Ways To See If Your Boyfriend Is Not Straight
Rachmaninoff replied to Raiha's topic in General Discussion
Maybe he was curious? o_O I really don't know. I don't even read enough manga to know the difference between it and other ones that would be considered more for guys. I mean I liked Fruits Basket and it's considered Shojo, I think. And I am not gay. -
I was just reading this article here: Domestic abuse on rise as economy sinks According to the article, domestic abuse is increasing and they're seeing a correlation between people losing their jobs, among other things, and the trouble. I'm not sure about it, being a catalyst for an increase in abuse, mainly because I don't really follow this kind of thing. Still, if it actually is playing a part, it is kind of a scary thought that abuse has become more of a problem. So what do you think? Do you believe there is any connection or do you think they're just seeing something that isn't there? You do hear about more disturbing cases these days, but is it because they're on the rise or because they get far more publicity?

Alright, you all can blame this thread on Allamorph. =P I hadn't even noticed this paticular deal until he mentioned it. So take a look to see what it's about. Tax Tea Party Time? Apparently, according to the article, Americans think we pay too much in taxes. If the data is correct, the irony of this is that the percentage being taken has gone down over the years, not up. So what are your thoughts on this? I hadn't even heard of it and I don't feel like I'm being over taxed so I don't plan on joining those protesting.

That is just absurd. I really do hope there is more to it. That is one of the dumbest things I've read in quite a while. The whole thing just reeks of incompetence on the court's side of the matter.
Has anyone had to deal with this alleged Conficker computer worm yet? -Shy
Not myself personally, however: Article So I've had the joy of not being able to get into some areas at school and needing to wait until I get home in order to access the net at all. Oh joy.
As for being a warped kid. I was just picky. I wouldn't even drink Kool Aid[/font']
Nothing wrong with that, it's nasty stuff. =P Also, I don't remember Chuck E Cheese being all that bad, however it's been a very long time since I ever went to one so who knows if it does indeed suck now.
So now I pose the discussion. Should pictures of minors, even taken by their own volition be constituted as child pornography? Should registered sex offenders be forced to wear "scarlet letters" by having their names put on a public database? When is the earliest age that minors could/should be prosecuted for sex crimes?
The way I see it is if you're dumb enough to do it, you deserve the consequences of your actions. However, I do think the age factor should be considered and putting them on the sex offender's list should only be for those who really are 'sexting' And by that I mean it's more than just some harmless and immature stupidity on the teen's part. Some, like the guy in the article, just made a really stupid mistake. Where I'm sure there are others who really do fit the definition of an offender and do it with the intent to harm.
I'm not sure where you two are from (speaking to Rach and Sangome) but I'm assuming you know what they say about living in the midwest. (Bare with me, it's a saying from my dad so live with the old person feel) "If you don't like the weather in the midwest, go inside, wait an hour, and go back out."
I'm in Utah so the saying doesn't really work here. However, the flip from spring to cold to spring again does. It's 70 out right now and tomorrow, it's expected to be back down to 40 with rain. Anyway, this link is for Shy: Click it! :D
You aren't even joking, it's not 2AM and it is STILL snowing. Why does it always seem like Easter is the nastiest time of the year, we ought to petition to have Easter moved to mid-july/early august. Right in the middle of the 100 degree weather...
And then people will just whine about the heat. lol Ironically, we had cold rain for most of the last week, but today was fairly decent. However, another storm front is coming in so... ugh. No nice spring weather here either. Just more nasty cold rain and winds.

I don't follow anywhere near as many web comics as I should. I do enjoy reading vgcats and Cyanide & Happiness is pretty good too. The others are something that I end up reading bits of when someone links me to one they find amusing. Like that Head Trip Ace posted. That's awesome.
As for the child they bore together. THAT is wrong. It's a known fact that incestuous babies often have diseases & die at early ages. Because of that, they simply should not be allowed to have children... but I don't think their sex lives should be restricted.[/SIZE']
As much as I find the sex side of it disgusting, on that I'd have to agree. But having kids... there's a good medical reason for them to not be allowed to do it. Reading what Indi linked to just makes you want to sigh and never read news like this again. It almost makes you feel like you're looking at tabloids instead of real news... oh wait... I think we are. And yes I know it's my fault for starting the thread. *headdesk*

