The runes glowed sporadically, the passion and the feelings coursing through them both causing the to react. When he was with Masan, he was hardly covered in the runes then. Some had covered his hands, he had the crows on his chest and a few in other places. He had also been at a lower level of power, his emotions had never caused his runes to react like this before. He fought to keep his mind, the task was getting ever harder with every second that passed, every touch by her hands on his skin made him react. His muscles twitching and his body demanding more, the runes bringing them closer together now. The tender kisses she laid on his chest made him shiver and caused him to breath heavily, his chest rising faster and faster. His control slipping away as he let his hands guide themselves over her smooth skin, he felt her tremble and tighten her legs around him as he planted more kisses on her neck and shoulders, his need becoming desperate.

Her rune flared to life at their hands coming together, he saw her thoughts, her desires pushing to the forefront of her mind now. He saw clearly what she wanted from him, he couldn't deny it to himself anymore either. He had wanted this as badly as she did, his mouth closed over hers as one of his hands glided up her leg until it rested on her stomach, his fingers working nimbly as he unfastened one belt at a time, until both of them were unhooked, her back arched as he pulled the belts out and tossed them aside. The metal buckles clattering as he then lifted her shirt away, he arms held out as he started to pull it out, her lips exposed he stopped pulling it off and held her arms back as he pressed his lips to hers again, kissing her deeply before finishing the deed. He put his hands on her skin, let them explore her flesh as she closed her eyes and held her head back, biting her lower lip then suddenly gasping as he kissed her neck and moved down slowly, kissing her chest, his lips touching her scar he suddenly felt her become self-conscious. He brought his lips to her ear as he whispered gently to her.

"Whats wrong? Are you not ready for this?" She shook her head at him.

"No, I just don't like my scars." She whispered back, he went back and gave her scar gentle kisses. Her body reacting to the touch as she grasped the bed sheets, a light moan.

"I love your skin, no matter what is on it." He whispered the words without thinking, letting his sense of control go as he kissed her stomach gently, her hands rubbing and gripping his shoulders with every sensation, her rune coming to life more as her thoughts and feelings flooded Marcus' mind. His heart feeling as if was about to burst with her raw feelings, the sheer intensity of it was intoxicating and over powering. His lips glided back up, kissing any place he could t invoke a reaction from her body. Ali's hands slid down his body until he felt her hands pass his stomach and touch his belt line. Her small hands grasping for the button and swiftly undoing it, Marcus followed suit as he undid her skirt sliding it down her legs. Her naked flesh made his desire burn brighter, his runes reacting to the intensity, sending everything into Ali, her breath catching as she moaned louder this time. Marcus grabbing the blank it set it over them as he looked into her eyes, one hand on the back of his head, the other on his chest as he supported himself on his hands. His lips met her as they finally embraced each other, he gasp interrupting their kiss as she gripped his back, digging her nails into his back. Losing himself to the passion, the felt every twitch of her body, every time their runes flared it created more waves for them to flow with. Every rune coming to life momentarily as their love making cause them to loose sense of everything, rolling over, her on top as she gripped his hands in hers. The runes making them one in mind, while they were one in body.

Their bodies sweat drenched and aching now, both laying on their sides as Marcus held his arms around her, she tucked in and cuddled up to him as close as they could manage. Giving her a light kiss on the top of her head, they both breathed heavy as she looked up at him. A gleam in her eyes that made him smile, the secret smile that was just for her. She returned it with her own sweet smile, the one that made his heart beat fast. She giggled as she heard his heart beat rapidly, he shifted a bit as he held her closer, she draping her legs over him as they simply laid there. They had lost track of time, and neither of them seemed to care very much. His hands gently rubbed her back, feeling the scar there as well. He smiled to himself, remembering that this was the injury she received only the night before he met her, the night he came into their lives, and she came into his. She nestled up to him, planting a light kiss on his chest before whispering to him.

"I hope there are no regrets." He chuckled.

"Not from me, I hope you feel the same." She smiled and simply tucked her face into his chest. He readjusted himself as their eyes locked again, sharing their smiles.

"I always knew you had tattoos everywhere, but, I don't know if they are really everywhere." He smiled as he looked at her mischievously. He lifted the blanket up momentarily then closed it again before she could actually look.

"Looks like you missed your chance." She gave him a quick hit on the chest as he laughed, she lightly laughed as well. He rested his head, looking down at her for as long as he could before a sensation came over him that he hadn't felt in a long time. This time, he felt tired, felt the want for sleep. And so he closed his eyes, gently fading into a world he hadn't explored in over a decade. His breathing becoming deep, leveling out as his grip slacked ever so lightly. Ali simply stared at him as she felt surprise wash over her, and then a feeling of relief followed as she watched him sleep soundly for the first time in a long time. Edited by Dassem Ultor

She lay there, watching his eyes begin to twitch with his dreams, his small smile still in place as he held her loosely, she sat up on her elbow, her small hand on his chest as she watching him sleep, she could tell that unlike the first time a month ago, he was actually sleeping. She smiled more, her eyes softening as she looked at his face, his runes still glowing slightly with the after effect of their emotions and love making. She leaned forward and kissed him softly before slipping from the bed to wash her face, her hair sticking to her back still from sweat, she looked back as he shifted in his sleep, seeking her warmth, the tiny act making her smile. Walking back to the bed she bent down and touched her lips to his temple whispering against his skin.
"I'll be right back, I promise."
He shifted again, this time towards her voice and she covered his lips gently with her own, standing she made her way to his bathroom and smiled, it was about as normal as any other person's bathroom and she caught a giggle in her throat as she remembered imagining that his entire room had been decorated with the very runes that decorated his body. Turning on the tap she washed her face and neck, something catching her eye and making her pause. Even though, no matter how many times she replayed the memory over in her mind she never once remembered Marcus being anything but gentle, but standing out against the pale skin of her neck was a red love bite, she could clearly see where his teeth had grazed her skin and left it slightly swollen and red. She touched her finger to it and smiled as a slight throb came from the action, looking back through the door she could see he had similar marks gracing the skin of his chest and collar bone. They had managed to mark one another with even realizing it, the thought made her stomach twist pleasantly at the thought. She frowned as she caught sight of the scar on her chest and covered it with her hand, the blemish making her self conscious until she remembered Marcus' words to her.
I love your skin, no matter what is on it.
She felt herself blush as the words sunk in, it was as close as he had ever gotten to telling her that he loved her, or anything about her for that matter, it made her heart flutter and her cheeks burn, splashing more cold water on her face to try and cool the blush she looked back in on him and felt a comfortable smile fall into place. It had gotten so easy to show him that smile. It almost felt natural, padding back through the room she slipped back into the bed and sighed as he pulled her close again, his body heat seeping into her skin and warming her. She planted a light kiss on his chest and tucked her hair behind her shoulder as she continued to kiss up his chest and across his collar bone, planting one final kiss on his lips she settled down for the night to rest with him the light buzzing of her phone going off making her curse quietly as she rolled and slipped from the bed again, her bare feet hitting the cool carpet she searched for her skirt blushing as she found it almost completely across the room, silently wondering how he had managed to toss it this far during their activities when she had only managed to drop his jeans directly next to the bed. Shaking that thought from her head she dug into her pocket and pulled the phone out and flipped it open shocked to see the number on the display screen. It sent the warmth seeping from her body and a cold dread spread through her the longer she looked at it, looking back at the bed, seeing Marcus laying there she longed to slip back into the bed with him and surrender to sleep but the number on her phone seemed to be mocking her. She dug through his drawer silently finding another button up shirt she pulled it on and buttoned it hastily before slipping her skirt back on, grabbing her shoes she grabbed her key card and looked back at the man laying in the bed waiting for her, she felt her heart tug towards him and walked slowly back to him. Bending over she kissed his cheek lightly.
"I'm sorry I won't be here..."
She closed her eyes as she felt them sting with unshed tears pulling away as one crystal clear tear dropped and hit his marked cheek before she slipped from the room silently, she jogged through the halls til she reached her door, a faint smell making her feel dizzy as she swiped her card and slipped inside. The scent was stronger in her room and she knew it instantly, the musky, spicy scent that sent her head reeling, making her dizzy, she looked around the room, trying to find him, trying to catch a glimpse of him or even hear a flit of his voice but as she stared at her phone, the empty txt message making her want to cry. She looked around her room and caught sight of something she hadn't seen before, a single red tulip rested on the island of her kitchen, walking over to it she picked it up and gasped as she still felt the warmth from his hand fading from the bright green stem. It hit her suddenly what she had really done. She stood there, wearing Marcus' shirt, his scent lingering on her skin, his kisses still burning her flesh as the events replayed in her mind like a horror film now. Guilt washed through her like a typhoon and she felt her knees give out on her as she fell to the floor, silent tears flowing down her cheeks as she simply sat there, the tulip resting in her fingers limply, the ghostly feeling of Marcus' hands on her body sending her into a panic as it really began to sink in. She had made love to Marcus...she had given herself to him with out a second thought and worse yet she had enjoyed it...she could recall hearing her own voice gasp his name, she could remember holding onto him as if he were her last life line never wanting it to end as she surrendered to the sheer bliss of the emotions they had shared. She looked across the room and into the full length mirror handing from her bed room door, her cheeks still had color to them from the passion they had shared and she could still make out the red mark on her neck from where his teeth had marked her, marked her as his...and she had done the same to him. She recalled his words to her again...
I love your skin, no matter what is on it.
It still made her stomach twist pleasantly but it made her want to scream as the all to familiar scent lingered in her room now, it was Demetri. He had been here, he had been looking for her and where was she? Where had she been when he had come to find her, when she had a chance to get him back...she had been gone, with Marcus and than...
She couldn't finish the thought as her tears fell into the carpet making the fibers darken as the moisture hit it, but what was worse...what made her feel worse than anything...she still wanted to go back...she still wanted to go back and slip back into the warm bed that held Marcus. She wanted to go back to being happy, being loved, she covered her eyes with her hand as a quiet sob slipped from her throat as another fresh wave of guilt stomped down on her. Demetri was alive, and he was trying to get in touch with her, he was closer than anyone thought, the tulip in her hand was proof enough for that, along with his lingering scent that floated around her room, a part of her still wanting nothing more than to go back to the lover waiting for her down the hall in bed.

When his eyes had closed and his body had actually fallen into a deep sleep, he still awoke in the realm of darkness and shadow. He sighed to himself as he looked around, feeling like he would never have a normal dream again. He started walking, thinking he could find something more, maybe something new would pop up. Nothing ever did, it was all barren and empty. He heard a giggle and turned around casually, seeing the old man with both hands on the cane, he shook his head at him.

"Don't you ever leave me alone? I just want to sleep, I haven't done that in 10 years!" Shadowthrone giggled again before turning his head and shielding his eyes away from Marcus.

"You might want to put something on, you're just embarrassing yourself." Marcus looked down to see that he was completely naked, he just sighed as he simply thought of some shorts that appeared on him.

"There are you happy?" Shadowthrone giggled again as he looked Marcus over, giving him a few pokes with his cane as he walked a circle around him.

"What the hell are you doing old man? I'm not a piece of meat for you to buy at the market."

"No, but i'm trying to understand how you did that." Marcus raised an eyebrow at him.

"Did what?" He giggled again, this time with mischief in his voice.

"That move with the young lady! It was quite impressive, I can't believe you can bend that way my boy." Marcus placed his hand on his face and let out a gruff sigh.

"You watch us? You old perv, can't I get some damn privacy!" Shadowthrone tapped his index finger on his chin as he looked to some random spot, looking like he was thinking.

"Hm, No my boy. That would just be stupid, I mean look at her, so supple and flexible. I mean when I saw you two do that one thing, you know where she..." Marcus struck out at him, the old man disappearing suddenly then reappearing a short distance away, laughing manically.

"I think i'm going to have to kill you for good this time Ammanas. I mean it."

"Calm down, calm down. It was all in good jest, but you might want to see this." Ammanas pointed behind Marcus, he turned suspiciously as he saw the mirror again. This time, he saw Ali laying next to him. His heart warming up, before second later her phone buzzed. He could see her roll her eyes as she looked for her skirt, finding it across the room.

"Not a bad toss my boy." Marcus looked at momentarily, Shadowthrone held up his hands as he tried to suppress a giggle. Marcus looked back to the mirror, her face suddenly looked disturbed. Shock registered on in her eyes as she closed her phone, reaching into his drawer and pulling out one of his shirts. She buttoned it up and slipped on her skirt, she bent over and kissed him lightly on the cheek. The words she whispered sounding so clear to him.

"I'm sorry I won't be here..." Marcus' face dropped as he saw her escape out of his room. He looked back and Shadowthrone was gone, as was the mirror. His eyes opened once more, this time to his room. Finding himself alone as he did in the mirror, he sat up, feeling something run down his cheek he touched it. Seeing it come back wet, he understood what it was, a single tear for him, for the words she had said to him. His heart beat furiously in concern, the runes responding to his emotions again. In his moment of panic, he failed to realize the emotion he had sent out. A single rune on his palm glowed for just a second, before fading. He rose from the bed, calming himself down and taking a moment to think of his next move, it quickly became obvious. He quickly slipped on his pants and a pair of sandals, anything else was not needed. He grabbed his key card from the ground and swiped before walking out the door, closing behind him silently as he walked the halls. He kept his pace slow, he needed a few moments to think anyways before going to her room, clearing his mind and let everything settle he finally came to her door. He hesitated as he stared at the door for a few moments, the card frozen in his hand as he took one more breath. Reaching out he swiped his card and the door opened, he stepped in slowly, he was momentarily stunned by the size of the room, big enough for two people easily.

I can't believe we were always going to my quarters. He thought to himself as he heard the sobbing, Ali having not seen him walk in. He took a few steps over to her, standing a short distance away.

"I felt it Marcus. I knew you were coming, just go away." He remained where he stood, his heart racing as the words left her lips. He thought about leaving now, letting her be alone for now. But, he couldn't do that, he had been alone for 10 years, carrying a burden on his shoulders that would have crushed other men's spirits. Having her, even if it was just only a month of them being together in secret, had lightened his load. He felt relieved all the time, he knew he could share with someone on a deeper level then just talking. he was able to show her, and she could show him. He remained firmly planted on the ground.

"No, I'm not leaving you." She stood up from her place, tears still staining her face and she continued to weep. She rushed toward him, trying to push him away, he felt her hands contact his chest hard. He swayed lightly, determined to not move a single inch.

"Get out of here! I just wanna be alone!" The mystic remained silent as she tried to push him again, her attempt much weaker this time. Her third attempt she simply fell into him, her pushing not working so she began to pound on his chest. Her small fists seeming to find the marks she had left on his chest, he simply kept silent as he looked down at her as her pounding progressively slowed. Putting his arms around her once she couldn't hit him anymore, she began to crumple into the ground, he went down with her as he openly sobbed on him. He gave her a light kiss on her forehead as he tears slowed, he could still hear her sniffling.

"Ali, whatever it is, i'll help you. We can do this together." She shook her head in protest.

"No you don't understand. He was here!"

"Who was?" He said, the moment the words escaping his lips his heart sank. Knowing exactly what the answer would be.

"Demetri. He left me this." She reached down and lifted the floor to his eyes, looking at it intently, his emotions took a tumble. His mind spinning out of control with the one possibility that scared him most. He was gonna lose her, lose everything again, he knew he had the strength to fight for her if it came down to it. But, he didn't know if he had the strength to fight if she didn't want him. He gripped her hand gently, taking the flower momentarily and setting it on a night stand near by. His hand touched her's again, the rune on her hand coming to life as she shared her sadness as he shared his with her as well. He closed it off then, having to guard his emotions just for now, just long enough before the sadness took his mind. He leaned down and gave her a soft kiss on her lips, pulling away he kept her hand in his as they knelled on the ground.

"Don't worry Ali, we'll find him. i promise we will." She nodded into his shoulder, not trusting herself to talk after they had just touched runes again. Marcus looked around the room casually now, finally coming back to the bed, he whispered to her again.

"Your room is huge. I can't believe you don't get lost in here." She gave a small laugh, the tears gone now as they stood up. He looked behind her, staring at the bed for a few moments until she turned and looked at it.

"What are you looking at Marcus?"

"Your bed is absurdly huge." She gave a small laugh again, he let her go and suddenly leaped onto the bed. Making it squeak lightly, spreading out on the top of it he looked around from his new perspective.

"Its not to bad, pretty comfortable."

"Well it should be, Its the Commanders bed, after all." He looked over at her, only raising his head and stretching his neck.

"You can have my bed, I think I'll just stretch out and take this over for tonight." She suddenly leaped on to bed too, getting on top of him and straddling him.

"I don't think so mister!" She said with her sweet smile on her face. He gave an exaggerated sigh, acting dramatically.

"Fine, I guess I can share it then." He suddenly grabbed her and turned her over, wrestling for a few minutes on the bed before they both collapsed, laughing now as they caught their breath. They readjusted themselves on the bed, laying side by side, Marcus using his elbow to prop himself up as Ali put her hand on the side of her head. Marcus let her special smile show on his face, she returned the favor. Leaning in, he kissed her deeply for a few moments before pulling away again. Seeing the mark on her neck he touched it tenderly.

"Got you pretty good huh?" She giggled as she traced a few marks on his chest.

"I got you more." He let out a laugh as he rolled on to his back, trying to hold on to this moment so the dark places of his mind couldn't creep in again. He only hoped Ali would be alright in the end.

Ali watched him as he rolled onto his back, the same pained expression that he used to have, the same one that she had managed to abolish within a month and now that it was back while he was in her company did not sit well with her. She slid closer to the man and looked down at him, her heart beat beginning to get more rapid as she stared down at him, he truly was handsome in a dark way, it excited her as she took in his dark skin. She met his dark brown gaze with her lighter chocolate one shocking him for a moment as he saw the pained look on her face.
"Ali? What-"
She leaned forward and swallowed his question quickly as she straddled him, her fingers grazing the crows on his chest, going as far as to even follow the small patterns within the tattoo, the touch making him gasp as it was unexpected as his hands gripped her hips tightly.
"A-Ali..."
"Never again..."
He frowned, her voice had been muffled against his skin but he had heard the words clear.
"I don't ever want to see this expression on your face again, I thought I had gotten rid of it...you've seemed so happy this past month. I don't want that to go away."
The words struck his heart and he felt his throat tighten, the gesture more than enough to melt the man there and than as she lavished his bare chest with soft kisses.
"Never again... I don't ever want to see that look on your face Koibito."
Marcus smiled as the name washed over him, sending a warm wave of familiarity through his system as she ran her her hand gently down his face starting at his forehead and letting her fingers travel downwards across his eyes, lips and chin til they rested on his chest. He thought nothing of it at the moment but as weeks would pass he would realize that the gesture and name that she had started using brought back a familiarity that hit home closer than he would have ever through possible. The next couple of weeks had been rought for the once gentle giant, more tortures and mind controlling pain endured every waking hour he served his mystery man. More runes sketched into his body, more memories faded as he lost sense of time and reality at random period, even his past life before and during his service with the Human Defense Force became a blur to him. His new â??masterâ? had him whipped like a mutt starving for food, Demitri kept his spirits up little by little, but always he was punished for disobeying direct orders or acting on his own. Day by day the pain continued onto the second month, no communication was allowed between Demitriâ??s team members or direct family, but slowly they started to vanish from his mind. Small pieces of words or objects would jog the giants memory, but Sybille knew better as his mind purging became aggressive if something were to spring up without his approval. Demitri spent nights awake, wearing his body out, too afraid to sleep to the sense of losing more than he knew he had already lost. In his apartment in Baltimore, still the many computers still operated as the giant spent day after day hacking and infultrating the different HDF bases to get bits of information, even supplies, for his masterâ??s intended plan. Questioning the voice was now not an option. On his last secret invasion of the Northern Base, Demitri sent a message to his beloved Alex, but the message was empty, forgetting for a moment who she was and why it was important to contact her, he sent it blank. The night he crept back into the facility, it took him a bit longer to get inside, due to the ample security measures by Commandant Shield. But, with the powers gained by the runes and Sybilleâ??s knowledge, he was able to now walk through walls and pass laser security. Demitri stopped by his intened room for he and Alex, on that night, he left a freshly grown red Tulip inside the room. The thought bothered the giant on why he picked that certain flower, his memories fading for the reason, but for once out of the two monthsâ?¦he smiled when he left the carnation and vanished, returning to his apartment and facing his expected torture from his master. But that nightâ?¦nothing. The giant was on edge several days afterwards, hoping he wouldnâ??t let anything slip to his master about his actions. It was Thursday, a cloudy afternoon in Baltimore as Demitri wondered the streets going to the nearest café, taking his mind, or what little he had left of it, to interact with humans once again. His phone rang, it was an old high school friend that Demitri had known since childhood, wanting to grab a cup of coffee and some lunch. The giant was hesitant to go without orders, but his willpower was still intact as the giant showered, dressed and went on his own. Stopping at the corner of the street, he rested his hand on his left eye, his entire body was sore and exhausted, but he walked on his way, there was a loud sound that surprised the man, the oncoming car that was speeding through the streets when Demtiri walked, not noticing the red light for â??Do Not Crossâ?, it surprised the giant as he stood there frozen. In a flash, Demitri was grabbed from the neck of his shirt backwards into an strong embrace as the car rushed by, flipping off the giant and the stranger.

â??You know, you could have been killed. How many times do I have to save you ya stud?â? The voice was familiar as Demitri stood on his own feet again and looked behind himself, it was his friend Aaron.

â??Aaron!â? Demitri gave a quivered sighed as he forced a smile, still shook by his lack of reflexes. His friendâ??s face dropped to a deep frown as he took hold of Demitriâ??s shoulders and stared the giant in the face, seeing the withered figure of his once energetic friend worried the man. Both men having the same build and muscle girth, it was unusual to see Demitri that way.

â??Are you alright Demmy? You seemâ?¦worn out, like a lotâ? Aaron released his grip while Demitri adjusted his shirt.

â??Just beenâ?¦.tiredâ? He gave a small laugh, but Aaron was not easily fooled.

â??Lets get going, come onâ? He placed his muscled arm around Demitriâ??s neck, leading them towards their favorite hang out café they always went to. Both men ordered their drink and took a seat at the cushion table, Demitri stared at his drink for a long time while Aaron sipped, keeping his eyes on his friend. â??Demmy, come on now. This isnâ??t like you.â?

â??How would you knowâ? Demitri snapped, not knowing where the anger came from as he shot an angry look towards his friend. He couldnâ??t explain where the rage was coming from, it came naturally to him for some reason. Aaron braced himself as he sat straight up in his seat, placing his drink on the table.

â??Look bud, last time we talked was months ago, you said your job with the government was going well. Heck, they even recruited you from the Marines, thatâ??s pretty hard core. Is something that matter lately with work?

â??I dunnoâ? Demitri sighed as he calmed down, finally taking his drink and quenching his thirst with a couple of sips, the giant didnâ??t eat or drink much during his stay. He never seemed to need basic food or water, but his build continued to stay and grow little by little. It was confusing all around.

â??Is there someone special in you life?â? Aaron smiled as he gave a wink, the giant pondered the questionâ?¦was there? He seems to remember a woman close to him, but the name and image of her seemed to slip his mind every time he tried to think of her. Then, the pain came again.

(Noâ?¦please no) Demitri closed his eyes and braced himself, his body hurting more and more as the seconds passed, he felt heavy in his own chair as his body temperature grew to a high level. He knew what was coming when the giant opened his eyes, his left eye completely white now as he looked at his friend, who didnâ??t even notice. Aaron only saw both of Demitriâ??s hazel eyes.

(Youâ??ve disobeyed me slave, you know the punishment for such an act) Sybilleâ??s voice echoed in his mind, the giant turned pale white from fear. Demitri didnâ??t want anything to happen to his closest friend , or to any of the other humans in the café.

