No matter what scale it is on, it's illegal. People just don't get prosecuted for making copies of a CD for friends. If all of the titles Gendo was offering were unlicensed, there wouldn't be a problem (it's still technically illegal, but we fansubbers have found what you might call a loophole in the law -- as long as there is no money involved then it's kosher), but what he's offerening is mostly licensed...hence the problem...

If you were informed on the ethics of Fansub/Digisub distrobution (what you're doing), you are supposed to ABANDON ALL LICENSED TITLES THE MINUTE THEY HAVE BEEN ANOUNCED AS LICENSED. Don't ****ing tell me to be careful. I may be egotistical, I may be an *******, and I may have one hell of a mouth, but at least I have the knowledge and know-how to back it up.

I'm just going to give you guys a courtesy rundown of the anime industry...Gooooo history lessons! In Japan, to aquire DVDs, you have to have quite the wallet. Less then 15% of the DVDs that have been released in Japan have MORE THAN 2 episodes per disc...So to sum it up, 85% of all anime DVDs that have been released in Japan contain 1-2 episodes. Pretty ******, eh? To boot, the cheapest you can find anime DVDs in Japan would be about 40 dollars US...Not bad compared to the 20 dollars we pay, wouldn't you say? So what's next? Well, you people say that anime gets butchered. This is not the case. Sure, a lot of dubbing may be poorly done, but that's the purpose of DVDs. There are very few DVDs that you will find that don't have both the English dub track and the Japanese track w/ English subtitles...And for the people who say anime is edited when it's brought over, I just don't know what to tell you. It's not. Sure, it's edited when it's on TV...But when it's transferred to DVD and then sold, you won't find any scenes missing. Of course, there are a few exceptions to this rule, but they're all hentai titles which I don't find myself watching. Hope this was semi-informative for some of you. Shin

It's got some money in it, all my pictures of me and Kiki, all my letters, my documents (passport, birth certificate), and some other assorted things. Aside from that? My 2 turntables and mixer, my vinyls, as many of my cds as I could grab, my dog...That's about it...Oh, there is that one copper plated dildo, I'd hate to see it burn to a crisp.
