Desert Shadow

Desert Shadow (registered 2000/2001) was a popular member of the OB many years ago. He was an artist, occasionally posting drawings or sketches (notably of buckets). He also occasionally posted poetry in the General Discussion (now Otaku Lounge) forum, one of the first to do so. (This was well before there was a designated forum for written works.) One of his poems was posted on theOtaku’s main page in 2001 or 2002.

Desert Shadow (also “DS”) frequently used the phrase “silly bucket” and at one point became head of the Silly Bucket Brigade, an early signature club. This became a long-running and popular inside joke among people who were members of the club or participated in his threads.

His favorite number was 72, and he threw a 72nd Post Party to celebrate when his post count reached that number.

Notable trivia: DS always posted in plain bold text. This was before custom font size/colors were available, so he was the first person to have a “signature” posting style.
