Ryu sat on a tree stump on the edge of some forest, warning merchants and travellers of monsters and bandits that lived in the forest. He also told some of them that he would protect them, for a price. No one paid much attention to Ryu, thinking he would probaly rob them once they got in the forest. But Ryu would never do that, unless he was paid. After being ignored by almost everyone, Ryu was about to leave when a short old merchant walked up to him asking about protection. After getting paid, Ryu led the way into the forest. After walking for around an hour, Ryu heard a noise behind them and turned in time to catch the arrow shot at the merchant's back. Before the merchant could register what was happening, he was surounded by thieves with an assortment of weapons. Ryu let out a laugh as the theives charged him. When th first thief reached Ryu, he already had his sword out and gave a quick slash and killed the first attacker to reach him. Ryu dropped his sword and pulled out his daggers and rushed the thieves. After a couple quick slashes Ryu had killed most of the thieves. The living thieves started to run when they relized what had just happened, but Ryu cut them down before they got far. After the merchant thanked him hundreds of times they finaly reached there destination: Morixia.

Borin, Borin, Borin!

And boy was it borin', (sorry for the sorry pun). La'Crosse was at her small outdoor shop, as usual, selling many supplies to her own kind. Mostly the only type present in the region about this time. She Waited most of the day and hoped that word of great news or something would come along. But it never did.

For over 10 years she trained and waited. Hoping that one day she would be accepted to figth or even just come as an errand runner for her people. But she never was chosen. Since she had been a young Centaur, she fought along side her brothers, gaining skill not only in making her healing herbs but also as a archer. She loved her bow and her medicines and never wanted to do anything else with her life.

At the age of 25, she stood over 7 feet tall. Her hair was black and her skin tan. Her coat was a brillant reddish brown color. She was definetly one of the better looking centaur women, but that must have been her downfall. Although she prouded herself as a warrior, the others around her saw her as too dainty and never took her skills seriously.

Many a times had she been approached by a suitor and each time they were turned away. She wanted to go out on an Adventure, like the other women in her family before settling down.

As she put her supplies on her cart and closed the store down, she decided to start her adventure as soon as possible. Her store had been slowing down in sells and she knew it would be the best time to go.

Now she just has to tell her parents!

Kilani stood outside of large tree house. She looked around for the others who went out on scouting. She looked to the sky to see her hawk, Veritas, flying around looking for them as well. She looked to the horizon and could see the elves coming back. She leaped from where she stood to the gates to the house. She greeted them and led them inside.

As they went in, a large grey wolf and a black panther came behind the line. She looked out to see if any were out there and none were behind. She went in as well and the gates closed.

Kilani leaped up the large tree trunk and the plank and got on. She looked down to see the wolf and panther right behind her. She looked down to the elves and went to the house. She looked around and went to the Queen.

Once she reached where the queen was, she bowed to her to her and had briefed her on everything.

"The others are back, mi'lady. Should I escort you to the banqueting table or will you be alright?"
"No. It will be fine, Kilani. But, thank you." The Queen had replied.

Kilani bowed and was about to leave when she heard her name be called by the queen.

"Kilani? Before you leave, I want to know, do you know why you were saved?" The Queen had asked.

Skyclad swooped down on the thugs.
In less than a few seconds, they were all on the ground, crying for mercy. Skyclad just glared at them with his deep, glowing silver eyes. How dare they? How dare they attack these poor defenceless Aven children? They were no older than 30 for pity's sake!
In one fell swoop, the thugs were all dead. Skyclad showed not a drop of mercy for the bandits.
"Sir? How may we EVER repay you?" one of the Avens asked.
"Just learn to defend yourselves kids. Next time, you'll have to pay me to get rid of them." was the harsh reply.

Skyclad took off.
hmph he thought to himself, I didn't even need to draw my weapons for that one. AND I didn't get payed. What, under Calamar's name, is happening to the world?

He landed outside the main city of Calamar.

