Welcome, everyone, to the year two-thousand and nine! This of course means that you have to buy a new year-calendar, but more importantly, it means that it is time for a new Graphic Worm. Namely, Graphic Worm 2009!

Now, for everyone who already participated or witnessed last year’s Graphic Worm, you know how it works. For anyone who is new to the OtakuBoards Graphic Worm, or needs a refreshment of memory, I will explain the Worm below:

The Graphic Worm is basically one continuous Worm consisting out of all kinds of separate graphic pieces. The size of the Worm only depends on just how far we get by the end of the year. The way the worm works is this: in order, members create graphic pieces of 600×450 pixels (width×height). Because of the Worm being a continuous horizontal graphic, the artists will have to juxtapose their piece (its left side) next to the last artist’s piece in such a manner that it fits like a charm.

Because a picture says more than a million words, and my explanation frankly was not incredible, take a look at previous Graphic Worms for a good example. Here is the one of the year 2007: Graphic Worm 2007.

Please note how each image is a continuation of the previous one. This is what we would like to see. Take great care that the shade of colours and patterns align when set next to one another so that the worm flows. Also, try not to make it too hard on the next artist. Please be sure to check it out yourself after having made your image, before posting it. This to avoid confusion in the thread and Graphic Worm.

If you'd like to contribute to the worm there are a few rules that need to be followed. To be accepted your submission must be:

You get a turn in the Graphic Worm if you claim it. Claiming goes as followed: To start off, someone posts their piece for the Graphic Worm. Then a next person reacts to it, mentioning that they claim the next spot. They then have 24 hours (1 day) to complete their piece in the Graphic Worm.

As we use the claim +1 system, this means that when a person claims a piece of the Graphic Worm and starts working on it, one next person can claim the next part of the Graphic Worm.

Please note that you can not claim a turn before it's the person before you their turn to work on a Worm piece.
If you fail to post up your piece within 24 hours (1 day) after it's your turn to make one, you will be skipped and someone else can take your place in line.

Anyway, this post is long enough as it is... Let us all make this a happy, and awesomely looking, new year! And remember: you do not have to be some fancy experienced artist to leave your mark in the Graphic Worm!
