Agreed. Way too much of the first few chapters could've been condensed/removed to get to where we are now. Hopefully this is the start of things picking up again because I was really starting to lose faith in Bleach.

[Edit] Yikes, yet another decently paced chapter that advances several different strands of the plot (including my favourite "Watch out for Urahara" one). Hopefully next week's evolution with involve Ichigo's fullbring returning Zangetsu to him. Edited by Gavin

Indeed, I was a bit unsure about the pace of things at the beginning of the chapter but it picked up well. Yet again we're lead to question who the real Big Bad of this arc is going to be. Certainly better than Naruto anyway.

Another chapter that I liked. One thing I probably won't say again is that Ichigo don't use his head. I just hope that by the time he actually fight people on his level / stronger than him he doesn't go back to being an idiot. He did use his head a little bit against Ulquiorra but it didn't make much of a difference. But for the most part he's always just looking stupid waiting for the attack to hit him or something. Now I'm enjoying him as a main character though. I don't know if he's on Ageha's level of likeness but he's catching up. Seriously though, Ichigo's a martial artist. Why in the world was he just fighting with a sword against the Shinigami and Espada, especially the Espada (Taking kicks to the dome, punches to the face, fingers through the chest). It was like he didn't know how to defend himself without the use of his sword.

As for the chapter, this would probably be the only time I want to see a scene with Chad. I'm curious about whathisname's abilities.

I have to admit, I was really surprised Jackie was surprised by Ichigo's tactics against her. Ichigo is not a dumb guy, constantly in previous fights we've seen him sit back and assess his opponents a bit before he opens up a can on them. I mean this is the guy who took down Aizen in single combat for Christ's sake, ain't no dirty boot wearing ho like you getting the better of him. Still not loving the giant Shinigami shuriken though and hoping he gets Zangetsu proper back soon. I do agree with you about the martial arts comments but I guess when he fights with a sword that's just what he fights with.

I would've liked to hear what Ginjo told Chad about Tsukishima's powers too. Complete Hypnosis for the troll.

Wow, I haven't been this interested in Bleach for quite some time now. To actually have my curiousity piqued like this was like back in the whole Soul Society arc dealing with Aizen's betrayal.

I'm very curious about Ichigo's transformation now. No body to leave around this time so how will he be reverting back to normal?

Yeah, I just don't think it's meant to be that I will will ever like Chad again. Don't want Ichigo to know the guy who attack Orihime yet you're talking about this right in front of him. How dumb can you get? Good chapter but Chad just made me not like him even more.

He seems pretty surprised Ichigo is behind him so I imagine he didn't mean for Ichigo to overhear him, Ichigo himself comments that Chad is only trying to protect him and he appreciates it. I've always liked Chad though so maybe it's YMMV.

Interesting enough chapter I suppose, I guess Ichigo's fullbring makes sense although I'm not sure why people are tripping over him getting used to his powers so quickly given it's basically always been his thing. Next week should hopefully shed some further light on the Fullbringers as a group though I have to say I'm still hoping fullbring is just a stepping stone for Ichigo to regain his Shinigami/Vizard powers.

I didn't really care too much for this chapter. And at the same time for the most part, outside of Jackie and Ginjo I don't really care for these fullbring abilities. Also, Tsukishima (sp?) seems like another Aizen. He look like him, especially with the smug looks he's been giving everyone. I guess I just wanted to see Ichigo evolve a little more without people getting in the way.

Yeah, I really do want to know more about Ichigo's fullbring because as things stand, things are rather confusing. The comment about Ichigo nearly being at his old strength (I'm assuming maybe FK-bankai rather than Mugetsu because the latter clearly isn't true) was way out of left field, I think most people assumed he was back around early SS levels, if not lower. All the cloak and daggery is being kind of annoying too, I mean surely everyone (aside from Ichigo) knows why Tsukishima is after him, so it doesn't really make sense for them to be all vague about it. Oh well, hopefully things will pick up next week.

It's fair to say that Ichigo's progressing at a fast rate (like always) but I'm curious to know if Ichigo will retain the same amount of strength he once had when fighting Aizen, and then there's the hollow side of things. I'd like to think all of his powers are one in the same (if I'm not mistaken it was mentioned) but once his powers do return would he still be able to do hollowfication?

As for the chapter, not great but it was a lot more informative.

It's questionable for sure Magus, right now it's hard to gauge his actions strength in comparison to any of his previous forms because he's fighting new opponents who are completely different to the spirit beings normally in Bleach. The fact he's fighting in his human body, which supposedly is very different to a spirit form, muddles things even further. Based on appearance alone though, I'd say he's nowhere near his old strength or if he is, he just can't properly utilise it.

As for his Hollow side coming back when he regains his zanpakutou and powers. It's a possibility, personally I'd rather see it be like his Karakura fight with Aizen where it's all blended together again. Wouldn't mind seeing him and the Old Man pop up again though when he does get those powers back for a chat.

