EDIT: I Thought I should add my favorite songs as well. To tell you the truth this topic doesn't seem like it will fly with the moderators for the most part because, it's just a favorites topic. You NEED to essentially ask why these people like the bands and give an explanation of your own for why you like the bands you've posted as well. I know I'm not a moderator or anything, but I would like to give you heads up on that point alone. So yeah I know I shouldn?t be taking the duties of the moderator, but I felt it necessary as so to tell him that. Anyways my favorite bands are (Not in any particular order.) The Cure; (Goth Rock, pertaining though to only certain cds. ?Pornography? for one example.) I?ve as of late have been listening to this band and it?s just a great, great band. Robert Smiths voice is a really neat voice to listen too and the lyrics are especially one of the things that appeal to me. Just in essence even the way the instruments are played are neat. I especially like the use of a saxophone I believe it was in the ending of the song ?A Night Like This?. Which the same song was the song that got me started on listening to The Cure. 1. Pictures of You 2. Pornography 3. The Hanging Garden 4. A Night Like This 5. A Strange Day Cradle of Filth; (Black Sympho - Metal) Danni Filth, one of my favorite vocalists. Why? Because somehow he turns screams into something harmonic in a disgruntled sort of way. The lyrics.. are Cliche it?s true for most parts but at the same time that that they are cliche, they seem to have an awesome effect and the instruments played go great with it as well. This really the only black metal I like anymore besides a little bit of Dimmu Borgir and Burzum. 1. Her Ghost In The Fog 2. Babylon A.D. (So Glad for the Madness) 3. Fear of the Dark (Iron Maiden Cover) 4. Bathory Aria 5. Hallowed Be Thy Name (Iron Maiden Cover) Nine Inch Nails; (Industrial Rock) What can I say about NIN? Honestly, just one of my absolute favorite bands to listen to and really the only Industrial Band I like to listen too. Trent Reznor has an excellent voice, the instruments are played well, all the sounds and noises in between are mixed together and each album has taken a turn to something different. Though my personal favorite album right now is The Downward Spiral. 1. Closer 2. The Wretched 3. And All That Could Have Been... 4. The Great Below 5. Down In It Smashing Pumpkins; (Not sure what Smashing Pumpkins is) I Can?t say to terribly much about this group though all in all I still can?t stop listening to their one CD Siamese Twins. Great CD and my current favorite song by them is ?Disarm? on that Cd. But my personal favorite track on Mellin Collie and the Infinite Sadness which is ?Bullet With Butterfly Wings? and this song got me into the Smashing Pumpkins. 1. Disarm 2. Bullet With Butterfly Wings 3. 1979 4. Eye 5. Ava Adore and.. Our Lady Peace; (Alternative Rock) I really don?t know what to say about this band except for the fact that their older stuff just rules and for most people I recommend the CD?s. Though I guess their pretty much mainstream, but they?re the one of very few bands that are actually good in the mainstream music. 1. Naveed 2. Is Anybody Home? 3. Clumsy 4. Supermans Dead 5. Stealing Babies (This song is a very good song) Oh and Friday 13 I just want to mention Emperor is a good Black Metal band but only their old stuff >> and same with Dimmu Borgir.. their first two CD?s were good when they did it in their own language, Norwegian. But the rest.. just honestly sucked, though the new, new CD I guess isn?t to bad.

I have to agree with Samjaza on this one. They really are derivative and sure there one song is catchy; "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". But it is just a song that.. has nothing new to it, though it's still catchy. I though can listen to Jet without wanting break my radio. But they're not much in my own opinion even with their success and for Australian bands.. I only like one band that's been derived from that area and that would be Nazxul, which I've barely listened too. As well no-one here would know of this band either unless they were or are heavily into "Black Metal" or otherwise just by chance they might know. So yeah anyways, Jet is just mediocre really.

Ok...first of all you need to work on your spelling, just please. I know I'm not a mod or anything but take it through a spell check on the Internet or one on your word processing program. Which is most likely Microsoft Word. But please, please work on your spelling. Anyways.. Yes I like the smashing pumpkins and they are another very good band that I listen too. I own one of their cd's and though I only one, I just can't get over them. I've been listening to them for about 2 years and my current favorite song is still "Disarm".

