Oh yeah that reminds me... If you want Wakka to get any good overdrives, etc, play a lot of blitzball. You get the following items from blitzball: Attack Reels (overdrive) Status Reels (overdrive) Aurochs Reels (overdrive) Jupiter Sigil (used to power up his final weapon) And don't make fun of me just cuz i've beaten the game and you haven't, Blitz. I'm not sure but this might be a SPOILER so ill mark it as one. ------------SPOILER------------- You can get Wakka as one of your players! that's right, he never really retired. Find him and scout him. He's actually a good player, and he is 1 gil per game! Costs 99 gil for 99 games. -----------END SPOILER---------- By the way, wither moves are really useful. Extremely useful, especially when they take away the ED stat of a player. Because of a wither tackle 2, i beat the Ronso fangs 13-1... If you wither the center and steal the ball from him/her a lot, you can score a heckuva lot of points. By the way (to everybody), what are your highest scoring games? And against who?

I didn't get Climhazzard until Cosmo Canyon... I suppose you could have Climhazzard, if you trained for about the entire game :cross: ... Actually, I dont remember if I had Cross-slash or Blade Beam at that part of the game... It was one of the two. I certainly didn't have Climhazzard. And about the truck, they had motorcycles, airplanes, airships, and trains in FF7. Maybe they had trucks too. I wish I knew who drove the one truck though... Maybe Shera had a bit too much tea or something... lol...

Gaming triple triad the card game from final fanasty 8
mystfalcon25 replied to gouf's topic in Noosphere
Thanks JCBaggee, you're a great help... But sometimes it's hard to lose a card game (lol). And what do you mean by "the right cards?" Sorry, i just have to know. -
Final Flash, Sephiroth, and NeoCactuar are right. I too have crossed the swamp w/o a chocobo. I never thought of the save/reload thing though. Saves you about a half-hour crossing w/o a chocobo than with a chocobo early on in the game (hey, when you have low-level guys, catching a chocobo that early in the game is very difficult! Of course, my guys are no longer at a low level but...). Another character who i need further revenge on... Don Corneo... Man that guy is a loser (to say the least). Of course i dont know which is worse, Don Corneo prancing around or Palmer dancing around and singing "Tra-la-la!" and firing that stupid Mako gun of his at me. I have my revenge on Palmer already (bless that truck) though. Not just the turks were hard to fight, but Rufus too. On the other hand, he spent more than half the battle laughing at me...

Gaming triple triad the card game from final fanasty 8
mystfalcon25 replied to gouf's topic in Noosphere
Hey, tell me somethin, where are all the CC group members hiding (other than Jack i found him)? And what is the Card Queen quest? I've heard of it but have no idea what it is. If you could tell me i'd appreciate it. --- By the way, in response to Asha'man: If you have ff8, there is an easy-to-read tutorial that explains all the rules i think. It's really hard to explain without pictures, check the tutorial. -
Eh, BulmaVegeta1, that was the idea.. Anyway... ff1 - Fighter, white mage, black mage, fighter ff2- no real choice ff3- Shadow, Gogo, Sabin, Edgar ff4 - see ff2 ff5 - no idea ff6 - see ff3 ff7 - Cloud (duh), Cid, (the third one is an option. if you're on any basic area, choose tifa. if you are fighting a WEAPON, choose Barret.) ff8 - squall (duh), Zell, Irvine ff9- i dont know ff10- Tidus, Wakka, Auron Here's more detail... For ff7- Cloud: No choice Cid: He's cool and strong, use him! Barret: Auto long range, a good choice. Tifa: When you have Final Heaven, good for her limit breaks. Red XIII: A good fighter, but i never liked him much. Use barret instead. Yuffie: Strong, if you want to then use her instead of Barret. Vincent: Strong, but his Limit break is questionable. You cant control him during it and that's a bad thing. Cait sith: ONLY USE HIM FOR COMIC RELIEF! I never found him useful etal. for FF10- Tidus: Good for his speed attacks and speed-related magic. A good fighter to have. Auron: Good for Piercing and his physical attacks. Good unless attacking a flying enemy Wakka: Virtually never misses unless blinded. Must-have. Lulu: Only good for black magic. use only if there are elemental weaknesses to be had. Kimahri: Only good for overdrives, not very strong. Put in the back of your group. Rikku: Underwater, no choice, otherwise an ok fighter. Yuna: A good healer, and summoning is useful. Use her healing whenever necessary and her Aeons when you're in a tight spot. for ff8- Squall- no real choice Rinoa- i never liked how random her limit break is, but all in all she's ok. Zell- Useful. If you get fast and very skilled, his limit break becomes very formidable. Irvine- Useful as well. If you have destruction ammo or fast ammo, you can take down a big enemy fast. Quistis- Not useful at all except for her limit break (kinda like Kimahri from ff10). Selphie- Useful in most battles mostly because of her limit break. She can cast virtually any magic spell she wants, and if you are low on health you can FullCure your party. for ff1- Black belt- im sorry but i never got far enough in the game to see the relevance of this guy. If anyone knows what his usefulness is, could you tell me? Fighter- very useful. A must-have. White mage- good when paired with black mage. Useful for healing magic. Black mage- good when paired with white mage. useful for attack magic. Red mage- can cast both white and black magic. Useful, to a degree. If you want you can use two red mages instead of a black mage and white mage, but only because of his versatility Thief- Never was able to find the relevance of the thief. I never got far enough to find out why the heck he's so useful. Again, if anyone knows, tell me. Yeah, that should do it.