â??Iâ??m sorry, I-I have to goâ?¦â? Demitri sprang from his chair and bolted out the door, the customers watched as he nerely destroyed the door, Aaron stood up as he viewed his friend leave the café and then out of sight. Demitri made his way to his apartment, feeling more pain with every stride he took, but he had to get back to his apartment, it wasnâ??t an option. Entering the complex, the giant raced up the stair and slammed his door open without using his key, closing the busted door the best he could before he doubled over on the ground, feeling the pain in his head increase as the man yelled and shifted violently. â??P.p.p..please stop Master!!!â? He roared, crawling his way to his mattress across the room, more pain shot at his back and chest.

(You will NEVER act upon your own slave, NEVER!!!) More pain again and again, the giant reached his bed before jolts shot throughout his body. Demitri screamed in pain for several hours, the torture was like the ones before, but this session lasted until the sun dipped down into the harbors water as the street lights illuminated the night for its busy patrons and visitors of the evening. Demitri laid on his back, eyes wide open, catching his breath as he waited for another assault on his body, but nothing came. (Go to your computer slave, work must be done). Demitri didnâ??t hesitate, slowly standing to his feet, the giant fought against strained and pulled muscles, exhaustion and defeat as he stumbled each step until making it to his chair and sitting down. Turning on the monitors, he stood straight in his chair, tears flowing down his face.

â??Yes masterâ? He huffed, still rasp in his breaths as he tried to calm his body from the pain.

(You will be a good pet, understood) The voice louder and more stern.

â??Yes Masterâ?¦this one will beâ? Demitri was trained to not have a sense of self, only to address himself in the third form, it pleased Sybille, knowing his mind bending was coming to a close little by little as the days passed, he chuckled before continuing to speak.

(We are to obtain something delicate from the Northern Base, the Commandant's key code access to your organizations High Counsil files, you are to obtain those tonight slave, there will be no room for error). With that, another rune slowly drew on Demitriâ??s left leg, another power bestowed onto the giant as he flinched in pain, it felt like knife was carving into his skin as the black marks drew themselves, making the man shut his eyes in pain until the process was completed. (Use this power to get by, but be swift my pet, I will not be kept waiting).

â??Yes Master.â? Demitri slowly nodded to himself as black smoke surrounded the man, much like Cloakâ??s powers, his power was etched onto Demitriâ??s skin weeks before to complete other missions and extract him instantly. When the smoke cleared, Demitri stood inside the halls of the Northern base once again, this time in B wing, where the new recruits stayed to training and master training of their powers. The former commander was now dressed in his jeans and black tank top again, he swiftly made hast towards the commanders section of the base, exiting into the courtyard and passing the gardens in the night, he took out a couple of guards on patrol as he entered the tall 40 foot story building that held the higher ranking officials. The halls were alive and active, commanders and captains alike still roamed the hall in the evening hours, their security was to be kept active after so many invasions of the other bases alerted the northern base. Demitri used his powers to move through walls, his eyes white as light as he swifty caught a couple of commanders and grabbed them through the wall, knocking them out in the room he was in. Little by little, the giant climbed to the top penthouse, where the Commandant of the base and Madam Touch resided.

(Use the power Iâ??ve bestowed onto you my slave) Demitriâ??s lef leg rune lit up as the giant slowly came one with the environment, like a chameleon, he blended in with everything around him. Picking the lock on the door, he quietly entered the penthouse and closed the door. The sounds of the violin soared through the air as the giant slowly walked further into the living space of his parents, passing a large door, he entered the living room and saw his father reading a book on his favorite reclining chair. Madam touch played the violin softly, yet powerful to keep a calm in the room. Demitri quickly dashed to the office door and phased through it without making a sound as his feet touched the hard wood floor of the office. Going to the commandants computer, the giant quickly entered a hacking code and retried his information, but it was odd to the slaved giant, it seemed tooâ?¦..easy. Getting the information on disk, Demtri phased through the door once again, but this time when he was passing the living room he was stopped by a sudden blast to the wall mere inches in front of the giant. Demitri was stunned as he looked over to see the Commandant and Madam touch, not in full uniform with their own personal stances. Madam touch crossed her delicate arms as she glared with a smile, her lipstick shinned in the light as the Commandant held his hand towards the invisible intruder.

â??You must have some balls to come into this part of the base. If you surrender now, no harm will come to you.â? The commandant charged another bubble blast in his hand. Demtiri didnâ??t know what happened next as he fully uncloaked himself in front of his parents, both gasping as their eyes widened in shock.

â??Demitri!!!â? The commandant gasped.

â??My baby!â? Madam touch pressed her fingers to her mouth, tears of happiness and worry took over her.

â??Mommaâ?¦.Dadâ?¦.Hel-â?? Before Demitri could continue, more waves of pain attacked him without fault, causing the giant to fall to his knees and shake. Madam Touch went over to his side and held onto her child, trying to use her powers to heal him, but it didnâ??t work. Demitri stopped shaking as he smiled from ear to ear before speaking, but when he spoke, it wasnâ??t his voice.

â??Thank you woman, now I have your power as wellâ? Madam Touch backed away for a moment, but It was too little too late, Demitri shot a strong blast of wind, hitting his mother in the stomach as she flew towards their window, crashing through as she screamed.

â??TOUCH!!!â? Shield yelled as he saw his wife fly out the window, there was a thundering explosion on the ground, Madam touched projected an energy blast to soften the landing, but she still landed with great force. Sheild looked out the window, seeing his beloved feet below struggling as she winced on the ground, commanders and soldiers alike rushed to her side in shock, Sheild looked back towards Demitri, but he was nowhere to be found.

~Demitriâ??s Apartment~

The giant rolled on the floor crying, jolts upon jolts fired into his body as he convulsed violently, the man yelled and begged for a stop, but none came.

(WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE PASS CODE WAS A FAKE???) The voice yelled, sending more wave into the man.

â??They were expecting me masterâ?¦.please stopAHHHHHHHâ? His body was thrown to the wall hard, making a mark as Demitriâ??s blood poured from his sores. â??Master pleaseâ?¦.no more!!â? He begged and protested, but nothing would work on his master, it all fell on deft ears.

(YOU FOOL, I TOLD YOU FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION) More and more jolts had the man subdued in pain, hours passed before it stopped. But a small picture hovered over Demitriâ??s head. It was a snap shot of the group photo they took at the island. All his team members there, but there was something missing. Pocket, Jeff, Marcus and Lily were gone from their origianal spot.

â??Please masterâ?¦.no more, please my masterâ? But it was too late, soon, Jason and Tank vanished from the photo. Along with any memory of them from Demitriâ??s mind, then soon Lily and Sasa vanished along with tempest. Soon, it was only Demitri, Ali and Gene left in the photo. â??Maâ?¦masterâ?¦â? Demitri went silent as tears rolled down the side of his head, any memory of his former allies gone now to him. The angry voice now calmed itself as it spoke once again.

(My pet, those are your enemies, and ridding yourself of that woman was good for you. Tell meâ?¦what was her name?) The voice had a triumphant tone to it. It took Demitri all of his might, but he couldnâ??t remember.

â??She wasâ?¦.myâ?¦enemy master. Enemies have no namesâ?¦â? Demitri monotonely spoke. Sybilleâ??s voice laughed uncontrollably at his point, leaving the beaten giant to lay there defeated.

Ali walked the halls, her head swimming as she passed the lunch hall, her stomach rebelling against her viciously for the third time that morning. She shook her head to try and clear the dizzy spell and nausea that had take a hold of her but felt her world spin and had to stop and lean on the wall taking deep breaths to try and calm her stomach. After several moments she continued towards the Commandants office. It had been a total of three months since the beach vacation and Demetri's disappearance and things just seemed to get worse from there. Her guilt never left her as the talk her and Marcus had a few weeks ago filtered through her mind. She hadn't been able to understand most of it due to the ringing in her ears and the tunnel vision she had gotten in the stuffy, hot training room but the one thing she did hear was that they shouldn't be around each other any more. Since than she had been sleeping alone in the large Commanders room, it was quiet and she had spiked the cooling temperature to almost 55 degrees, her skin steaming every time she would go back from a training mission, which is where she was trying to get back from now. Her stomach lurched again and she felt the bile rise in her throat but forced it down knowing her room was only mere feet away. After several painstaking minutes she finally reached it, the cool blast of air coming from the room making her sigh a she shuffled to the bed and fell on top of the feather down blankets, sleep almost coming as soon as she landed, but today was not her day as a knock sounded at her door.
"It's open!"
Her voice had come out much more aggressive than she had intended and she flinched as the Commandant strode into her room, a frown etched into his features.
"Talon, this room gets colder every time I enter it. Are you sure your feeling alright?"
"I've told you a million times Commandant, I'm. Fine."
She left no room for argument and he held up his hands in surrender.
"Take it easy, I was just concerned."
She sighed and covered her eyes with her hand nodding.
"I know sir...I'm just...tired."
"Well I'm afraid sleep will have to wait. I have a mission for you."
"Right, I'll call the team."
"No Talon, just you."
She looked up and nodded.
"Meet at the transport bay in 5 minutes, haste is important."
She nodded again and watched him leave, his shadow looking so much like Demetri's she felt her heart ache for the man. Looking over at the dried tulip on her bedside table she took a shaky breath and got off the bed, changing from her training gear and into a pair of shorts and a tank top she frowned as she found it hard to button the shorts. Walking to her bathroom she stood on the scale and frowned more...she had gained nearly 20 pounds in the last three months, it was impossible and unexplainable, the only explanation being impossible. She shook her head and took a deep breath as she slipped the shorts off and grabbed her jeans, the fit her better. Grabbing her trench coast and holster she walked from her room and swiped her key card locking her door and started to walk down the hall feeling her eye twitch as Jason huffed as she passed.
"You know, you were all happy a few months ago when you and Marcus seemed to be doing well and now your all pissy. Mind telling me what's going on? Lack of sex getting to you little sister?"
She swung out and caught him in the chest with her gloved hand, he grunted at the force behind it and frowned down at her.
"Damn, your awful moody lately sis. I was just messing with you."
"Yeah? Well I have a mission so if you wouldn't mind I need to focus and having a damned dog begging for scrapes of gossip is just pissing me off."
He frowned and crossed his arms over his chest walking away from her, she sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose making a mental note to apologize to him once she got back. She passed a room and stopped for a moment looking in, Tank was sitting on the floor bouncing Lily on his knee with a soft smile on his face.
"Hey you two, you guys doing alright?"
Ali was happy to see the med team had done as she asked and healed the boy so there were no scars from his run in with Demetri, only the gash above his eye remained, he was still going through some minor physical therapy but all around he was doing much better. Lily hopped from his lap and ran over to her hugging her around the waist.
"Mommy! Big brother says that your making meatloaf tonight!"
She smiled and ran her fingers through the girls blond locks nodding.
"I have to go to work, but as soon as I get back we'll have dinner alright?"
Ever since Ali had been staying in the large room she had been putting the kitchen to use, feeding Tank and Lily home cooked meals each night after her shift was over. Tonight would be no different, she looked at Lily and kissed the top of her head.
"I have to go to work now so you take care of Tank alright?"
Lily nodded and ran back to her brother, Ali looked at the boy as he gave her a large grin.
"Have a good day at work Mom."
She smiled and gave him a wave, he had slowly been opening up to her and she was more than happy to oblige in speaking with him, one of the things being the boys real name.
"Don't over do it you, you hear me Dante?"
He nodded and went back to indulging the little girl trying to get his attention, Ali continued on til she reached the transport bay and sighed as the Commandant looked at his watch.
"I said 5 minutes Talon, not 15!"
"I had to check on the kids! They come first!"
He sighed and nodded handing her a sheet of paper with numbers on it.
"This is all the information you need for this mission, it's an apartment number and floor level as well as the window you'll be looking in through."
"What exactly and I doing?"
"Look out, that's it. This is the location of Demetri's personal apartment. I just received an electricity bill for the place and it's spiked over the last 3 months. Ever since he vanished."
She felt her heart skip and nodded.
"You'll be there most of the day so make sure to take water and anything else you might need.
A barf bag?
She shook the thought as she nodded again, this time to Cloak, he gave a nod back before his mist surrounded her and she found herself on a roof looking down on a small harbor town. She looked over her shoulder at the building and saw the binoculars laying on the roof, sitting down she started the mission. It was boring work and she let her mind wander as she watched the windows for any movement but saw nothing but the shadows shift across the building as the sun changed position during the day. She could feel her stomach turn against her and more than once had to hang over the side of the building and vomit into the empty ally way, as well as more than one strong hit of vertigo. She was more than happy when Cloak came to retrieve her, she stood on shaky legs, her face pale and chalky.
"You alright Talon?"
She nodded, not trusting herself to answer the man and not vomit on him, he wrapped his mist around her and she felt the sensation of her stomach dropping lower in her body, much like a roller coaster til her feet hit the tile of the HDF transporting bay. She could just make out the Commandant striding towards her, but what ever he was saying was drowned out by the ringing in her ears, tried to take a step forward and felt her world shift as she fell to the left, Cloak catching her swiftly before she hit the tiled floor roughly. Pocket rushing forwards from just returning from her own solo mission, one just like Ali's only elsewhere.
"Is she alright? She looks pale."
The Commandant waved everyone off and motioned for Patch, the man walked forward and took Ali, his thin, yet strong arms holding her gently as he walked through the bay, Ali barely registered any of this was happening til Patch entered the secluded med ward with the woman, he flashed a small flashlight in her eyes making her swat at his hands and growl in irritation.
"Alex, can you hear me?"
She nodded feeling slightly better as the cool air rushed against her skin, slowly her hearing came back to normal as well as her vision widening from the tunnel vision she had been suffering from. Placing a hand on her forehead she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, opening them again she could see Patch holding his hands above her body, a faint blue glow emitting from his palms as he looked for a source of infection or any kind of wound or illness as well, what he did fine, he wasn't expecting.
"What the hell..."
Ali looked down to see his hands hovering over her stomach, his face knitted into a deep frown.
"What the hell what Patch?"
"Just shut up a second."
She matched his frown as she watched him move his hands away only to place them gently back above her stomach, his face turning into on of shock.
"That's impossible...there's just no way..."
"Dammit Patch what ever it is just get rid of it!"
He looked at her before vanishing into a small store room bringing back a bulky machine, lifting up her shirt before she could protest she screeched as a cold gel was squeezed onto her stomach and a small wand ontop of that, the next thing she heard made her stop instantly. The faint sound of a heart beat came from the machine and he turned it so she could see the screen.
"Are you sure you want me to get rid of it Alex?"
She looked at the screen shocked as the small image on the screen moved showing her a blurry, black and white vision that made her throat tighten.
"P-patch...what is this?"
"Alex...that's your child..."
She reached up, her fingers touching the screen lightly as the small child moved, she could make out small hands and feet and felt a tear slide down her cheek til a sudden thought struck her.
"Wait...how far along am I?"
Patch typed a few things into the key board on the monitor and looked at her.
"I'd say around 3 months or so.'
She did the calculations in her head, and than did them again, and than yet again...each time getting the same result, she looked up as Patch put the machine away and wiped the gel from her stomach, helping her sit up he walked away and came back with a glass of water, two pills and a small container of pills as well.
"Vitamins, take one every morning and one at night. They'll help with nausea and fatigue."
She nodded, on auto pilot as he helped her stand and allowed her to walk away, his voice getting her attention.
"Oh and Alex, congratulations, it really is a miracle...you shouldn't even be able to get pregnant with the damage you took from the steel shard."
She nodded, still numb as she pocketed the vitamins and pulled out her phone, typing a text to Marcus asking him to meet her in her room, she got there a few minutes after him, he looked just as disturbed as she felt but she ignored it for the time being as she sat down heavily on her bed, making the pillows bounce and alerting the marked man that something was seriously wrong.
"Ali?"
She looked over at him, silent tears trailing her face, he stood and swiftly made his way to her side the sudden urge to be held by him welled up inside her but she squelched it quickly as her hand drifted to her stomach.
"Alex, you look like your about to be sick, what's wrong. Talk to me. Why are you crying?"
"I just got back from seeing Patch...I collapsed after my solo mission today..."
"My gods, are you alright?"
She nodded, than shook her head...than nodded again.
"I...Marcus I'm..."
"What...please your scaring me Ali. What is it?"
She looked up at him, her chocolate eyes meeting his dark brown as she took a deep breath.
"Marcus...I'm pregnant..."
He blinked for several seconds, the information seeping in slowly til he stood up suddenly.
"What? But I thought-"
"So did I..."
"How?"
"I dunno...Patch said by some miracle..."
"Is he sure?"
She nodded remembering seeing the tiny vision on the screen, tears slipping from her eyes again, Marcus sat down slowly next to her and put his arm around her, nothing flared between them, the seriousness of the situation negating anything else between them.
"Do you know how far-"
"About 3 months..."
"Than that means it would put it-"
"The beach...I've done the calculations over and over in my head a dozen times and every time it's the same result."
"Than that would mean that..."
She nodded slowly as her tears began to fall faster.
"Demetri is the father..."
She remembered his promise of a family to her...no one knew where he was to tell him that he fulfilled the promise, except the single biggest puzzle piece was missing, Demetri himself. She turned her face into Marcus' neck, just looking for comfort, which he gave as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and held her, he could feel her shoulder shake as she cried. Sighing he lay down on the bed with her in front of him, his hand resting on her stomach and now that the child had been discovered he could feel the tell tale bump of where it was developing. She pulled a pillow close to her chest as Marcus held her whispering comforting words to her as he tried to comfort her. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Marcus mind had been occupied as of late, the conversation he had with Ali was weeks ago, his feelings were conflicted again. This time, it was for reason all together different, the name she used for him, that one particular nickname constantly crept back into his mind. Koibito was that single word, a word he hadn't heard since he was with Masan, he remembered that she called him that when others were around. Everyone assumed it was just a common nickname she gave him specially, and they were right about it being special, she would whisper the word to him at night. Hearing it come from Ali, it had been exhilarating at first, the way she whispered it so sensually to him when they would lay there at night, when he would glide a hand across her skin. But, the it became abundantly clear that Ali calling him that, was no coincidence. It had occurred to him, one night when she was sleeping, he hadn't been able close his eyes at all, his mind working too fast to get any rest. He recalled when she had touched his mind, the energy reaching down into his memories. He recalled her pulling something out, something he didn't care about at the time. It became all to clear what it was when she used that word, she had taken some of Masan with her from his mind. It tore at his heart, all of the burden he shared with Ali had firmly planted itself back on his own shoulders, and he found the weight far greater then before. He didn't want Ali to love him because of a memory left by Masan, he wanted her love to be genuine.

As days went by, he had started to distance himself from her, hoping to find and answer for her desire for him. He dared not touch her with his magic again, not wanting to risk more of Masan to pass on to her. He craved Ali's touch, he craved for those nights they had spent together for so long now and now he couldn't even touch her. He couldn't use his magic, the rune on her skin stopped flaring to life, as he cut his connection with it. He remember the night he had done that, his heart had been torn to shreds doing it, he wept that night. Losing his connection with Ali had almost broken him, what he had done next had done further damage, beyond unbearable for his soul. The training room had been hot that day, the mirrors had a light fog to them and the pungent smell of sweat was obvious. He had been training again, three times a day now that he was trying to keep his mind occupied. He remembered the events that had happened, recalling the words had been too painful.

Ali had made her way into the training room as well, when he had seen her his heart jumped into his throat. All he wanted to do was embrace her again, tell her everything was alright. Every fiber of his being craved that moment, instead he had to tell her they couldn't see each other, that things were progressing too fast, or something other lie he had come up with. He remembered that look in her eyes, the look of someone lost, of someone drowning and needed someone to throw her a lifeline. He had thrown that out there for her, and then yanked it back, leaving her to wallow in her own misery. Ever since that day, he had been functioning as minimal capacity, he could hardly look her in the eyes because every time he wanted to say sorry. He wanted to say those three words that would fix it all, that would mend his heart, and hers. Now, he saw in his room, on the couch that had hardly received any use until recently. He didn't sleep anymore, having to meditate to feel even a little bit refreshed and even then he could hardly make himself do use the hourglass to put himself to rest. The few times he had done it, Shadowthrone had appeared once, calling him a bald headed moron for letting her go. The words had stung more then he could have ever imagined, and instead of arguing with Ammanas, he had simply taken it. His soul too battered and worn out to even bother, Shadowthrone hadn't bothered returning, knowing he wasn't getting anywhere with him.

He rubbed his face with his tattooed hands, repeating the motion over and over again, trying to make it all go away. He hadn't felt this terrible in a long time, hadn't felt so down trodden or broken. Rubbing his face some more he stood from his chair and paced, fighting with himself on what to do, and still unable to decided. He suddenly heard a knock at his door, he stared for a few moments, wondering if he had actually heard the knock or had hit something to make the noise. He heard the sound again, his heart beating as he could only hope it was Ali.

"Who is it?" A gruff voice came from the other side.

"It's Blues, Marcus." Marcus sighed as he rubbed his face again, his heart sinking once more.

"Come in, its open." The door slid open and Blues stepped in, walking in casually, almost too casual but Marcus hardly noticed as he was so wrapped up in his pathetic thoughts.

"Is this a bad time?" Blues taking notice of his friends haggard condition, Marcus looked up at him and shook his head.

"No, not at all. Please sit." Blues removed his swords at his waist, setting them down beside him. Marcus hadn't noticed he was carrying his blades, he only did that when he was going on a mission.

"You just return from a mission Blues?" He shook his head.

"Nope, just been wandering the halls for awhile." Marcus dismissed the topic, taking a seat on the bed across from Blues. He calmed his mind enough to regain some of his composure. Looking at his friends, Blues had a carefree look to him, a small grin on his face that seemed odd.

"Why did you come here Blues?" He remained silent for a few seconds, his attention seemingly elsewhere before speaking.

"I had a vision Marcus."

"That's your power Blues, you can see peoples immediate futures." Blues shook his head before speaking again.

"No, I had a long term vision. I saw things I didn't know I could see." Marcus' eyes widened, the implications of Blues powers growing was astronomical. If he could see long term visions he could alter history at a whim. Marcus leaned in, his attention fully focused on him. Seeing now, that his old friend was dressed in his battle armor.

"What did you see Blues?"

"Nothing I can talk about really Marcus." Marcus groaned in frustration.

"You can't just come in here, talking about a longer term visions and not tell me about it. It could change a lot of things if altered." Blues nodded to his words.

"I know, that's why I can't tell you. Too much is at stake, I need to handle it alone."

"Then why come here my friend? Why talk to me?" Blues attention focused on Marcus now. His eyes took on a lethal glare.

"I wanted to give you my swords." Marcus' mouth parted to speak, but no words came out. He was dumbfounded by his friends words.

"I can't accept them, you need them Blues. I've seen you stop bullets with those things. I can't take them." Blues grinned at the memory.

"It's alright Marcus. I won't be needing them where I am going. I'm leaving for awhile, I know I can trust you to keep them safe. Just like Iron Bars trusted you." Marcus face widened in surprise at his last words.

"Is Iron Bars..."

"Dead, last week." Marcus simply stared now.

"How?"

"He died in the field, reports fuzzy. You should look at it sometime, you might glean more from it then I did." Marcus caught his words there, the double meaning hidden in his sentence.

"Blues, just tell me whats going on." Blues rose form his seat, lifting the swords and setting them beside Marcus now.

"I'm sorry my friend. But, this is goodbye for now, as the last remaining member of the Crimson Blades I set off on my final mission before I retire for good. Keep them safe Marcus, you've always been like a brother to me." Blues walked to the door, sliding his card and stepping out, stopping the door way, he looked back over his shoulder.

"Oh and Marcus." The marked man looked up at him with disturbed eyes.