I was thinking about a new banner of "The Cure". So basically what I want... is whatever comes out of the pictures that I choose. SO here are the picsture that are included. http://mclub.te.net.ua/images/alb/cover620_12539.jpg http://mclub.te.net.ua/images/alb/cover620_11421.jpg http://mclub.te.net.ua/images/alb/cover620_11424.jpg http://www.onemillionvirgins.com/divers/fonds/burn22.jpg (just use the middle part of this picture.. the big weird design that's..somewhat yellow; if your going to use this one) http://www.onemillionvirgins.com/divers/fonds/lovesong1024.jpg and if you need any other pics just ask. Anyways thank you to anyone in advanced who takes this project up. EDIT: I forgot to say I Would also like a matching avatar please and thank you.

A Breath of Shower Cutting at the raven frost... Black to the touch... Hear the red heart beat, In the sweet velvet colors. Standing in cement I watch As you pull the contents From the container away. That little crossover From the river. A river, a shed, a watered down feeling. Standing in the sour forest; A portrait of Siamese twins. One of ivory Another of sweet deceit and lavender. Hanging from the buildings side. A river, crystal crimson. Cleansed of chained thoughts Against the standing charm. Sniffing the ground like a dog For a showers redemption. Vivacious and full of death, As a bird of property Steals my solemn left alone special place. Arching over the swirls of you I pull myself deeper into the showers face. Caressing it's perfect demonic Perspiration locks of a watered soul. Breathe into the faucet. Breathe into the blanket. Breathe into the nights wish. Breathe in the suffocating air of a mannequin. Swords clang and clash and break. Clang, clash and shake. Clang, clash, Clang, clash.. Shake, clang, clash. Breaking the mother?s decrepit back. Ire of something beyond the curtains life. That river of showers is pulling that nothingness Further down the tube. And as it cycles down, I cycle the wheels Of the monsters hate, pedaling fast to catch the Eyes of a stygian desert. It's stabbing my hands with rain. Icicles penetrating the sandy street of where I roam. All being washed over with waters desire. All being broke, broke, broken. Clang, clash, Clashing, like the sounds of broken bells. Clang, clash, shaking, vibrating of sour yellow Flour yells. Impaling the flowerbed soil, crushing the nights lighting. Clattering, clanging, banging, hitting. Following the path to the drain, cutting the wrists. No more talking Just me doing, Falling deeper into the solving solution Of acidic dangers. A shower, That knows no end. Breathing into the faucets neck. Breathing into the blankets body. Breathing into the nights singing choirs wishful thinking. Breathing into the synthetic river of mannequins time. Clashing, breaking, singing, breathing. Please breathe away the strange days... Please.. I stay in the shower... A shower that knows no end A shower...that knows.. That... that... that.. There is no... no... no end. Please rate and review people.