Gaming Aries FF7 WARNING SPOILER AHEAD, WARNING, SPOILER AHEAD
mystfalcon25 replied to Tigervx's topic in Noosphere
Eh, correct me if i'm wrong, but Cloud was the main character... I think you meant to say one of the more major characters. Yeah, Aeris kinda had to die to move along the story and whatnot. I didn't shed any tears but i was a bit stunned the first time i saw it. The first time i saw it (Aeris dying and all), i was a bit pissed at Sephiroth :flaming:... But how can you not be mad when your healer just got killed off? Of all the characters who could've died, she made the most sense. I really can't say anything that Crazy White Boy hasn't already said. The FMV with Aeris and Zack would be ok i guess, compared to the FMV at the very end about the aftermath... I think that it conveys its point but is kinda a waste. -
ff7 is without question the best ff game they made. Oh, correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't squall a non-playable character in ff6? (if you think im wrong, go to this site: http://www.rpgicons.com/ff6squall.html it says he's from the FFA rerelease though) anyway... ff7 is the best game, to me. Personally, i think that it has the best music. I also like the story, and the characters, and the chocobos, and WHAT DON'T I LIKE ABOUT IT?! the game is a classic that will never be forgotten in the hearts of gamers. I AGREE WITH FINAL FLASH ON THIS SUBJECT. And kuja, it isn't violence that solely attracts gamers to the villains, Sephiroth is my second-favorite character in ff7 after cid, and it isn't just because he was the bad and violent take-over-the-world kinda guy. He was cool while he was still sane. Then after that he got kinda weird, but none are as odd as Kefka... :cross: Cid, Biggs, Wedge, Moogles, and Chocobos are like icons to the FF series (seeing as in every ff 2 and after they're featured, to my knowledge). It's cool how they're featured countless times in the series. Final Fantasy... a name that often suggests old-time scenarios and ancient warriors... ff7 and ff8 are good breaks from that. And that's all...

one of the advantages to keeping the original Aurochs is that they are the cheapest characters to play Blitzball with. I mean, Jassu (or someone like that) costs 10 gil per game, and it costs less to hire him for 99 games than to hire a certain guado for 1. If you can put up with the original Aurochs, be sure to, because they are extremely inexpensive. I only say this because i lost a really good player because i didn't have the money to keep him, and the Goers hired him :flaming:. Of course, now i can live without him (of course, when you have a level 50 tidus, you can live without most of your team :toothy: ) And if you want to learn certain Key techniques that you can techcopy, find a team that knows the move and play them in countless exhibitions until you learn it. That's about all.

geez, am i the only person who thinks Tenchi should end up with Ayeka? Here's reasons why not with anyone else. Ryoko: Too hyper Sasami: Too young Kiyone: Stuck hanging around with Mihoshi Mihoshi: Too stupid Washu: Sorry, but Washu doesn't seem interested at all in Tenchi. But Ayeka's a pain a lot too, her comeback to almost everything is, "I happen to be the crown princess of Jurai and I will not tolerate this injustice towards the Royal family!" As most predict, it comes down between Ryoko and Ayeka. But Ryoko is... too hyper, and a really short fuse. I mean, if Ryoko thought that Tenchi did something wrong, he'd be a crater. That's just the kind of person Ryoko is, the whole space pirate thing. But that's my opinion.

Yeah, it is a good point that if everyone had the same strength, what would be unique about each character? Well, if Kimahri and Rikku were as strong as my Wakka was now, i'd be able to alternate my battle lineup. I mean, (odd as it sounds) Wakka is my strongest character :freak:, and my main lineup consists of Wakka, Tidus, and Auron, while Yuna, her Aeons, and the rest of the team members gather dust and spiderwebs from not enough use. If my party members were stronger, I'd be able to use them more often :D. Which is why a few Friend spheres is gonna come in handy once Tidus gets to the beginning of auron's path:toothy:... i've always found it annoying when Auron tries to slash a flying beast and he misses it :flaming:. Won't it be handy when Auron sees a flying-type monster that he can just cast Firaga or something and kill it? Personally, I find Auron powerful and extremely slow, and magic for him would help a great deal. What I'm saying is, if your characters were a little more alike, they'd be able to be used more, they'd be more equal.