"Just say it to her." Blues vanished with his final words. Marcus slumping down on his bed, laying down now he looked at the ceiling. The words he spoke all had double meanings, everything was made cryptic for a reason. But why? He suddenly heard his phone buzz, reaching over to his nightstand he grabbed it and opened it. He suddenly shot up when he saw it was from Ali, a text messaging ask him to meet her in her quarters. He rose quickly, tossing the phone aside as he walked out of his room. Heading down the halls to her quarters, he closed of his mind for now, his emotions sealed away for the moment. The disturbed look on his face followed as he stepped into her room, seeing her taking a seat on the bed heavily. He walked over to her, seeing a look of confusion and sadness. They shared the same feeling right then, even without the runes.

"Ali?" Tears trailed down her face now, no sound followed but her eyes locked on his and he saw how scared she really was. Her hands settled on her stomach as he sat beside here.

"Alex, you look like your about to be sick, what's wrong. Talk to me. Why are you crying?"

"I just got back from seeing Patch...I collapsed after my solo mission today..."

"My gods, are you alright?" She nodded, than shook her head...than nodded again.

"I...Marcus I'm..."

"What...please your scaring me Ali. What is it?" She looked up at him, her chocolate eyes meeting his dark brown as she took a deep breath.

"Marcus...I'm pregnant..." He blinked for several seconds, the information seeping in slowly til he stood up suddenly.

"What? But I thought-"

"So did I..."

"How?"

"I dunno...Patch said by some miracle..."

"Is he sure?" She nodded to him. Marcus mind fluttered around at the idea of her having a baby, he didn't see how it was possible. But it didn't matter, it explained so much to him. All of her random sickness', the eating habits, everything became clear to him. And everything came down on him like a massive fist, his words felt like a slap in the face now. Almost like and insult when he said they should stop seeing each other. He sat back beside her, wrapping her in his arms until he found the right words.

"Do you know how far-"

"About 3 months..."

"Than that means it would put it-"

"The beach...I've done the calculations over and over in my head a dozen times and every time it's the same result."

"Than that would mean that..." She nodded slowly as her tears began to fall faster as the timing clicked in his mind, the answer appearing instantly.

"Demetri is the father..." Marcus didn't know what to say then, all he could do was hold her close. Her tears pouring out as he tried to grasp the gravity of the situation. In his mind, this was the only time he would ever get to say anything more to her that was significant, Blues words suddenly flashed in his mind. Haunting him for the next few moments tat seemed like and eternity. He pushed her away just enough so he could look into her eyes, the tears still sliding down her face.

"Ali, I'm sorry." He whispered to her, his own feelings braking loose of the barrier. He touched the rune on her palm, bring it back to life and with it the connection between them. He welcomed the sudden floor of feeling, of all the things he missed. He hoped she felt the same now.

"Please forgive me. I should never have said those words to you. They were the wrong words." She looked at him, the tears subsiding slightly as she tried to understand what he was getting at. Her eyes widened as she suddenly realized what he was doing.

"I love you Ali. I'm sorry for all of it." He knew she might not say it back, he didn't care though. He had set it free, had let those three little words loose on her world. He didn't know if she answered him back, he felt her hand on the back of his neck suddenly causing him to look down at her. Though only a minor set back after last months failed mission of retrieving the Commandant's pass code, Sybille was able to extract other information from the various bases using Demitri as his pupper, but he became more than that, the giant was now his fully developed slave. Kneeling at the presence of his voice, begging for more pain like it was a drug to keep the giant going about his activities, inducing pain on his own to remind his master that he was truly his to own and dispose with at Sybille's whim. The long training had finally finished as the Wind Warlock grew new powers on his own, and with the aid of Sybille's runes, the final mission was ready to unfold. In Demitri's apartment, the giant sat straight in his chair, arms hanging lazily at his aides as the hung in the air, lifeless and without a care. The giant's eyes now fully white, no soul left to be found inside the once proud and respected Commander of the HDF, just a slave for pleasure, pain, rage and damnation to those who crossed his path or his masters. The giant stared at the computer screens, all dark and lifeless as the voice once again echoed the giant out of his mental entropy.

(My slave, the time has come to make out attack) Sybille's voice spoke in his regular tone, there was no need to mask it anymore with Demitri fully transformed.

"Yes Master, what shall you have this one do?" Demitri's head shot up, feeling the newly welcomed pain in his body made the man smile sickly, drips of blood slipped from his fingers from the lacerations he gave himself with his own wind cutting technique. Scare upon scar covered his writs on both ends, even new ones opened on top of larger gashes as they continued to seep crimson liquid from his body.

(Prepare yourself slave, and do my bidding) Demitri only smiled as he stood up from his chair, the rune in the center of the mans broad chest glowed, covering the giant in a black spandex suit, almost as if it were another skin, the suit hugged his body, exposing every muscle the man had until it reached his neck. A small armored skin as Demitri slipped on his dark blue, not tattered and ravaged jeans before he went to his mattress. A black collar, leather and flexible was placed on there, Demitri knelt before his mattress, knowing he was allowed an asset trinket to be worn by his master. (You are now my slave, this collar will never leave your side, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?) The voice roared, Demitri merely nodded as the collar vanished, but reappeared around the giants neck, having a tight grip once it was placed. The giant adjusted his breathing for a moment before standing up once again, flexing his muscles as he transported inside the HDF base, ending up in a lone corridor during the afternoon, no one seemed to be occupying the hall as he looked around at the ready. As Demitri continued to walk, something inside of him tingled, a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time, it was strange to the man. Almost like something was calling him, still hesitant, the giant walked down as if he knew where his body was taking him. After a short walk down a couple of halls, Demitri came to a room, seeing the door cracked slightly, he hugged the wall as he listened to the conversation inside. Not everything could be made out clearly, but the giant peered inside to see a woman and a tattooed man talking, he did not recognize the tattoo's man, but he did remember the female clearly. She was the only person left in the photo from the island, Demitri and gene had been erased, along with Demitri's knowledge of his team members, including his own self.

"This one...knows that woman" The giant whispered to himself as he continued to look and listen the best he could, it finally hit the man. "That's...that's Alex...my Alex!" Waves of weird emotions struck the soul less man, bringing his hazel eyes back as he fell to his knees, tears of joy flowed down his face, he was stunned by his own memories coming back to him, but something was amiss. He felt threatened by the tattooed man who sat with her and held her tight. The last words he heard crushed the man as the words rang in his ear.

"I love you Ali...." Her name echoed in his mind, the giants blood boiled as he sprang to his feet and punched the door down, making the steel entrance frame bounce on the carpeted floor hard, shocking the two inside as they peered to the entrance. What they saw, was something they would have never expected, especially at the time Ali informed her condition to Marcus. Both stood up from the bed and gaped. Ali stared at her changed lover, he was different and his presence scared her a little bit, Marcus moved in front of the woman to protect her in her fragile state of health.

"Demitri...it...its you" Her emotions took over her more than she realized, her own tears forming up again as she looked at her lover, Demitri standing tall and ready, his gaze never leaving Marcus.

"Y-you love her?!?! SHE IS MINE!!!" Demitri growled, he could smell something though, sense something. The woman he loved had been touched, and from someone else besides him. A run underneath his foot activated, showing a lingering aura that swirled the two. Even if it had not been recent, it remained. Sybille taught the giant to detect scents and traces of scent from one of the runes, and now, Demitri was sure something had happened. But he didn't want to believe it, his judgement was clouded with Marcus' words to his love. "You disgusting woman, how could you do this to me? How could you let him even touch you? He's nothing but a failure to the HDF code" Demitri clenched his teeth and fists hard. Ali tried to protest, but Marcus held her back.

"Demitri, where have you been? We're been loo-" Marcus cut off his words when he saw Demitri spill tears himself, angry tears as he shook his head. In the mans mind, the photo of Ali on the island appeared, and now, Ali vanished from the photo, leaving only the sandy beach and wildlife scenery left to be seen, everyone was gone to him. Demitri roared and grunted loud, causing Marcus to whisper an incantation just in case. The giant opened his eyes, clear white again as he smiled.

"This one will serve his master and destroy this one's master's enemies!" Demitri charged at the two, but Marcus' incantation sent his own wind attack to push the giant back a little until he fell on his back. But with skill, Demitri rolled and stood on his feet once again. "A dark mystic shall now claim this one" Demitri charged wind in his hands, but unlike his attacks before, they held more power in each strike.

"Demitri, we are your friends, your family. Stop this at once" Marcus ordered, but Demitri had already sent a couple of blasts towards them. Grabbing Ali in a swift motion, the two dove to the ground as the blasts went through the wall, creating large craters where the once steel walls were. Both soldiers looked up as more came their way, nearly missing each blast, Marcus tossed Ali in the bathroom as he dove out of the way once again, facing off against his former commander.

"This one shall annihilate the dark mystic" Demitri smiled wickedly as he drooled from the sides of his mouth. Marcus narrowed his eyes as his palm runes lit up.

"We shall see" Swiftly he made his way towards Demitri, the two connected their energies and began their assault, hitting one another and dodging several attacks, Demitri sticking with his wind powers while the mystic used the elements to counter and perry with his own attacks. The room slowly destroyed bit by bit as they clashed, much like the fight with Tempest, two powerful entities at their all. Marcus managed to duck underneath one of Demitri's attack, giving him ample time to place his hand on the giants chest and he repeated a chant to deal a powerful blow, but his hand was shocked as it backfired, sending the mystic to the bed bouncing, once again rolling away from a wind blast. Marcus stood up, breathing heavily as he looked at the giant dumbfounded when his attack did not work. Demitri laughed to himself as the rune underneath his armored skin shinned bright, red, showing a little to those who viewed it. Marcus caught a small glimps of the sketch, but was distracted when Ali came out of the bathroom, standing at Marcus' side as she pleaded.

"Enough Demitri, this isn't like you" Her words stung the giant, his eyes going back to hazel as he stood breathing heavily, Marcus too the time to chant a spell while Ali tried to sooth the raging beast. She inched closer and closer to the man as he stared off into his own world as he stared aimlessly at her. "Demitri...you have to understand something. Please listen, we tried to find you for months. We couldn't, we were worried, all of us. The whole team..." She continued, the giant thought hard about what she was saying, but nothing added up. What team? Who were they? He's never seen this woman before in his life, but at the same time, her figure and face seemed familiar. Yet, he was moved by her words a little, the giant was hesitant, taking small steps back as she continued forward slowly. "Demitri, please listen to me" Ali tried her best to sway her lover, the giant hit his back against the wall, scaring him as he charged up another wind blast as an impulse, Marcus took it as a sign of aggression, letting his magic fly from his palm, blasting Demitri directly in the chest with a fire blast. The giant yelled as his eyes turned white, extending his hand, he launched his own wind blast at the two, but instead of hitting his attacker, the blast connected with Ali's chest, sending the woman screaming as she flew back on the bed. Marcus' heart skipped, he could see the pain in her eyes, the betrayal, the loss, it had seemed as timed slowed down when she was struck. Her body slowly snapping back, her hair and head moving with her flow as she bounced on the bed. He was concerned for the woman he truly cared about as she fell unconscious upon impact.

"ALEX!!!" Marcus shouted, firing more fire blasts towards Demitri in rage, his runes lighting up, giving his added strength as the mystic released emotion and pain in his volleys of raw power. Demitri grunted as they impacted him making dents in the wall larger and larger until it gave way, sending the giant through the steel and into the hallway. Demitri only smiled, the pain seemed to give him energy as he coughed up blood, he took the opportunity to charge another attack, but his master has interrupted.

(Save them for later slave, we have work to do, you will NOT FAIL THIS MISSION!!!) More pain coursed through his body, but his master was correct, bigger plans had to be settled first. Demitri stood and made his way down the hall, smiling as he tried through his white eyes. Marcus dove to Ali's side, watching her body twitch as she coughed up blood with every breath she took.

"Ali, oh Gods Ali hang in with me, please" The mystic pleaded as he examined her wound, a large bruise started to form as the young woman choked for air more and more. Demitri made his way further and further towards the higher ranked building once again, the alarms had sounded in the base, alerting the staff of an intruder. Turning another corner, Demitri stopped in his tracks when he saw a familiar face to him, but the name was impossible to think of as the soldier stood planted as he looked up at the muscular man.

"It's Blues, try not to forget next time" Blues clenched his fished as Demitri glared at the small man.

"This one has no quarrel with the likes of you. This one is on a mission for his master" Demitri grunted as he stood in his fighting stance.

"Yes, I know. But you are no slave to anyone Demitri Athens, least of all Sybille's slave" The little man moved his right leg back, chest puffed ready to fight. Demitri growled when he mentioned his masters name.

"YOU ARENT WORTHY OF HIS POWER, NOR ARE YOU WORTHY TO LIVE FOR HIM" The giant's runes activated, sending small metal spikes from his palms towards Blues, skillfully the man dodged as he flipped and took cover. Without his swords on him though, he was limited to his attacks. But, Blues is an expert in close combat, he was the one who trained Demitri years ago in the regular military armed forces. More and more the giant unleashed different attacks on the man, Blues came in close a couple of times to deal harsh kicks and punches to the giant, attacks that would break normal fighter's bones, but the rune on Demitri's back healed the giant after every critical blow he received. More and more Demitri attacked, able to land a couple of scratches on the man, Blues saw an opening and thought best to take it, once close he raised his fist to connect with Demitri's chin, but was stopped when his armored black suit came to life on its own, leaving Demitri's body and surrounding Blues, the form engulfed the man, holding him still. Blues struggled with all his might as Demitri smiled down upon him, eyes glowing bright white in the darkness of the corridor, the giant slowly made a couple of steps until he was towering the soldier, his runes shinned bright white all over as he glared. Blues took note of each rune and sighed.

"So, that's how it was done. Well played Sybille" He grunted, but his protest against the suits grip stopped as the man looked up at his former ally. "Help will show itself when you least expect it" Blues gave a cocky smile, his face was covered by Demitri's palm as the giant squeezed and gripped tightly.

"Not in time thought" Demitri grunted, slowly withdrawing his palm away from Blues face, the small trail of wind escaping from his mouth as the soldier tried his best to calm his shaking body, when the last bit finally came out, Blues eyes closed as he smiled. Demitri formed the air taken into tiny little crystal shards, about 50 of them in his palm bunched together.

(Marcus...until we meet again...my frie-) His thoughts were cut off as the shards passed though the soldiers chest at the left side, directly at his heart. Once by one the wind shot through the mans body, hitting the steel flood as they dug into the metal, blood dripped from their form as more and more shot through the mans chest. His body shook and convulsed at the pain until the very last one passed through his bloody wound, the black suit released Blues and returned onto Demitri's body, covering up the runes and his figure. Blues stood lifeless for a moment as Demitri walked past the dead soldier, as he walked, he could hear a loud thump hit the metal floor. Demitri only smiled as he transported once again away from the area, once again inside the living quarters of the new recruits. the giant opened his eyes, being shown in full light in the common room of 100 new soldiers, they all looked at him and wondered who the man in black and blue was, his presence alone scared them.

"Who are you" A girl questioned, everyone stood ready to defend, but little did they know who they faced. Demitri did not answer as all the doors suddenly shut themselves and locked in their place, scaring the recruits. Demitri smiled as he made his way towards one of them. Outside of the common room, commotion and screams could be heard, male and female alike as Demitri started his assault on the weakest links. One by one the soldiers attacked with their powers combined, but it was a failed attempt as one by one, the voices died down until none were left. the metal door leading to their corridor opened, only Demitri stood present as he slowly walked out of the room, splotched of blood covered his jeans as the door shut behind the man, he quickly made his way down the corridor. Finally breaching the hallway towards the commanders residences, he strode with pride until two soldiers stepped in front of the man. It was Jeff and Pocket, but the beast did not know them.

"Demmy, this isn't you, stop or we will stop you!" Pocket screamed with determination, ready for action as Jeff stood at her side. Demitri extended his hands and launded a wave or electricity towards the two, sending them through the glass door that lead to the courtyard, their bodies unconscious from the surprise power the man had. Demitri stepped outside, his feet spilling blood as he walked on top of the broken glass, he looked up and the same penthouse he broke into before. Using his runes, the giant vanished and appeared in the same suit, blasting the door down as he rushed into the room, gathering the single book he needed for his master.

(YES MY PET!!! You have done well, now, dispose of the last threat and return to my side) Demitri smiled as he ran from the room and leapt out of the 40 foot tower, diving to the ground as if he were swimming, when the giant hit the ground, he phased through the solid earth itself. Phasing a couple of feet, he finally came to a chamber that appeared to be a large cathedral like structure, with member sitting in its various chairs. But something was wrong to the slave, it seems like they were there on purpose. Demitri landed on his feet, destroying the long dinning table as he crash landed. Not feeling the pain in his muscles and bones, but merely standing and looking around. It was the high counsel chambers, all the members present and accounted for, all 500 of them. As if they were a roman senate, they looked down upon the soldier and gave a lazy glance, feeling no threat. There was an elderly man at the highest chair in the chamber that rose and clapped, making the slave grunt as he charged an energy blast and launched it to him, but with skill and power, the wind blast vanished before it could hit the man, sending only a small breeze to his cloak.

"Very well done my boy, tell me, is this coup worth your execution?" The elderly man joked as he laughed.

"This one will do anything to serve his master, and blood has been spilled. This one's life is not worth your judgement old man" Everyone in the room laughed at the comment, Demitri looked around in rage as he blasted his wind randomly at different member, only for the same effect to happen once again.

"My boy, you showed so much promise, but something is amiss. Never the less, is this the item your "master" seeks?" The old man raised his hand and held the same book Demitri had stolen, Demitri looked at his own hand, it was gone from his grasp. Clenching his fists, the giant unleashed all the powers he had inside of his body, but slowly, every single rune dimmed, one by one they stopped glowing, until only his wind power was of use. That in itself, proved to be useless. The elderly man closed his eyes and sighed at the disappointment he saw in the center ring. "Pavlos....do it" Commandant Shield stepped down from the steps of the counsel members, slowly making his way towards Demitri, his own eyes glowed bright white, but by his own choosing.

"Forgive me son, this is for your own good" With that comment, Pavlos entrapped Demitri in a large protective bubble, the slave merely laughed as he stared at the man he once called father.

"Fooling wretch, you are no threat to this one or my master" Demitri tightened up his frame, blood poured from his various wounds and self injected cuts, but unknown to him, the bubble grew smaller and smaller, cutting off air and closing in. The giant grew worried as he could barely move his arms, then his legs, then anything, the bubble now fitted his whole body like the black armored suit he wore. The suit itself was reacting on its own, trying to breath and escape, but it had no place for refuge, with one swift motion, the Commandant clenched his fist, in turn, clenching the bubble until it broke several of Demitri's ribs, his shoulder blade, arm and dislocated many other bones. The slave was denied oxygen for too long, and the pain was too much for him to accept into his mind and body, the commandant released his son from the bubble, Demitri's body hit the ground like a lifeless doll as his eyes closed for the first time in months. the elderly man made his way to Pavlos side, placing a hand on the commandant shoulder, feeling it stutter as the man cried for his son.

"We have him back, be not worried my friend. But we will detail him to find a solution to this....mess. Until then, he is to be locked with your powers intact. Do I make myself clear?" The man was kind with his words, truly he was to his own son, the Commandant nodded as soldiers placed Demitri in binds, taking him away in a bubble shield made by the Commandant. "Go now, tend to the injured and fallen, you must keep spirits high" The elderly man slowly made his way back to the top seat of the counsel as small chit chat and sadden faces filled the chambers.

"Yes father" The commandant cleaned his face before going out to see the damage that was done.

The first thing she noticed, was pain, white hot and sharp as it throbbed through her entire body, the second was the white walls of the med ward, and the light that was hanging by a couple of wires, a large hole in the ceiling next it. She coughed groaning as it sent pain through her body as she tried to remember what had happened. She frowned as she raked through her memories, her mission, her sickness, going to see Patch...her eyes widened and she tried to sit up only to be forced by down by the man himself.
"Easy Alex, you took a good hit...and I mean a good one. If Marcus had gotten you here any later, there would have been no hope for you or the baby."
She dropped a hand to her stomach.
"T-They baby?"
"Just fine. Thankfully the blast went through your chest and out your back, broke a few vertebra but that was nothing I couldn't handle. Your trachea was bruised and you had severe head trauma, but the baby wasn't harmed at all."
She sighed and wrapped her arms around her torso as she sat up slowly, her body throbbing in the areas Patch had told her were injured, just like everyother time she had been healed. Perfectly fine and ready for duty but still sore as hell. Wincing she looked up as Marcus looked down at her. His face dark and a deep frown etched into his face.
"Marcus...what happened? Where is he?"
"I can't tell you that Ali. If I do, you'll try to find him."
"I'm going to find him one way or another. Whether by you or searching someone's feelings."
"You really want to see him that badly?"
"Marcus...I have to..."
She looked down to her hands and he took the hint nodding slowly.
"Your not going to like what you see."
She nodded, and slipped from the table slowly trying not to jar her sore body, catching a glimpse of herself in the silver table she gasped, her entire neck and chest a dark purple, the bruise showing her how badly damaged she had really been. She closed her eyes as she felt Marcus support her, the walk was painful and more than once the mystic had asked if wanted to stop and turn back, she only shook her head as they went deeper below the HDF building. She stopped for a moment to catch her breath, the sounds she hears chilling her to the bone. A roar made the small stair case tremble, it sounded more like an animal than a person and she looked up at Marcus.
"How long have I been?"
"At least a few hours. He's been like this ever since he's come to."
She nodded and allowed him to lead her further down until he stopped at a large, thick metal door, the grate was open allowing her to look in, she gasped and covered her mouth as she saw him. He was trapped with in a bubble from the Commandant and other various precautions. She gripped the handle and pulled hard, Marcus stopping her.
"You can't. He doesn't know friend from foe. Ali, he'll kill you."
"No, he won't I can reach him. I know I can."
Marcus shook his head as his grip tightened on her arm.
"Alex I won't let you go in there with that thing."
"It's not a thing! It's Demetri and he needs me! I won't just let him suffer like that!"
"You in no condition to be any where near him!"
She put her hand on his chest and pushed him back, his sandals sliding against the floor as his eyes opened in shock that she had enough strength to push him aside, telling him that the night she tried to make him leave, she hadn't even tried. Before he could move she had the door open and was inside. She had moved so quickly that he could have sworn she was at top form. But she took a deep breath and winced as the motion jarred her chest.
"I have to do this."
"You going to get your self and your child killed Alex!"
"Shut up! He doesn't very well know does he. That's now how I want to tell him."
"But you can tell him at the funeral? Oh that's so much better Alex. Have you lost your mind. I just got you back...don't make me lose you again."
She closed her eyes and turned her back on him.
"I can't leave him like this. He needs help and he responded to me when he saw me. He knows me."
"No he doesn't get out of there."
"You want me out so badly, come and get me."
He tried to open the door and looked through the bars shocked as she held up the card key for it, he patted his pockets amazed that she had taken it so quickly with such a small amount of physical contact.
"Alex!"
She ignored him as she slipped the key into her back pocket and slowly took a step towards the beast that was a shell of the man who used to be her lover.
"Demetri...can you hear me?"
His white eyes settled on her and she almost cried as she saw his red framed eyes looking back at her.
"Oh Demetri...what did he do to you..."
She reached forward, her hand shaking slightly, ignoring Marcus as he slammed his fist against the bars of Demetri's cell gaining a growl from the man.
"Stop it Marcus. Please...just, let me."
He shook his head and watched as he bit down on his lip tasting blood, the closer she got the more nervous the mystic got, her hand was shaking as she reached for the grizzled face of her lover, at first she was hesitant and when he pulled back, growling at her like a wild animal she flinched, but she grew braver til she finally placed her small, slender hand on his cheek, almost crying at the feel of his skin under her touch again.
"Demetri...what's happened to you...? Are you even in there any more?"
She rubbed her thumb on his cheek smiling slightly as the motion seemed to calm him some, his glowing white eyes dulling some, his hoarse voice speaking barely above a whisper.
"Warm...warm, soft, sweet."
She felt a tear slid down her cheek and she stood on her tip toes pressing her lips to his softly.
"I love you Demetri. I never stopped loving you. Please if there is even a shred of you left...find it."
His eyes dulled by another shade, his voice strained as he spoke this time.
"Oranges..."
She chuckled through her tears and nodded.
"That's right. Oranges. Your favorite perfume that I wear. Do you remember the smell of it love?"
She lifted her wrist to his nose and felt her pulse quicken as he nuzzled the spot where her scent was the strongest, his lips grazing her skin sending jolts of pleasure down her spine. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath trying to steady her nerves.
"Demetri...come back to me love...please."
She watched as his eyes dulled little by little til they returned to the hazel she remembered so well.
"Demetri. Can you hear me?"
He didn't answer her, only stared at a spot on the wall, his face void of emotion.
"Demetri, please speak to me..."
His voice was gruff and barely his as he spoke
"What?"
"I need you to listen to what I'm about to tell you...and...it might come as some what of a shock but well I-"
"I remember Alex. I heard it all very clearly."
"Demetri, please just listen. It important."
She could feel the tears welling up in her eyes as he cut her off again.
"There's nothing you can say that I want to hear. You let another man touch you...after saying you wanted to be with me...How can I trust anything you ever say again?"
"Demetri just let me explain, please...Y-you were gone...you were gone for so long Demetri..."
"Than you should have waited! Not whored yourself out."
She took a step back, her hand instinctively covering her stomach as she looked up at him.
"Demetri, just please. I don't care if you hate me for that, but there is something I NEED to tell you. Please!"
"I don't want to hear it Alex! I don't want to hear anything that comes from your mouth!"
She could see his eyes slowly turning back to the white that frightened her as she backed towards the door, the key card slipping between her fingers in her haste to escape.
"My master was right, your worthless! Nothing!"
She fumbled with the card til it slid through the slot unlocking the door and allowing her out as she stumbled onto to be caught by Marcus, he looked down at her turned and looked back through the bars of the door.
"Demetri..."
He placed a hand on her shoulder and sighed as she looked up at him with watery eyes.
"You were trying to tell him weren't you?"
She nodded and spun burying her face in his chest, allowing him to scoop her up in his arms and carry her back to her room which had already been repaired, her tired and injured body sending her to sleep before he even made it to the main floor of the base and to her bed room.