Actually that is quite an annoyance, I guess I'll be downloading those extra songs. It's not like I'll be be going out of my way to buy them, when I can barely even get my hands on CD's released in the U.S. and Canada. Either way, I still look very forward to this album. Oh, btw I agree with you that album cover rules.
I think Willow's cameos, however, were well placed. They were usually very short, anyway. Cordelia calls her to ask about Harmony. That cameo lasted a good 5 minutes. She shows up to tell Angel Buffy killed herself. That cameo was a brief 10 seconds. Willow's only long cameo was the episode she re-ensouled Angel, and I enjoyed that episode. Her chemistry with Fred was funny. I do wish, however, that Buffy would have at least appeared in the episode "The Girl In Question." I wanted to see Buffy and The Immortal, even if Angel and Spike never did catch up to them. You know, sometimes I feel like I'm the only person who liked Illyria. Most fans hate her because Fred's character had to completely die in the process. But I saw so much potential in her character, especially after
Wesley's death
. The same can be said for Kennedy (Willow's second girlfriend). They were only on their respective shows for one season (specifically the last season), and I think fans would've eventually warmed up to them. Goodness knows nobody liked Riley at first, but fans were strangely sad to see him go. And while I'm on my long-winded streak... Nina. Her character was handled so badly. Buffy had a new boyfriend every other week on her show (Riley, Ben, a couple of dates during college, that guy Xander set her up with, even Spike). Angel was left with his ex coming back to life (Darla) and Cordelia. Then when they both (sadly) have their respective deaths, and we learn that Angel can have sex without consequence, he gets Nina. How many episodes was she in? 3? Their best moments together took place when he was a puppet. They could've at least sprinkled her into the background for a few episodes. Having her around more probably would've actually made
her breakup with Angel
sad.
Well Willow's I do agree was well placed, I still didn't like it to terribly much. But it wasn't as bad as Buffy's by a long shot. But it still brought the episodes somewhat down really in my own personal opinion. I actually in a way would have liked to have seen Buffy for a split second in the one episode about the Immortal. Not of her like talking or anything, but just her somewhere and it would of been cool to see the Immortal as well. I actually liked Illyria, more then Fred for that matter. She appealed to me much more then Fred did. Though Fred never was a bad character in my eyes, I always liked her anyways and yes I was actually already starting to get used to her being in the series. I just liked her presence for some reason. As for Nina... I agree with you completely, she wasn't really there enough to even seem like she was anything important at all. She didn't even really seem like Angel's girlfriend in the long run, just someone he cared about.. but not to the extent of having that much feelings towards her. So anyways, yes I just wanted to say my actual favorite part of that episode was with Lorne and what happened to Lisdney after he finished his job. It actually was.. just great, it really just shows Lornes true side. The part with Wesely and Illyria was next on my list.

Nope there wasn't any slaying involved.
It just ended at the hordes and hordes of evil demonic creatures all raging towards them in a crazed frenzy. For some reason I automatically thought of an opening scene of a war when all the monsters charged in Lord of the Rings, in the second movie anyways.
Did anyone else think of that?
I'm so glad Buffy wasn't in the final ending. I can't stand Buffy and I dont' want it to ruin Angel. The show was about Angel, not Buffy. If she showed up and her little slayerettes or whatever that could've easily ruined the show for me.
Actually I am very glad that she wasn't, I honestly think she and Willow ruined the episodes they were in, when they did those cameo apperances in the show. It just didn't work at all. Now as for Faith though, I think that she worked perfectly in Angel and even better then when she was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
...ew.
If that's what I Think it's for then.. I am quoting for truth.. >> Anyways, yes NIN is an amazing band. Though not my absolute favorite band they are on my top five list. There music has always, always appealed to me. They were basically the band that changed my music spectrum from mainstream to actual music that is worth listening too. Nine Inch Nails is just one band I think I can find myself listening to in another 10-15 years and even further. Because they are one of the bands that influenced me a lot along with Cradle of Filth, Our Lady Peace, and The Cure. Which is surprisingly all VERY different types of music in context. As far as Trent Reznors' music has gone, it's evolved and it hasn't left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth like some other music I used to listen to once it evolved. It still keeps to a very unique style and I just love it. There is nothing quite like Nine Inch Nails and I respect that and it's why I like the music so much. As far as the albums I own. I own The Downward Spiral, Pretty Hate Machine, and ...And All That Could Have Been. Currently my favorite one out of all them is actually The Downward Spiral. I'm still aiming for sometime this summer or at least this year to purchase The Fragile. But I have basically listened to all of their music at one point or another, and even some of the rare songs like the cover for "Supernaut".

Well... actually yes it was just rushed, to rushed and now there wont be any more episodes. I'm sad actually for the most part, one of my favorite T.V. series ever is being cancelled. But I thought that wasn't the last episode, if it is, that kind of sucks.. at least another episode worth of demon slaying would be nice I guess and few more twist but I guess that isn't happening. Well cheers to an amazing series end.

I as so many other people here have stated, love The Cure. I really do, they are just one of my absolute favorite bands. I'm hoping they might think of traveling to Canada for touring.. or if not at least going to Seattle to play so I can see them since it's not to long of a drive to get there. As for the new Album. That's great, I've been waiting for a new one to be released anyways and more music means even more of The Cure and it just good that they are still releasing more and more albums. I still have yet to hear the new song though sadly, but I will eventually.

