanna - 40 Konata - 29 Meggido - 29 Shinmaru - 29 joshdude89 - 29 Reminisce - 29 Sazumechan - 29 Momo - 29 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 26 Revolver - 25 miss april - 25 Raiyuu - 15 P014K - 14 ChibiHorsewoman - 14 2007DigitalBoy - 0 ---------- GAME # 17 (Note: This will be the second-to-the-last game!): I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series that doesn't take place in Japan (The setting of the story is not in Japan.). I am looking for the TOP FIVE answers. DEADLINE: September 20, 2007 (Thursday)
 11. Okay, so let's see which FMA fan (or non-fan) gets the glory of winning this game. ---------- GAME # 15: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name something associated with "Fullmetal Alchemist". I am looking for the TOP FIVE answers. RESULTS: 1) Philosopher's Stone - 28 (19.6%) 2) Automail - 23 (16.1%) 3) Military watch - 19 (13.3%) 4) Transmutation circle - 14 (9.8%) 5) Alchemy - 12 (8.4%) By the way, this was the first game in which I actually had to judge your answers. That's why those who answered "transmutation circle" (which were only very few) got 14 points while those who only answered "transmutation" got 0. WINNERS: Many did well, but one emerged victorious. Congratulations, Raiyuu! Raiyuu - 82 Meggido - 77 Kasuke - 63 P014K - 63 Reminisce - 63 Tallgeese- - 63 joshdude89 - 63 Konata - 63 miss april - 63 Hitsuzen - 40 Revolver - 40 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 12 xmystic_silverx - 12 2007DigitalBoy - 0 Ikillion - 0 ---------- GAME # 16: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series whose main character is a female. I am looking for the TOP FOUR answers. DEADLINE: September 13, 2007 (Thursday)
 12. Hmm... GAME # 14 seemed to have gotten pretty interesting. Not just on the answers, but also on the debate on whether Naruto has superpowers or not. Anyway, let's see who were victorious in this game. ---------- GAME # 14: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series that doesn't involve any extraordinary super-powers. I am looking for the TOP SEVEN answers. RESULTS: 1) Azumanga Daioh - 13 (9.1%) 2) Prince of Tennis - 8 (5.6%) 3) Chobits - 7 (4.9%) 4 - 7) Case Closed/Detective Conan - 5 (3.5%) 4 - 7) Fruits Basket - 5 (3.5%) 4 - 7) Gravitation - 5 (3.5%) 4 - 7) Love Hina - 5 (3.5%) Here's my observation: Nobody mentioned Chobits, Gravitation, and Love Hina. This really was a tough game for you guys, wasn't it? Guess I should have stuck with my original plan of letting you guess only the TOP THREE. I was thinking of giving you guys a chance for getting bigger points, but I guess I should have considered the difficulty of the game. In case you guys were wondering, here's how some of the popular answers fared in the survey: 8 - 9) Ouran High School Host Club - 4 (2.8%) - Yup, it was so damn close! 10 - 12) Pokemon - 3 (2.1%) - Yup, some did think it has no superpowers. 23 - 66) Naruto - 1 (0.7%) - Well, I guess many did think Naruto had superpowers. This was based in a survey, after all. WINNERS: Only one survived this game. Congratulations Shinmaru! Shinmaru - 26 Sazumechan - 13 Hitsuzen - 13 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 13 Tallgeese- - 13 Konata - 13 Kasuke - 10 Raiyuu - 8 strwpoptart - 5 xmystic_silverx - 5 desertphoenix - 5 Meggido - 0 2007DigitalBoy - 0 ChibiHorsewoman - 0 Dbzman26 - 0 ---------- GAME # 15 (I hope this will be a bit easy for you guys.): I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name something associated with "Fullmetal Alchemist". I am looking for the TOP FIVE answers. DEADLINE: September 6, 2007 (Thursday)
 13. So GAME # 13 turned out to be just as easy as well. Let's see who ruled this game. ---------- GAME # 13: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name a sport that has been featured in one or more anime series. I am looking for the TOP SIX answers. RESULTS: 1) Soccer - 39 (27.3%) 2) Tennis - 37 (25.9%) 3) Baseball - 18 (12.6%) 4) Basketball - 8 (5.6%) 5 - 6) Football - 6 (4.2%) 5 - 6) Volleyball - 6 (4.2%) Once again, it's really too bad no one got perfect in this game. Man, a lot of you were almost close to making it perfect! WINNERS: We have 4 winners today. Congratulations! Meggido - 108 Kasuke - 108 strwpoptart - 108 Sazumechan - 108 Avenged666fold - 102 miss april - 102 xmystic_silverx - 102 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 90 Hitsuzen - 84 ChibiHorsewoman - 69 Tallgeese- - 65 Raiyuu - 61 2007DigitalBoy - 0 ---------- GAME # 14: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name an anime series that doesn't involve any extraordinary super-powers. I am looking for the TOP SEVEN answers. DEADLINE: August 30, 2007 (Thursday)
 14. As expected, GAME # 12 was easy. So let's see who topped the game. ---------- GAME # 12: I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name a popular choice of eye color in anime characters. RESULTS: 1) Blue - 49 (34.3%) 2) Brown - 28 (19.6%) 3) Red - 18 (12.6%) 4) Purple - 12 (8.4%) On a side note, it's too bad nobody got perfect in this game. WINNERS: We have 2 winners today. Congratulations, strwpoptart and Konata! strwpoptart - 95 Konata - 95 Hitsuzen - 89 Sazumechan - 89 XxXLolitaGothXxX - 77 xmystic_silverx - 67 Kasuke - 67 miss april - 67 Tallgeese- - 61 Sojio - 40 Meggido - 30 2007DigitalBoy - 0 ---------- GAME # 13 (a slightly easy game for you to add points): I ASKED 143 PEOPLE THIS QUESTION: Name a sport that has been featured in one or more anime series. I am looking for the TOP SIX answers. DEADLINE: August 23, 2007 (Thursday)