Raven looked out over the gait of Calamar, Skyclad had just landed out side the wall, since there was no gait. Calamar was the strongest city on Madrin because of the fact that it's people didn't need to use a gait. Skyclad had landed out side the main city, protected by a small wall itself, the outer city had but one gait, for any land travalers who wished to speak with the Grand Lord Manthalis. "Skyclad, how are you today?"

'Hmph' grunted Skyclad, in reply to Raven 'Some kids were attacked by thugs. Couldn't protect a bone in their own bodies. I got rid of the thugs for them, but they didn't pay me. Pfft. Little runts. Never want any of my own. That's for sure.'
Raven looked as though he could hit Skyclad across the face, so he stopped complaining.
'Why have I been brought here anyway? I have picked up whispers of war on the wind. Am I to fight for the Motherland?'

"Manthalis has spoken of war, yes, but I know only little. If it comes to war, you know every one is to fight for the mother land."
Raven looked to the north east, the land of Morixia. "The humans are forgeting there place. Morixia is starting to throw wait it dose not have. And the orcs have built up quite an army since there last war." Raven looked back to Skyclad, "The whispers you hear are true. The world is on the brink of war Skyclad, a war that will change this land."

'Hmm...' Skyclad thought aloud
'What?'
'Well, the last time the lands went to war, so many Avens died. I don't want to risk it again. I think I should go and see the Grand Lord. I must tell him to send only the strongest to fight, and to get our mages and healers to stay and cast protective barriers around the city to keep our people safe.'
Skyclad lept off the ground and flew at top speed towards the city center before Raven could say anything to take his mind off what he was about to ask.

Sar'ia entered her family's house and set up for dinner before either of her parents got home for the evening. Luckily she knew their favorite dinner and made sure to prepare it just right so that she may et on their good side.

As the fire burned slowly and the stew boiled down she looked outside their window looking at the horizon. She couldn't wait to see what was out there. What adventures lay in store for her. But she had to getr outside the borders of her country first, which was not as easy as it seemed. Being a female centuar and going unattended was asking to be hurt but she knew of many people along the way who would help her out if needed as well.. She knew to caryy nothig of any value with her. But she did pack up a few potions in a sling and made her weapons ready for the trip.

Her dad was the sirst to come home followed by her mom. They both greeted her warmly and commented at the delicious smells roaming around the house. Soon they were joined by her youngest brother. She loved being around him and it showed when they picked on each other.

Sartha: So you call yourself cooking again huh...I better make sure you didnt add one of your potions in order to kill us.

Sar'ia popped him on the head. And whined to their mother.

Mom: Now you two quit.

Sar'ia: Well you know how I take offense to that. Besided he knows that if I really wanted him dead.... It would ave been so many years ago.

Both of her parents gave an awkard look to her but she smiled and shrugged the comment off.

Sar'ia: Well are we going to eat soon. I can't wait to tell you of my day.

The four of them sat down to eat and while she spoke of her day Sar'ia blurted in about how she wished to leave the village for a while in order to travel.

Sartha: Cool sis, can I join ya'.

Mom: Absolutely not, you are both too young to go anywhere.

Dad: Now dear, Sar'ia is grown and has yet to marry besides seeing Borin may help bring a mate to her. She may finally settle down with someone after seeing that there is nothing else for her to do.

Her mom still interjected and she agreed with everything her father said. Not telling them that whe wished to go beyond Borin's borders. She knew that it was better off not being said but just being done.

Soon her mom agreed to let her go and she explained how long she wished to be gone, garunting that she wil visit from time to time.

After dinner she cleaned and finished packing. Tomorrow her journey began.

Tora turned a corner- THUD! She ran straight into Skyclad, and the two fell back. "Ow... Oh! Sorry, Skyclad!" She helped him up, but he pushed her away, grumbling. "Hey, chill, Sky! Im sorry, okay?" She crossed her arms, and bound Skyclads wings with magic, axcesable(sp) only by healers, stopping him from going anywhere. "What the hell were you going at that speed for, anyway?" She heard him mumble, 'Damn healers and thier spells...'

