Name: Veil Sex: Female Age: 16 Group: X-Men (there are so many in the Brotherhood! --;;) Description: http://www.witch-hunter.net/manga/clover/clover1.jpg Power: She is able to vary the temperature around her, and in this, raise or lower the temperature of other things around her. Bio: Veil was sent to Xavier's school only very recently. She exudes a bright and cheerful outward appearance, but inside is actually usually tense, worried, and stressed. She is always thinking about what others think of her, and tries to steer away from confrontation. She loves soccer, and plays the cello often, usually to calm her nerves, and to think. Books are also another love of hers, and she has stacks and piles of them in her room. She never talks about her home life; all that's really known about her is that she came from an extremely poor family in a foreign country, and is attending the school under Prof. Xavier's charity. She always tries to be responsible, and doesn't like to cause anyone to worry about her. Because of this, she's already known as very dependable and trustworthy. She uses her power so subtly that people often don't notice, and would be able to pass for a normal human being, except for her odd coloring..(white hair, pale skin...but very pretty.) Kind of an anomaly, there are those who would try to kidnap her because of her kind of interesting, delicacy. For now, though, she has no really close friends, although she's pretty nice and friendly towards anyone she meets. Soccer is the only thing in which she allows her true competitive nature to kick in - she loves it, and plays well. Cello she's almost a child prodigy at, and it's one of her passions - it helps to calm her, and lulls her with its low, vibrating hum. The younger children of Prof. Xavier's school all have taken a liking to her, and she will comfort them, play with them, care for them, and most of all, tell them stories from her books.

Name: Veil Age: looks 16 or 17 Race: Ghost Gender: Female Ghost Item: Light Scent How she died: In a way, her father and brothers killed her, forcing her to commit seppuku, ritual suicide, so that she would not to bring dishonor to their family. Personality: Veil is quiet and calm, easily left out and ignored. She doesn't call attention to herself unless necessary, and when she speaks, her voice is soft and gentle, like a sweet autumn breeze. On first meeting, she seems to be a bit melancholy, and her smile is a mix of happiness and sorrow. However, she has not changed much, even over the thousands of years as a ghost. Still cheerful, she brings levity and peace wherever she goes. Veil cannot stand to see people sad, and always tries to bring light to their lives, some sort of peace that they can retreat to. She sometimes whispers in the breeze to them, with the leaves of the japanese maple swirling gently around them, offering them words of peace and encouragement. People, after passing or sitting under the tree (which is now gargantuan after thousands of years), always feel their spirits lighten, and smiles light their faces. She uses her Light Scent to calm humans, bringing resting sleep to them so they may feel rejuvenated and content after waking. Bio: Veil has been a ghost for thousands of years, so long that she is unable to remember her human name. When she was alive, she was a member of a very honorable and noble family, one that was well-rewarded by the rulers. Their family graveyard was the Cherry Blossom Graveyard, and all members of their family were buried or entombed there. Veil had a happy childhood, as the only daughter amongst five brothers. As the youngest, she was doted on and cherished, and brought happiness to her whole family. Even the peasants and common folk that lived in her father's boundaries looked upon her as some sort of bright princess, always light and happy. However, after she turned seventeen, that all changed. Her brothers, all older, were now all samurai, along with her father. It was in their family blood, and they served their lord unconditionally. Because of their dedication and honor, the lord always rewarded and honored them sumptuously, and their household was rich. The household of Veil's family was quite used to visitors. Always a busy place, many samurai came and went, seeking training and aid from her father and brothers, and perhaps to get a word to the lord they served. One day, the