The sound of a female vocalist filled Hoshiko's room, waking her up from her slumber and a dream she couldn't quite recall. She allowed her alarm to continue singing for a few moments as she stared at her wall and pondered; she just couldn't get the dream-- no, nightmare-- out of her mind. Visions of some sort of creature flicked in and out and made her shudder. After a few more seconds, Hoshiko shook her head and turned off her alarm with a smile. [i]Oh well[/i], she thought as she looked at the clock. [i]I need to get ready for school anyway. Gotta look beautiful for the first day back![/i] The young woman hummed as she went through her special First-Day-Of-School routine, and after an hour of washing, drying, brushing, straightening, dressing, make-up-ing, and adding just a bit more fashion to the school's uniform, she was finally ready for the big day ahead of her. As she made her way downstairs, Hoshiko could hear her mother on the phone, undoubtedly talking to the idol that she managed. The two made eye contact when Hoshiko entered the kitchen, her mother giving her the usual 'I'm-sorry-but-I-have-work-and-can't-take-you-to-school' look. The student returned the look with a smile as she grabbed an apple from the counter. A few minutes later, Ms. Akiyama gave her daughter a quick peck on the cheek before grabbing her purse and wandering out the door, still spouting out information through the phone. Hoshiko munched on her apple for a few minutes before she grabbed her bag, put her headphones in her ears, and got ready to seize the day with a grin.

She's almost always wearing the latest fashion trend. [b]Personality[/b]: Hoshiko is an adventurous, fun-loving extrovert that cares about nothing more than singing. She can often times come off as arrogant and snobby, and she will let nothing stand in the way of her and her future career. If you'll promise not to mess with that, she'll be loyal to you to the end. Although she's hardworking and determined, Hoshiko has a tendency to do a bit of lying to impress whoever it is that will give her attention, which sometimes gets her into trouble. [b]Bio[/b]: As mentioned above, Hoshiko adores singing and is an aspiring idol. Her mother is the manager for a popular idol, and that's how she first got interested. Although her mother is her number one role model, she doesn't always have enough time to spend with Hoshiko and instead spoils her with clothes, accessories, etc. Hoshiko's dad left her and her mother when she was seven years old, so she often seeks the attention that she's not getting from him through the outlets of school. Yeah, I would love to participate in this! I'm definitely better at drawing than with graphics, so I'm glad you proposed this idea. I also agree with Kei, it would be pretty cool to see if we could connect them somehow. Can't wait to see how this goes!

It is the best way to spend Sunday evening, and even though some of the movies we watch are horrendous (and even make some of us cry), it is something to look forward to every week. [B]What is it?[/B] AnimePulse Podcasts [B]Why is it nifty?[/B] Ichigo and Batou (along with the occasional Weltall and Tim) are the best at spreading around the anime news. Not only are they hilariously funny, they have great stories to share and “it’s a good time” as Ichigo says. I definitely look forward to listening to it every week. It is the best podcast around. [B]What is it?[/B] Nightbeck’s Block Busters [B]Why is it nifty?[/B] When I’m stuck and have nothing to write, I simply look at Becky’s Block Busters and ideas flow through the brain. They provide for great late night fun and great stories, too. [B] What is it?[/B] April Fools '09 [B]Why is it nifty?[/B] We all got Cullen Cancer for one full day. Well, besides Shin, who even to this day still has it. She’s an excellent author, and awesome artist, and makes great jokes. But most of all, she is an awesome friend! [B]Who is it?[/B] Katana [B]Why is she nifty?[/B] Katana is the reason why I am into MST3k and Doctor Who. She helps run Movie Sign and almost never misses an episode. She is a wonderful artist and also writes great stories. She lets me bother her on Skype all the time. She’s an awesome friend too! [B]Who is it?[/B] Redjacketalchemis [B]Why is he nifty?[/B] Red may be a little crazy sometimes, but we love him all the same. He does a great job moderating Chat and is always very kind to everyone. He always makes sure I’m watching the best anime series. Red is also the only person that will take my abuse. XD [B]Staff Member of the Year:[/B] SunfallE. She does a great job keeping the site under control and always works really hard. [B]Storyteller of the Year:[/B] Wayward Warrior. His TheOtaku fiction “Final Fantasy Otaku” is a huge hit. Wayward is one of the best authors around; all of his stories are great, not just FFO. And with Dueling Souls in the making, many other awesome stories should be coming our way. [B] Otaku of the Year:[/B] Well, I guess this doesn’t completely count as Otaku, but it is close. Katana! She is a devoted Mystery Science Theater fan, and also a huge Doctor Who fan. Kat does a lot to spread around the series, which includes making fan art and writing fan fiction. That's all I can think of for now. I'll probably add more later.
