Gaming Poll: What do you think of the X-Box???
BigCajones replied to BigCajones's topic in Noosphere
The more I think about it I don't think X-Box Live is going to be a great success well not the key player in 'saving' the X-Box. It sounds a bit of a failure, but I'm not sure how it will compare to the PS2's and Gamecube's online system. It may do better, not sure, but I myself don't have broadband which is a bit of a shame. I don't get how the yearly fee works or the subscription, but hey I won't be getting it for a while anyway. Although I find Halo may have been a big factor in boosting the X-Box I find it highly overated. I'm sure Halo 2 will be a big hit though as well. The sales did beat Gamecube yes, but I'm expecting both consoles to do better this year in the sales. Who here on OB finds the X-Box a bad console (please state reasons!)? -
LOL yeah you sure are crazy! I'm not very knowledgable about Ohio, but I'm pretty sure it must be warmer than miserable England. It's kind of boring here especially where I live! Not much attractions, expensive shops and well we get everything later than countries such as America. Sure it's alot better to some places so I shouldn't really complain. You may want to have a quick peek at London and then go home lol, living here is not such a great idea and there are alot of idiots around here, but I suppose cold temperatures, boredom, and being surrounded by stupid hard people is some people's ideal home. :angel: A week here would do you fine SaiyanPrincessX, but saying all this I don't think I could move to America, because I would miss my friends too much. Get me out of here! :help:

LOL sounds fun! I want to do something exciting like that when I go on holiday. I'm sure I will swim and attempt to surf in the sea at one point! The whole being chased by a crocodile I may try to avoid and I've touched a sting ray they feel weird. So does anyone live in California or Las Vegas? I suppose places are great when people visit them as a vacation, but if someone said they were coming to England for their vacation I would slap them hard asking them constantly are they crazy, but I suppose that's just me ^_^ I'm not sure if people who live in either California or Las Vegas feel the same way as I do about people visiting England, but I'm very excited! :excited:

Wasn't Boshi like a Yoshi in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars? I watched my cousin like defeat him in a race about 6 odd years ago lol ... it's funny what I choose to remember and important things tend to go in one ear and exit the other. :whoops: Question: Can you name every console made by Nintendo? Hence EVERY! :)

I think the X-Box is finally getting to a point where it's proving people wrong about how good the console is and the abilities of the console itself. Here is a few departments where I think the X-Box beats other consoles: -Graphics (250MHZ NV2A) -Memory/Storage (64 Megabytes of RAM/8GB) -Power (733MHZ) -Audio (Dolby Digital 5.1) -Online gaming (X-Box Live) Also other little things like DVD which is good, no need for memory card and you can play a CD on your X-Box while playing on some games. All these new games that are coming out look great too, most I saw pictures from the X02 showings. Has anyone changed there mind about the console? PS2 is definetely the best in terms of sales, but it has been out alot longer and has developed a vast variety of games. I think in 2003 there will be a change in terms of the 'best', but we can discuss that later on through out the year at the moment I just want your opinion on the X-Box. Feel free to criticise! :box:

Okay well I put a question- What Pokemon can't you get on Pokemon Red (ones that you have to trade for)?
-
Hmm my favourite would have to be Wolverine simply for his bad attitude. When I used to watch the series I thought that was cool although Gambit always played the part of a cool and calm guy. I haven't really seen any of these new episodes, well not enough to distinctively remember someone. The characters sounds good though, but usually I prefer the original show to the new ones to be honest. I don't really like Wolverines claws, they are wicked, but probably not the most effective of the weapons (mutant powers) it's just the anger inside of him I admire! :) Didn't think much of the first X-Men movie, but I will sure see the second one for good old times. :demon: Oh and I want Beast's brain power ^_^;;

Ahh lucky I have this game otherwise this would of been a real toughie. I believe it was James Bond 007: The World Is Not Enough. I think I'm correct unless your thinking of a different game? Well in Super Smash Bros: Melee name the ways you can unlock Mewtwo!