'Damn healers and their spells' Skyclad mumbled.
Tora had his wings bound with magic. Stopping him from moving anywhere. That was a real embarrassment for an Aven.
'Look, I need to get to the Grand Lord and explain to him what we must do. If we are to go to war, he should send only his best fighters. The citizens should be kept in the city and all healers should conjure up a protective barrier to prevent harm. Let me go NOW healer,' snapped Skyclad
'Jeez! Just wondering! It's a safety hazard to be flying so fast anyway. You could have killed me. Or anyone else for that matter!' came here just as poisonous reply.
'Fine'
'Fine'
She released him and he sped off at top speed again. He thought he heard her calling out for him to slow down, but he was already too far away to hear her.

The night was long and drawn out for Sar'ia. But she just couldn't sleep. She was too excited about tomorrow and didn't want to leave any supplies behind and stayed looking around for more to pack. Luckily she went back through her bags and disposed of useless items and only needed to carry two bags worth of supplies. After rechecking everything she also got a little bit of food and money ready. The lttle stash of money she had hid was right on time and she was more than ready to use it. Finally looking outside she saw the moon high up and the stars shining thourgh clearly.

Sar'ia: Only a few more hours and I'll be off.

She then stepped back into her home and fell off to sleep!

"No, not yet." Raven looked out over the horizon, "But there will be."

Suddenly he saw three avens fling fast towards the city. "Raven! The humans have begun there assault on Dunora! They march quickly, but the orcs will put up a stuborn deffence."
"As they always do." Raven said, "Sir, there is also another force moving around Dunoral, humans and Centuars, they come to attack Our nation!"

Raven's eyes widened, "They dare attack two fronts at once!?" The aven nodded, "The force is large, larger that the one they attacked Dunoral with. Sir, they march with dragons."

Raven's eyes doubled again, "Dragons!!??" Send word to every city and town in Calamar to ready themselves. By my order, empty the towns and garison them in the cities and fortresses! You." Raven pointed at the third aven, "Send word to the troops in the south to fly to the northern front with all hast, we must fortifiy that boarder befor the humans can lay seige!"

Raven then jumped off the wall and flew strait for the HighLords tower....

Skyclad flew faster and faster until he reached the Grand Lord's tower.
By then, there were aven messengers everywhere, calling out the news of the army with dragons.
Shit...dragons.....fuc-- but his thoughts were cut off by someone leaning out of a window of the tower.
'The only ones allowed to see his graciousness are his advisors or army generals! The rest of you can piss off and give us some peace!!'
Skyclad pushed through to the door at the foot of the tower, all others pushing past him the opposite way.
When he arrived in the massive hallway, the guards asked his business.
'I am Skyclad. I am his highness' personal bounty hunter, and I was once one of his highest ranked Skywing Generals. I have come to advise his majesty of some tactics that I think he may agree with,' announced Skyclad.
The guards hung their mouths open in shock. Skyclad was fairly well know for his extreme, yet effective tactics.
'Y-y-yes-s-sir..' one of the guards managed to stammer and slur his words.
Wow...you are so utterly talented when it comes to speech thought Skyclad as he brushed past the guards.

Raven hadn't been waiting with the others, indeed, he had just gone through the window enterance of the High Lords chamber, "High Lord, I have come with grave news, the humans from Morixia have not only gone to war on the orcs, but they also attack us, they have found some way to tame the dragons of the north, or force them into submistion, one or the other..."

The High Lord looked at him, "Morixia has always held honor high in they minds, why would they asault us, or the orcs with such little warning?" Raven pondered this for a moment, "I, I do not know. Perhaps lies have spread-" "No, That is not it, for all the countries are at ends with each other, and for no aparent reason at that. There is some evil at work here, some power behind this. But I fear it will not show it self untill our doom is near."

Raven looked out into the sky, "Do you think it's the gods? Maby one of the dark gods has laid out a plan for our distruction?"

"Perhaps, But it is to soon to tell, and even if we knew that was true, far to early to know which. The dark gods do not work well together, they all have there own plans. That is what caused there down fall at the end of the reign of Dark lord Talanas. "

Just then Skyclad walked into the chamber, followed by two generals and three of the High Lords advisors...