Anime What is your Fav. quote from any Tenchi Series
mystfalcon25 replied to a topic in Otaku Central
Here's mine. it's in my signature too, you can't miss it. "From this day forward, stand firm and face your destiny without fear, but with courage." - Yosho I think it's cool. -
Very cool text thing that you wrote, Sephiroth. You should take up writing fanfics, you know? It's funny, a lot of the characters in games after ff8 seem to look like the characters from ff8; yuna and garnet kinda look like rinoa. Tidus with wet hair looks like Squall. Correct me if I'm wrong. Sorry, I wasn't trying to change the subject. :whoops: Great work, Sephiroth, keep it up.
-
I like them both, but i like how you can customize the stats of everybody, and if you have the free time, you can make everyone, even your healer, fight like a pro. And everyone learns the same things. Well, you have to have the required spheres, but eventually you have a surplus of them anyway and you boost your Aeons with them. Anyway, i like them both a lot, but because i can make Yuna as strong as tidus is now :toothy:, im saying the Sphere grid. Actually, that's the only reason i like the sphere grid more. If you didn't have so much freedom, i'd pick the EXP for it's quickness and ease to use. But when yuna pokes a Behemoth a few times and it dies (without deathtouch), well, i'll be grateful.
-
Hey, i have a question for all you FF Fans. Which do you like better? The Sphere grid system in ff10, or the EXP system in ff7 and all the others? Please respond!!!
-
if you didn't guess from my thread (which i made on accident, it was supposed to be a reply to this but i was stupid), i think that ff7 is cool. It's the best FF made.
-
Tidus does look a bit like squall though. but a girl? I've never heard that.
-
Isn't it weird how Final fantasy makers always make a boss or monster that's always harder than the final boss? But, if the final boss were as hard as the extra monsters, only hardcore gamers would ever be ble to beat the games. Am i right?

Gaming triple triad the card game from final fanasty 8
mystfalcon25 replied to gouf's topic in Noosphere
you know i never thought of the guy at Balamb, thanks for the tip, i always went to the Card Queen. If you play her, the rules alway change there, at least for me :) -
Hey, really, i like most Final fantasy games, the ones i've played at least, and I have been through at least disc 1 of FF8. I've never played much of 9, i've played all but 9 to be exact. 7 still stands as my favorite, followed by 10 and 8. I suppose that the characters in 7 are the coolest of all of them, i mean how can you not love a mercenary with a huge sword or a terrorist leader with an attitude problem or a pilot with a smoke, a spear, and a dream. Not just those three, but there's the ninja, the two experiments, the bar owner, and who could forget the stuffed animal? Not to mention all the bad guys. I think that FF7 is the best Final Fantasy. Of course, it's also the only one i've ever finished other than 3 and 10, but you dont have to finish a game to get the story, just get really far. And that's about it. By the way, lighten up Kuja, ff7 is the favorite of many, and it set the bar high for other Final Fantasies to match up to. It set the standard for other Final Fantasies to hit. Some have.

one of the best things to do (as been said countlesss times) is to level up your guys. one of my favorite things to do is to break one defender at a time, like i pass it to tidus and there are, say three guys on the way to the goal, k? i move in to one of them, break them, and move on to the next one. Tidus should have a high endurance, so breaking one guy at a time should be no problem. Jecht and Sphere shots are my best friends in the game. even though my tidus is level 50 and he could normal shot past any goalie. especially Jecht shot. the thing to remember about JEcht shot is it knocks off the two players on the bottom of the defender list. Example: (list) Tidus Bickson Abus Balgerda (end list) The Jecht shot would take out Balgerda and Abus. Bickson isn't anything to worry about most of the time, so if you broke to him and used the Jecht shot fairly close to the goal, it's in. oh, two more things. Spin ball helps every now and then. Finally, if you are in desperate need of getting past the goalie, use a nap shot (preferably napshot2 or napshot3) and make him doze off. a sphere shot from the half point will make it in, with SH to spare. well, that's about it, hope this helps. -Mystfalcon25

why did he pick yuna? i mean, geez, he must've been hit in the head with one too many blitzballs or somethin cuz man! Rikku is, yes, the better one to choose. I completely agree. And, by the way, an FF fan can disagree with the way that the story is and still be a fan, you know. Some people....

:toothy: :toothy: :toothy: :toothy: Dude, FF7 is by far the best of the FF's that they've come up with, ya? If only it came out at a later date, when the power of the ps2 could've been used. Not that it needed the ps2 though, its still an awesome game. But if it has voice acting like ff10, wow, the game would have a lot of beeps or an M rating (blame barret and cid) CID ROCKS! -Mystfalcon25