lord came to their home to speak with Veil's father, and saw Veil. He was pleased with her delicate grace and beauty, and next thing she knew, she was betrothed to the lord's son. She didn't mind - it was all a daughter's duty, and she knew her life wouldn't be bad. She was actually kind of happy, and the marriage preparations were exciting to the young girl. However, that happiness did not last. Veil's heart was innocent; she had never had thoughts about men, except love for her father and brothers. She never knew about passion, or love. Until...one day, when she saw one of her brother's friends, a visiting samurai. His name was Soichiro, and he was wild, spirited and passionate. She was curious, drawn to his fierce nature; she had never met anyone like him before. Over the summer, the two fell in love, a forbidden thing that would bring dire consequences. Veil and Soichiro's love was discovered, and her family was at first shocked. That shock slowly turned into horror and sorrow, and finally, anger. Afraid of her family's wrath, Soichiro fled, never to be seen again. So as not to bring dishonor to their family, Veil's father and brothers reluctantly asked her to commit seppuku, ritual suicide. It was the only thing that could be done, the only thing that was acceptable. And she, as an honorable daughter of a noble samurai family, killed herself. Her blood gently fell on the autumn leaves; the love of summer had ended. Veil's body was buried under a small, red japanese maple tree. It was the only thing to acknowledge her; no headstone or shrine was afforded to her; there would be no future generations to come and light incense for her spirit. The small tree would be the only reminder of her short life. Appearance:http://www.animeshrine.com/gallery.php?series=kohimeohse&image=55

OOC: How the heck does Sirus know that Veil is planning to break her oath? And she hasn't even broken it yet. She hasn't even seen Siro again yet. IC: Veil ran to a small grove, looking around quickly. She found the others easily; they were too injured to move from where she had placed them. Kilik and Mya lay in an empty stream bed under a gargantuan fallen tree. It was very quiet, and the shade camoflauged their bodies with the surroundings. Veil knelt beside them, feeling Mya's forehead with her hand. She bit her lip, "Damn. She's burning up. God, what kind of poison did she use?" Veil took a look at the stomach wound, and hissed at the sight of it. Mya had lost blood...a lot of it. And poison was spreading through whatever she had left over. Damn. Kilik moaned, and Veil turned quickly. Running her hands over him, she felt the bruising and swelling of internal injuries. He must have fallen somewhere...and he's broken some bones. I don't even know the extent of his injuries yet... What was she going to do? Kilik and Mya were both critically injured, Sinahiro was fighting those men by himself, and Veil needed to help them all. What am I going to do? she thought, brushing her hair out of her eyes. Just stay calm. Do first things first. Veil checked Kilik again; he could wait a little, if the swelling didn't get worse. Her first priority right now was Mya. She took one of the darts, smelling the tip. What kind of poison was this??? She racked her brain, closing her eyes to concentrate. She knew this scent... what was it? *Snap!* Veil turned her head, her eyes trained on the noise. It was deathly still. Then... more soft noises...and more rustling in some of the ferns. Veil narrowed her eyes. Someone had followed her. She readied Mya's dart in her hand, and threw it, following her instincts. Something in the ferns jumped viciously, and Veil ran out to meet it with her glaive. Sshhiiing! A blade came out to challenge her glaive, and Veil was locked in a fierce struggle. Then, she looked at the stranger's face, and immediately jumped back. "Hentaro!" Hentaro panted in relief, beads of sweat forming on his face. "Well, Veil, I must say, you're awful strong for a girl. I thought you might get me there...for a millisecond or two." Veil laughed, relieved that she had found a friend and not foe. "Hentaro, I'm like three years older than you! Now none of your cheek. Mya and Kilik are wounded badly; I need you to help me. And I don't know what's happened to Sinahiro - he ordered me to leave him, so I had to. He was fighting when I left, and he was outnumbered."