Marcus did his best to keep his wits about himself, carrying Ali's limp form through the halls, seeing HDF members scrambling through the compound has they went about repairs. Others secure areas they believed compromised due to Demetri's entry, he saw even more securing the area and putting up new security measures. It all seemed to rush past him as he kept walking, Ali feeling almost weightless in his arms, he looked down at her battered body, seeing her face etched with worry and distress even in her sleep. He was dealing with his own turmoil now, seeing how easily she dismissed his words and his being drove a spike through him that he wasn't sure he would recover from. He replayed the scene in his mind, her walking through the door as she ignored his pleas. Revealing she took his key card, seeing her try to talk to Demetri he felt the knife in his heart, how she touched him. What hit him the hardest, was the sheer rejection Demetri showed towards Ali, his words about what they did while he was gone. He felt he judged her to readily, Marcus was to blame, at least that is how he felt and he wished he could get that across to Demetri.

He made it to the main floor, the commotion having settled down in this area as he continued onward, feeding into his thoughts more and more as he lost track of where his feet took him. He soon found a door before him, not realizing where he was looking at the rune on his door. He looked down at Ali again before turning and walking away from his quarters, tonight they would not be in his quarters, she needed to rest in her own room. He finally managed to get there, seeing a new door in place, momentarily marveling at how quick they were at fixing the place up. Entering the room he walked over to the bed, lifting the sheets quickly and then setting Ali into bed as he covered her up, a slight moan coming from her as he tried his best to night touch her bruises. He moved away and seated himself on the couch in the Commanders quarters, his full weight slumping down as he suddenly felt very tired. Rubbing his face as he laid against the couch, his eyes simply staring as he thought about only moments before Demetri had busted into the room. How he had already felt so weak after what he did to Ali, and with her revelation she had needed him that much more. He couldn't believe how much it had effected him, his own thoughts had become muddled then, his mind now replaying the seconds later, the wild animal that was Demetri crashing into the room.

He hadn't been ready for it at all, after seeing him standing there, his eyes completely white form some foreign power he felt every sense go off in warning. The battle had been hard pressed for Marcus, the runes Demetri had we're strong and did ample damage when he used them right. When Marcus had found some of his runes being ineffective, he felt as if he was gonna lose the fight. His body already aching from exerting tired muscles, his mind numb from the lack of proper rest, the wind attack he had used hit Ali. This was all he needed to trigger the runes on his body, his sudden rage created the burst of magic he needed to finish the fight. When he had sent him through the wall, he had finally gained the time he needed to check on Ali. Her wounds grave, her body limp in his arms as raced against the clock to save her, he had succeed in saving her. That, he would never regret doing even though he felt her slipping through his fingers again, the helplessness of it all strained on him.He leaned forward now, turning his head to look at her still form, still sleeping as he simply watched her. He hardened his heart a bit there, seeing her lay there make him remember their short time together. How it warmed his soul, that moment when he had told her, when he has said to her what he had always meant to say but never did.

I love you Ali

It was all he needed now. He knew he would fight for her, he knew he would try his hardest, he also knew he would probably die in the end. His mind sharpening as that last thought sunk deep into his mind.

"I will not die, not as long as I have you." He whispered half to himself, and half to Ali near by. He rose from the couching, walking over to her quietly he leaned down and gave her a light kiss on her cheek before turning and walking out of her quarters. Walking the hallways he made his way around, thinking about everything going on, how this might had been avoided if he had been able to listen to Shadowthrone again. He soon found himself in the med ward, seeing several body bags laid out in one of the rooms, one that was zipped caught his attention, a blue scarf laying on the top of it tattered and blood stained. He walked toward the scarf, knelling before it as he reached for the zipper, pulling it down slowly before letting it go and then opening the bag hesitantly. He saw Blues' face, his skin cold and his eyes were open, the lifeless look startling Marcus as he looked up at nothing. He reached out and slid his fingers across his eye lids, closing them gently before taking a moment to breath, his grief slowly threatening to overwhelm him he shut his eyes shut tight.

"Why Blues? You could have told me! You didn't need to die." Marcus said to the lifeless corpse, his runes flaring with his spike of emotions. He could see them talking again, the swords still rested in his room, untouched since they had been set on his bed. He zipped the bag up, taking the blue bandanna he tucked it away in his robe before rising and walking away. His mind turning his grief into rage, the runes glowing as he could only assume Demetri had done this. He would of liked to have been there, to stop the death of his friend, to stop another friend from doing the deed. He walked aimlessly now, his blood boiling with the magic pushing his rational thought away, his progression stopped when he came across a familiar face. The runes glow fading as he looked on Pockets sad expression, the color change of her hair still threw him off a bit, the change occurring instantly when they had come back to their bodies. Their eyes opening to the real world and ever since then her hair was a reminder of that.

"Are you ok Calypso? Did you get hurt in the attack?" She shook her head as he emotions became more difficult to read, she wasn't the same girl he had met. She seemed more complete these days, as if her world was in better focus.

"I'm ok Marcus, it was just terrifying. Especially with all the people who are in the med ward, the body bags make me shiver." Marcus recalled the bag with Blues in it, the blue bandanna in his pocket now. He nodded to her.

I know Pocket, its a tough time for us all. I would ask that you check up on the others, make sure that they are ok. Especially Lily and Tank, they don't know about Ali's condition yet." Calypso nodded to him before walking off, her pace calm and even. He instantly kept walking, his mind leading him to his quarters. He stepped through the portal and found the swords laying on his bed as he left them. Sitting down once more, he set the blades on his lap, feeling their weight. He simply stared at them for a long while, letting his thoughts come together as he kept the blades close. Guarding them as if they were a precious treasure, that's what they were to him now, a final momenta from one of his oldest friends. He wept then, letting the grief out for Blues' death, the swords making it harder to slow the tears.

Two days had passed since Demetri's break in, everything seemed to have been repaired, and Ali had gone to see Touch, the healer getting rid of the bruise on her chest and neck and making her look human again. She walked around the base, hollow, her eyes dull and her frame slumped as if she had been defeated. Today however she sat in her room, her knees tucked against her chest as she stared at two photos, one was of her and Demetri at the beach, Pocket had taken it with out them realizing it, they were sitting on the beach together, her sitting between his legs and leaning against his chest as he propped himself up on one arm with the other was wrapped around her waist, his face tucked down into her neck a smile on his face as she had her head leaned back against his shoulder smiling. She remembered that moment clearly, the sunset had been beautiful that night and they had been talking about how the sun had reminded Ali of a large dodge ball. It had been a random observation and she hadn't known that she had spoken out loud til he had ducked his head down and begun chuckling. She wiped a tear away as she picked up the next picture, this one of her and Marcus, his tattooed face split into a grin as his chin rest on her shoulder, close to her own face as he held the camera above them taking the picture; she was smiling in this one as well. She shook her head and stood, grabbing her coat and keycard she stepped through her door and watched as it closed slowly, swiping her card she locked it and looked both ways down the hall before she walked, her pack quick and determined as she walked into the main lobby and pushed the door open, descending the stairs she winced as the rune on her wrist burned and a wave of despair shot through her. She had heard about Blues' death and was certain that Marcus was grieving again, each time this had happened she had gone to him, wrapped her arms around him and held him close as he wept for his friend, the first time she went to him she had woken up hours later laying in the bed next to him, the thin sheet covering their bare bodies. She was confused since she didn't remember anything that had happened that night, she had gotten dressed and left swiftly, she hadn't been to see him since. Her memory had begun to get hazy, some things she didn't even think were he own memories. Visions of Marcus, younger and less marked but if was him, nights of passion that did not belong to her, she shook her head trying to clear it as she hastened her steps til she reached her destination. The brig was cold, and damp today as she made her way through the hall towards the back, they had moved Demetri and she could hear him yelling as he fought the bonds. She nodded to the man standing in front of his cell.
"Commander."
"I'll be here for a while. Take a break. Should something happen I'll trip the alarm."
He nodded and left, his sigh was heavy as he looked back at the man in the cell.
"He's been raging all day. I'm shocked that he isn't hoarse."
She nodded and watched him leave, she pulled her hair back in a pony tail and walked over to the sink filling a bucket with warm water and soap, getting a water bottle from the brig office fridge she grabbed the bucket and a wash cloth and swiped her key card entering the cell that held the large man. He stopped upon seeing her. She looked at him now as a wild animal, he was aggressive, dangerous, and untrusting, his white eyes followed her movements as she walked around the room closing the vents so the air flow was minimal, she walked over to the man and took off her coat watching as his eyes raked down her body, placing the coat on the floor she extended her hand towards him, her wrist towards him and took slow steps til her wrist was under his nose.
"...oranges..."
His eyes dulled as his face became lazy, her perfume seeming to have a calming effect on him.
"Yes, oranges. I'm back Demetri. Are you feeling alright today?"
He looked down and gave her a lifeless smile that chilled her to the bone everytime she saw it, forcing her self to smile back she uncapped the water bottle and held it to his lips urging him to drink which he did. She held her hand under his chin as some of the water ran down across his skin.
"Slow down love. You'll make your self sick. It's cold."
He still gulped the water down swiftly til the bottle was empty, she smiled at him and kissed his forehead making him give her another nerve racking smile which she returned none the less.
"Good job. I'll get you some more in a little bit, first things first, we have to get you clean. These cells aren't that hygienic."
She moved slowly, this seeming to be the most uncomfortable thing for him as he jumped away from her hands while she stripped him, he flinched from her often, the motion making her heart break. He reminded her of a beaten dog, so happy to please yet fearing the abuse that was to come.
"I'm not going to hurt you love. How many times must I say that?"
She started on his hair, stepping on a stool to reach the right height, it was longer than it had been and the shine she remembered it having was gone letting her know his nutrition had gone down hill, she washed it gently, the baby shampoo filing the small room with a fresh clean scent, the later dripping down his face but harmless with its no tear solution. She tilted his head back rinsing it thoroughly, her fingers rubbing his scalp making him groan in pleasure at the contact, the noise almost sounding like a purr from his throat. She shook her head and smiled, being his favorite thing during this routine. Once done she moved the bucket closer and let a small smile grace her lips as he looked at it, almost excitedly. Dipping her hands in she brought out the warm washcloth and began to scrub it along his skin, he had so many new scars that criss crossed along his skin now that it brought tears to her eyes and more than once she fought the urge to shed her tears and hold him, wanting nothing more than to cover the scars with her lips in an attempt to make the pain go away like a mother kissing a skinned knee. She moved to his back, rubbing deep circles into his skin as she washed him, the muscles loosening slightly as she tried to get the kinks and knots from his shoulders, his sighs of pleasure causing her to blush, the noises sounding much more like the sighs he would make during their lovemaking. Closing her eyes she tried to get her thoughts together quickly and went back to the task at hand. Once done washing his body she rinsed him off with another bucket of warm water and toweled him dry. Dressing him in a pair of his clean cloths from their room, she had been doing this for the past two days, trying to make up for her mistakes, trying to bring him back and more than anything trying to find the courage to tell him what he really needed to know. Her hand drifted to her stomach as she stood behind him, the small bump in her stomach sent a wave of warmth through her til she heard him make a soft whine letting her know he was getting hungry. Just on time a tray of food slipped under the door, picking it up she uncovered it and forced back the bile as she spotted the one thing that had been setting her off lately, green beans.
"Ugh...every other day they serve these damn things. Oh well."
Grabbing the fork and gripped the tray and began to feed him while she talked quietly.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you...now matter what you think I truly missed you, and I never stopped thinking about you. W-what happened between Marcus and I...I can't excuse my self...and there is no excuse for what I've done to you. Whenever I was with him it seemed as if...I couldn't control my self. I don't know how to explain it but please...forgive him."
She fed him another fork full of the chicken fried steak from the lunch room watching as he ate it slowly, each time she would extend her arm forward he would lean in and inhale her scent from her wrist, the move sending waves of heat through her each time making her skin come alive and her heart race. This feeling, with Demetri, it was completely different than the times she had been with Marcus, her reactions were different and so were the feelings. Demetri shocked her as his teeth grazed the skin of her wrist, his tongue swiping across the spot making her stutter and drop the fork as his voice growled from his throat. It was deep and raw as his eyes met her's. They were hazel, dulled with a thin layer of white, the most clear she had seen them since she had come down the first time with Marcus. He repeated the motion making her body shiver.
"Deme-Demetri..."
She felt him smile against her skin slightly before his tongue swept the spot again making her gasp, she looked up as she heard the binds holding him rattle and stain against his strength, his voice muffled against the skin of her wrist.
"Soft....sweet...Alex, soft, sweet. Mine."
She looked up at him, his eyes now the clear hazel she loved as he looked at her.
"Mine."
She nodded slowly, her voice not wanting to work as she stared at him, she stood and stepped closer to him, wrapping her arms around his waist she put her head to his chest and sighed as his head dipped down burying his nose in her hair.
"My Alex."
She felt tears well up in her eyes at his words, it was as if he didn't remember her, as if something blocked his memories of her, but in his primal state now he had claimed her as his.
"Yes Demetri, yours. Always yours."
He moved as best he could in his binds and nuzzled her, inhaling her scent before her watch beeped at her, the sound making him growl and thrash against his hold as he tried to grab her, his anger making his eyes turn white again.
"I'm sorry love...it's time for me to go again."
He growled her name again before she left, the guard not looking at her as she shut the door, Demetri's roars beginning again, the man sighed.
"Why is it that he's only calm if your in there with him?"
She didn't answer but only shook her head, turning she walked away pulling her coat back on as she made her way back up stairs and towards Marcus' room the rune on her wrist burning badly the closer she got, reaching his door she didn't bother to knock as she swiped her card and entered, almost instantly her emotions seemed to change and she felt a pull towards the mystic. Seeing him bent over the swords yet again as he wept. He had been blaming himself for so much the last few days and she felt her heart break along with his as he took a shuddering breath and looked up at her.
"Alex?"
She slipped her jacket off and walked towards him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders she pulled him against her holding him, her heart lept into her throat as he wrapped his arms around her waist, she could feel his tears soak into her shirt as she held him, feeling him stiffen as he inhaled the scent of the brig but relaxing as she began to rub her hand along his neck and shoulders to calm him.
"Marcus, how can I help you?"
He shook his head as he held onto her as tight as he dare, she could feel the need in him and wanted nothing more than to sate it, to make the hurt go away, kneeling down she made him look at her as she wiped a stray tear away from his cheek. Leaning forward she gently pressed her lips against his, his eyes widening slightly before dropping closed as his hand found the back of her neck and plunged into her hair as he deepened the kiss. She released a sigh as his hands ran down her arms and back up til his hands cupped her cheeks.
"Ali..."
She gasped as emotions bubbled forth, memories flooding her mind that didn't belong to her and before she could stop it she found herself in what appeared to be a dark room with a solitary window, walking over to it she looked out and saw Marcus and her self. Ali watched herself push Marcus back against the couch, her arms wrapping around her neck as she kissed him deeply, hearing him gasp as her tongue swiped across his lips as she grasped his wrists and guided his hands around her waist as she straddled him, allowing him to slip them under her shirt as she arched against him, his touch sending fire through her veins, breaking the contact of their lips to whisper against his.
"I love you Marcus."
His eyes flew open as he stared at her, silent tears lining his eyes as he pulled her against him hard, causing her to gasp and moan as his lips traveled her neck licking and kissing the flesh exposed with a new fire as he slipped the shirt from her body, sighed happily at the feel of her skin against his, he reached around her unclasping her bra, both moaning as it fell away leaving her open to his roaming hands which sent pleasant jolt along her body as she ran her hands along his chest and stomach before meeting his belt line. He let out a soft moan against her skin as she pulled the button from it's slot on his jeans, suddenly feeling her weight shift as he pulled her to the side and pinned her body under his own as his hands explored her skin.
Ali watched all this wanting to cry, she loved Marcus, this was true, but the last thing she wanted to do was hurt him like this; make him think that she had no more feelings for the man in the cell down stairs only to pull the rug out from under him and leave him broken. Dropping to her knees in the dark room of her self she continued to watch as tears streamed from her eyes.
Within moments Marcus had her bare skinned for his hands to feel, they caressed her skin gently, lovingly as she arched against him, the feel of his touch leaving fire in it's wake, her leg wrapping around her waist and her hand intertwining with his as they became one, their sighs of pleasure mixing together as he pressed his forehead against her shoulder, kissing what ever part of skin he could get in contact with as he began to rock against her. The pace was slow and gentle as they whispered each others names and moans of bliss. Marcus blinked as he felt something land on his skin as he rolled placing Ali straddling him, he looked up at the woman above him to see tears falling from her eyes endlessly.
"Alex...What's the matter?"
She shook her head, leaning forward and kissing him deeply.
"I'm just happy. I don't have to be alone any more. I don't have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night shivering from the cold."
He nodded in agreement and moaned as she began to move above him again til he rolled them back over, he cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing away the tears that slid down her pale cheeks and kissed her as they reached fulfillment together. Coming back down from their high he lifted himself up on his elbow and looked down at her smiling softly, gaining a smile in return, he rolled to his side holding he she planted kisses along his neck causing him to shiver, heaving a final sigh he began to get his breathing under control as he looked down seeing her drift to sleep, but troubled as silent tears still squeezed from her eyes. He bent forward and kissed her tears away as he held her against him.
"....Koibito...
That single word shattered his peaceful thoughts as his runes came to life, telling him that something was seriously wrong as the tears continued to fall from her cheeks, but a content smile stayed in place. He studied her as she lay there, her body pressed to his, but as he reached out with his rune he was shocked to find that Ali felt so far away, but another presence with in her made his breath hitch, a presence he thought he would never feel again.
"Masan?"
Ali's eyes opened, her gently smile still in place as the tears ran down her face, she leaned forward and kissed him softly, pulling away and touching his lips with her finger tips.
"I've been waiting for you to notice me Koibito."
She put her head on his chest as his heart began to race, his pulse quickening and his breathing becoming heavy as his mind reeled. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Marcus's mind raced as his face simply stared, he couldn't understand what was happening. He couldn't make sense of the scene at all, Masan was dead, he had seen the life leave her eyes. This was impossible, she couldn't be here in any form, he hadn't known any runes then to save her, to move her soul to another body. She stared at him with her brown eyes, her look innocent as he gently touched her face, the runes reacting to her as he searched her mind. The memories flooding into him, hers matching his for every word and image. The emotions merging together to form perfectly, he gasped as he pulled his hands away, throwing the sheet off himself, and got off the bed. Standing as he walked over and snatched a towel and wrapped it around his waist, Masan rising as she supported herself on one hand. Marcus took a seat on the couch, words unable to form as he looked at the woman before him.

"What's wrong Koibito?" Marcus stared at her a little longer before leaning forward.

"You can't be here." He said bluntly, her face suddenly took on a hurt look. She looked away from him as she covered herself with the sheet. He sighed and rubbed his face before speaking again.

"Ali..Masan, I didn't mean it like that. I mean, you literally can't be here. I watched you die, 10 years ago." She looked at him now, her eyes held a sort of knowing that didn't sit well with him. His heart still beat furiously, his blood heated at the thought, even the possibility that she some how lived on. He couldn't get his hopes up, Ali had been in his mind before, seeing and pulling memories out as he did to her. But still, this was not something he could pass up.

"Tell me whats going on, how did you end up in Ali's body?"

"Do you remember what my power was Marcus?" He nodded to her.

"You were able to take control of other beings by transferring a part of your soul into their body. I watched you do it, you had me guard your body often enough." She nodded to him.

"That's what happened Marcus." He shook his head as he sat up straight now.

"That's not possible, your powers didn't work like that. You couldn't transfer your whole soul to another, especially with your memories intact."

"That's night I could Koibito. My powers evolved to save my life in a way, at least that is what I think happened." Marcus kept staring, everything about this was wrong. He ran through it in his mind, feeling the storm rising in his mind. This conflicted with everything he thought he knew about their relationship, Him and Ali never existed. Maybe at first it was really Ali, but now, it seemed Masan had been the one you take over. He felt both unbearable amount of joy and sheer horror at what he was seeing, the woman he had loved so deeply had taken refuge in another who he met by chance. He held his hand out to her, she rose still holding on to the sheet as she took his hand with her free one. He pulled her close, her sitting on his lap as he tried to enjoy the moment while he could, resting his head on her chest as she put an arm around his head, holding him close.

"You know Ali is pregnant Masan." Marcus said, looking up at her face as she nodded. He spoke again, this time looking down.

"That means your pregnant again."

"I know. Its another chance, even if the baby isn't yours." Marcus laid a hand on her back, rubbing it gently before gliding it up her spine, his hand resting on her neck as he closed her eyes.

"I'm sorry Masan, I need to see you as you were." He whispered as the magic flared to life, both minds being torn away from their bodies. Ali's body slumping as it rest against Marcus now, his body still with his head laying back. His eyes opened again, looking around and down at himself as he saw he was clothes this time. He looked over and saw her with her back facing him. She was wearing black skin tight pants and a black tank top, her skin burnished with a light brown color, her eyes bright as she turned to look at him. The light brown making his breath catch, the shadow world they were in was silent. They walked toward each other, instantly embracing, their lips locking together with her arms thrown around his neck, his around her middle. They pulled away, their foreheads touching as they held on to each other, his right hand sliding down to her stomach, feeling the slight bulge of the baby. The memory of their child mixing with the reality of Ali's situation.

"I missed you so much Koibito." Marcus nodded.

"I missed you too. Why did it take you so long Masan?" Her face became sad, her hand sliding down to entwine with his.

"I wasn't strong enough, the rune you put on Ali helped, but after she connected with you, it gave me the strength." Marcus' face held a sad look for a moment, Masan used her free hand to cup his cheek, their eyes meeting.