Gaming What X-Box game are you anticipating for the most in 2003 and why?
BigCajones replied to BigCajones's topic in Noosphere
Well from what I've heard BC is a third-person action-puzzle adventure. It seems a bit of a strategy to me as well as you are put in charge of a tribe human beings on an epic journey across an ancient prehistoric land. As the game begins your tribe is very stupid; they don't know where the next meal is coming from and it's your job to teach them the basic skills that will give the whole tribe a better chance of survival. I think this sounds rather fun now I hear more about it. Members with nothing to do will gather around the campfire and try to speak to each other. This becomes an important factor later on as they'll need to say things like "big dinosaur come" to warn of an attack. You're the person who realises that a stick on the floor can be used as a weapon. You're the spark of intelligent life. You're mad if you don't keep BC on your radar! I would like to know what happens when you battle a dinosaur hmm? I'm not sure on how the levels will be set out but I suppose you just walk around to find where your destined to go. Maybe there are objectives to tell you what to do? The only objectives I've heard are teaching your tribe to create fire, catch food, watch out for dangers, talk and generally live a civilised life. :freak: Some people could no doubt learn from this game! -
Oh yeah sorry, thanks for correcting me there. Phantom is too advanced for this year ... Maybe three. A console that teaches kids maybe a good idea, but kids may not enjoy it really. IT maybe pricey too as you said. Yeah as I said the playboy game is going to multi-formatted so heading on Gamecube, PS2 and X-Box at least. More one what next news is- someone tying there best mate up with a vacuum and stabbing him 60 odd times over a computer game (hmm talk about bad loser). Headlines- Shock! Videogames make you violent (heads torn off, children think it's 'cool') , New word coined for game-related injury (games cause hand pains), Videogames cause epilepsy (only makes it worse to people who have it), Videogames can cure ADD (helps sufferers pay attention more), Videogames are 'lowbrow' (starving 'real' artists scoff at games), Videogames make you more intelligent (enough said), and finally Gaming kills you (someone playing non-stop for 86 hours and someone for 32 hours died, also someone else shot themselves over the online game Everquest). Thought I would tell you some headlines I've found as a good what next presentation! Interesting hey? :demon:

This is a magasine information I'm afraid and Gates later said that he was just showing this as an example of what he can do. So he said Microsoft are not involved in handheld development. I'm not sure why he said this if he can and has the money it would be a great idea. As other companies are creating handheld consoles I don't think he will scrap this idea, but you will hear more about it probably later on as this is going to take 3 years said my Gates himself. He said all this at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas and definetely has something up his sleeve or he wouldn't of mentioned creating it in the first place. I know he has allowed GBA have mini X-Box games until 2004 sometime. Maybe what he ment is that he hasn't started developing it as yet, but you will find more information later on this year I presume and then I will post it when I hear. :)

Well it's a seat with a wheel and pedals attached to it, the first one for the X-Box. I was asking what is the name of it. If you don't want that question then in Silent Hill 2 how does
Maria Die?
Include where and who by!
-
Heh I see what you mean, but I know you had a N64 and it can be about that all other Nintendo consoles as well as the Game Boys. Oh and you are correct! Well as for a question- What is the shark boss called on Resident Evil? :whoops:

As my console quiz is now just a Playstation quiz like it originally was, I've decided to test everyones knowledge on Nintendo consoles and games. Same as every quiz- when you answer a question, you ask a question! Simple hey? If there is a really stumbling question I may ask another (after a period of time) to keep the quiz going, but still keep guessing on the other question. If you are not sure 100% sure that your answer is correct then guess and wait until someone classifies if your correct or not! Then keep it flowing by asking a question, feel free to ask a question if someone decides not to put a question (when they have answered correctly that is). :) I'll start us off- What's the final boss on Luigi's Mansion? (spoiler tags may be needed)

Guys that don't want to be friends with girls??? Ignorance, if it's online as well I mean it can't be for image, because no one else would know about it. I try to be friends with all girls that are nice to me older or younger, but it's stupid not to friends with someone of an opposite sex. Maybe they are the type of boys that think of girls only for one thing in life, so it could of been for the best they didn't want to be friends with you. Heh I'm sure no one on the boards would care what sex you are if you want some more online buddies! ^_^;

Well the cast includes Chop & Styx, the lone samurai with a kid strapped to his back; Ninja Fu Hiya, the ninja who tries too hard; Candi Roll, who?s done her fair share of fighting on the casting couch; and Xui Tan Sour, avenger of her father, brother, village and pet goldfish. I think that's it? Anyway- What is the first ever X-Box racing chair that has been developed? EDIT: Alexus_Bing answer- well I've seen a few, but I think the one your looking for is Shrek Super Party. Now answer my question if I'm correct.