Embarassing CDs that I Own... well I really have to say that all of my collection it would have to be "Uncle Kracker". I have no idea what I Was thinking when I bought that CD, it just isn't something I like to listen to and is just.. not eve that good of a cd. As for other CD's though that embarrass me a little, I guess owning 2 blink 182 cds does and these contemplation mix Cds that are of the best music in mainstream for a certain year. Those just neh, I don't know what I was thinking for the most part. Though some of the songs were pretty good on them and the great thing is none of the songs were pop on those CDs. I guess at one time I was embarrassed that I listened to Our Lady Peace. But that's when I was way younger and didn't know any better or at least realize all the differences in reality of high school. Now I just don't care what people say about Our Lady Peace, they just are a great band. But as far as my CD collection goes. I went from Country, to Mainstream, to Punk, to Alternative Rock, To rock in general, to Industrial Rock, to Black Metal and Power and Progressive Metal and Doom-Metal and then to "Goth" rock which is The Cure and Souixsie and the Banshees (Both awesome, awesome bands) What I still currently listen to is. Rock, Industrial Rock, Alternative Rock, Progressive, power, doom and black metal, Country and Goth Rock. So all in all I'm not embarrassed too much to what I listen to. Oh there is one other Cd I really don't like and that is the Korns CD the "Untouchables" just a horrible and basically embarrassing CD to own. Though all there older CD's make up for it.

Ha, I forgot that it was you that made me this banner. It's a good one to and this one you just made me is even better. Thank you for it, I will take the first one there. Awesome job man. Once again thank you for the banner. I don't suppose you could make me a quick avatar too?