Name: Eternity (AKA Tere) Age: 19 Race: Elf Gender: Female Fighting experience: She has been trained in combat since the age of five. She has knowledge of hand to hand combat and most weapons. Main Weapon: a slender, slightly curved elven blade Magic: She has the ability to change and control temperatures. Appearance: Has a slender, toned figure. She has short, dark hair and misty-gray eyes that seem to lighten and darken. Wearing a supple tunic that goes to the knees, she wears leggings and leather boots. Although they were aware of each other's existence, they were raised in different areas by different groups of elves, although all of them were related in some distant way. Eternity grew up with noble elves who lived in a densely wooded area. It was near a swamp, and she grew up in the murky woods, thus giving her her pale complexion. The other elves called her Tere for short, and she would often bring mists and fog by raising the temperatures of the swamp, forcing the water to evaporate into mist. She always blended in with the swirling fog. She always visited her twin Infinity, and sometimes would stay for a little while, but would always return to the dark woods where she was raised. Eternity now goes often between the place where she was raised to Infinity's home.

Mariyel caught her breath, looking towards the horizon. Someone, she thought, is coming. Quickly. She rubbed her hands together nervously. Is this what I want? What if the others...are still upset with me? But she couldn't stop the others' coming any longer. All she could do was wait..and dread. She felt the presence grow stronger. It was growing so quickly, getting closer and closer. It didn't matter if they were on the other side of the world - sooner or later the others would find her, and she would have to fight. She would have to join, and fight...and face her fear. I cannot fail this time, Mariyel thought, closing her eyes. She tried to block out her memories, but they came rushing in like the tide. There was no end to the guilt. It was just a question of if the others would hold her responsible for their failure. My failure. Then she looked up again, and recognized the signature of power that was coming near. "Aranel," she whispered. Mariyel resisted the urge to flee, instead standing as still as a statue. She would not run. She had to face it sooner or later, and sooner would be better than later. How soon would they be here?

Veil wrapped her things into a bundle, and then put it in a light leather bag on her back. She looked around her empty room, and rolled up the sleeping mat she had used. The sunlight filtered through the paper panels, and she could see the dust floating in the air. Her blankets were stacked in the corner, neatly folded. The small closet in the wall was also empty. It looked exactly as it did before she had moved in. 'It's only been a few days, and already I'm leaving this place. I...was supposed to train...but...I guess it's not my path. Not this time, anyway.' Veil turned, and slid the door closed behind her. The sun was getting higher in the sky, and students were running everywhere in their traditional uniforms, excited and laughing. Watching them, she went to meet Sinahiro. He wasn't there, so she waited, looking at the students wistfully. They were so happy here... Veil wished that she could stay. She shook her head and let out a little sighing laugh. "Oh, even if I stayed, it wouldn't be the same with me." She watched them again, as they went through their morning exercises. She didn't notice Sinahiro come up beside her, her attention was so fixed on the young students. "Veil? Ready to leave?" he asked, watching her shock as she turned. "Didn't mean to surprise you." She recovered quickly, covering with a small laugh, "Oh, it's fine. I wasn't paying attention. And yes, I'm ready to leave." "Alright then." He started walking, and she followed him out the tall temple gate, looking back once at the peaceful, sunny grounds. Then she turned and continued to follow Sinahiro. Suddenly she caught her breath. 'The Siroshima Fire,' she thought. It's in the temple grounds. But...I can't leave Kilik.. Well, we'll come back after we find him, and then I will find the Siroshima Fire.' Veil continued behind Sinahiro.

Name: Veil Banesylvia Age: just turned 16 (like me!:D) Description: Dark, straight hair that is chin-length, and light gray eyes. She's 5'3", and her features are slender and shadowy. Year(or grade): 11th Bio: Veil lives with her mom, who is out most of the time working at ungodly hours. Her father is...non-existent in their home, and he's never spoken of. She moved here at the beginning of 10th grade, but was like an outcast. Not a people person, she didn't know how to act socially or fit in with others. Instead, she concentrated fully on her studies, acting patronizing and distant towards others. However, this year she started to warm up, and is finding her own place with a group of friends. She's trying to make more friends, and find a close one. As for guys... Well, she's very uncomfortable around them if they show feelings towards her. She doesn't want to get involved with anyone because she doesn't want her feelings to be flying out of control, but in truth, she's afraid of taking a risk and getting hurt. In secret, she dreams of a perfect match for herself, but so far just keeps guys as friends, since sometimes they're easier to talk to. She plays the cello in orchestra, and also participates in paint ball. She joined the Paint-ball Club, and is now its Vice Pres. She's also in many other academic activities, and plays soccer on the varsity team.