Having just read PJ's post... o_O I have no idea where to go with that. Other than to go... oh hell. At this rate, Felix is never going to talk to Juste again. First he lands them down a
cliff by being clumsy and then he activates that thing they found.
I should play a pirate or something else, seriously. The nice guys area forever getting themselves and others into trouble. =P

What would you tell your 10 year old self? Don't listen to your parents and go on a religious mission. You'll regret it. What would you ask your 10 year older self? Nothing, I'd rather wait and just find out what happens. =P
Oh, man, Gavin, that's some real fine craftsmanship that just got dredged up in the Theater down there. Man, I think I wrote like that when I was what, six? I'm serious. I have this little journal thing filed away so I can remember where I started. Now we can see the same of you. Except you were significantly older. And criminy, that font color! :p
Wait... wut? I removed mine to the Almagest backstage thread just to check it out. It let me turn around and resubscribe to it. o_O
They're tentatively calling it "Cullen Cancer". Best solution would be to wait it out.
I hear they found a cure already, but you never know when it will spring up again. The sparkle is just everywhere I'm afraid.
_> Alright Al, get out from wherever you're hiding in my room with your hands on your head.
*hands Gavin a shotgun* Not that it will help, he's good at being invisible.
On a related note, prolonged living on the same floor of a concentrated mass of collegiate societal rejects who have parties at two, fights at four, crap in shower stalls, and pull fire alarms in the middle of the night also tends to increase murderous desires. Shall we form a coalition?
Sounds like a good argument for living in an apartment instead. Still get the stupid ones, just in lower numbers, at least within your living space that is. =P

I actually don't have anything planned for this year. I'm sure I'll think of something tomorrow but as of this moment, no pranks on the schedule yet. I'm sure the people I know at school and my friends will do something though. They always do. =P
Please don't post stupid cat photos in this thread. There is a separate thread in this forum for that crap.
O rly? I seem to recall a certain disclaimer at the beginning.
There is no topic, so therefore this thread can never go off-topic.[/b']
It's not off topic so suck it up Shy. :p I have to say I'm in agreement with those who would never be caught wearing those shoes. Those colors together just look hideous to me. lol
Just like pizzas, many places now have premade crusts and all the employees do is smooth them out, add toppings, and put in the oven.
That's what I was just thinking, it's already automated to some extent, depending on where you go to get the pizza. Doesn't seem too much different from buying it frozen, you get what you pay for. If you just want some that's quick and easy then sure, I can see having the machine around. Otherwise, you just go to some place that does a better job of it. Like the report said, it's not the first thing to end up in vending machines so I'm sure it won't be the last. =P

Writing The Otaku Prose Contest Round 2 (Vicky VS. DeLarge)
Rachmaninoff replied to Mykul's topic in Creative Works
I think DeLarge made good use of descriptions. It was creepy but not really disturbed enough in my opinion. Vicky on the other hand kept skirting the edge of being very disturbing with the pedophile feel to how the story progressed. So my vote goes to Vicky for this round. -
Writing The Otaku Prose Contest Round 2 (Anomaly VS. Shy)
Rachmaninoff replied to Mykul's topic in Creative Works
There were things about both that I liked. Anomaly's was the look to the person they were going to be happy with, Shy's more towards the person they actually ended up with. That made it hard to choose since they both had good points. In the end, I'm going to vote for Shy. -
How are Otaku portrayed by mass media?:
You can about answer the entire survey with that. Seriously. Or just hit up the dictionary: otaku Main Entry: otaku Part of Speech: n Definition: an avid collector or enthusiast, esp. one who is obsessed anime, video games, or computer and rarely leaves home Etymology: Japanese 'house' Usage: derogatory slang

I wouldn't say it's enjoyable, but as a college student, it's quite a bit cheaper to cook instead of ordering out. Whether it's a hassle or not, just depends on what I decide to make and how long it takes. I try to stick to simple stuff, but it's worth doing a little more on the weekends. The rest of the time, quick and easy, and that includes microwavable stuff, is what I prefer.