"Whats wrong Marcus? I've waited for this for so long." He nodded.

"I understand, I just don't understand how to feel. You're using her body Masan, I don't even know who I made love to when Ali and I came together." Masan's hand dropped away as a tear slid down her cheek, her face showing her pain.

"It was Ali, her feelings are real enough, but I gave her the rest. After that, I came more forward, until finally tonight happened." Marcus kept her from turning away, clearing the tears from her face as he kissed her gently, holding her tightly.

"Masan, I still love you. I just need time to think, this is so much for me to take in. My heart is over joyed you are alive some how, I thought I would have to die to see you again." A sweet smile crossing her face, the one Ali had been giving him. He kissed her forehead, both of their hands traveled to her stomach again, remembering what they had before it all came crashing down.

"Will you meet me here again? Come to my room tomorrow, we'll come together here alright?" Masan nodded to his request, the world suddenly faded as they stayed close together. Then, his eyes opened wide, Ali still slumped on him. He shifted her body and then set her down on the bed, setting her clothes into one pile neatly before putting on a pair of gym shorts he had. Taking his seat back on the couch, he waited for her to rise again, still unsure on how much she already knew and what he would tell her.

Ali came from the dark room slowly, her eyes opening as she frowned, sitting up she felt a chill creep into her skin, she was sticky with sweat and her body was sore, she sat up slowly grabbing the sheet as it began to fall from her body. She knew where she was before her eyes landed on Marcus, the smell of the room being all she needed, she had been here enough times to know. Finally her eyes landed on the Marcus she stood swiftly causing her head to swim as she pitched to the side losing her balance, he was there almost instantly holding her up. His warm hands on her upper arms, the strange emotions didn't flare, but her own did. She looked up at him and than pulled away, he let her go with out argument as she took a step back.
"What's happening to me?"
He looked down at her, his face unreadable which unnerved her more than anything.
"You might want to sit down. It's not something easy to take in."
"Try me. I just had a front row seat in my own head to you and my body having 'fun'."
This seemed to shock him some as he frowned, but shook his head, he was acting like he had when she had first met him, the closed off man that barely talked to her, it hurt more than she thought it would, her mind going back to the picture she had in her room of his smile. Holding the sheet to her body she put her other on her hip and waited.
"You remember Masan, am I correct?"
"Yeah...you've never really told me about her, but I could gather enough from your memories."
He nodded slowly as he sat back down, further away from her.
"Her powers...her powers allowed her to transfer a piece of her soul into a person and take control of them."
"Alright...I can tell there's more to this than that."
"She some how managed to evolve her powers on the night of her death. Her soul found it's way to you and remain dormant, when I placed the rune on you it allowed her to gain some strength to manifest herself within you."
Ali let it sink it for a few seconds before her eyes widened.
"You mean to tell me that she's been taking over MY body! For how long?"
"Tonight was the first, there were other times where she influenced you, but tonight was only her."
"She used me...to..."
He watched as she sank onto the bed heavily, her face shocked until a frown etched onto her face.
"Are you telling me that this whole time...this whole time that I've felt something for you..."
She felt her throat tighten, she was coming dangerously close to revealing things that she had tried to hide from him. She shook her head and closed her eyes tightly thinking back to all the times throughout the course of the last 3 months of Demetri's disappearance. He looked at her with a frown now, confused him self, Ali took a deep breath deciding that if there was ever a better time to get things in the open. It was now.
"Are you telling me, that the entire 3 months that you and I have been together...you only saw me cause I resembled Masan?"
"Where did you get that idea from?"
"I'm not stupid Marcus! The fact that your acting the exact same where towards me as you did when we first met tells me everything I need to know!"
He looked away from her not meeting her eyes as she continued.
"And now your telling me that your dead lover is using my body to be with you?!"
"She's not dead."
"No, she's just using me. Destroying MY life. Do you even care about the fact that I actually grew feeling for you? Or was it all because I look like her?"
She wanted to scream at him as he didn't answer her, his feelings guarded now as she put her hand in her hair, frustrated beyond anything she could have ever though possible.
"I don't even know what to think about his whole thing..."
She jumped as her watch beeped at her cursing.
"I have to go take care of Demetri...we'll talk when I get back. I'm no where near done with this, or you."
She saw him flinch slightly at her last words before she dressed and walked out of the room, her thoughts jumbled as she walked down to Demetri's cell only to ease as she saw the giant, her mind her own again as well as her feelings and she was more than pleased as her skin tingled as he inhaled her scent, just like all the times before. Going through the routine she let her mind wander. Back to the first kiss she had shared with Marcus, it had been real, she had felt no other emotions but her own...and than the first night she had made love to him, her cheeks burned in shame as she looked up at her primal lover, his eyes staring empty back into her's. She touched his cheek as her watch beeped again and she left him frantic once again. It had been over an hour since she had left Marcus and she planned on telling him everything, all the way up until it had begun to fell like her thoughts were not her own, which was a month ago when she had called him a strange name. Taking a deep breath she entered his room once more, this time prepared for the emotional spike that seeing him caused, he looked up and she felt her own emotions waver. Now that she knew who's emotions she had been feeling it was simple to control them. Before he could open his mouth to speak she shook her head and pointed to his couch.
"Sit. Before you say any of your mombo jumbo, I have things I have to get off of my chest."
He blinked slightly before sitting down and waiting as she paced in front of him trying to get it all together in her head.
"When we first kissed...back on the island, I wasn't being manipulated by Masan, that was me. All me, when I began to come to you while he was gone, seeking comfort in you, that was me too. All of it was me until a month ago when she began to influence me. The first time being when I called you...what was it?"
"Koibito."
"Yeah, that. Up until that point it was all me. My feelings, my emotions...all of it was real towards you Marcus and now I feel as if it meant nothing to you...the night when we came back to your room, right here in THIS room and you made love to me the first time...that wasn't her, or even influenced by her...that was me. I gave-"
She closed her eyes as her throat tightened cutting off her speech.
"I gave my self to you...I had wanted you than, hoping that maybe, just maybe we could heal each other."
She pointed to the picture on his small table, the duplicate of the one she too had in her room. Their smiles showing clearly.
"That was ME."
He only looked at her waiting for her to continue, she put her hand over her eyes as the tears she had been holding back began to flow forth.
"I have your dead lover's mind inside mine, she can take control of my body when ever the hell she wants and come see you...that must make you very happy."
He could tell that she was getting upset now, the magnitude of everything finally setting in, she looked up at him and bit onto her lower lip slightly, she shook her head as the tears continued to fall.
"And so that's it? Now that I'm your precious lover incarnate everything that happened between you and me is void."
She didn't give him time to answer before she started again.
"I tried so hard...so hard to pull us both from whatever dismal abyss we were both in, hoping that we could help each other. Letting my self fall in love with you-"
His eyes widened as her words reached him.
"-allowing my self to feel that maybe just maybe I could find some solace with you, and I did. The time that it was me, and only me. I was happy Marcus. You made me happy, you made me smile when I needed it."
She shook her head and crossed her arms over her stomach to try and comfort her self, her body aching for the comfort of Demetri's arms around her now.
"I had actually begun to second guess my love for Demetri..."
Closing her eyes she shook her head slowly.
"But none of that matter any more does it. So long as you have her, your fine. I can tell her emotions from mine now Marcus. I won't let her take over my body any time soon."
She walked over to him and stood in front of him for moments unsure of what she really wanted to do, looking at his handsome face she wanted to scream at him, hit him, and be held by him all at once. Closing her eyes she tilted her head up and planted a gentle kiss on his lips, her soft ones lingering as she whispered against them.
"This is the last time I'll come to see you."
She turned quickly and walked away, she had been confused through out the entire conversation, not even sure what to say to any of it, but she had told him how she felt about him. Her as Ali, not influenced by Masan or anyone else. She had grown to love him and this is how it ended, she walked to her room and sat on the bed blocking out the emotions within her wanting to go back to him and get lost in his embrace. She looked over the picture of Marcus and her, on this very bed, smiling up at the camera as they held each other. She had been her self that night as well, her smile genuine in the picture, but now she wondered if any of his smiles had been for her...or for the lost love she looked so much like.

His thoughts swam, his heart drowned in her words, could she be right? Could he have only been with her just because she looked like Masan? That thought alone tore at him, his emotions flooding through his mind. He couldn't control it, he tried to block himself off from her, he had tried to do the conversation logically. He had hopped he could do it, she had slammed that wall in front of him the moment he told her the truth. He didn't know what to do, he grabbed the frame of the picture she had only just pointed out to him. He looked at it carefully, the carefree smiles on their face, the looks they had for each other. He remembered the kiss on the beach vacation, how it had influenced his very being, not having felt like that in a long time. Were those feelings just for Masan? Were they really all just for a woman who had died 10 years ago. He shook himself as he touched the picture, his marked face showing a smile he didn't share with anyone, he had only shared it with Ali. He lowered the picture as his head feel back on the couch, his eyes became blurry as he thought about how his old love was doing to her. What would he do? Did he really love Ali, like he had said before. The thought suddenly struck him like lighting, making his heart jump, his eyes widened with the thought and he rose swiftly from the couch. Setting the picture down again, he quickly dressed, throwing on his sandals and stuffing his key card into his shorts pocket.

He opened the door and stepped out quickly, looking around he didn't see Ali right away. She was fast, forgetting that detail, especially when her feelings were on the rise. He rune showing the direction she was in. He instantly head that way, some HDF recruits were exploring the halls, they approached him with a giddy look on their face, seeing the Marked man with just gym shorts and his sandals on showed most of his tattoos was as close as anyone got to seeing them all. Seeing the extent he went to use his powers, he ignored them all, his actions becoming frantic as he wadded through the recruits as he felt the rune call to him. He understood what she meant now, he could feel two emotions touching his mind, both he was intimately familiar with and he could now distinguish. He continued forward, the recruits clamoring quieted down as they saw him on the war path.He ran through the hall now, loosing both of his sandals and not caring at all. He finally reached his destination, the Commanders office, sliding the key card he heard a rejection beep. He slid it one more time, the beep happening again, placing a hand on her door he whispered in a language fueled by his raw emotions now. The door slid open and he quickly stepped in, looking over he saw Ali holding a picture frame in her hand, she turned at the sound of his foot steps, he saw she was holding the same picture he had been but minutes ago.

He was breathing slightly heavier then normal, her face etched with anger as she tossed the picture on the bed. She stormed forward, both of her hands hitting him square in the chest, his whole body shifted six inches from where he previously stood.

"Get out Marcus! I said I didn't want to see you again and I meant it! Just get out of here." He stood firm as she came at him again, this time he grabbed both of her arms. She struggled against his grip, finding himself at a disadvantage as he was trying to hold her but avoid from hurting her. His patience was wearing thin now, he could feel his own emotions breaking through, he then let down the walls. His feelings taking over him as he released her arms and instantly leaned down, lifting her off the ground and putting her down on the bed. Pinning her arms as she tried to fight him, avoiding her kicks he let his feelings take over, holding nothing back as he pressed his lips to hers in a desperate, passionate way. Marcus pulling away to stand up over her, she sat up from her place on the bed, ready to speak before he cut her off.

"No Ali, you are gonna hear what I have to say even the god damn mambo jumbo and you will listen even if I have to pin you on this bed again!" She stopped as she could now read his emotions now, the clear view of everything he was feeling could be seen in his eyes. She didn't know what to say as her own mind was filled with conflict.

"You were right about how you look. You do look like Masan, it's what drew me to you in the first place." Her face grew angry, her eyes held the hurt as she prepared to scream at him. He stopped it by cupping her face in his hands, bringing their faces close together.

"But that is all you share. And even in that, you both look different, I see it in your face, in your eyes. The way you act is never what Masan would do."

"That just mea-"

"Masan is dead Ali, I watched her die 10 years ago. Her mind is in her, but I lost my Masan years ago." Ali stopped fighting as he stood straight up again.

"I didn't know she was in there, I didn't keep this relationship going because I thought I could bring her back. I didn't mark you with that rune as a clever trap, I did it all because of what beats in my chest, because my heart lead me here." His eyes blurred again as he saw hers welling up too.

"Every word I ever said, every time we kissed, every touch we shared I shared with you and only you Alex Talon!" She rose slowly from the bed as he saw the tears flowing down her face, his hands coming up the rub the tears away.

"I love you Ali, I told you that only knowing your touch. I only love you Ali, and I do this for us." He reached out and touched her palm, the rune flared to life as he entwined his fingers with hers. Letting his feelings filter into her, letting her see everything he really felt, what he really wanted this to go. Even letting her know what his heart felt when she said she had loved him with her own words. The rune on her hand changing, new lines appearing as it crossed with the old one, she pulled her hand away to look at the runes infused on her hand. She didn't comprehend what he did as his face remained open to her now, his eyes and body showing his inner most thoughts.

"Now we'll see if you really do feel the same Ali." He came forward, wrapping his arms around her as he touched his lips to hers, Ali returning the gesture with her arms thrown around him as they fell further into the passion of the kiss. She didn't feel another presence, no other thoughts crowding her mind that weren't hers.

"What did you do Marcus?" a single tear slid down his face as he straightened out his posture.

"I suppressed her thoughts and feelings. Its just you now Ali, she's still in there, but there is nothing she can do in her sleep." She held her runed hand to her chest as he saw her smile, her eyes however still wept freely.

"But why Marcus?"

"Because Masan and I were together once, 10 years ago. This is now, Alex, and I'm not going to ruin another chance at happiness, for either of us." Their hands intertwined, their foreheads pressing together as they simply stood there.

"Why me?"

"Because I've said it before, I would only fight for you. I will not die as long as I have you Alex." Ali's hand drifting down to her stomach, Marcus hand followed as he slowly spun her around. Her arm across her middle now holding his hand still as he kept his hand on top of hers, both feeling for the baby growing inside of her. Marcus gave her a kiss on her cheek, whispering into her ear.

"I'll be here for you, and the baby Ali. No matter what." He saw the small smile on her face, he also felt the slight shudder from her. His own mind interpreting the shudder as her sadness for Demetri. He could only hope he would prove to be as good a father as Demetri would of been. Edited by Dassem Ultor

The night that followed the conversation with Marcus still burned in her memory as she walked down the halls towards the brig. It had been a week since Demetri had been caught, he was slowly starting to trust her in his primal state, no longer flinching from her, no longer growling as her watch beeped only letting out a small whine at the loss of her company. Today how ever was different. He was violent as she entered the bring, his voice echoing through the many halls causing her to cover her ears, his scream echoing off the walls. She looked at the man on guard and pointed towards him, the man shrugged before he flinched as one of the chains holding the giant banged against the wall furiously. She walked past, gathering all the things she would need for the morning routine, the first being different than the others as she grabbed his toothbrush, hair brush and small elastic band to hold his hair back. Grabbing a wash cloth she soaked it and wrung it out so she could wash his face for him. Finally getting the bottle of water she nodded to the man and he opened Demetri's cell, Ali gasped as she took him in. Over the time he had been down here with her care he had started to look better, his skin no longer so pale, his eyes no longer etched in red and purple bags, his hair had begun to shine again and over the course of a night, he looked like the shell of a man that had bust through her door.
"Demetri?"
His white eyes landed on her and a growl tore from his throat shocking her, she stepped forward, her arm held out towards him, her wrist facing him; as soon as he caught the scent of her perfume he seemed to lose what ever aggression had taken over him. She fed him his breakfast, his small nips and licks of her wrist being more frequent now that he was used to her coming to see him. This time however, he did not nip, or lavish the spot with his tongue, she froze as she felt his lips press firmly against the veins in her wrist, what he said next made her unfreeze and stare at him.
"...Alex...love Alex..."
She felt her heart break as shame burned through her, every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner she would be down here taking care of him, her heart beating for him, but when she went back to the surface she searched out the other man that held her heart, the tattooed man and her having grown closer than she would have ever thought possible, her large room now holding them both and she found herself pulling away from Demetri ashamed of herself. She finished her routine quickly before slipping out and rushing back to the room that held her only salvation at the moment, she entered the room breathless and pale; Marcus noticed instantly as he stood from where he sat at the small table looking through a book.
"Alex? What's the matter?"
She reached for him glad when he responded and took her hand, pulling her against him he supported her weight as she leaned on him.
"D-Demetri..."
"What about him? Did he try to hurt you?"
She shook her head as sat down at the table after allowing him to lead her to it, he slid his chair closer to her's and grasped her hand with his own.
"Talk to me Ali."
"He said he loved me..."
"Even in that state? I didn't think he would be able to distinguish..."
He stopped as he finally took in the look on her face.
"Alex, look at me"
She did with no hesitation and he cupped her cheek.
"I'll be here for you no matter what. Just tell me what you want."
She nodded opting to show him rather than ask him, grabbing his hand she pulled him forward and pressed her lips to his, he took the hint instantly and wrapped his arms around her, she pulled away from him and tucked her head against his chest taking deep breaths as he simply held her. The action making them both relax. After a few moments she sighed and stood, leaning down she kissed him once more and walked into the kitchen, opening the fridge she let out a small scream as something black fell from the fridge door and began to roll across the floor, Marcus rushing to grab it.
"Alex, you have to be cautious. What if this had gotten damaged?"
"What the hell is it?"
"It's a special artifact that amplifies my meditation circles."
"Looks more like the thing from the black lagoon, besides that you don't meditate anymore, you sleep in a bed, with me, but why, dare I ask, was 'it' in the fridge?"
He didn't answer, only reached past her and placed what ever it was back in it's proper spot.
"You know Marcus, if I had known that you would be putting odd, alien creature like things in my refrigerator, I would have made you bring you own over here."
He gave her a grin and kissed her cheek as she reached into the cooling unit, almost afraid and took out a bottle of water, she looked at the door and rolled her eyes sighing as she saw various 'thing's littered within there. Walking over to her cupboard she opened and pinched the bridge of her nose sighing as scrolls blocked her path to what she wanted in the back.
"You put these here on purpose didn't you?"
"Patch said chocolate is bad for you right now."
"Exactly and this is my chocolate cabinet. So wait...you DID do this on purpose?"
No answer from him.
"Your not even going to deny it?"
Slience still.
"Your such an ass."
She continued to search the kitchen finally throwing up her hands in defeat as she threw the bottle of water at Marcus only to watch as he caught it expertly and placed it on the table calmly, still reading.
"Is there ANY thing that isn't 'good for me' that you haven't rigged or hidden, or contaminated with your freaky mystic crap?"
He pointed above the fridge and she was shocked to open the cabinet to find a bag of chip only to pull them out and sigh as the words 'vegetable chips' shone on the bag, the threw them at the mystic wanting to hurl every infuriating scroll, or weird ingredient at him until she found what she wanted but found all she could do was shake her head and smile. Walking over she made room for herself on his lap interrupting his reading, he let out a small huff and wrapped his arms round her waist.
"I hadn't saved my place."
"You hid my chocolate."
"This is slightly important Alex. I'm trying to find a way to release the runes on Demetri."
"And I'm pregnant and want chocolate, something my lover seems intent on keeping from me."
Marcus felt his heart skip a beat, she had gotten so comfortable around him within the week after their confrontation, it was almost as if they had been together for years. She never got aggravated with him anymore, their small quarrels nothing more than fun for them. He kissed her cheek and dug into his shorts pocket pulling out a Hershey kiss that she locked eyes on, a smile spread on his features.
"You really have a craving for this don't you?"
"Marcus, don't be mean..."
She pouted as she looked back and locked eyes with him, he chuckled and leaned back unwrapping the small morsel himself, he gave it to her and watched as she popped it into her mouth chewing slowly, happily, the small, blissful smile making his heart sore. She turned and gave him a kiss, one that lingered on his lips and foretold of a much better thank you in store for later that day, he shivered at the thought as she stood and made her way to the bathroom, he jumped as she yelled at him.
"Did you HAVE to etch them INTO the glass?! You couldn't have used permanent marker?"
"I had to make sure they wouldn't fade Ali, mirrors are dangerous, they are portals to the shadow realm, I've gone over this with you."
She came out brushing her hair and frowning.
"Yeah I know, but again, you couldn't have drawn them with marker? You had to etch the runes into the glass? You ruined the mirror."
It was than she looked around the room and gaped as she saw that every mirror she had, large or small had the same damage, putting her fingers on her forehead she sighed and walked away throwing her hands into the air.
"I give up! Your lucky I love you otherwise I couldn't deal with this. Why did you have to pick today to do it of all days anyway? And you could have warned me."
"It's the first of the month, a fresh start. It's the safest time to plant them. Oh and by the way-"
"What the hell?! Where are my black sheets?! MARCUS! I DRAW THE LINE!"
"Cotton is more pure than satin, and white represents light while black....Ali?"
He turned in time to see her launch herself at him, throwing him from his chair and to the carpet as she wrestled with him trying to pin him and only managing to get pin herself.
"Alex, what seems to be the problem?"
His smug grin only made her growl.
"You know the problem. Those were BLACK SATIN sheets! I paid over 200 bucks for that bed set!"
"No wonder you had nightmares. As comfortable as they were, which do not get me wrong I enjoyed them as much as you did, for your protection I had to switch them."
She rolled her eyes and have him a shove, he let her up with a smile as she bumped her shoulder with his.
"You really that scared I'm gonna get hurt?"
He cupped her cheek making her look at him.
"I'd die if something were to happen to you Alex. I can't even stand the thought of it. As long as I have you in my life I can live happily."
She smiled and leaned into his hand jumping as the alarms in the base suddenly began to blare through out the building.
ATTENTION ALL HDF MEMBERS, PRISONER NUMBER 342 HAS ESCAPED, CAPTURE AT ALL COSTS. REPEAT-
Ali gasped and looked at Marcus.
"That's Demetri's number."
She stood only to feel Marcus grab her wrist.
"No, you stay here. I won't risk what happened last time happening again. You stay here, you stay safe. You understand me?"
She nodded slowly, never seeing him this protective before and feeling her self melt on the inside as he pulled her in for a tight embrace and passionate kiss.
"Lock this door and don't you dare open it for anyone. I have my key."
She nodded and did as he asked as he stepped out, leaning into to kiss her one last time before dashing down the halls. Ali was left feeling alone as the red light flashed through their room, she suddenly jumped as a small knock came from the other side of the door.
"Mommy!"
Ali instantly opened the door for the little girl gathering her into a big hug as she rushed into the woman's arms.
"Lily, honey. Where's Dante?"
Lily sniffed in her arms as she clung to her.
"We got separated with all the people running around. Mommy what's happening?"
"I don't know baby. It'll be alright though okay?"
"Is Daddy going to hurt people again?"
Ali balked as she put the girl down and knelt to look at her, no one had ever told her Demetri's prisoner number, no one had ever told her it was Demetri who had entered the base and destroyed it either.
"Lily, how do you know about that?"
The girl's voice shifted, the menacing and evil tone making her freeze as the rune activated on her wrist, Lily melting away into Sybille.
"You took-"
"CopyCates power? Indeed. It's time to go, while my pet makes the distraction we shall make our escape."
Ali looked up as the door slid open and Marcus stood there breathing heavily.
"Marcus!"
His eyes widened as he took in the scene as Sybille reached forward and grabbed her before she could move forward, a dagger pressing against the skin of her pale throat.
"Ah ah ah Marcus. Wouldn't want her to end up like the other one would you?"
The runes on his body came to life in his rage but he dare not attack Sybille while he had Ali, Sybille laughed as he smashed the hilt of the dagger into the back of Ali's skull knocking her unconscious and before the mystic could move fast enough the black mist the enveloped Sybille and Ali had vanished taking them along with it, her rune's activation negated by Sybille. He had made finally made his move. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

Emptiness was Demitri's world while he stayed a prisoner at his home base, not an ally anymore, but a prisoner with blood on his hands. Blood from fellow allies, younger soldiers and the shame of disgracing his father the Commandant. Inside of Shields protected cell, Demitri roared with burning rage, his communication cut off with his master threw the man into fits and tantrums, thrashing about as he tried desperately to free himself and return to his cruel owner. The living black armor suit that aided Demitri in the killing of Blues was located in a secret location, the powers of the high counsel kept its powers from activating and running back to Demitri or Sybille. It simply laid on the cold floor of the cell room, folded up like clothing, the guards on duty were high ranking officials who have previously fought against enemies who wore such an item, but they were all based in Egypt when they encountered the item It too, felt emptiness. Demitri's writs and calfs bruised from his many struggles of becoming free from his captors, the hours passed along with days without the giant noticing, after his tirade of yelling and thrashing about, he would simply fall unconscious at a moments notice, giving his body little time to heal up. He did enjoy the security of knowing paid would not wake him, his master was never that kind, always finding a new way to torture the soldier day in and day out. There was something that brought life back to the caged animal, a scent, a simple scent that brought a wave of peace inside of the angry beast, and then the woman who always came to him three times a day. Fed him, bathed him, gave him fresh clothes, even just to stay and talk with him when he was feral. Time passed where the slave enjoyed her company, and slowly, more memories of her held in his mind, a deep affection for the woman who had shown him kindness.