Mariyel stood by the sea again, the mist wetting her face. Tears slid out of her eyes, and she wiped them away, not wanting them to be seen. The villagers watched her, she knew. They were puzzled by her odd behavior. She had been pacing too much, and they could feel her tension, the odd feeling in the air. The sea called to her. Go. Go to them. It is time. "No, I cannot," she said aloud. "They...they have not come. They have not asked me." They need to ask? You can feel it is time. She shook her head. She didn't need to go to them. They were coming. Quickly. Mariyel could feel their presence...growing closer, stronger. She lifted her head. Where were they? Were they here? No...but they...were close. She was surprised..to feel that she was almost..excited. She watched. Would they come?

OOC: Hey, Gecko, what's with you and women? ;) IC: Veil woke from her sleep, sweat coating her face and body. She looked around her dark room, a line of light coming in through the crack between the door and the wall. She leaned back and closed her eyes. "...Sirus..." she breathed, tasting the hate on her tongue. She opened her eyes, and they were molten silver, anger alight in every glance. "Sirus," she said again. "You think...that I will make a deal with you?" Veil smiled softly, knowing that it would be the first time she would ever break an oath to someone. She shook her head, still speaking quietly to herself. "I..will not kill the Chosen One. Siro. I will not kill Siro...unless I am forced to. All I want is the Siroshima Fire, and my freedom. I want my freedom. You thought that my goal was to kill Siro, to kill the Chosen One." She took a deep breath, changing back into her regular clothes. "You, Sirus, were mistaken. My goal was not to kill the Chosen One, but to gain my freedom. But I swear, if Siro dies, it will not be by your hand. I will protect him from your evil stench, because he doesn't deserve such a death. Instead, Sirus, your fate is with me, and the Siroshima Fire." Veil picked up her glaive, and ran her hand over it, drawing a thin line of blood. "By the blood of my life, I swear that you, Sirus, will die by the Siroshima Fire. You will never get the Chosen One." She sat still, looking at the blood running down her hand in a thin line. It was bright, reflecting the oath that she had just sworn. Taking a breath, she slid her door open, and walked out into the grounds. And she wondered... if her freedom was threatened, would she kill the Chosen One? "No," she whispered, "please, no. Please...just let everything come to me as planned. Please don't force me to hurt him...that poor boy. Please...just let me live my life...freely. And help me to protect him." Veil looked at the new morning, breathing in the fresh air. She went to the repaired temple, looking at the statues of the gods. Putting her glaive aside, she bowed deeply, eyes closed in prayer. 'Please,' she thought, 'just let me live my own life. Let me use my strength to protect the Chosen One against this evil. Let not my own desires come into play. Let me find my hope, the Siroshima Fire. Let my identity stay hidden from others. Let my enemy Sirus not realize my betrayal.' Standing up, she looked at the tall statues. Her thoughts warred within her. What if they found out who she was? That she was supposed to marry the Chosen One? That she had run from her fate? Would she be able to run again? Or would they force her into that life? She shook her head. "No," she whispered again. "No, I will not go into that life. But I will not kill the Chosen One to gain my freedom. I will find another way, with the Siroshima Fire. And...Sirus will die by its edge." Turning back to the statues, she lit another stick of incense, and bowed her head to the floor, laying prostrate on the ground, her hands palm up and open, as if begging to have her prayers fulfilled. Let me..find a way, she thought again, her forehead resting lightly on the cool stone floor. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open. "Kilik!" She had just remembered, and jumped up, grabbing her glaive. Where was he? Where had Sirus taken him? Running out of the temple, she ran straight into someone. "Oh! I'm so sorry, I - " Veil looked up, and her eyes widened again. "Sinahiro-sensei! Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't looking - "

