The picture is too pixely, as stated, and the backround is really just black. What did you make it with?

The image looks smoother, but it's still too empty for my taste. =\

Yes the picture itself looks better but the banner is too empty. Maybe make it smaller. One picture in that large a space doesn't look right.

Hmmm, it's far too plain. Try adding text in the empty space, add some stupid stuff, like little boxes, and borders and maybe even try a gradient in the background instead of a solid colour. I hope that helps.