The afternoon was long, Demitri calmed his thrashing as the woman named Alex left once again, the beast inside grew angry as he continued to use his powers to his aid, but nothing seemed to work in the cell he was entrapped in. There was however, an echo....and familiar voice that echoed around Demitri's head. It was distant at first, but as the hour passed, it grew in magnitude and tone. The giant shook in his spot a little, scared and angry at the intruder inside of his thoughts, he had hoped it would never happen again, but he was too hopeful to know better.

(There's my slave) A whicked laughed followed, Demitri tensed his body as he stood straight up in his spot, a devilish smile danced across his face as tears slowly fell from his eyes, his master had found him. The slave was relieved, yet terrified at the same time. (Did you find the item that I seek my pet?)

(Yes Master, I have found the Book of Set, the spell book you sought after my master. Have I done good, master?) Demitri concentrated hard in his words, it was difficult to speak even in his mind, the protection measure they took on the cell he was trapped in was more than he would ever had anticipated.

(You have slave, and I shall reward you with your freedom. The distraction you caused allowed me to enter and enfultrate the facility without a second glace, I have taken the form of a person here. I will be obtaining the second piece I need very soon. The book is now in my possession...) Demitri smiled more at his masters words. (...I shall free you now my pet, cause a little commotion for me while obtain my prize, I shall bring you once I have it). Like that, the voice dropped, making the giant whine in sadness. But his mood changed when the cuffs that held his arms and legs broke off in a snap, the feeling around the cell was different as Demitri felt a surge of power course through his veins, the runes it up all over his body as the beast smiled and aimed his hand for the door. The guard looked back for a moment, but a moment too late as the door flew open, crushing the solider on the wall he stood opposite from when guarding the cell. Demitri slowly stepped out as he cracked his knuckles, making his way out of the brig in a haste the man had no intention on being silent. Using his many powers to destroy everything in his path and cripple soldiers that stood in his way. Then, the alarms sounded...

"ATTENTION ALL HDF MEMBERS. PRISONER 342 HAS ESCAPED. CAPTURE AT ALL COSTS!!!"

"Master..." Demitri grunted in triumph, completing another task in such a haste usually rewarded the giant an extra hour to rest. Demitri made it down the hall, only to trip while running and fall face first on the steel floor, looking behind himself, the man could see his feet here now encased in a block of ice. Frost and Jason, now in full wolf form, approached slowly towards the broken commander.

"Stay right where you are Demitri" Frost held his arm out still, ready for some more action. Jason growled when Demitri easily phased his legs through the ice black and stood up in a hunched stance, much like Jason when he hunched. Both animals stared one another down, Jeff and Tank came from the corner, Tank now fully in steel mode as he gasped when seeing his father figure.

"If we can't stop him, at least keep him busy" Jason howled as he charged the beast, Demitri returning the favor as both men clashed mid air before rolling on the ground, punching, clawing and going all out while the alarms still sounded. Jason was thrown off to the wall when Demitri landed a harsh kick to his abdomine, before the beast could get up, Jeff levitated his former commander in mid air. Tank took the hint as he rushed towards Demitri, connecting his steel shoulder to the mans ribs, bones cracked upon impact, sending the man rolling down the hallway.

(I'm sorry Dad...) Tank thought as he frowned underneath his steel skin, but he needed to do his part to protect his friends. Demitri struggled to get up as he looked at the four men, smiling as blood ran down the side of his mouth.

"This one shall not fail his MASTER!!!" Charging his wind powers, the beast charged at the four, they in turn, doing the same to hold off as long as they could.

Marcus stood in their room, his feet firmly planted where Sybille and Ali had been but moments ago, his hands clenched into fists as his runes raged with a white hot fury he only showed a few times. His anger, hatred, and sadness washed of him as he let it all soak in, letting the feelings take over his body as he couldn't think of what to do next. His feet carried him from the room, his mind no longer in control of his actions as he moved through the halls now, a glowing pillar of pure energy. The alarms no longer even reaching him as he walked through the halls with a purpose, that was achieved when he came across the scene of Alpha team surrounding a single figure who appeared to be holding his own against the mass. Marcus whispered the words of a long extinct time, his magic coursing through his body as suddenly the crowd dispersed, all of them being pushed in all sorts of directions away from the feral Demetri. Marcus stood before whispering again as he lifted Demetri into the air with a single hand raised, he struggled, managing to lash out with his wind powers, the power glancing off of Marcus.

"Where is she? Where is Sybille?" Demetri saw a grin filled with insanity, a madness that seemed far to advance for anyone to break. He couldn't understand how Ali broke through his mind, how she had managed to get him to speak beyond the growls he howled now.

"This one will never betray his Master. He is out of your grasp fool!" Marcus looked into the rune visage of Demetri's face, seeing how easily that could have became him. He thought about crushing him then, ending it all for Demetri with just a single word and a simple gesture. That was, until Demetri suddenly dropped to the ground, he had managed to break free from Marcus grasp and stood staring at him, the mad grin all over his face. He stood hunched over, Marcus pushing aside any notions of mercy now, in this fight, he would win and he would finish this. Before he could even strike, a black mist swirling from nowhere, enshrouding Demetri before he just vanished all together. Marcus felt his heart sink, the grief snuffing out all of his anger as he fell to his knees, the Alpha team finally released from his grasp as they all rushed toward where Demetri use and where Marcus knelled. Jason stood before them as himself, the other crowded around trying to figure out what was going on. Marcus felt hands on him, his eyes closed to the world as his hands hung limp in his lap and hung his head as he ignored everything around him.

His mind flitted back to the week he had shared with Ali in real, and complete happiness. He had was recalling when he had been talking to her about him moving into her quarters. It was only the night after their conversation, they had been laying in bed together as they held hands. His thoughts were so open now, floating on a whim as something he hadn't done since he took up the mantle of the Mystic. Letting his life be consumed by the dark thoughts of so many nights gone, it had taken years off of his face to just lay here with her. To feel her warm touch on his skin as they just laid in silence, the lights of except for a lonely one on Ali's night stand.

"So what do you think?" He remained silent for the time, content with just caressing the skin on her arm as he thought of what to say. He wanted to just say yes to her idea, to rush over to his room and start bringing in things to make this their room. He was sure the secret was out about them at this point, no one had said anything or even made comments about it. Maybe it was the rumor that he knew everything that happened in the compound that kept them to a minimal, maybe it was the looks Ali gave people when they even had the thought of snickering or whispering about her. No matter what it was, it made life easier with small things like that. He looked into her eyes, trying not to get lost in them and actually answer her question.

"I don't know how much you would like that, I have so many artifacts, scrolls, books and other paraphernalia that would just clutter-"

"Just shut up Marcus."

"Ok." He said simply as she smiled at him and shook her head, giving him a kiss before giving him a whack on his chest.

"Go get your stuff, your moving in." Marcus nodded as he started to rise when she grabbed him and pulled him back down to her, gracing his lips with another kiss.

"Not just yet marked man, we have something to finish up." Making love that night, Marcus had been hard pressed to bring enough stuff back. Ali had tried to rise to help him be he had turned her down, talking about the baby and how a lot of things were going to change for her daily regiment. She had sighed at him, he was surprised when she had just put her arms around him and said ok as she kissed him more. She didn't fight him on it, she wasn't afraid to give him a good hit every now and then and she definitely showed her frustration with everything he did, but he did it for her. Every night, when they would lay there for that time they stayed together the words she whispered to him made it all the more important he protect them. Every night she whispered to him the same words that always lead to the passion they shared in their bed.

"I love you Marcus." The words echoed in his mind regularly, feeling the truth behind the words, Masan no longer influencing her thoughts or decisions. He felt a twang of guilt for putting Masan to sleep, just because of their history, but that always changed while he was with Ali. Even when she would leave him three times a day, he still just waited for her to return, he could only imagine how she was handling the situation with her former lover, and the father of her baby, only to return the the mystic to be embraced by him. He always did his best to ease her distress, and it seemed to work every time she came back. His thoughts and his grief still hung out there for Demetri, but he still held a selfish desire for Ali, even if Demetri were to get better, he didn't want to give up everything they had now. He was sure that will all the things he had moved into their quarters now made it more, official in his mind, he hoped she had felt the same when she asked him. The thought of marriage had crossed his mind a few times, appearing because of her growing condition, he was starting to see a bulge appear on her stomach, the baby growing bigger everyday and he found his hands constantly touching it when they laid together at night.

He snapped out of his thoughts when his face suddenly stung, he saw Jason standing before him as he was yelling at Marcus. Marcus looked around almost in a haze, seeing the faces crowding around. He even saw Tempest face, his youthful eyes showing his concern and how his progression had come along. It seemed, that whatever god had tried to use him and withdrawn its hold shortly after their vacation. Since then, he had been in training to control himself, the other helped him along when they could. He slowly rose as he started to push hands away, bodies next as he finally stood and tried to get his barrings. When he did he set off, his new destination in mind as the black mists started to gnaw at his thoughts. The team followed in his wake, he looked back only momentarily, seeing Pocket brought another memory to mind. Only happening a few days ago, he had been sitting at the table as usual, a dinner was cooking for Ali, he had done his best to prepare a meal should would enjoy the most. He had to keep her away from green beans, one of his favorite foods, and other items that incited retching from Ali. He had hoped to finish it before she got back from he time with Demetri, she said she had a few other things to do after so he took the advantage. Hearing the timer, he quickly rose from his seat and went to finishing the meal, slicing and dicing fresh vegetable and plating them, putting a side of sliced meat for her.

He had finished setting up the table, a kitchen towel tossed over a bare shoulder as he was walking around only in his gym shorts again. A light glean of sweat on his brow, he was about to turn to get dressed when he heard the door slide open. His head turning to the noise to see Ali come in, she looked at the table, seeing the set up, a single white candle on the table with the plates set up. She looked up at him as she smiled at him, he let out a sigh as he showed her an innocent grin.

"I thought I had more time. I would have been better dressed but-"He had no time to finish when she launched herself at him, her arms around him as the kidding became passionate and wild. They kept backing up until finally Marcus touched the bed, she pulled away to give him a push on to the bed, straddling him she gave him her sweet smile, the special one she gave only him. As his hands reached out to starting undressing her, they heard a knock at the door, Ali turning while Marcus stretched his neck to look. He nudged him to the side as she sat on the bed, he rose, walking to the door he hit a button on the card panel to open the door, his eyes widened as he say Pocket standing there.

"Calypso, its good to see you. Whats going on?" She had her usual smile on her face, looking into the room for Ali.

"I just wanted to talk to Ali, I haven't gotten a chance to talk to her." Marcus moved aside as Pocket entered the room, her multicolored hair still a constant reminder of her change. Ali jumped up from the bed and gave Pocket a great hug, Marcus had a small smile on his face as he watched the two talk. He saw Pocket touching Ali's stomach, he could hear the congratulations and Pocket jumping about excitedly about the whole thing. Marcus took a seat at their dinner table as they talked for a bit, he nibbled on the food until he saw a finger from Ali pointing at him.

"Not yet Marcus." He held up his hands as he chuckled softly, deciding to take the opportunity to get dressed the way he wanted to. The memory faded away as he reached the door to the Commandants office, he slid his key card as he walked into the office, seeing the Commandant standing around his desk going over papers. Marcus approached, his bodyguards trying to bar his path before Marcus pushed them aside.

"Where is he Shield?" The Commandant looked at him with red rimmed eyes, his expression blank and hard.

"We don't know. The book of Set is missing as well." Marcus let a growl escape his lips.

"Your son was the distraction, Sybille was here! He took Ali, he probably took your book too. We need to find them." Shield went back to looking over papers, before speaknig.

"We're doing everything can. We have limited resources right now, we can't pull everyone from the field in a reasonable amount of time. We need to be patient." Marcus paced for a second before he roared and flipped a table in his office, the sheer rage caused his runes to flare for a second, giving him the strength to send the table into the wall, smashing it apart and sending papers all over the room.

"That's not good enough Shield! We don't have time for any of this, we need to find her now." Shield kept his composure as he spoke.

"Let me know how to find them then, and we'll go after them right now." Marcus was struck silent then, he turned away from the Commandant, heading back to His and Ali's quarters, searching through his books and his scrolls to find anything to help him find them, anything to find her and bring her home.

Alright, my internet got shut off but thank mankind for a PS3 and a key board. Unfortuantly this is the 3rd time I've started this post...each time something happened and it got deleted before I could finish it...I've had better days needless to say. >.< So this is most likly going to be a short post, I'll just ask that you guys try not to jump ahead of me to far...I really don't want to be left behind in my on RP...that would suck. But hopefully I'll get the interwebs back soon and we can finish this up. Til that...and it pains me to say this with how excited I've been to finally reach the ending part of this... I am going to try and post in bit and pieces til I can finish it up fully since it's bugging on me. I'll let you know with a small note at the end saying it's finished.

Ali stirred from the black abyss, her head swimming and pain radiating through her skull and the back of her neck as she came to, her mind racing as the events rushed through her mind. She opened her eyes and looked around, she could feel her weight pulling on her wrists and looked up to see her hands tied above her head as she hung from the stone wall. She looked up as a cold voice echoed acorss the area gaining her attention.
"Welcome back to the land of the living my dear. So glad you could join us."
She frowned as her vision cleared and she saw Sybille sitting on a large stone throne, his arms crossed over his chest as he looked at her, a smug smile in place.
"Where the hell am I?"
"Can you not tell? Just look around you, it sould be simple."
She did look, her head turning this way and that to take in her surroundings, she recgonized where she was and frowned more.
"The Northen ruins?"
He chuckled and nodded as he stood slowly and made his way towards her.
"Correct. Now, can you tell me what this temple was used for?"
"Summonings, sacrafices, pagan rituals. What of it."
She felt as if a bucket of ice water fell ontop of her as he touched his fingers to her stomach.
"Just that my dear just that."
She squirmed away from his touch, trying to get as far from his as possible.
"Don't fret my dear, you'll be in good hands."
She lashed out with her legs trying to kick him and gasped as she found a large hand wrapped around her ankel, Sybille's smug expression growing larger as Demetri stepped in front of her and dealt her a harsh back handed slap to the face causeing her to yelp.
"You shall not speak that way way towards this one's master!"
She looked at the large man, shocked from his aggresion, the blood already filling her mouth from her bust lips, a bruise already forming on her cheek from his strike.
"Now now Slave. She's just a simple minded woman. You must treat her gently, she's in no condition to rough treatment."
"How do you know?"
He laughed and covered his face with his hands as his body shook.
"Know? I made it possible. You should be thanking me dear. If not for me, it never would have happened."
She shook her head only to yelp as Demetri grabbed her and lifted her into the air, her feet hit the ground and she lashed out trying to connect a kick to Sybille's ribs only to have her foot caught in Demetri's large hand. Sybille chuckled and shook his head.
"Useless. Bring her slave. It's time to start."
Demetri wrentched her arms behind her back causeing her to scream from the rough treatment, over the coarse of the week she had grown so accustomed to realxing, Marcus having taken it upon himself to cease her harsh training by going directly to the Commandant. She had been doing paper work behind a desk only to return to her room to have a dinner waiting for her followed by the gentle touches Macus gave her. She fell forward as the stopped, having climbed a set of stone steps to the top of the small platform she looked over at Demetri and saw him smiling.
"Now, for the final pawn. Come out my friend."
Ali turned as the black mist swirled around the area, Cloak stepping out and walking towards them, Ali felt her heart jump hopefully.
"Has it been set Roger?"
Cloak nodded as he knealt in front of Sybille.
"Yes, the trail has been set, they should arrive within moments."
"Good."
Ali gasped as Cloak rose and stood next to the man, Sybille's smile grew.
"I have a plan my pet, you see I've been doing research and I've come to realize that my pact entails to much more power than simply cleansing the earth of filthy humans. I had the ability to become a god. Useing the right sacrafice and pawns it's quite simple really."
She felt her blood run cold as his eyes flickered to her stomach and back.
"No...No!"
"Oh yes, your unborn child has enough power already to level cities, imagine the possibilites if I could use that power."
Demetri shuddered next to her suddenly.
"C-child?"
Sybille frowned and wrapped his hand around Demetri's throat, his hand glowing and sending the giant to his knees as a scream tore from Demetri's throat.
"Stop this!"
She covered his body with her own trying to ease his convulsions, the move only making Sybille laugh.
"How amusing. Even though you'be taken a new lover you still hold onto this man as a life line still try to comfort him and ease his pain."
"I still love him! I never stopped loving him!"
Demetri's harsh breathing could be heard under her his next words making her smile.
"...Oranges...Alex...Mine."
She put her cheek against his back as it rose and fell with his breathing but screamed as Sybille's foot connected with her cheek sending her spawling.
"You stay away from him! I don't know what kind of magic you use but nothing should be stronger than my hold on him!"
She looked up and spit blood on the dirt, her busted lip bleeding again, her head spun around to look over her shoulder as another sound filled the small area, Sybille chuckled as he grabbed her and hauled her to her feet in front of him, Demetri and Cloak standing behind him, the blue fog of the young transporter Mist fading slowly to reveal her team, standing at the ready. Tank held Lily on his shoulders, already incased in is steel skin, Frost was charged and ready to go as fog poured from his skin which was a light blue and had a thin sheet of ice covering it. Jeff, Pocket and Sasa were all back to back looking around, Sasa had her machete at the ready while Pocket had a pistol in her hands, Jeff's stoic face only looking for the danger. She was shocked to see Tempest among them, fire flowing from his hands as he stood with her team. But what broke her heart was the man standing in front of them all.
"Marcus!"
She watched as the runes on his body began to glow madly as he looked at her, seeing the bruise on the pale skin of her cheek, the blood that rolled from her busted lip and the hands of his enemy holding her in place.
"Alex, let you go Sybille!"
The man behind her chuckled lightly as he threw Ali over to Demetri as well as the dagger, the soldier catching it and her easily.
"What fun would that be old friend? You would only attempt to kill should I release her only to kill my loyal slave in the process. Tell me, do you think she would forgive you for that sin?"
"Shut up! I'm sick of your mind games Sybille! What are you planning?"
"It's a full moon tonight Marcus. Don't you remember? All those years ago, the lesson you gave me on the gods? What it would take?"
Marcus' eyes grew wide.
"Your insane! There's no telling what you'll unleash!"
Sybille laughed as he looked down at them.
"Only if I am the one to sully my hands. But I won't be. My slave shall do the dirty work for me."
"You would have him kill- You really have become a monster."
"You would know mystic. I followed in your footsteps. After all I did look up to you all those years ago. Now, watch as your world falls apart yet again."
He motioned to Demetri who threw Ali forward, raiseing the dagger above his head he brought it down towards her, she closed her eyes waiting for the pain but it never came. She opened her eyes to see Tempest standing above her a sad smile on his face.
"Forgive me Alex. For everything I've done to you."
He coughed and she blinked as blood landed on her cheek as it came from his mouth, looking down she could see the dagger protuding through his stomach. She screamed as he fell to the side, lifeless, his blood pooling around him.
"Tempest!"
Sybille turned and scoffed.
"Slave, do not fail me again!"
Demetri nodded, raiseing the dagger once again only to pause as Lily wrapped her arms around Ali's leg scowling up at the man.
"Stop it!"
Ali wiggled trying to get the girl off of her, nothing working with her arms behind her back, she looked over as Marcus knelt next to her, his warm hands moving aginst her skin as he untied her, Lily's distraction giving him enough time to get her loose. He cupped her cheek as he looked her over, her bruised cheek, her busted lip, the raw marks from the ropes that were tied around her wrists. His gaze fell as she pulled away from the little girl and the mystic and slowly approached Demetri.
"Please...stop this..."
He raised the dagger again, Marcus' voice ringing in his ears.
"Dammit Demetri stop! She's pregnant! Are you really going to allow Sybille to make you kill a child? Let alone yours!"
Demetri dropped the dagger as he fell to his knees, Ali rushing over and wrapping her arms around him, holding him close as she rocked back and forth. Her powers relaying her feeling to him as she buried her face in his hair whispering quietly.

O.O;; that took...forever! But it's all done. Hope you all enjoy it. I'm going to pass out now. That was more stressful than any post I have ever written...ugh. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

The small town of Ammond Terrance began to settle in for the night, the markets and shops all around unpacked their items to rest for the evening, the street lights illuminated the quiet streets as the townspeople made their way to their respective houses with family awaiting them. It began to rain, lightly for a while until the wind picked up, blowing violently in the night sky, swaying trees and street lights with no mercy for their struggles to stay grounded. A little boy ran as fast as he could,, soaked clothes hugged his body and flesh, his hair, tied in a pony tail, equally drench"ed by the elements as the onslaught of water poured down. But more than water fell that evening, boy boy produced his own water that streamed from his eyes as he raced with all his might to get home, worried about his safety. But, something else seemed to be on his mind as he thought more and more about the recent storms that passed in their town lately. He knew, it wasn't natural. Without noticing, the boys sneakers missed a hole in the ground, causing the boy the fall forward and roll as his ankle slowly swelled up, hissing at the pain, he slowly stood up again and hobbled to his house. He only hated it when they lived in the woods, a log cabin house like no other in the area, surrounded by the woods and forest life. Finally reaching the door, the boy opened and dove in, kicking the door shut. A woman with long, raven colored hair came to his side as the boy cried, his eyes now completely white. Hugging the woman he sobbed more as a muscular figure came from the stairs to check the commotion.

"Whats the matter Demitri? Are you ok?" His mother asked with her husband kneeling to pick up the boy in his harms and take him to the couch.

"Go fetch him some clean clothes honey, he's soaked." The father ordered, she nodded and went off, the man placed his son on the couch, seeing his skin turn blue as he shook all over, but he noticed the eyes more than anything. Trying to play it off, the man started the fire in the living room fireplace.

"No need to cry over wet clothes son" His father gave a small laugh, but looking behind his shoulder, he could see one of Demitri's little feet turn slightly off than the other, the boy remained silent and cried more as his mother returned.

"T. Have a look at his leg will you" The man gave her a worried look as he brushed his head towards Demitri's direction, coding for her expertise. She took the hint and nodded, kneeling down and examining her son, seeing where his twisted ankle began to swell up, the boy trying to escape the pain when she touched it, but his mother was stronger than that to just let go. Within seconds, the pain vanished, still sore, but gone completely as the boy finally opened his eyes and saw his leg wiggling around with his other half. Demitri wiped his eyes and smiled slightly, his eyes still white as the storm lessened little by little outside.

"Pavlos...I think we know now why the wind blows so harshly" Touch began to undress her child from his wet clothes and place the warm, clean ones on, taking the drenched pieces to the launrdy. She came back from the kitchen with a cup of cocoa for her son, who smiled and began to drink.

"Dad, whats momma talking about?" Demitri stared while his father stared off into the distance, in deep thought. He came to his own conclusion before standing up and taking a seat next to his son, with his mother on the other side as they sat together, watching the fire.