OOC: jro13, nice twist. never thought it would happen. IC: "Mya, put your weapon down. I'm not going to fight you. You're three years younger than I," Veil said, looking at Mya. She wanted desperately to let out her frustration and fear by pulling her glaive, but stayed her hand. If she fought a fourteen-year old girl, she would never be able to live with herself. Mya's eyes narrowed, and she lowered into an offensive stance, "Tell me! Tell me where Kilik is! And don't give that crap about age difference. When there's a fight, it doesn't matter. Now tell me!" Veil bit her lip. What the girl said was true, Veil knew, but at the same time her conscience wouldn't let her draw her weapon. She shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about. Put away your dagger." "I know you're lying! Tell me the truth!" Mya's voice rose, and she prepared to attack. "Mya! Stop it! Calm down!" Veil shouted, her voice strict and crisp. "Do you want to fight so badly??? Do you really want to kill me that much??? Do you want to push that dagger into my heart and watch my blood flow out???" She flung her glaive aside, and it clattered on the ground. The silence was deafening; not even the birds were heard. Mya stood in shock; her opponent had just completely disarmed herself - Veil was completely vulnerable. What was she thinking? Veil breathed, trying to get her emotions back under control. She closed her eyes for several seconds, and then opened them again, looking up at Mya. "You haven't even known me for a full day, and yet, you already accuse me of lying to you. How would you know? How would YOU EVER KNOW???" She breathed again, shutting her eyes so as not to look at Mya's wide eyes. "...you...you don't know me. You don't know who I am. And I don't know who you are. But...I haven't accused you of anything. I haven't done anything to you. Don't you dare accuse me of lying. Don't you dare accuse me of anything. Don't you dare." She picked up her glaive, putting it on her back. Mya gripped her dagger again. "You think that just because I don't know you, I don't know who's lying??? It doesn't take much to see a betrayal, and I see it in your eyes. Eyes are windows to the soul, and yours says that you know where Kilik is and that you're not telling me! Don't try to change the subject! Tell me where he is! Tell me what you did!!!" "STOP IT!" Veil's head whipped around, her silver eyes flashing with hidden fire and rage. Her dark hair settled again, the short strands framing her pale face. She looked down, and her hair hid her eyes. "You think...you think you know everything? You think that you can know everything about a person's soul by looking in their eyes? A window to a person's soul? Eyes...eyes deceive...eyes trick...eyes betray... You can't tell anything by looking into a person's eyes...unless they're dead, or dying. And do you know why?" Veil looked up with a twitch of a smile, both cold and wry at once. "No one is innocent. I agree, a person's soul can be seen through eyes, but.. it doesn't always show everything. You can never tell if what you're seeing is the entire truth, because your eyes don't show the entire truth all the time. But, you're too young to have realized this. That's why I won't fight you. You're not on the same ground as I; you wouldn't have the same footing. Like it or not, age does make a difference sometimes, and this is one of them. Put your dagger away, and go back to the temple." Mya's lip curled, and her eyes snapped with anger. "My eyes don't deceive me. And it's not only my eyes that I use. My instincts speak to me of betrayal - they whisper in my ear. My nose smells the stench of a back-stabbing traitor. My skin prickles, cautioning me that there's underdealing near. I KNOW something happened, and you're not telling me everything. Tell me. NOW." Veil sighed again, and looked up, smiling. "Then your instincts and body deceive you once more. Put your dagger away. I'm not going to fight you, and you won't kill me unless if I don't try to defend myself. I respect you for that - you have honor. But...you pass judgement on others too freely. The world is not yours to judge; you don't know the past and emotions of every person. Your instincts can be wrong. So..be careful in what you say. And be careful to choose your battles wisely. Because you will die if you choose one where your enemies are stronger. Avoid your opponent if they are better than you." Veil turned, and started to walk away. Then, Veil turned