::: Looks at avatar ::: Maybe I should look into changing mine... IF the guy was picking people off at half a mile or greater, yeah I would respect his skill, but not him nor what he is doing. What he is doing is sick. Random people is bad enough but taking down a little boy at school... Hes not that smart a serial killer either...leaving the casings. It want be long before they know exactly what gun hes using and where he got it....then it will just be a matter of time before they find him.

This was just recently brought to my attention, and it kinda freaked me out. In short, I Navy Chopper had a laser shot at it by Russian Merchant ship that injured some of the crew, it was then covered up by the US Goverment untill just a while back. If you are interested, the article is below from the Washington Times. http://www.washtimes.com/national/20021007-7676092.htm It is really suprising that the Navy does not even support him. They even asked the guy not to wear his uniform in court. I also wish there was more info on the type of laser.

There is no sense in arguing over a difference in a opinion cause we are all entitled to our own. You may have your own views. Thats fine. I did not have as much a problem with your views as I did with your insults toward people who don't agrea with you. And yes I respected you, like I do all Moderators. But not anymore. I think we should all get back on topic. Usually you Mods close topics like this.

Im weak and a sentimental fool for feeling sorry for someone who was gundown for no apprarant reason? Damn, whats wrong with me. Thats whats wrong with our world today, no one cares anymore. If you like the guy so much, maybe he will send a bullet or two in your direction. I was appaled by the comment earlier. You say you respect him for his ability? As a sniper, hes not that great. Two people have survived from shots that where fired at less then 100 yards. IF he was a good respectable marksmen, they would be dead. Way to represent our boards Mr Moderator's. I have lost all respect for you.

No one is arguing here gokents. Were just merely discussing a topic. Being able to think does seem like it gives enough evidence to prove that oneself exists. But We still do not have a good enough answer to prove that another person exists. If Rico digs a hole,(Im not sure how Rico always ends up in the examples, but oh well)yes he has effected the earth but that doesnt prove he exists. Rico could be just a dream or something my imagination has constructed or someone else constructed in my head for that matter. Even if numerous people experience the effect of Rico it still does not prove he exists. How do we know the people who experience Rico exists? See what I am saying. It seems as though years have passed yet we are still stuck on the same problem that Descarte could never figure out. How do we prove that another person exists?
-
I guess the real question is, can we prove that we exist in the form that we percieve ourselves?
-
I agrea somewhat with what CWB said, but I disagrea with the article he mentioned. Based on that article, nothing exists to a Blind person.
-
I honestly dont know. I prefer to keep it to where I do not need to know.
-
No. Maybe we should ask Descarte if he doesn't exist now that he is dead...lol

Ill try to explain this the best I can. Your refering to things on a more physical term. I am looking at the mental conciousness of the human-being. Yes either way, Rico physicaly existist, but is Rico's concious running on its on inside his head. Is he dictating everything he does on his own with no outside interferrence? Just because I can communicate with him does not prove the previous statement. Am I really running on my own free will? Or am I being told what to think? I could exist but be undergoing an experiment by a greater being. What if we are all computers. Do we really exist in the true "real world"? Yes. We exist as computers. But not as humans. Did that clear things up any. Sometimes I do a poor job at explaining myself.

Foredaddy: Yes you are correct, the Matrix is just a movie and its not based on reality. And as I said it would, it did sound silly, but it illustrated my point quite well. I dont think its a matter of existense in general, just more of do we exist in the world we see, hear, and feel. And like I siad previously, our senses are unreliable. If you touch something that is very, very cold, it burns...however its not hot. You would think its hot, but that is not true. And ideas can not prove anything either. Rico has the same Idea as I do about we can only base our decision on the way we percieve the world but does that prove to me he exists? Not really.

Going to court is a bad choice. Court costs alone would tally up way more then $90. Its really not worth it. No offense but both of you are responsible for paying. You should have checked to see if they charged, and he accepted your offer so he accepted responsibility too. But like Rico said...stay away from stuff like that in the future. You will end up on Judge Judy.
He thinks too much, such men are dangerous
Perhaps, but I would be more afraid of the scientist who are trying to figure out how to create black holes in a labratory.:D Something about that has accident written all over it. :worried:
-
Does that really prove you exist? Our senses are unreliable. You can not prove existense based on feel, taste, ect. Yes I can touch you(well not really right now, but you get the point) but that does not prove you exist. One might think its silly. But the concept in "the Matrix" is one that illustrates my point quite well. Your brain could have been told that you were to experience pain, therfore you felt pain. That doest really prove you exist in this world.
-
Can we really prove we exist? It was Descarte who said, "I think therefore I am." This in some sense proved to him that he did, in fact, exist. However he never could prove that you or anyone else existed. So how do we know that John Doe accross the street really exists? Furthermore, on the one statement above, can one even legitimetly prove that he exists? My answer is no, We can not really prove one exists, we can only base our decision on the way we percieve the world. But you may have a different one. This is just one of the many random thoughts I have. I was just wondering what everyone thought on the subject. Dont be afraid to post what you think. But dont turn this in to a religious debate, this is just general philosophy. Everyone who thinks is a scientist.