"Son...you know the different stories of things going bump at night?..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Demitri walked down the halls in full Marine Corps uniform, having finished the yearly Marine Corps Ball, he smiled as he passed his fellow enlisted and officers, taking off his cap, the man smiled as he looked at the night sky. So crisp and clear, seems so surreal to be back in the states after being overseas for so long. His personal space though was taken away when his father showed from the shadows with a man covered in a dark blue cape around his body, his hood covered his eyes and most of his facial features, a person Demitri has never seen before. But, unlike Demitri, the cloaked figure has been watching and protecting the boy from harms way. Just in the shadows of the night along with his fellow operatives.
"I'm so proud to have you safe and back" Pavlos went over to hug his child, who returned the affection by his father.
"Thanks Dad, where's momma?" Demitri questioned.
"She's where we're going now. It's time my boy" Pavlos smiled and laughed patting his son roughly on the shoulder. Demitri was puzzled until the cloaked man stepped towards the two, then, it suddenly turned pitch black. Within seconds, they were in the middle of a thriving base, soldiers of different ages and sexes roamed the facility, but their military emblem was something Demitri has never seen before.
"Dad, where are we?"
"Welcome to the Human Defense Force my boy! Happy 24th Birthday!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Demitri filed some paperwork in his quarters, his usual busy task at the end of a long work day, some of his body already earned scars from battles with the undead and monsters of the night alike, his recent scar on his chest, large and diagonal to his body. It burned and throbbed in pain, but the man was just happy to be alive and able to complete his mission with the rest of the squad. Demitri peered at his watch and cursed to himself.

"****, I'm late. What a way to join a new team" The man rushed from his seat to his door, making it to the hallway the man dashed as fast as he could, securing his key card and tucking in his undershirt as he passed fellow operatives in the hall. Finally making it to his destination, the doors slid to the side as everyone peered at the large man, there was a girl facing all of them as they stood at attention in front of her, two other people who looked younger than Demitri. The girl with long lair turned to the man, looking up at the massive giant, but not feeling scared or intimidated like everyone else usually has.

"YOURE LATE!" She roared, placing her hands on her hips as her gaze grew more vicious, Demitri on chuckled a little bit as he stood at attention as well.

"Apologies, paperwork kept me" Demitri continued his gaze on this young girl, what balls she had to yell at the newly appointed Commandant's son like this. But, that was to be kept a family secret as they all agreed upon since Demitri's grandfather was now the High Counsel leader, another promotion in the same year for his family.

"I don't accept apologies, you may be a decorated soldier, but I wont have slacking in my unit. Understood?" The girl sure was a fire cracker, Demitri closed his eyes to roll them without her noticing. "And don't roll your eyes at me" The comment brought the man to snap open his eyes in surprise, but he smiled as played it off. "My name is Ali Talon, your new Team Leader, so get use to it muscles..."

"Demmy" Demitri interrupted, making the girl turn to her side as she talked away, dismissing the group. "Bark bark to you too" The smallest girl in the room giggled a little before turning her head towards the man.

"I'm Calypso, but people call me Pocket. This is Jeff, he's not much of a talker but..." Jeff, who stood next to the girl, grunted before leaving the room as well, making the small girl frown a little. Demitri smiled as he replied back.

"Name is Demitri, you can call me Demmy if you'd like...."

"My name is Gene, where you you hiding at?"

"I love you Demitri...."

"I love you Alex....I want you to be part of my family, family, family....family...."

The words echoed over and over inside the man's head. Wave upon wave of memories for the past year forced itself out of the secured regions of Demitri's bent mind, the control finally released as the man shook in Alex's arms a little as she rocked his body with hers, Demitri could feel all of his rune powers fading him, the sketches and markings vanishing off his body like water evaporating into the air. The man scars on his body re-opening as he bleed while the woman he loved held onto him, wondering what caused his gashes and cuts to show as if he just got them all now.

"Demitri..." Ali cried as Jeff and Jason went to the two while the others held off Sybille, who had the Book of Set in his hands. He was not too pleased on his powers left his body, he couldn't even understand how it happened. Marcus was a bit shocked as well, but that would be a research project for another time. Demitri's body winced in pain as he groaned through his teeth, slowly opening his eyes, he sniffed and spoke softly in pain.

"Alex...I sure could use an orange right about now..." He smiled weakly as Jason scooped the damaged man onto his back, fully transformed into his wolf form, he had plenty of space and strength. Jason have a sad look to Ali as Jeff helped her stand, he realized now it wasn't Demitri acting brashly, he was being controlled. Ali only gave a slight nod to her brother when she met his gaze, finally on her feet again, they all turned their attention towards Sybille and Cloak. Fire raged in each members eyes as they faced their opponent and trapped friend.

"New assignment, apprehend Cloak..." Ali shouted, taking out one of her throwing knives she kept on her all the time, she was exhausted and fragile, but her rage gave her fighting spirit all the boosts it needed. Pocket projected her sniper rifle while Sasa aimed her gun towards Sybille. Jeff cracked his knuckles as Tank ordered Lily to move to safety, which she did without question. Marcus' runes lit to their full intensity as Gene enclosed his body in a sleek layer of ice, every part except for his head, blood on his shirt from checking on his deceased friend tempest. Jason growled and stood ready, surprisingly, Demitri held one eye open as his hanging arm on Jason's side gathered wind, the giant was losing blood fast, but this was more important. His family, his friends, his loved one...and his unborn child.

"What about Sybille?" Sasa asked, but they all knew the answer, it was game over for the monster as he laughed at their stances.

"Hold on tight boys and girls, this is gonna hurt" Demitri whispered, Jason being the only one who heard, smiled at the comment.

(That's the old man I know) The wolf howled in excitement.

Whoop, I'm barrowing my mother in laws laptop so I can get some stuff for the ARMY done, but I'll be keeping track of this as well. ^^ Hopefully I'll internet back soon. Hopefully

Ali looked back at Demetri, his blood covered his skin and Jason's fur, she was surprised her brother had even come along. She looked back up at Sybille and Cloak, her eyes narrowing in on Cloak.
"So, you were a part of this from the very start?"
He didn't answer her but looked back at Sybille who nodded at the man, he vanished in a wave of black mist and Ali felt every hair on her skin stand on end, goosebumps raiseing on her skin.
"Aelx!"
She turned towards Marcus' voice but was thrown back towards Sybille as Cloak appeared beside her and threw her, she grunted as Sybille caught her, his face contorted into a nasty frown as he looked down at her.
"I have no idea what you've done, but you managed to save him, at the cost of your own life. I will have my power, one way of another."
She felt a scream erupt from her throat as Sybille sent a powerful blast of wind into her back, her name echoing as the members of her team called out for her. Falling to the ground her vision swam as she looked towards the others, Sybille's voice echoing above her.
"Roger, get rid of them while I do what needs to be done, you'll get your reward in due time."
The man nodded and faced the team, Marcus roared in anger as his runes flared brightly, the mystic could feel rage flood his system as Sybille apprached his lover on the ground, he could see blood seeping through her shirt from the blast he had sent into her back and she was getting pale. Behind his rage he worried, worried for her and for the child she carried.
"Sybille! You touch her and I swear to every god I know you'll regret it!"
Sybille only laughed as he grabbed Ali and hauled her to his feet, a clean dagger gleaming in his hand as he held it to her throat, his laugh dieing down to a chuckle.
"My, how visious you've gotten Marcus, all for a woman, I think you would grieve more if this one were to die than the last. How many night have you spent with her?"
Demetri looked between Ali and Marcus confused at first, but as Sybille's words sank it, he realized what the man was talking about, he looked at Marcus' glowing back, his voice was weak as he looked between the woman he loved and the marked man. His face falling into a painful expression. Ali struggled as much as she could, getting another dagger into her hand she threw it back and drove it into Sybille's leg causing him to curse and throw her down the stone steps, the hard surface striking her skin, and she screamed as she felt her shoulder come out of place and her leg bend at an unnatrual angle. Landing on the ground she listened to her own harsh breathing, her ears ringing in her head, her vision swam more as she lay there, pain radiating through her body as Marcus rushed forward and wrapped his arms around her gently, his forehead brushing against her's.
"Ali, are you alright?"
She nodded weakly gasping as pain exploded behind her eyes making her cling to him, she gritted her teeth trying to hold the scream back until it bellowed forth causing Marcus to jump slightly and look at her worriedly, his gaze shifted to Sybille as she wirthed in his arms.
"What are you doing to her?!"
Sybille's laugh echoed through the clearing as he strode down the stairs slowly, his large grin on his face.
"Be it her, or the child she carries, I will have a sacrafice."
Marcus let loose a growl from deep within his throat but looked over his shoulder as a wind blast came from Demetri, the man striding forward, healed and on a war path, Madam Touch and Commandant Sheild standing a little way behind them with Lily and another young girl that Marcus recognized as the new trasport operative, her name slipped his mind, she looked terrified as she cowered behind the two adults, her frame shaking. Ali looked up as Demetri looked down at her and Marcus.
"I think it's obvious that the three of us need to have a conversation, but that's for later. Right now, protect her I have some payback to deal to this bastard."
Marcus nodded as Ali buried her face in his chest as she clung to his robe, he could feel her tears strike his skin, whether they were because of the pain she was in, or because of the situation they had found themselves in he couldn't tell. Standing he handed the woman to Jason who growled as he sniffed her, his large wet nose touching her cheek as he whined, without care Marcus bent forward and gave her a short kiss, which she returned weakly.
"We'll be back."
With that she watched as he threw the robe from her body, his runes glaring against the dark as he walked forward with Demetri, both ready to end the monster and go back home.

Marcus had seen things go differently in his mind, he had hoped he could remain calm and collected when they had finally found them. He had hoped he could keep it together long enough to put an end to Sybille and this mad dash for power, he knew the ritual Sybille was attempting. He had almost tried it himself once, but once he had discovered the secret to making it work, he had destroyed anything he could find for the ritual. The only thing he couldn't have destroyed was the Book of Set, the tomb itself had been marked and enchanted against age and against deliberate damage, giving it toe HDF was all he could do with it. The only other source of detailed knowledge for the ritual was Marcus himself, and Sybille had wanted to know it from him. At first, Marcus had flat out rejected him, telling him to leave the subject alone and to not bring up the ritual. Time had passed then, Sybille had waited months before broaching the subject, Marcus rejecting him again this time a little more hesitantly.

Sybille took it a step further then, asking Marcus if he could teach him runes, how to draw them and how to make them work. Marcus didn't mind this so much, originally he only taught him simple runes. Ones that effect things to a very minor degree, things that wouldn't mean much to other people. After months more, Marcus got more complicated with the runes, showing him ones that not only affected objects and the elements, but ones that could affect people as well. Sybille seemed intent on those lessons, Marcus had hardly noticed as he taught him the runes. He kept going with the lessons, knowing Sybille wouldn't be able to use most of the symbols without access to his magically infused blood or another magic user to control them. Masan had come into his life at that time, his time with Sybille had lessened significantly, so he fit as much as he could into those short lessons. The runes became more complicated, the specific order they needed to be in added a level of complexity that few understood. Sybille learned them all quickly, much to Marcus' surprise, he thought of Sybille as his apprentice at this time, friends in the fact he could share knowledge with him that he couldn't even properly describe to Masan without having to explain everything from the beginning. Marcus taught him everything he felt comfortable teaching him, most things he kept to himself due to it being family secrets, runes and techniques his family had developed along with objects that helped their powers.

After Marcus had finished the lesson one night, Sybille had asked again, asking about the Ritual of Set. Marcus had hesitated when he asked about it, thinking no harm would come of it at this point. All of the knowledge he had was practically useless to him, the right energy was out of his grasp. He explained to him the ritual then, telling him all of the painstaking details it took to perform it correctly, explain how he first need the assistance of a god, giving the blood sacrifice to Set before moving on to the ritual itself. Every nuance that went into the actual ritual, save for one last part he had refused anyone to know, and that small detail would come back to haunt him. After Ghost Echo had been together for little over a year, Sybille struck, he had tried to skip the god, drawing out the runes needed for the ritual and he knew what he needed then without the gods intervention. Marcus recalled that night all to clearly, the distress call that they had all received, they had arrive to their destination, the place no longer matter to Marcus, it was only what had happened that day that he cared about anymore.

They had received a message telling them Sybille had disappeared, his last known location was the ancient ruins. He didn't remember where, he remembered Cloak taking them, the black mist enveloping them and dropping them off instantly, Coltaine and Yedan had been the first to move, they were the most battle ready of them all, Fiddler had pulled up the rear as he carried his signature crossbow he had built himself. Yan Tovis had her MP5 on her, she had moved ahead of Marcus and Masan at that time, They pulled up the rear of the group, Marcus' tattooed hands were exposed to the world, his chest showed under his robe but his face was unmarked, his arms and legs as well. He had only needed his feet, hands and chest covered to do what he needed. Masan was holding long knives in her hands, her face cold as they all moved quietly through the ruins. They had come across and intersection, Yan and Yedan went one way, Coltaine and Fiddler another. Masan and Marcus had taken the last way, treading carefully they suddenly started when they heard a scream, clearly feminine, meaning something was happening with Yan and Yedan. They turn and ran back the way they came to where they had taken their turn, coming across a pool of blood that trailed off in a direction, Marcus wondered where Coltaine and Fiddler had gone off to. Marcus and Masan followed the blood, they soon found Yedan's body, the sword he carried had been driven through his chest up to the hilt.

This had baffled them at the time, Yedan never gave up his sword to anyone. The fact someone had killed him with it was practically impossible in his mind. They kept moving, Yan was nowhere near by and they needed to find her. They no longer walked, running through the stone structure at full speed before they came across another body, Fiddler was high of the ground, pinned to the wall with bolts through his chest and limbs, Masan was horrified at seeing the bodies. Marcus had initially been disgusted with the brutality of it, but his mind started to see a pattern now. Yedan was the weapons master of their group, his name The Watch was not just his call name, but his title given to him at birth, it symbolized his role in the group, ever vigilant. Fiddler had been the musician and the sapper, his father had been a mason, their positions had been precise in this maze. Marcus anger was growing with every new piece of this twisted puzzle, they found Yan barely alive, three knives had been rammed into her chest, two through her lungs and the last in her stomach. She had tried to talk, blood had filled her throat as she laid on the ground dying, Masan had embraed her until she passed on, weeping for the youngest member of their team. When she lifted her body Marcus saw it, a rune engraved into the stone that was freshly made. He touched it, feeling a surge or life coming from it as Yan's blood touched it. He rose, he felt betrayal in his heart, rage coursing through his veins as he and Masan ran on. The finally came to a clearing, pillars stood tall in a circle where an X shaped structure was raised, Coltaine was strapped to it. His chest was carved up, his arms and legs sliced and chunks of flesh were missing from his limbs, all while he was still alive, that hard loon still in his eyes even when he was dying slowly.

"Marcus...Masan... run." He gruffly spoke to them, his head hanging as his body tried to go slack, his body getting heavy but secured tightly to his dead bed. His blood pooled all around the foundation his the X, Masan approached him, Marcus trying to understand why he would do this. Why he was killing everyone he had come to know as his family. His question was answered when he saw Sybille appear, a gleaming knife in his hand that Masan hadn't seen until he was already on her. Marcus watched in horror as the knife passed through her tender flesh, into her stomach, a sadistic smile on Sybille's face as he pulled away. Marcus rushing forward to her, lifting her back up on to his lap, his mind no longer caring about Sybille and his sick ambition. His thoughts only of her, seeing where the blade had entered broke his heart even more, he started to tremble as he realized his family was going to die here. He looked up at Sybille with hatred in his eyes.

"Why do this? Why us Sybille?! We were your family, we would have died for you!" He just smiled at him as he gripped the knife in his hand.

"Why do I need family, when I can be a god?"

"Why bring us here then? You could have done this ritual anywhere!" Sybille shook his head.

"No, it needed to be here. I needed to draw you all out, and now I need your blood to finish it!" Sybille lashed out with the blade, Marcus ready to welcome the death when they heard a noise from above. Sybille looked up and his eyes opened wide, a flock of crows had gathered over the ruins, a group so massive that it was impossible to count how many were there. Marcus stared at the crows as well, remembering something Cotlaine had said to him once while they were on reconnaissance. He had told him about an 'enchantment' a town seer had put on him for saving their village from an attack. They had been some backwater place that almost know knew of, the seer had said she would protect his soul by giving him the chance to be reborn again. He had scoffed at it then, but after that day, he noticed crows followed him everywhere from that day on. Today was the final day they would follow him, the flock of crows suddenly swooped down, their cries echoed in the ruins as the horde slammed right into Coltaine, the crows passing by him and in second the X that held Coltaine was empty, his body completely gone. Sybille stared in disbelief and twisted anger as he prepared to turn and end Marcus life. By then, it was too late for Sybille, Marcus already risen and stealing the blade away before lashing out with it, cutting Sybille across his chest. He vanished into the ruins, Marcus ready to pursue when he heard Masan coughing. He had dropped the knife, knelling at her side as he held her in his arms.

"Marcus.....please don't let this ruin who you are....... remember my love." Marcus cried that night, whispering to her of everything that she meant to him. Staying with her until she finally faded into the abyss, into a darkness Marcus couldn't follow until he finished what was started here tonight. He made a promise to himself then, a promise to end Sybille's life, and every ambition he ever had. That memory burned brightly for Marcus now, his whole body glowing with the intensity of all the rage and anger he could muster. The thoughts of anything else but killing Sybille were far from his mind, Ali being the only thing to break that idea, until her current condition kept his rage at peak. They came to the stairs Sybille had descended, seeing how it spiraled into the earth, leaving a large O in the middle. Marcus looked to Demetri momentarily, their eyes meeting. He could see the cold rage in his for Sybille, he could also see a hint of hurt in those eyes. He could only imagine what he was going through, being the mad mans puppet for months, all while his love had been falling into the arms of the marked man. If he only knew about what they had done while together, while he was gone form their worlds when they embraced. The thought pleasing to Marcus about how they held each other, but encroached upon his own sanity, Sybille's words echoing in his mind momentarily.

"You would know mystic. I followed in your footsteps. After all I did look up to you all those years ago. Now, watch as your world falls apart yet again."

Marcus turned back to the stairs and stepped off the edge, plummeting down the middle until the ground met him. He slammed into it with such force as to create and impression in the ground. Demetri followed, able to slow his decent as he landed beside Marcus. He looked to Demetri again, gesturing with his head the direction they need to go. They stood shoulder to shoulder as they walked onward. Hunting Sybille now with an prejudice in their hearts.

"Lets make this quick Marcus." He remained silent as he walked, his thoughts far from showing that kind of mercy to Sybille, he didn't show it to any of them. They came into a room where the light from the moon showed in, a massive opening the source of the light as they stood looking around for him. He was on top of them in moments, both of his feet in mid air as he crashed into Marcus chest. The runes saving him from sever damage, but not from the force of the push, sending him back until he smashed into a wall. Demetri lashing out with violent wind blasts that spun Sybille around but didn't cause any visible damage. He was on Demetri in moments, two kurki blades in his hands as he lashed out at the giant with inhuman speed. Demetri dodging as best he could, one blade catching him on his shoulder on his return trip, Demetri reacting with a wind shield to separate them momentarily. Marcus charge him then, whispering words of old as his hands lashing out, Sybille suddenly being hit by invisible forces that stunned him for only a few seconds, giving Demetri the time to throw a charge wind blast at him, the force devastating as it launched Sybille through the air, Marcus rushing to where he was going to land to deal more damage. Sybille's landing was more graceful then he expected, a fist sped toward Sybille who managed to dodge it. Sybille took advantage of the dodge, Marcus started to whisper words of power when he was struck in the face. The impact causing his head to whip back before a fist hit him in his stomach, doubling him over before another hit smashed into his back, sending him to the ground with another kick to his chest, sliding him across the ground.

Marcus coughed, tasting a metallic flavor on his tongue he spit out the blood filling his mouth as he was on his hands an knees. He heard Demetri grunting as he fought Sybille alone, doing his best to blast the man away but finding the results less the desirable. Marcus mind started to fill with panic, Sybille was too fast, he could stop Marcus words before spoken, Demetri's power had little effect since Sybille controlled it. He saw now, that neither of them were fast enough or strong enough for this. He tried to rise, finding he could only get on his knees before falling back on to his hands. His runes started to fade with his lack of concentration, until he heard a whisper in his mind, one he thought was impossible to hear.

Marcus, you can do it. He can't win this fight. Marcus shook himself as he tried to suppress the words, he failed as the words entered his mind again.

Just listen to me, listen to these final words and know what you can do Marcus. The words began to filter into his mind, his mouth whispering them as they came, vanishing once he spoke the words. He could feel something, something deep inside of him began to change, he suddenly heard thoughts and feelings he hadn't heard or felt before. He felt another person's mind in his own, the recognition of who it was startled him as he inhaled sharply. He looked up momentarily to see Sybille use a Kiurki knife to cut it across Demetri's chest. He roared in pain before both of the giants massive fists plunged towards Sybilles body, the force of a hurricane behind them as the smashed into Sybille and sent him bouncing across the ground, Demetri breathing heavily as he stumbled slightly trying to remain standing. Marcus heard her voice now, Masan speaking into his mind.

Marcus, I give up my last ounce of life for you, as I always would. Please find peace after this, my love. My Koibito.

"No Masan!" Marcus yelled out loud, his body suddenly tingled, the tingle quickly becoming a sensation as if lighting was now coursing through his body. His body twitched and ached now, he grunted as the pain became great and then he could feel his body become lighter. The blood in his mouth gone as it healed, looking at the runes on his body, he could see them waver, as if starting to move. He rose from his place on the ground, feeling alive, feeling as if his body and mind were free now. The words for a rune appeared in his mind as he readied to speak it, just holding out his hands the power struck Sybille making him lose his breath. Demetri taking the Que to strike Sybille as hard as possible, Sybille tumbled away, coughing as he stood shaken. Marcus felt his energy course through his body, the rage never coming close to this level. He understood now, Masan giving up her soul for him to grow. She died for him again, this time, her sacrifice would not be lost.