back, speaking one last time. "...and don't presume to pass judgement on me, don't presume to accuse me of crimes that haven't been witnessed. You, an innocent, fourteen-year old girl, have no right. Others may, but you don't know me. You don't know who I am, or who I was, or anything of my life. You don't have that right." She walked away, leaving Mya alone on the street. __________________________ "Sinahiro? Sinahiro-sensei?" Veil called, walking into one of the buildings. Her voice echoed eerily, and she considered looking for him elsewhere. But, then she turned, and almost jumped out of her skin. Sinahiro was by her side, barely noticeable even though he was inches away. "Yes?" he answered. "Where's Kilik and Mya?" Veil answered calmly, "Kilik? Wasn't he here with you? I haven't seen him... Oh! But I did run into Mya. She was looking for him, and we talked a little bit. I think she's still looking for him." Sinahiro nodded. "I see. Where did you go? We were wondering where you went." She shrugged, smiling. "Oh, I went to think... I had some things on my mind... and it was too noisy here.." Her face grew sad. "It's just...well...I just sometimes need time to be by myself. I guess I just need my privacy." She looked up at him, and he saw a glimpse of a tear in her eye. "Do you understand that? I mean, you understand me, right?" Sinahiro merely nodded, trying to ignore the thought that her eyes were beautiful. She smiled again, and then looked down, her hair hiding her face. "Sensei, I think I'll go now. But, can we start my training tomorrow?" He nodded again, and she left. After Veil was gone, he thought... There was obviously something wrong. Veil's eyes...had changed. Somehow, they were..colder. Beautiful, but... it was like feeling a slight chill, something he hadn't felt before around her. She had changed, or something had changed her. He shook his head, closing his eyes in thought. What had happened? Veil, outside, took a deep breath, and then went to her small room that had been assigned to her during the length of her training. She pulled the door close, and then undressed, folding her clothes neatly and stacking them in a small dresser. She took out a clean-white kimono, wrapping it comfortably around her. The smell was comforting...a simple reminder of her old life. She could still imagine and hear the sounds of her home... Veil opened her eyes, and fingered her sleeve and collar. There was the tiniest bit of embroidery inside the cuff of her sleeve, so infinitesimal that it was almost invisible. It was her family seal, embroidered in white thread that matched the cloth exactly. She looked at it, studying its details. She knew she should rip it out - her hatred of the betrayal of her family still was strong...mind-numbingly strong...but for some reason, she didn't, just pressing it with her fingers. Veil slowly fell asleep, her room dark and sheltered from the heat and sun outside. A tear trailed down her cheek, and disappeared.
-
The sea breeze sifted towards her, lifting her hair as she breathed in the salty air. The bay was calm, and fog drifted over in small clouds. She could feel droplets of water forming on her face and clothes. And she could feel her elements changing...they had come back, reforming themselves to her shape, making themselves familiar once more ... and she could feel that the Apocalypse had come. Mariyel bowed her head towards the sea, and then walked slowly back to her hut. There was food on the threshold, and she picked it up and set it on the table. The villagers had been by again... They were so kind to her, letting her keep her privacy, and yet giving her gifts and caring for her needs. They also shielded her from the curiosity of others, tourists included. She knew the modern world...and feared it. Too timid, she supposed. "Must I go?" Mariyel asked herself, but she already knew the answer, could already feel the beck and call of the sea to answer her summons, answer the powers of the others with her own. To join her brethren and fight back against the coming darkness. In the end, she knew she would go; she must. But for now, Mariyel waited. She wouldn't go unless they needed it, unless they asked for help. Inside, Mariyel was frightened, nervous...and felt the guilt of eons... Two words stayed in her mind: ...I failed.... The past was with her, catching up to her, and she trembled to face it. She would wait.