I'd like another banner now, I've been trying to think of what I wanted for my next banner for some time now and finally without thinking about it ironically I came across an idea. So here it is. I would like a banner with these pictures on it (it doesn't have to have every picture actually.) and it to say "Burzum" whever it would look most suitable on the completed project. So here is the pictures. http://www.blackmetal.com.br/galeria/downloads/wallpapers/burzum_hlidskjalf1024.jpg http://www.decadenza.net/burzum/burzum%204.png http://www.blackmetal.com.br/galeria/downloads/wallpapers/burzum_filosofem800.jpg Hmm it's hard to find pics for a band like this. Anyways thank you to who ever makes me a banner in advanced.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Amorphous replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Heh, it's hard to write poems without any angst for me. But I must say I really like this poem. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There's a village by a beach It tells stories that we know Yes, the beauty of a peach, Moist lips that always show. A girls hair strewn in the wind Sitting upon a cliff basking, From the village I'm asking Of this beauty, all spin'd Around by her countenance, I see her there on the face staring back, I'd dance All day long, watching her pace. Just for the beauty, I'd do anything, Comparing her to the midnight moon, Anything for her, many things That I know I'd always do. Love or lust, which one can it be? I see less beauty from a grove Of flowers, or the glistening cradle of the sea Your beauty as always has it ever empowered. -
Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Amorphous replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Well I've never posted in this thread before. So here is my first poem ever posted in here. I stand above thin ice Waiting for what you are, Shone in a velvet slice Of curtains from afar, Burning fires in the passionate night, Sweet smell of righteous innocence, Caught between my crimson plight All blood swarms in cold resistance A pool of limbs In which I lay, A severed hymn From far away, Nothing lets me be In this dreadful constant sickness, Never have I seen All that is rapturous in the distant, I must forget all that wore On my own dreadful soul, Please paint all my core, All the blood soaked holes, Bind me now or I will die, In darkness upturned Please unwrap me so I can thrive In light I shall ever burn. -
Warning, this poem is pretty graphic and can be morbid at times. As well could offend people that are religious, just because of the words used. Not how they are phrased. >_>*shrugs* This all just ONE big poem, with different sections. See You In Hell Suicide And Depression [I Anger Through Suicide] Cut my lips Slit the switch Of damnation wealth Of depraved health, Hate this world And all that wakes In the feverish dawn, Simple fakes, Blood that runs In rivers spawn My hate And cut my lips So the pain Will welt my fate, ******* die In serial paint, Blood soars Further for All the cores, Anger pours From my brain that tore Itself in pieces, Drifting from the path of peace and death, Damnation eternal Amongst the mood Where pool moonlight surreal Rips me to pieces, my noon where suicide to genocide Of earth, Of Arch angles, take arsenic, lie A bloody drug of dirge. ******* die so I don't care Anymore, on hells door I will slit your wrists, Write in pure hieroglyphs Upon damnations illusion, pissed On your smoldering fate, Wrote in calligraphy swift, As potent winds That carry the wounded From a war Never will I conform To your ideas. Torn asunder from heaven All was a lie and you know Dante maps your path So sweet littered crimson be your bath, Leave me alone, So that the raven can scone, Even death failed to compare Of my drenched draconic anger in the air, Rake my limbs That have been burnt Singed from my body hymns, Screeched through times, Cracked mirrors wavered, As the quills savored The sweet emotion and power. Die on funeral grounds, cower where demons stench fills the Air, because you are, you are Going there. ******* die When you taste the poisoned wine, I laugh at you And I lay beneath the moon, Perfumed lips I slit, Ripping and tearing At your face and hits That crack your skull, Where demons run free Carried by the river of time I commit your suicide, Hide from me and the demon Across the broken land, Until I reap the son, pre sword Oaths to the polar opposites, sands of fire reign no sign of paradise, Your going to hell for your depressing slide Into darkness, ebony hangs you From death till dusk, you lied So I break your neck with a noose, Clockwork in dusks embrace I finally sooth the anger And slip away from suicide, cursed From existence, burning in hell stranger To the apocalypse of danger. [II Depression Alone] Depression weeps in by stealth, I sit in the corner by myself, A riding horseman of a burning carcass, is a stranger, Reaches out his hand in the Stygian forest, Where everything is dead and dying, A horseman of pestilence, he never rests Trying to take my life through tortures, crying Myself through his disease, I will not seize Up for you or anyone before the apocalypse of depression Comes, I bleed alone in the forest of the impaled, Where Dracul waits for me, wanting his perfect ode, My universal tide on astral lands that quailed, Where I sailed, holy vespers sailed, In site of my delighted blight Three lines defining the insanity, Depression and schizophrenic-acy And deep anger furthered me, The seas ran with acid, Coated in a warm facade, Necrologies became expansive As the dead walked my own swabbed Together, discarded, perfect, torn world, Kept to the only rhythm, falling, sinking. No wine will heal, No wrath will feel My path that is forever sealed, In the un-scryed hell Where ice reigns over fire, that peels The flesh from bone that forever swells, Always depressing concord alone, I fell over slain By emotions alone. [III Pressed To Cold Mirrors] Ruthless as the wind The Cadaverous lick Of sweeping paradise Concord light of sweet parade On light of incognito death, A grim set of cut lips Pressed to cold mirrors, tint, caress Searing my eyes, Dealt within deaths stress, The sweet smell of silent cries, Reaping the lands, with the severed hands, holding the scrolls of tolls, Damnation gates where Cerberus sits, Creeping from the withering sun And does thou of sinking into hell, Laugh of insanity crescends beyond Chronos, Demon beasts scowl with fingers Of perpetual slitting wrists, No other comfort but to hear the flesh Eating wind and a simple carnivorous kiss... Ode to the Macabre He sits In the corner, Of my gruesome room, I slip engraved in macabre tomb Written in stone it sits Waiting, Hating, darkness entwined, A gruesome battlefield, A grotesque injustice, A sickening battle kneeled Before the macabre site, Heaven and hell bound in plight Of surplus violence, ode from me To you my dearest, sweet, horrific site, Lady Macabre, Bound by grotesque light, Stripped from the sunset, Dressed for dusk, A lady crept From ebony to lust, A depressive light upon the shore Waiting delicate as to swore, Ebony a face of holocaust, A pierce in armor, Ebony is to the mid of lost cause, A laughing insanity shall be ever more, Darkness is the eyes staring Upon the stranger of light Eyes that stare Upon the height of night, To ebony my solemn light, Depression alone in the dark Ebony freeing in site Of lustful desires For bloods spite.

