I always think of the idea of what the character is going to be like, then go from there. Of course, like I said, my talent for drawing is something to be desired, and stuff just appears on paper (poorly at that), but what are you going to do? I just keep on drawing ^_^ go me! And ya. . . I hate my scanner. It takes like three hours to scan, and then I find out that it scanned wrong. My dad's is pretty ok, and that is what I use most of the time.