Veil spoke with the others in the morning, and everyone welcomed Mya in warmly. After a quick breakfast, though, Veil excused herself from the group, welcoming the privacy... to look for the Siroshima Fire, and the Chosen One. She still didn't know who it was, and she was getting a little nervous being in the same vicinity as her betrothed, even though she didn't know which one it was. Not to mention, she had a few things to think about... like Sinahiro, for instance. 'Did I really do that?' she wondered, walking along the grounds. She passed by the wall that she had been lying against, and envisioned the battle once more. Once again, she heard Sinahiro's words come to her, telling her to run away. Suddenly Veil bit her lip, tears coming to her eyes. "I already have run away. No more running. I'm tired of running. This time, I'm not going to run away... this time I'm going to fight." She stood still as she was overwhelmed by memories, and with the memories came the anger at her past, at what she had been forced to do, and why she had had to run from her family and home. They had betrayed her. They had promised her in marriage to the heir of the Siroshima Fire without her consent. "No more running," she said again quietly. She would find the Chosen One and keep away from him, and she would take the Siroshima Fire. She would make her own life. And if she was forced to, she would kill the Chosen One to do that. No more running. Veil walked quickly, going towards the buildings.

Veil covered her head from the debris falling from the sky. She couldn't believe what she was seeing - an Earth ship had collided with the false sky dome! Debris was falling, and she could see some of the shields faltering. What the hell were they thinking??? Didn't they know they would kill billions of civilians??? "Terran (earth) bastards! What the hell do they think they're doing?? Idiots! Don't they know that not all people are with the ASR?? Oh, god!" She ran back towards the warehouses and hangars, dodging the screaming crowds that were starting to riot through the streets. It was chaotic - order had been lost as soon as the people had seen that the sky dome was being breached. Veil struggled to get through the crowds, who were all running to the air ports and ships. She ran into a hangar, which was deserted; the mechanics and everyone had left with the others. She swung into one of the JECHTcoms that had been left. It was a quite recent model, and some new additions had been added, along with spray cannons and several types of rockets. She made sure that the beam sword was also in hand, and then placed her hands on the controls. The AI came on the system: Please verify pilot. Veil's frustration came out on the AI. "F*** off. Over-ride systems." Her fingers flew over the keys, and she quickly hacked the security system, putting in her own programs and custom knacks into the controls. She blasted out of the hangar and towards the top of the sky dome, the view of the chaotic battle getting closer in her field. She turned on her com to all signals, and immediately a kid's terrified voice came on. It was Logan, "Stop! Stop stop stop stop stop!" Veil called to him, "Kid, where are you??? Get away, it's dangerous!"

OOC: Ok, ignore my last post, since it's irrelevant and I'm too lazy to delete it. :) IC: Veil walked quickly, wary of the forest. It had started to grow dark faster than she had thought. A mistake on her part. Already the forest had started to come alive with the strange sounds of night, and she eyed the sides of the road carefully. Earlier today, she had found a cart by the side of the road, but had left it without investigating it because she had heard voices approaching. Not a people person, she had left quickly and unseen. Now she wished that she had looked through the contents of the cart; there could have been a lantern...anything to give a little light right now. It was growing chilly, and she drew her cloak closer about her. Her breath came out in puffs. The weather was so strange in this land; warm, hot, and dry in the day, and in the night the temperatures dropping rapidly as soon as the sun went down. It was surprising that people lived here, but that's what she thought of anywhere she went. Why did people bother to fight the elements and live? Why take on the challenge of life? She herself was planning to end her life... as soon as her mother was avenged. With the memories of her mother, all thoughts of the cold vanished, and she grew hot with anger. One word came to mind, one word that based her hate: Silverdane. In particular, Edreck Silverdane. Before she took her last breath, he would suffer by her hand. She had vowed it. She would fulfill that vow, or she would hunt him and his family forever. Veil walked on, her thoughts on her enemy, and tears started to blur her eyes. Her breath came out in white plumes, visible in the cold air. She was so...lonely. Why was it like this? Through her tears, she didn't see the dark shadows at the corners of her vision. Suddenly, a quick blow to her head, and she was unconscious and laying on the road. A dark figure rummeled through her pack and belongings, fingering food and tools, and then tossing them aside. Suddenly, a silvery light shone in the moonlight, and the figure grabbed it. Then it was gone, with the shining object carefully in its hands. It disappeared back into the dark forest, leaving Veil on the road. The cold seeped into her body, and the blood congealed on her head. It grew colder, the low temperatures keeping Veil in her unconscious state, lying helpless. The night passed... It was before dawn, the light barely visible, and mist billowed everywhere. A wagon rumbled up the road, three figures with it. Sometimes their voices could be heard in the early morning. Suddenly, the one called Kerrigan smelled blood close by. "Wait! Stop a minute! I smell... blood." "What?" MaCarthur asked, looking around. Jedgar was the first to spot the body. "There! A body on the road!" They rushed over, and Jedgar examined Veil, whose skin was blue and covered in the delicate designs of a light frost. "Dead...wait, no, she's not dead. She's still alive!" Confirming their belief that she was alive, Veil's breath came out in white plumes.

