Topaz

 

Topaz’s artwork was anything but for the dogs.

Topaz, real name Mary Young, born October 23, 1983.  This Carolina native used the name Topaz as a tribute to her beloved pet, for it was the name of her dog.  She was part Japanese and was fond of DragonBall Z’s original badboy, Vegeta. Topaz even created a character for herself rooted in Akira Toriyama’s art style. 

 

Topaz was a frequent poster in OtakuBoard’s Art Studio; members generally embraced her hand drawn work as exceptional. She had a reputation for drawing DragonBall Z inspired characters adapted to her own “punk” style and for drawing characters for other OB members, including will2x and Voodookanaka, upon request.

She had her own website as well, called Open Legends, which can be found here.  masterfork was a regular of her site’s forums, which he a hand in running.  Those forums are still up today, however they have nothing to do with her site anymore.  They can be found here.