Yeah, their new album will be out in November. When I heard their first released song off the album, "Not Falling", I about wet my pants. This song kicked my ***** and is still kicking it as we speak. I cant wait for this cd to come out. Its going to be the best yet. Now all we have to do is sit and be patient. Also, has anyone heard their very first cd? Not the album with Dig, the one before it. I heard it sucked pretty bad and wasnt worth buying.

YEah, there are some good imports. I forget the name but there was a Z gundam game for the Super Famicon I think, but it was a tactics style Gundam RPG and It was great. If you can find a copy of it and love FFT, you should definetly get it.

Thats what the reviews stressed so much about. They said you would hardly feel like you were piloting a nimble fighter. It does look pretty good. Well, Im not sure. Im either getting it or Fed vs Zeon. Guess I wil decide when I get to the store.
-
Anyone played this yet. Im trying to decide if I should get it. I have never seen Macross or Robotech. It looks good though. I have read several reviews that gave it about a 6 out of 10 and really talked bad about it. But you know how reviews are, sometime they are completely wrong. Like I said, I have never seen the series, but I am a fan of all things that involve Mechs. I would really like to know how it turned out. I hate it when I drop about 50 bucks on a game that sucks.

I like the game alot. Personally I enjoyed Zeonic Front just as much. This one though, adds space battles to the mix and fixes the control somewhat. It still has a few problems but overall its good. I just wish they would make a game now that has something more to do with the time periods after 0079 and the MSG series. A good Gundam Wing game would be fun too. Nevertheless, if your a fan of Gundam, you will enjoy this game. If you enjoyed the previous Gundam Games....youll love this one. The space battles could have been a little better though. It wouold be nice if you could have massive battles in space with maybe 60 or 70 suits and capital ships. Have the ability to land on a ship or colony and fight another suit. Just little stuff....but im picky anyway. ITs a good game. Buy it.

Thats a little disappointing. I would still like to get it for the story, but it sounds like it wont have much of a replay value. I know what you mean about finding it. Everywhere I have looked, they have not had it. I guess Ill just order it off the internet.

I was wondering if TacticsOgre (GBA) is a direct port of the PSone version. Or have they change anything? Also, just curious if they toned it down any. The one for PSone had a good amount of profainity. Did they take this out since its being released on the GBA? Thanks for anyhelp you can offer.

Who all went to see this? I have to say I was rather disappointed. Then again, after watching The Matrix, no action movie seems good. If you ask me, they ripped off the Matrix too much and did not have enough plot. Another thing was the R rating. Im not sure how it got this. The only thing I can think of was near the begining a dude gets shot in the head. Its not even violent though. Its nothing you have not seen on TV. Other then that, the S-word was said about 4 times, but thats allowed in PG-13. Thats all. A few people were shot, but you dont even see it enter their body, they do the whole scream and fall down for no apparant reason thing. That is pretty much it. Nothing anymore violent or profain then what I think it shoukld have passed with a PG-13. Dont get me wrong, its an okay movie. It was worth the 5 bucks I paid to see it. It has a couple of cool stunts, and a real cool shot of a guy falling off a building and landing on a car. Well, what are your thoughts?
-
I loved it. I got a little frustrated when I would accidentaly brake my very....very good weapon, but I liked the concept. The town building concept was nice too. I have always been a huge fan of Sim City so this was great for me. Story was kinda wacky but nevertheless it was a great game. And for around 20 bucks now, its definetly worth the money.

I still do not see what is so great that puts it above the other Gundams. To me it rips of to many other animes. For instance, todays episode looked a whole lot like DBZ. Shooting energy at each other, grappling hands, Domon going into hyper mode where he morphs just like a Saiyan. I liked the other Gundams because it seems more realistic and seems to be aimed at an older more mature audience. Does anyone agrea with me or am I all alone on this one?
