Okay so basically the US threw a party for their new president who is their very first African American president. Yes we're in a recession. (We've been in one for about eight months now) And everyone is watching thier money. So yeah, it was a big expense, but it was also a big deal

That said, once one of the other countries on this board gets their very first non white or female Prime Minister (Okay so England needs their first non white PM, but the rest of you... well you know) you all can go ahead and celebrate any way you wish.

130 tons of garbage and it's not done yet. Plastic bags were left out for refuse to be deposited but why do that when you can just toss your junk on the ground? Record crowds. Record rubbish heaps. How motivational.

1.8 million people by the way, which isn't the five million, seven million, or three million projected.

1.) That wasn't the fault of the new administration the same would have happened if McCain had won instead of Obama. What do you think happens when someone throws a party? Does the trash magically dissapear? No, you spend the next however long it takes cleaning up. And you can't blame the new administration for people being irresponsible. Trash happens. The point is that they're cleaning up.

2.) It was 2.5 million according to what one of my co-workers said. She was there Tuesday and said she'd froze her toes and it was way too crowded. To which another one of our co-workers replied: That's because you were too busy dressing cute to try and find a man. You didn't think about the weather.

Rant over, time to see what President Obama does in his first one hundred days.
