Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Sephiroth

I remember when I first heard of this and saw the little trailer thingy...I remember my first reaction so well....
"Holy cow! Silent Hill 3 graphics! NICE!"

XD They seriously do remind me of the grpahics in SH3, so nicely done, so human looking.
Buttttttttttt, at that moment I also believed the rumor about them remaking the game as well, which kinda lead me to believe they were gonna use those graphics for it as well. But it's just the movie. *cry*

I would've loved it if they remade the game, in nice new beautiful graphics. VII was probably without a doubt the best FF game ever. I finally got it for Christmas this year though and crap... I ended up having a game version of a culture shock considering I had been playing FFX-2 a whole week before. O_O

Heehee, can't mwait for the movie... Sephiroth is so...! *can't find the right words*

Yeah, I think it is just you. I watched the trailer again and I didn't see any earrings on Cloud.

Also, can you try and add some more content to your posts? That one was really short. Saying where you thought you saw Cloud with an earring would have both lengthened the post and provided more information. Thanks.

Well I must be blind because i don't know what i saw then or even remember how i saw it. :(

Like Des said before, please try to add a bit more to your posts. This post didn't really add anything to the conversation whatsoever...you could've easily edited it into your original post. - Shinmaru

IIH!!! It's Tifa! It's Vincent! It's Reno and Rude! It's a bunch of Sephie-clones! IIIHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!111

I'm turning into a screaming fangirl right this moment! :toothy:

Who do you think the little (?) girl in the last picture is? Is it Yuffie? Or maybe Marlene?

Heh, this movie is getting more Matrix-y with every new picture. ;) Just don't know if that's a good thing or not...

The more I see of Advent Children, the more gitty I get.

I'm glad they're actually gonna have most of the original cast in the movie, especially Vincent and the Turks.
As for the suposed Sephiroth clones, according to the pics they're names are Kadaju, Yazuu, and Rozu.
:D Or I could be wrong.

I do beleive that is Yuffie. She just has that Yuffie look.

I don't beleive it can be "Matrixy" as you put it. It's just going to be really high quality CG animation. If anyone saw Animatrix, then you should know what I'm talking about. High quality, kick *** computer graphics.

Though I already have one problem with this movie...Tifa's outfit. I don't mind that it's black and stuff, but they should of at least detailed the gloves to look painful. After all, that is how she attacks.

Vincent looks marvelous. For the most part, I think they've done a fantastic job of making FF7's anime-inspired character designs appear more realistic. Since it's pretty obvious who everybody is (only Yuffie would wear that cute sweater tank), I have almost no complaints... although the Sephiroth clone with shoulder-length hair might as well be a grown-up Riku.

Wow, I haven't posted here in ages. :p

Does anybody know the release date???? And why isnt it coming to Theatres??? Thats how people find out about the movie, by hearing them on movie commercials. I really hope it comes out soon because i definately want to buy and see it!!!!!

It probably isn't coming to theaters because it's not the type of movie that would appeal to the masses. Think about who the target audience is for this movie: Final Fantasy fans, people who've played Final Fantasy 7, and people who like CG animation. Although we might think that this is worth going to theaters, it's not a movie that someone who has never heard of Final Fantasy would be able to pick up... this is considered a sequel to the game of sorts, and not many people would watch a sequel without watching the first.. in this case, the first part was a game.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was a 100% standalone film. I'm not sure about Advent Children, though. It might not be standalone because it might not have enough of a complete exposition that people who have not played FF VII would not be confused. Anyway, it will be released on DVD in the U.S. I'm just hoping it won't be priced like other "anime" ($30 as opposed to $15 or $20).

I have seen a trailer for advent children, but it didn't say anything about theaters.
I also have heard that it's coming out in June. But, I'm so sad that it's going to be only one hour. That's not enough for me. :( But, maybe cloud will get to see aeris again...people say that he might see her in the lifestream.

Aeris is one of my favorite characters in any video game or anime... I just love that girl. Naturally, I feel somewhat conflicted about whether or not I want her to
be resurrected. It would make me incredibly happy to see Aeris alive and well, but if executed poorly, such a storyline would render her death meaningless. Aeris made an amazing sacrifice during the original game (heh, I couldn't stop crying when I first reached the end of disc 1). Living or dead, she's a very significant character and is pretty much guaranteed to have some screen time--through flashbacks, visions, dreams or whatever--in Advent Children.
I'm also very fond of Tifa. I've always thought that her mini-bio in the FFVII booklet is breathtakingly inaccurate; Aeris is bright and optimistic, while Tifa is shy and almost angsty. But anyway, I hope that Advent Children (unlike FFVII) will receive a decent translation.

About the theatrical release...

Stop questioning it. It's not happening AT ALL. It's designed to be a straight to DVD (and UMD for the PSP) release and that's that. Hell, last I've heard, they might make it so it only works on PS2s.

As per the whole Aeris ressurection thing, I'm pretty sure that they wanted to do that in the original game. I know its all rumor, but Aeris has four limit breaks in FF7 and they are basically impossible to get because She dies pretty early on in the game. They weren't able to finish the game completely and just released it from what I understand w/o putting in the ressurection part. Maybe it was a last-minute idea that they couldn't pull off?

If the movie is released on DVD and is popular, indie theatres might pick it up and play it. You can project DVD's on a movie screen even if they don't release a "film" version.

Eeep, spoilers...

There are plenty of arguments both for and against that particular theory. Most official sources (people involved in the game's creation) state that Aeris was meant to
stay dead.
*shrugs* If they had originally planned on
resurrecting her,
I'm sure something along those lines will show up in Advent Children.

One thing which bothers me is when fans complain that Cloud
should just have used a Phoenix Down on her. That cures KO status, not death.
^_^;;

movies are only human made inperfect recreations of symbolism to spread a story so i can only ask that you watch it with an open mind and dont waste your time spoilin the movie by tearing into translation flaws or expectations of something english based since it belongs to the japanese.

i only begin to breach the subject for you all hide your intelligence on the subject,
my opinion is at work here when i can relate the movie to the game, yet a flaw in the minds of the mass media is the idea that its based on the game, wrong, its based on events after the game, so best not to try to relate, let alone the game progression allows to ultimate capabilities of the characters, thus game players will expect great actions of characters in the movie, i would suggest that they limit the abilities the movies characters have, its not like they walked around expecting to fight monsters till their stats where full, as a judicator of rpg's i can tell you the character is aware to trained abilities, and learns more and more but is ignorant
to their stats, in other words they can compare feats not based numerical facts.

for those who cant understand, all im saying is dont listen to rumors, dont spread the rumors, watch and wait, keep your expectations at mediocre and dont expect over kill moves from the characters, watch with a clear mind, resist tearing apart the movie and you should be able to enjoy it a bit more,

like i said, i will only breach the subject, i wont disect it for i already know to much, and i dont want to spoil it for you, i just ask for prevention of destruction of peoples hopes befor they even hear of the movie, for if they hear bad befor they judge for themselves, they will fall to a type of unliked media manipulation,

i can tell you that final fantasy spirits witin was a change from their general genre, i see it as their experimentation for their new computer systems, and the sci fi genre
can be used to explore easily, probably to help expand capabilities, and adjust anything untouched to that point, if it wasnt for final fantasy spirits within, then we might not be having this conversation, one leads to another, but now that they got their system broken in, now their back to what they do best, fantasy, and their going to use a story of their best game to work with, now they created a story on a story to tie up loose ends and reintroduce the game and characters to the public, its genious and i for one of the waiting fans am willing to encourage their work and hope for the best, until the next time you hear from me
take care and peace out , ^_^ chibi will