I am going to this years Ozzfest. Why? Because I want to see Ozzy live at least once. I don't expect him to be doing the Ozzfest or touring in the near future for much longer. That and I need to get away from my house at least once this summer. The only other band I may enjoy is Dimmu Borgir, but they are getting annoying lately. It Would have been great if Cradle of Filth had headline the second stage again. But they are making there new album, which I am looking forward to. So I'll go and see them in concert some other time.
-
I just sat down a few minutes ago and listened to the whole EP through stream. First thought that flowed through my mind as I listened was basically "huh?". This is an oddly strange piece of music. Then it just suddenly sunk into my head how awesome these guys are together. Really, I'm impressed by the sound in general and with the screaming it just adds everything I'd want from an Idustrial-ish, punkish band. I don't even listen to punk but in all seriousness this is some good stuff. It's almost in a genre on it's own. I'm actually going to compare them to something like maybe Mayhem and Burzum (Two old bands, that were considered the founders of black metal )But there vocals in some SMALL ways sounded like this. Though I'm sure they weren?t influenced by either of these bands. Anyways for similarities that?s all I can really think of at this present time. Heh I don't know what else to really say until they release an LP of some sort.

Favorite Episode?: "Hush" just because of Joss Whedon being able to completely pull of almost an hour of no talking and still make the episode amazingly awesome at the same time. Favorite Character?: Xander... why because Xander rules. I was incredibly mad when
In the seventh season Caleb punctured his eye rendering it useless for the rest of his life.
I couldn't believe it at all. Though Spike is basically tied with Xander for favorite character. Favorite Bad Guy?: Adam.. why Adam because for some reason to me he seemed more down to earth realistic as though it could "HAVE" happened for real (except for the demon body parts that were involved). Plus he was totally indestructible. How long have you liked Buffy?: Since the day it aired (I'm not exaggerating either), I watched non-stop. Have you seen a lot of episodes?: Every single episode more then twice. What seasons have you seen: Every single one. Do you own any Buffy Merchandise? If yes what?: I own a special collector bucket..(that is supposed to hold candy, like Suckers and such) which I got for Christmas, it came with stuff inside. It was awesome though. I also own season's 1,2,3,4, and 5 on DVD.

I do have to say this is quite a hard question for me. Music in essence is everything to me. I don't know how I'd live without it at all. It pushes me most of the time to keep myself going in the biggest of things and the smallest of things. Examples such as school, to the smallest of keeping me awake. Music is so vital to me that I even took it upon myself to learn guitar. So even when I don't have music to listen to on a CD player or any other way, I might have the chance of playing it on my own. Music really just transcends language and can hit you deep. It can influence me. But not often, it has to be a song that truly moves me. Though it doesn't particularly change my mood while listening to it. It usually alone makes me think of everything in life, past, present, and the future. It's why I like depressing, torturously slow music. It helps me sort out everything if I were to become depressed. Music is one of the most vital things I'll ever have. It's up there on the list of the most important things in life. It would be hard to live without it.
-
Funny you should mention Ozzfest, I'm going to that this year. There was no mention of Cradle of Filth being there. But Dimmu Borgir will be. Unless you are speaking of 2003, which they were there last year. Anyways, it's quite hard to understand the lyrics at first I do truly admit. But once you read the lyrics it makes it better. You have to do that with a lot of bands in the same genre. Anyways I do suggest listening to Damnation and A Day first, start of with something like. "Thank God For The Suffering", "Bablyon A.D.", "An Enemy Led The Tempest" and "Mannequin" Those are some of the best tracks on the album. As well as earlier songs like "Her Ghost In The Fog" and "From The Cradle to Ensalve" And Danni Filths vocals are quite harsh while playing live. So it's way harder to get to like them that way.

Request Avatar Please. [pic included, just needs to be adjusted]
Amorphous replied to Amorphous's topic in Creative Works
Thank you for doing that. I'll just save the avatar to my computer and upload from my computer. No biggy, now you can get rid of it so you don't use up as much space. -
Since no one will likely look at my other thread again, I shall ask in a new thread. Can some one take this and make it into an avatar that's 80x80 pixel size and with a border around it? and all of the black in the top left hand corner doesn't need to be there either.