23 years ago, in a small town on the East Coast a baby girl was born, she weighed 8 pounds and 9 ounces with dark hair and chocolate brown eyes, but what made her so specail were here parents. She lay in her mother's arm, the woman she would grow to look exactly like, her father leaning over the woman's shoulder smiling. Exodus kissed his wife's cheek lightly as their son shuffled forward. The large man picked the boy up and showed him his little sister, his deep bass like voice rumbling in his chest and vibrating through the little boy making him smile.
"This is Alex, your younger sister. Jason I want you to protect her, no matter what. Can you do that for your mother and I?"
The little boy nodded and reached down smiling as the child in his mother's arms wrapped her plump little fist around his tiny finger and gave him a toothless grin that made him giggle...
------

Ali sat in a corner, her knees tucked to her chest as Jason had his arms wrapped around her trying to hush her sobs and comfort his sister. The news of their parents death hitting them hard, just a week before they had been in their home playing on the floor with their father. His large frame pinning them down to the carpeted floor gently as he wrestled with the young children. His booming laugh echoing as their mother shook her head as she cooked dinner. Exodus holding Jason up by an ankel as Ali clung to his leg. Cliar shook her head as she looked back at her husband and children.
"Go was your hands kids, time for dinner."
They smiled and rushed to the bathroom as the man walked over and embraced his wife with a gentle smile before blinking rapidly and looking down his nose becoming cross eyed as she pointed at him with a slight frown.
"I don't think so Exodus Talon. You need to wash your hands as well."
He gave her a puppy dog look which only made her scowl, sighing he slumped his shoulders and trudged to the bathroom, hearing the kids giggle as their father joined them for washing his hands and a small water fight between the three of them they sat down to eat.
They would never know that feeling of family again, they would never be abel to hear thier parents laughter or feel their embrace, the mission they had been sent on having taken their life. Jason frowned as Hank gave them false compassion.
"We don't want your bull! We can do just fine on our own!"
He had grabbed her hand and drug her down the hall back to their home.
---------------------

Rocking on the bed she held her hands over her ears, her eyes watering as she tried to block out the noise, she screamed quietly as it blared for a moment before becoming soft again. It had been going on like this all day, getting worse little by little. the 16 year old not sure what was going on. She looked up as her brother walked in, seeing her he rushed over, dropping his gear as he knealt beside her.
"Ali, what's wrong? Talk to me?"
"They won't stop...the voices...they won't go away..."
He looked around before cursing and running over to his belt, yanking off his phone he flipped it open and waited, he spoke into it swiftly, quietly and watched his sister as she rocked back and forth on her bed.
"Madam Touch, I don't know what's wrong with her."
The smooth voice coming from the other side of the line calm and soothing.
"I'll be there shortly, try to keep her calm."
He hung up the phone and walked back to his sister, holding her and waiting for the woman to show, moments later the door slid open and she walked in, her raven clolored hair shineing in the light as she glided over to Ali. Kneeling down she put her hand to the young girls forehead and nodded almost instatly.
"Her powers are developing. She is going to be a very powerful mentalist. What kind of mental power...I can not say. Give her time, she'll push through."
Jason nodded and watched the woman go, turning back to his sister as she sobbed.
-------------------

"That bastard! That's really why he was chaseing you around?"
18 year old Ali shook her head, wiping silent tears from her face.
"It's no big deal Jason. Really."
"You've been dating the guy for how long now?"
"Almost 2 years..."
"And all he wanted was to get into your pants. Your sure?"
She tapped the side of her head as another silent tear slid down her cheek.
"I can read his emotions remember? I'm positive."
He growled low in his throat and she saw the sparks faly up and down his arm as his anger flared.
"I'll kill that son of a-"
"No, it's alright. It'll teach me to try and get close to any one. It won't happen again."
"Alex, c'mon now, that's not what I meant..."
She shook her head and he could see her eyes begin to dull slightly, hardening her self up already from the world outside.
"It's fine. It'll save me alot of pain this way. I don't ever want to feel this way again."
"Ali, don't lose yourself because of this moron...please?"
"I refuse to get hurt again Jason. I won't do it. Never again."
Jason sighed, from than on his sister barely laughed and she began to get very work orianted.
-------------------
5 Years later....

Ali threw the chair acorss the table and kicked the vase from the end table as Hank stood in a corner watching the mayhem.
"You! You sent him there! Why?! Is it not enough you have to stip me of my parents but now my brother?!"
"Talon, I merely sent him on a mission. If he perished it was his own stupidity."
Ali felt rage bubble under the surface as she felt the man's complete lack of concern for her brother's death. She spun around and connected her foot with another vase and sent if flying at the man, he shook his head and raised a large piece of earth blocking the cermaic pottery.
"Talon, you need to settle down."
"Like hell! Why are you so intent on destroying my family?!"
She looked at him, seething and began to stalk towards him only to fall to the floor screaming in agony, a tall, thin man stepping forward. Hank held up his hand.
"Be at ease Anthony, I think she gets the idea."
Ali lay on the floor, tears flowing from her eyes, confused and in pain she didn't try to fight back anymore as she succumbed to her grief. Hank walked forward and put his hand on her head shushing her gently.
"Easy now Talon, I have much more for you to do. There's no point in you wasting your life. If I were you I would harden my self. Don't get close to anyone, you'll only lead to their death."
She sobbed and curled in on herself as the two men left her room, from than on, she would never be the same.
--------------------------
1 Year Ago.....

Ali stood in front of the young man and woman, her temper riseing as she looked at her watch again, turning as the door slid open and a large framed man walked in, he was handsome, but she had more important things on her mind.
"YOUR LATE!"
"Apologies, paperwork kept me"
"I don't accept apologies, you may be a decorated soldier, but I wont have slacking in my unit. Understood?"
She could feel the urge from him to roll his eyes and clentched her fists.
"And don't roll your eyes at me" The comment brought the man to snap open his eyes in surprise, but he smiled as played it off. "My name is Ali Talon, your new Team Leader, so get use to it muscles..."
"Demmy"
Ali looked back at him, taking in his features again, but shaking her head as she dismissed them and walked away. His small grin flashing through her mind as she walked, shaking her head she frowned at her self and instantly walked to the training room putting her self through a level 10 training session. Sweat dripped from her body as she fell to her knees on the pads, her breathing harsh as his face swam in her mind, shaking her head she screamed and slammed her leg into the sand bag busting it and spilling sand onto the floor, her voice low as she spoke to her self.
"I refuse...I won't open my self again."
-----------------
His markings were strange to her, covering his entire body, he was an enigma and she watched him carefully, her emotions slowly emerging with the help of Demetri. He was an enigma and she was curious about him. She watched as the marks on his body began to glow, feeling bits and pieces of emotions coming from the man. It wasn't long til he placed a marking like his own on her wrist and sooner than she thought she connected to the man.
-----------------------
Ali looked at her team, her brother's fur brushing her skin as she watched the two men drop down and begin their search for Sybille.
"Jason, put me down."
"Your insane, you're not going to find them"
She shook her head and slammed her elbow into his chest making him groan and drop her, she winced as she landed on her injured leg, she limped forward, stopping as a green glow began to surround her, followed by a gasp. Sheild was by his wife's side instantly.
"What is it Touch? What's the matter?"
"Stop her...Stop her!"
They all watched as Ali turned to face them and smiled sadly before dropping down into the hole in the earth, landing she winced again, her arm and leg still sore, standing she followed the noises of battle towards the two men she loved and the one she wanted dead more than anything. Demitri huffed air quickly into his lungs, the gash from Sybilleâ??s blade went deeper into the man than eh originally thought, coughing up blood from their fight, the soldier sunk to one knee to regain some energy. Marcus seemed ready to take on his duties, to finish whatever debt he had with this mad man, both glaring at one another, Sybille with victory on his mind, Marcus with revenge for all the things the man has put him, and his new allies through. He was esponsible for so much death,m destruction and chaos in the mystics world, using Demitri to kill Blues, his only friend left from years passed by was now dead at the hands of Sybilleâ??s dirty work of using others. Still, he hated Demitri still for knowing it was him alone, at least his body, that dealt the killing blow to his friend. The swords left behind for his memory, wishing Blues was more direct about his final words, it fueled the mystic to no bounds to finish off the twisted man. Demitri finally gathered the strength to stand as he clenched both of his fists, Sybille glanced over at the giant, still wearing his sick smile he donned many a times theyâ??ve met in person. It brought hatred to the giant as he spat blood to his side before cleaning the smere on his lips.

â??This isnâ??t over, not by a long shot Sybilleâ? Demitri dashed towards the man, Sybille was surprised he had any fight in him still, but it dindâ??t damper the mans phesad as we welcomed the futile effort to stop his master plans. Demitri was a raging bull, pumping his legs to speed his body into full momentum as he came closer and closer to Sybille, before they could reach arms distance, the soldier flipped over the mans body, turning his torso to face the confused enemy as Demitri roundhoused kicked the man. Sybille grunted as he spun several times, only to land on his feet once again.

â??Fooling Wind Wizard, you think I will not heal from physical damaâ?¦.â? Sybille was cut off when a stone fist extended from the wall behind Marcus, trailing like a snake in the air until it collided with his body. Marcus whispered a couple of spells while Demitri made his dash, the stone fist carried Sybille into the air and turned downwards, colliding his body to the ground. The impact was enough to shake both Demitri and Marcus, but both men held their ground as the tremors stopped.

â??You obviously suck at teamwork punkâ? Demitri smiled, he knew the fight was far from over, but they had an advantage over the man, a slight one at that, but it was enough to deal as much damage as they could. Their main objective was the get the book away from his grasp. Marcus began to chant another spell, but a stone collum rose from beheath the mystic, striking him in the stomach, much like hanks attack in the ballroom. Marcus grunted as he was sent into the air, blood leaving his lips as he floated for a moment, Demitri made a dash to come underneath his ally and catch him, but he was shot with flash of lightning that rose from the ground, sending him sliding and rolling as the giant shook in pain. Sybilleâ??s laugh filled the room as the stone that held him exploded, the twisted being walked out casually as he appeared in the light once again.

â??Now now, thatâ??s no way to insult someone. After all, I will be one of many Gods you will bow down to, if I let you live that isâ? Laughing once again as he blasted Demitri again with a shot of lightning, stronger this time as it sent the to the wall. The giant bounced hard off the wall as he landed face first, the same time, Marcus finally landed on the ground as he too skidded before stopping. The mystic groaned in pain, he could tell something broke inside of his body, the swelling presented itself quickly as Marcus held his side. Stinging pain coursed through that area, it was getting tougher to move as the man stood slowly, shaking and almost falling right back down. Demitri stopped his convulsing as he groaned, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as he thought about their current situation. They were indeed in a losing battle, even if they had all their members facing off against the man, it would do the group no different. One by one, they would have fallen like Demitri and Marcus have already. Demitrit thought about all his wrongs heâ??s done in the past, a sense of guilt washed over the man as he remembered promises heâ??s made to Ali: Never to harm her, to always love her, to make her part of her familyâ?¦but it seemed like it wouldnâ??t happen if Sybille got his way. To all who were involved with the case, it seemed like dark times were about to come to fruition.

â??Marcusâ?¦â? Demitri gasped as he focused his vision, everything was a blur, blinking didnâ??t seem to change anything, it slowly dazed or went away, leaving the man to whine as he sat up slowly, ringing in his ears made it hard to focus. The mystic finally rose to his feet, hunching over as he stared at Sybille who slowly made his way towards Demitri. â??Is that really my child sheâ??s carrying?....have you two been together while I was not myself?â? The truth was the only thing the man wanted at his point, if it was going to be his time to die, he would rather know every. But no matter what, he would always love Ali, and always will till his dieing breath. Marcus narrowed his eyes, his actions were just as shameful and greedy when the situation arose itself, but he owed it that much to his ally to tell the truth.

â??Yes and yes he mated with your loved one Wind Wizardâ? Sybille interrupted before Marcus could speak, standing over the giant on the ground as he conjured a ball of lightning in his palm. Demitri could see the stare Sybille gave to him as he looked down upon the giant, the light from the energy ball flickered wildly as if it were a strobe light. But Demitri could only concentrate on the truth. The love he felt for Ali was more than heâ??s had for anyone else, not admitting to her that she wa his first love, and his ideas of her being there forever entrapped the man in a happy dream that he would hope would last forever. The pain she went through losing her memories, the suffering he felt not having her scent, her body or her voice close by, the mental connection theyâ??ve made over the time period. The sheer pleasure of havnig her to himself while they relaxed on the island, over and over they made love and it was as if the heavens themselves approved of their match. The pain he put her through when he was a slave to a mad man, the physical and mental worry heâ??s dealt when the giants mind was not his ownâ?¦there was no way to every take any of those pains back. But, Demitri knew that he still loved herâ?¦and his promise to have a family with her seemed to be coming true, even during this moment of defeat at the hands of Sybille. Suddenly, his heart pumped loudly in the mans body, everything froze for a moment, time and space itself stopped as the giant heard a voice familiar to him. It was but a whisper, but loud enough for the giant to make out clearly in his ears:

â??Help will come when you least expect itâ?¦â?

Demitri was dumbfounded at the fact he couldnâ??t remember who it was from, or where he heard it from in the first place, but some strength slowly pumped into his veins as he felt time slowly come back to life, the light flickering from Sybilleâ??s lightning ball flashed wildly once again.

â??This is the end for you Wind Wizardâ? Sybille laughed as he raised his hand, prepared to bring the lightning blast down onto the soldier, forcing his arm down, he succeeded in his goal, the blast collided and brought up gravel and dirt. Marcus stood shocked, he couldnâ??t believe it came so quickly, Sybille used his own wind powers to clear the mist, but when the mist cleared, Demitriâ??s body was not on the ground in a bloody mess. â??How can this be-â?? Before the man could protest, Demitri appeared behind Sybille, locking his massive arms under Sybilles and arms and lacing his fingers behind the mans neck. Sybille squirmed as Demitri held tightly, feet planted as his eyes glowed white, shooting off small sparks of white lightning here and there as he held the mad man in his spot. The book of set dropped from Sybille's hands and down onto the floor below, the mad man cursed as he tried to free himself from the muscular mans headlock.

â??Iâ??m not dying by your hands punkâ? Demitri turned his body as the two faced Marcus, still stunned to see his ally alive, but now they had an opening. â??Take the shot or I take you Marcusâ? Demitri roared as he could feel electricity from his enemy course through his body, the pain was breathtaking as the man wanted to scream in pain. But the giants eyes glowed brighter as white sparks of lightning increased in intensity, suddenly the pain went away with each second that passed. Sybille was amazed Demitri was still able to have a solid hold of the man, even when being shocked. Marcus whispered a spell, longer than the other ones a Sybille returned his gaze to the mystic, he knew what incantation he was speaking of as his eyes opened open in fear. There was a sudden noise that echoed in the room, all three men looked around for a moment before shuffling could be heard, it was coming closer and closer to their location. Sybille struggled, but Demitri held his place grappling the mad man.

Ali leaned on the wall trying to catch her breath, she couldn't tell how long she had been running, but her chest burned and the newly healed injuries throbbed with pain. She could hear the sounds of the fight getting closer, she knew she was going the right direction. Taking a deep breath she summoned more willpower and stood erect and began to run again. She had to get to them, she had to help them, if either of them were to die, she would die inside as well. She gasped as her weak, newly healed leg gave out on her and she hit the stone floor on one knee, she looked at her hand as it landing in something wet, her hand came off the floor red and she felt panic well inside of her at the sight of the blood. Unble to tell whose it was she pushed her self to her feet and began to run. Pushing her legs as hard as she could she rounded the corner to see Marcus kneeling on the ground, Demetri stood behind Sybille holding the man in a head lock, his eyes white and sparks of white lightning flashing across his skin. She sighed as both seemd to be in one piece if not worse for wear, but she felt her heart stop as black mist began to swirl around Sybille, feeling her stomach twist she ran forward and tackled Demetri to the floor as a large, wicked sword passed above their heads, catching the end of her hair and chopping almost half an inch off of it. Demetri wrapped his arms around the body that had collided with him, the scent making him freeze.
"Alex?"
She sat up slightly, still breathing heavily and looked at him, tears welling up in her eyes as his own turned hazel and stared back at her.
"I'm sorry! Please, forgive me...I'm so sorry..."
He blinked slightly before pulling her close and holding her tightly for a breif moment before he sat up, wincing at the pain from his wounds, looking down at her he frowned.
"What the hell are you doing down here?! Are you trying to get your self killed?"
"I-I couldn't let you do this alone!"
He stood slowly and looked down at her still sitting on the stone floor unable to stand, her legs far to weak. She felt her heart break as he looked between her and Marcus, frowning slightly.
"I just want the truth Ali, from you."
She nodded and opened her mouth but felt her voice leave her as she saw the black mist riseing from the floor around her, Demetri's eyes going wide as he reached for her, Marcus calling her name. She suddenly found herself being held above the ground, the cold feel of a dagger held to her stomach as a strong arm wrapped around her throat. Sybille walked forward in front of her and smiled.
"Go ahead little one, tell him the trust, this will be the last time you have to tell him how you truly feel. Tell him how you betrayed him."
She shook her head as her tears spilled down her cheeks, she met Demetri's eyes and choked on her breaths as the dagger knicked her skin causing a growl to come from Marcus as both men stood, breathing heavily. Sybille stroked a finger down her cheek, letting it slid down her neck and her chest to rest against the scar between her breasts caused by Demetri's wind blast.
"Tell him, my little sacrafical lamb. Let your final words break him."
She took a deep breath and bit her lip softly before speaking.
"I love you Demetri. I never stopped loving you. Yes...Marcus and I-We...we were together while you were gone, and I can say that I fell in love with him...but please...don't-don't blame him! Just don't think badly of him...we were both so lost...and I-I was so alone with out you..."
Demetri looked away from her, clearly hurt but her next words caused him to look back at her.
"But I never forgot you! There was never a day that went by that I didn't think about you! My love for you never lessened. The child I carry is proof of that, your child! OUR child!"
She glanced over at Marcus who was still kneeling on the stone floor, Sybille's crule laughter echoing in the stone halls.
"Yes, now you know the truth of her betrayl. Now my little lamb, what about my dear mentor? What do you have to say to him?"
She smiled, the soft, sweet smile she reserved for him glowing on her face making him inhale a sharp breath as he saw it.
"Thank you. You healed the tears in my heart. You kept me whole while I was torn in half. You saved me from my dispair and, no matter what happens. A piece of my heart will always belong to you. A part of me will always love you."
Both men watched in horror as Cloak threw the dagger to Sybille who smile wickedly and thrust the dagger forward, Marcus and Demetri calling out for the woman they loved but blinded as a bright flash of light flared through the small hall, Sybille's scream echoing around them. When the light dimmed the could see Ali laying on the ground unconsious, blood seeping from under her shirt, a large gash wrapping around her stomach, to high to hurt the child but deep enough to worry the men about blood loss. Sybille cursed as he looked at the hilt of the dagger in his hand, the blade gone. He looked at Cloak as he pulled another dagger from his boot and walked towrds Ali's prone form as Cloak strode forward getting between them. Edited by Knuckles' Girl

OOC: I'm borrowing your format, Mage and KG. It's just too good not to use. Also, it will help explain some things about Pocket too.

IC:

Pocket stored her Barret rifle back in her mind. There was no point in using a weapon that was so precise against a target that could move like Cloak. Pocket wanted to chase after Ali, she really did, but right now she had to deal with the teammate who had betrayed them all. She was never that close to Cloak, as she was with the others. But she did try to talk to him outside of his duties of transporting the team around. He had seemed like a nice guy. Pocket's rage burned though, when she realized that even then he was planning on betraying all of them for promises from Sybille. She now knew what weapon would be perfect for this job. Holding out her hand, a dark weapon appeared and she grabbed it. It would have been called a billhook, if it didn't have other blades coming out in strange places, like misshapen teeth. Before Pocket could get a chance to use it though, Cloak appeared in front of her, his hand grabbing her throat. His grip tightened as her mind went to other times...

18 years ago, in an apartment complex like any other. The happiest day in Calypso's life

"Caly, we're home!" Calypso's father called out happily.

Three year old Calypso found her way to the front door, her aunt following behind.

"Here you go, Caly. It's your new baby sister." Calypso's mom said, leaning down so her first born could see.

Calypso stared in amazement and joy. She had a sister. She had a sister!

10 Years later, a different apartment complex in both location and quality

Things hadn't gone very well for the Velius family. The father had lost job after job. And with now two daughters to feed, things were a lot harder than when they only had Calypso. This drove him to drink and bad mouth his youngest daughter. The same father who used to give her so many praises, since she was the youngest. Calypso couldn't stand to see this and since her mom wouldn't do or say anything, she had to stand up and protect her little sister. Her plan didn't accomplish much, but give her a portion of what her youngest sister had to put up with.

"Come on, you can play with any of my dolls okay?" Calypso said to her sister, bringing her into her room to try to comfort her.

It was then that she saw it. She pushed her sister's sleeve up.

"What's this?" She asked, already knowing the answer but not wanting to believe it.

"Did he...Did he hurt you?" Calypso asked, looking at the bruises.

Her younger sister only nodded as Calypso cried.

"I don't know when, but we're getting out of here." Calypso cried as she hugged her sister.

A few months later...

Calypso's plan to run away backfired. She was caught trying to wake up her sister to take her away. Her father guessed at what they were doing and hurt Calypso until she couldn't move. Her plan had come at a bad time. Certain neighbors and coworkers kept making mention that Calypso's mother was a witch. Her father tried to get it out of his wife what everyone was talking about, but she never would explain. He would just hit her too as she kept her silence.

A few days later, when Calypso was bruised but not sore anymore, her sister came running into her room with tears in her eyes. Her father followed after her angrily. Calypso recognized that look. Her younger sister was going to get the worst beating she had ever had. Calypso tried to reach out and hug her sister to herself to try to protect her, but what happened instead shocked and terrified Calypso. Her sister just vanished suddenly before her eyes. It seemed like a bad dream, but her father screaming 'witch' and beating her again and again reminded her that it was too real. Calypso slipped into unconsciousness.

When she awoke, her mother was nowhere to be found. Her father was the only one at the house, but Calypso wasn't sure. She didn't want to check though, since she could smell death. She threw up and ran out of that apartment complex, never to go back again. Her life would change now.

Several years later...

Calypso had lived on the streets, doing what she did best. Stealing. She found out that if she imagined it, she could take an item and make it disappear in an instant. What had surprised her the most though, was that she could later bring back that same item. This was very helpful for her survival. She had one friend, named Bion who was her partner in crime. She never told him about how she was able to steal so well. She also never really got a chance to tell him her real name. He just called her Pickpocket but soon, Pocket for short. She always laughed at that name. She always wanted to tell him how appropriate it was.

One day though, Pocket was caught. She thought it was by the police, but it was someone else. A man who said he knew about her powers. She thought it was a bluff, but he gave her a convincing demonstration to prove he wasn't bluffing. She stopped playing dumb and gave an example of her power in return. He seemed interested and told her that he had a place she could stay. It wasn't the police and it was better than being homeless, so she accepted. She never got a chance to say goodbye to Bion though.

A few months later, location:
CLASSIFIED

Pocket, in her new home, seemed like a completely different person from who she was in the past. She smiled a lot more and actually laughed after all of those years. She opened up quickly to everyone who helped her train or trained with her. Superior officer and subordinate, she was friendly to all of them. (Well, not to the subordinates, but only because she was still a new member to the team and didn't have anyone under her.)
She was now a part of Team Alpha.

Some years later, Egypt...

Pocket thought this was going to be an easy mission. Just go and find a city that wasn't there. Not be able to find it, since it didn't exist and then head back home. However, like all of their missions had been after meeting Sybille, it was much more than she expected it to be. Both bad and good. As for the good though, she met one of the newer members of their team. Someone that would later be very helpful to her and a part of her Alpha family. The Marked Man, Marcus.

Several months later, location: another dimension or a dream?

Pocket's words had brought both Calypso and Marcus inside of the tower, where Pocket hugged the Body and cried. Calypso stopped her fight against Marcus and fell on her knees and echoed Pocket's tears. Soon, Marcus had watched as all three of Pocket's entities had come together. The next time his eyes saw Pocket, it was in the real world. She had woken up as well, her hair color permanently changed from the experience. She didn't know until he had pointed it out to her. She checked a mirror and said:

"Cool."

She turned around when she heard Marcus calling her by her nickname. She shook her head and smiled.

"I know that nickname has stuck and I wouldn't trade it for anything, but feel free to call me Calypso from time to time okay?"

Present time...

Pocket fought against Cloak's grip on her, trying to concentrate. However, it felt like years that he had had his hands around her throat. The other members of the group, that weren't tied up with fighting Sybille or going to help Ali, ran towards Pocket or Cloak. They seemed to run in slow motion though and Pocket knew that she would die before they got to her and Cloak would just vanish again. She had to do something.

"Goodbye, Pocket." Cloak said, smiling and eager to break her neck.

His words though, brought anger and concentration back to her. Just enough for her to summon a bladelet close to where his hands had been. Cloak jumped back in time to not sustain any injuries as Pocket put on her bladelet.

"My name is Calypso!" Pocket yelled, angrily.

She was ready for battle, but Cloak vanished. Probably to help Sybille. With Cloak now gone, Calyspo had no reason not to follow Ali. She jumped down the same hole, hoping she could make it in time.

OOC: Just to let you know, KG. This all happened before Cloak teleported down to Sybille and Ali and everyone.
Also, sorry for borrowing the same format. But at least it got me motivated to make a long post finally. ^^ Edited by Lilt