OCC: My turn!!!

IC:
Skyclad swept dramatically through the doors to the High Lord's chamber.
'High Lord, as you have no doubt been notified, the humans are planning an attack on our great Empire,' Skyclad was not afraid to say "our empire" instead of "your empire". He and his ancestors were one of the reasons that the Avens had such a large territory in the first place.
'Yes, yes. Go on...' the High Lord drearily allowed Skyclad to continue. He'd been hearing people's opinions all morning, and had had enough of it.
'As you know from the Great Wars of the past, although we may have won our wars, our people have had great losses when it comes down to it. To prevent any further great losses, I suggest we send only our most elite forces and solitary fighters to war. The rest of our soldiers should be able to keep the city itself safe, with the addition of all our best healers and mages creating a protective dome around the city. All who live on the outskirts must be moved into the capital immediately, and their homes made into small forts that could be use strategically in the main force's plans,' he finished triumphantly.
The High Lord, and all in the room, just stared blankly at Skyclad.
'In Lamen's (sp?) terms, shove all unneccessary people in the city, and send our best to fight. Our healers make a big protective bubble around the city,' Skyclad sighed once he had finished.
Why am I surrounded by idiots?! he thought as he looked around the room. The only one who seemed to understand one bit of it was Raven. Yet that was expected. He was, afterall, one of the fastest, highest ranked of the Aven race. Not many had bested him in a one on one fight. Skyclad had only managed to make it a draw in their match.
Never again... he thought.

She was finally off. Through the streets of her town she wnet. her small cart behind her. Mostly it was filled with food and a few of her potions, but it was definetly enough for her to get started. The nearest town was about 4 hours away, soshe decided not to rush. She moved only slowly at first, but the farther aay from town she got the more she wanted to keep going.

It was about noon when she reached the closest town. Many of her kind were now standing outside. Shopping and such. The road she came down had no parresbyers so her day went by quietly.

She came to a stand where an older centaur stood.

Old lady: How may I help you?

Sar'ia: Hello, yes, Um I was wondering is there a place for me to get a good meal from. Or should I say a place that I mat rest for a moment.

Old lady: Yes dear, go to the end of thie road and you'll find a man there , he sells the best food and I think he may have a few rooms available for you to rest.

Sar'ia: Thank you!

Sar'ia turned from the lady and went down to the small road. She found a lagre home there, some what like an inn. She stepped inside and hoped her questions could be answered.

IC: Raven wonderd for a moment, he understood Skyclad's plan perfictly, but he was worried...

"Your plan will work, for a time. But there is more to this attack then your or eye can see." Raven thought for a moment, tapping into his wizard side rather than his warior side, "We must be carefull if we use this plan, for even the best warior can not stand agains a massive army alone. We must procced with hast, but not recklessnes..."

'Believe me here Raven,' Skyclad began, 'This plan WILL work, no matter how reckless it may be. It will not cost us as many lives as anyone would expect. Already the Skywing Strike Force is being readied.'
'Hmm...' the High Lord thought for a moment. 'Well, the Skywings aren't all that shall be going to war then I hope?'
'Certainly not, your highness! Every bounty hunter has been called to meet at the infirmary in about three hours. Your Royal Army shall be there too. I have sent messengers to the temple to notify them about a "call to arms". They will send all the templars and paladins available. I have also been informed that it should take around 72 hours for the enemy army to reach the first outskirts of our land.'
The High Lord thought about it for a moment. Skyclad looked around the room, awaiting his desicion. They had precious little time before the humans struck the first blow, and his people needed to be moved into the city immetiately.

IC: Raven nodded. "A sizable force. We my yet stop this army...This one."

After a moment he nodded again. "My warriors will stay behind, my highest wizards will be acompianing me when we fly. Skyclad, I leave control of this assault to you. I will not be around much. I will know if you need help." Raven called a hawk from the sky, wisperd in its ear, and then sent it flying off again. "I will return when I can." He said, then flew out the window and headed east...
