Zatoichi the Samurai

[Shinken]

Has anyone else here seen those old Zatoichi movies? It's about a blind samurai who basically has a very crappy life. They're pretty good, and they play 'em on IFC each Saturday. Unfortunately, a few of them are in black and white, so they don't look/sound so good. The color ones are better, though. So, who's seen 'em, and who thinks I'm just an idiot? Or who goes with both?

[LostProphet]

Yeah, I've kinda watched them. I don't pay attention because I have ADD...wanna go bike riding?

[Shinken]

Hmm... Bike riding online. Sounds like a good game concept. Or maybe not. Um... Not. 0_0x; (FYI: The X is the scar on Kenshin's face)

ooooooo, i've seen the Blind Swordsman. he AWESOME, i love them all, even the black and white ones. pretty much anything by Akira Kurasawa is a masterpiece.

Ermmmm, hate to ask a dumb question, but I'm really not familiar with what network IFC (something family channel?) stands for, can anyone drop me a bone? ^_^

Thanks.

Yeah Zatoichi is great. It wasn't directed by Kurasawa though. And if you don't get IFC (independent film channel) contact your local underground indie video store to get 'em.

calmlikeabomb is right, it's not kurosawa, i got confused. sorry. neverhteless, he's pretty damn cool. and so are a lot of kurosawa movies i recomend him if you like zatoichi. although he is a bit more serious, but just as cool.

Yaay, I'm not crazy!!! There's just one thing about those movies that gets me; if he's blind, then how the heck does he get around so well? I mean, feudal Japan's towns were pretty far apart, so how did he make it to each different town so easily? But Zatoichi still kicks butt. Even if he can't see it.^^x;