This sounds a better game with mini-games, because I'm pretty sure the lifespan of the game wouldn't last long with simply just volleyball! Just incase you board members who have this game don't know there is an official website now where you can find media, downloads and information about the game and the girls here! :)

Ermm... I would answer, but I haven't even heard of this game :bluesweat: Does anyone know what this is and if so could they inform me please! :help: If no one knows would you mind changing your question? :)

Gaming What X-Box game are you anticipating for the most in 2003 and why?
BigCajones replied to BigCajones's topic in Noosphere
Well some news I have heard is that the multi-million selling PC game The Sims will soon be bringing its life-simulation action to the X-Box, so all you people who may not have a PS2 or would prefer The Sims on the X-Box for whatever reason here's your chance. The Sims didn't really do anything for me, but it seems an extremely addictive game and I'm pretty sure I would play this more on a console. If they make this for X-Box Live that would be amazing as well! :D Also as well as beach volleyball on the X-Box, the first ever beach football game should be on it's way soon if that takes anyones interest. :demon: -
Yeah I understand your logic, but all this is far too advanced for me right now I'm sure it will get explained it years to come. Credit card would be very annoying for underage people, and hackers could easily destroy this system of downloading and make it a utter mockery! I'm pretty sure you still could buy the discs/cartridges (whatever it would be), but downloading is just going to be that extra show-off feature. I'm sure there will be illegal downloading sites and everythink I think the security will have to be on a mighty high! Sounds pretty cool though, I have a design stuck in my head of what it will look like, lets just hope Microsoft make several colours of this 'X boy' from the beginning. :smirk:

I think everyone here has the same opinion on chain letters and they are just a BIG annoyance! :flaming: I have millions they are just pathetic really, I don't even open an email that says Fwd: (forward) anymore. Some are funny, but I really can't be bothered with them, they are worse than superstition malarkey! It's impossible to tell everyones fate
unless someone nukes the world to total destruction
otherwise you can't tell someone is going to get bad luck from a piece of paper made extremely long to compete with other chain letters ... Sad! *deletes pointless emails* I get emails from random people I don't know so it's just plain stupid and who ever believes the chain letters and sends them are just as stupid if you ask me (no offence to anyone who does there are excuses to send them if your bored out of you mind or trying to proove a girl you love her in some chain letters! ;)). Other chain letters with attachments also could have viruses, so really they are ridiculous and an utter WASTE OF TIME! :angel: :D I hope chain letters burn in hell :devil: :demon:

Well as for Microsoft doing a handheld system, they may just be doing so, but don't get too excited it won't be out for around three years or maybe released around the same time of the X-Box 2 in 2005. Gates made an announcement on a new product called Media2go: a handheld media player with a four-inch screen and the ability to play music, movies and pictures. The player has storage for 40 gigabytes of content in the form of digital pictures, music and videos. This handheld system sounds like it's going to be called 'Xboy' and it would be foolish is Microsoft retracted on this project as they need to compete with Nintendo and Sony who are making a handheld system too. By the time 'Xboy' will be out you won't even need to buy a cart or disc anymore, you can just download games directly to your console. All games will be 3D most likely. 'Xboy' will be fully backlit, but will have to compete with the likes of Pokemon. ARGH! Could be very interesting! :demon:

Okay thanks for the information I hope they decide to bring Animal Crossing over here! I wonder how the PS2 internet service will do then? Do you have to have broadband on that as well? I would really want to play FFXI on PS2's internet that would be amazing. Talking of Final Fantasy I will also be looking to get FF: Crystal Chronicles on Gamecube and maybe GBA. Gamecube have decided to follow the ideas of going online, but they have decided wait for a bit longer (not sure if it's a good idea by Ninty especially if they see how unsuccessful the other two online systems will do probably, but I suppose they have to show off their capabilities as well). Phantasy Star Online will be awesome online as well Ahhh too much technology for this day and age! The wiring in my room will be manic if I get all this stuff... *moves on swiftly* Poor Microsoft lol not alot is going right for the chunky system so far, but I still think it's a brilliant console. Halo 2 should be head for release in December 2003 in England just for the Christmas sales (it better not get delayed or I'll be angry :mad: ). I doubt I will get Live it sounds a waste of money really ... it depends I'll see. :naughty:

A thing that annoys me on holidays is while you're away you don't know what's going on behind your back. You miss out on gossip, your partner could cheat which is spiteful behind your back and the most annoying thing at my age is relaxing having fun while getting a tan and then getting back with a humongous amount of homework and coursework to do which you may of missed out on which is a major bummer. I try my hardest to go on holiday in school holidays, but it's not always that easy, plus I enjoy a break from school as like a vacation (I suppose I can't miss out on nething as my GCSEs are coming soon :(). I will maybe be going on little side holidays in England and I'm going on a school trip with mates which will be really cool! I'm sure I will be going on holiday with friends soon, which will make my holiday even more enjoyable. :toothie: *misses sun and half naked girls* Anyone here live in/near San Diego or Las Vegas? ... Or Los Angeles as I may go there too!