I'd completely forgot to read any manga this week until I saw you'd posted here.

Vaguely interesting chapter, Riruka is her usual loathsome, boring and predictable self. I have to say Inoue earned the slightest of props from me this week for effectively "***** please"-ing her. Of course given Ichigo will end up with Rukia, I suppose the two of them can snipe at eachother all they like. Bit more Urahara, Isshin and whoever the Shinigami is would've been nice but I suppose I can wait till next week.

I swear ever since this mysterious shinigami popped up I don't care about what else is going on.

I'm not convinced that this Tsukishima guy is that great to be the big threat (If you ask me, Aizen would make short work of him), and I can't say I'm impressed with Ginjo or the rest of these fullbringers either. People are giving a lot of credit to Orihime for standing up to him and forcing him away and to be honest that don't impress me. Not trying to take anything away from Orihime but I don't consider Ginjo to be strong. I mean all we have to go on is what we've see and when I compare Ginjo and his group to the espada (and the vizards) I don't see them doing much, at least not against #6 to #1. I'd like to see how they would fair against a shinigami of captain class before I consider them to be strong.

Decent chapter, but like I said, now that Isshin, Urahara and this mysterious shinigami popped up I lost interest in everything else because there's no doubt in my mind that the plot is revolved around them 3 right now and I want answers.

Heh I know what you mean, right now I'm not even sure who to guess it might be.

As for the Fullbringers, I'm still not sure how to gauge them. Their powers are very different to anything we've seen so far, and training is naturally different to actual combat. I do think under the right circumstances they could probably be a very credible threat, but most Captain class Shinigami would beat them one-on-one. I hate to say it but the fact Chad is a central member makes my opinion of their collective power dip a bit, unless of course Chad has been taking night classes in Hueco Mundo.

Orihime I really don't care about, "yay she's less useless!" I suppose might sum things up. The fact she can counter-attack now is an improvement so she's less of a load but I suspect she'll find herself firmly back in the damsel in distress role before too long.

15 pages of Orihime and Riruka blathering on about ****...

Wonderful.

On the positive side, I'm liking Ginjo more and more as time goes on. At this point I don't even care if he's the villain.

Vizard > Execution people. I want them to come back.

It seems like 90% of the fullbring powers are there to make training Ichigo possible. How are most of them suppose to fight? Invaders Must Die is a really cool power but it seems kinda whack against anyone who has real combat skills. Time Tells No Lies seems like an over powered fullbring to me, can't he just set conditions/timer that is impossible to complete (like "You must legit read the entire Dune collection. You have 30 minutes.") and then watch as they get burned by the flames of time?

After there performance against the espada I'd rather not seen them either but I'd rather see them over these new folks.

Anyway I agree with Gavin, but at the same time I have to admit that I did chuckle at Orihime's reactions for the donuts.

I think the main problem with the Fullbringers is that the feel completely out of place in Bleach. Humans with spiritual powers are Quincies (or something similar) and they've never demonstrated anything near the sort of specialisation of the Fullbringers. TBH I think it would've been a lot more interesting to have brought in a new sect of Quincies rather than the Fullbringers. Having just begun the Chapter Black arc of Yu Yu Hakusho I have to say it's got a really similar feel to it.

You're not the only one thinking that, Gavin. As a matter of fact there are quite a few folks that're calling Bleach a poor version of Yu Yu Hakusho, and while I tend to ignore stuff like that even I have to admit that the similarities are there.

New chapter is out and I gotta to say this chapter for some reason had a negative impact on me. A part of me just wanted to roll my eyes at Ginjo when he said that he was holding back. This only makes me want to see how a fullbringer deal with a shinigami of captain class even more now (And I'm not talking about Toshiro or Komamura either).

Funnily enough I thought this chapter was a major improvement over the last few as we're finally starting to see the plot move on a bit again (as opposed to endless bantering). Heh Ginjo admitted his villainous speech was pretty cliché in the end (and I was reading most of his lines in Aizen's voice anyway heh) so I was willing to forgive him that. At least Ichigo has completed his fullbring now so we should be pretty close to seeing his Shinigami powers reappear as well. Honestly I'm a little more interested in seeing if Chad and Orihime (who are both obviously incomplete fullbringers as well) get to bring on their powers a bit, after all Chad has already jobbed once in the arc so he's due an upgrade.

No Riruka (aside from the cover) was a huge improvement too, and only one Kurosaki-kun from Orihime.

Wow, big cliffhanger.

Isshin's got some explaining to do. Ichigo go find your father now.

I'm also curious about how Ichigo's shinigami powers are going to be regained from that form. Are we going to see the shinigami-look again or not? That getup looks nice and all. Wonder if it'll be black and white when it gets animated?

Seem like it's been forever since we've seen a plot twist in Bleach.
