1. What a delightful topic! For this special occasion I will use punctuating and capitalization :) -They must be physicaly attractive. No specifics here, I have no real "type" of girl in mind that stands out physicaly. (Thin, Hair-not improtant, style-no imprtant, breast size (this seem to be a issue)-small/ med, not supermodel size) -Inteligent. They must be roughly arround my inteligence, and (lol) know that pain of simplisticly elegant Calculus (oh the pain of careless mistakes) -They must have interests that are simmilar to mine, or respect mine. (If they understand or are interested in science, great.) -They must be genuine. Phoneyness is not apreciated. -It would be a plus if they were athletic (or even better, played tennis, and got me off my lazy arse to play some  ) -It is a total plus if they can beat me at TFC in a first person to 200 on avanti:D :D
2. rofl if shiji ikari were a giant it might work i can not cosplay as any of my favorite characters i'd need to be 6'5'' to be a perfect vash ts and no one in Eva has blond hair (barring me using a wig but i feel those will make me look like i'm in drag :P
3. you know syk there is more to art than plot the symbolism of spike fighting himself and conquering himself just before his death is interesting he reaches the pinical of his growth as a a character with that fight he had to look himself in the face and overcome him flaws the entire series it truely about the growth of each of the characters bofa is not a bad episode but all ti has going for it is plot no greater meening too it
4. Fine, since you all insist... I dislike the stuff that is intended for kids, aka DBZ, it is...for lack of a better word, lacking, in my opinion; it's primarily a group of people beating themselves senseles to save the world "again." Ranmah...uh I've seen a few episodes...I was no impressed, it frightened me, hopefuly it is more like Yu-Yu Hakusho than DBZ. I agree that intrest in the series is great, it may make GAINAX kick Hidiek Anno into action again, to earn some hard cold American Greenbacks. (see sequle potential list above). As for more fans, that is not necessarily better, they could be very very shallow and just say -"wow, look at that blood, how awsom!!! Wha? She's naked, freeking cool! They didn't show that on CN! Shiji did what!? How did they ever get the permision of the FCC to show this?!"- Then when we reach a dream sequence it will be something like this -"Awwww, another one of these...time for the reefer..."- -Change This better everyone?
5. Ok, Low grade anime cr*p cough DBZ cough and mid level stuff Ranmah 1/2 ;) As for being inconprehensible, yeah i didn't get half of what i wrote myself, I belive in writing in "stream of consciusness" lol. Queen Asuka, this is the link for the pic http://www.inquadra.com/evangelion/images/immagini/16.jpg But thankfuly for the little kiddies and maybe some fan me and Shy have decided to make and eva web site that -----> (big quote marks) "will try to make sense of it all." The estimated release date is 2005, lol.
6. It's sad that they are running it...Just go buy the greatest anime ever, and both movies, and the japanese directors cut, and watch it 50 times like I have :0 Then devote your life tu puzzeling out the religous imagry, the Joycian quest for identity and self, the exestential philosophy, and the downright dysfunction of the whole collective human race! Ont he plus side, they ran 2 Robotec episodes. That was neto, nevermin that it was toatal out of oder (ep 1 from Macross Saga, and one from arround the end of the Invid saga). I personaly am waiting for the next Evangelion movie, me and Shy think it will either be "Fuyutski and Friends" - a while rhomp through Montrasore Fuyutski's days as a college professor... "Another Clip Show"-A clip show of End Of Evangelion with some new stuff like and Asuka dream sequence leading into "Creating a New World"- starting over square 1, literaly. OR- "A Hentai Flick"- Heideki Anno messes witht eh fans minds again and says you must be 18+ to compleet your Eva collection! They should never run "high brow anime" (bebop, trigun, eva) for the kiddies let them keep their "low brow anime" (DBZ, Sailor Moon, Ranmah 1/2), the stuff that meens nothing.
7. I would say that the threat should be determined by your personal philosophy. If you belive is conservatism, you are afraid of change, you wish to hold back society from the brink of rapid progress and slow things down. If you are a liberal, you look ahead and take the plunge, you go for the gold.
8. 1. A multifaceted personality/ multidemensional characters. 2. Compelling- having deeper ideals than surface value 3. Operate on a deeper level than making cool explosions 4. Motivated 5. Orriginality 6. Mysterious, and on the part of the writers/directors the anime cant be "telling" it must be "showing"
9. Cowboy Funk was no filler. It was symbolic for Spike facing himself.
10. People who say that Ballad of Fallen Angels is the best episode are really missing the importent exestential themes in latter episodes. The episode is to put it politly "filler." There is nothing significant to it, it is a groundwork episode where a little bit of Spike's past is reveled to set up the framework for later episodes. Yeah, it has some cool action sequences, but they hardly compare to The Real Folk Blues II, which is a much better episode. Don't get me wong, the episode is great, im just not sure if it is worth being called the greatest episode.
11. I want Vash's glasses :P They would complement my lovely blond lockes.
12. Doesn't really matter, they were going to hook up at the end anyways. I doubt a few says difference really plays a role in the cosmic sense of things.
13. What i've learned it that when Asuka says "how disgusting" to Shinji, a better translation is "this sucks." Darn translating people messed it up and made the ending way more confusing and sad than it already was.
14. What jerks they are...oh well, I have coencidently and sitting on the japanese version with the scenes, suprisingly it spruces up the serise more than it normaly is. It sorrta fills in the gaps. Plus more fan service. BTW, I noticed that Evangelion is not a big topic arround here, this semes to be the only topic. i hate to make another seperate topic since this one has already been delt with, but what did you all think of the ending of Evangelion (the movie End of Evangelion, not the series)? What a downder.
15. Does anyone know if there is an English version of Evangelion that has the deleted scenes that appear in the Japanese version...(i.i. Lillith regenerating, Lance of Longnus bosters, Fight with 16th angel compleetly)...?
16. Like Jet, Spike started life anew. So did Faye, she was reawoken after 50 some odd year of being frozen. Edward never realy had a sense of time or life I think (but then I don't get why Ed was in the series except for comic relief). Truth be told all the main charachters Spike, Jet and Faye, have all restarted life. The stories in the BeBop series are about them comming to grips with their their pasts. Each find their resolution, Jet in Ganymede Elegy and Black Dog Sarranade, Faye in Speak Like a Child and Harl Luck Woman. Spike is different though. He is the worst case. He is comparable to a Phonix, dieing, to be reborn slightly different. His resolutin is found in Jupiter Jazz I/II, Pierrot Le Fou, Cowboy Funk, and The Real Folk Blues I/II. Perhaps this is becuase of his relationship with Julia. (I have no idea how on topic I am at this point forgive me).
17. Absolutly One word posts are not permited. Please refer to the MyOtaku forum on the main page. It's ok, because you're new, and have time to change; just wanted to push you in the right direction early. :) -Syk3
18. ROFL... Balled of Fallen Angels, in my oppinon is a good episode. However, if one looks for truly deeper meaning in the series, they will see that it is only a plot device, it lackes the Greater themes of Black Dog Sarrande, Cowboy Funk, Jupiter Jazz I/II, Hark Luck Woman, and The Real Folk Blues I/II. Why are most people drawn to it, the action! However, I have debated with Shyguy and I personaly belive that The Real Folk Blues II had much more acion and was much more satifying than Ballad of Fallen Angels.