Name: Veil Arashi of the Emish Age: 17 Sex: Female Weapon: Longbow - It is an ancient weapon passed down from her ancestors, and is extremely old. It has decorative tribal patterns all over, and her arrows have stone heads and are knotched with black feathers. Her arrows also have the patterns running over them, and it is chaotic to the eyes. For back up, she has a machete-like knife, about 1 1/2 inches wide and 12 inches long. It's plain and undecorated, often hidden in the folds of her tunic. Bio: Veil is a princess of the Emish people. Her older brother is the Prince of the tribe, and dotes on her. However, some of the members of their tribe think that she has too much influence over her brother. When she was little, her older brother was sickly and weak, and everyone thought that he would die. Thus, when she was born, her parents pretended that she was a son, and disguised her. But at that age, no one could tell, and she looked like a boy as much as a girl. Veil was thus trained in all the weapons and ways of the Emish people, just in case her brother died. She became expert and skilled quickly, and led the village defenses. Her brother didn't die, in part because Veil helped to make him better by forcing him to go outside and partake in activities. In return, he introduced her to education and books, which she devours. She loves mythology and learning about the mighty gods of the forest. Recently, Veil was betrothed to a different prince of another tribe. She was very angry at her parents, and stopped speaking to them. Her brother, although saddened and against the marriage, knew that it had to be done. It was their duty. As a result, she felt that he had betrayed her by not standing up for her. She asked her brother for a last wish before her marriage, and he agreed. She told him that her wish was to go with some of the Emish warriors to the village of Unashi, and since he had promised, he agreed. She now accompanies some of the Emish to the Unashi, seeking to find peace with her betrothal, or death. Description: Short, dark hair and light gray eyes. Veil's head rolled, and blood trickled out of her mouth. Sinahiro hurriedly checked her breathing and pulse, relieved when he confirmed that she was alive. He picked her up, looking for a safe place where he could set her. No one was about - they had all hidden from the battle. Veil coughed more blood, and her eyes opened. "Who...who are you?" "You're awake! Veil, I'm Sinahiro! Do you remember me? Do you feel ok?" Veil nodded slightly, her vision hazy and dizzy, "Oh..Sinahiro...what happened?" He was about to answer, when suddenly she started, her eyes growing wide. "What is it? What's wrong?" Sinahiro asked, his eyes focused on the pain in her face. "I...I think my ribs are broken." Veil's breathing grew faster, and she hissed in pain as she winced. Her face started to grow pale again, and Sinahiro could tell she was going into shock. "Ok, hang on. Just..hang on. Keep talking to me." He looked around, his brain hurriedly trying to think of a safe place for her. Suddenly, she started screaming. "Oh, God! Stop! Make it stop! STOP IT!!!" Her body contorted in pain, and Sinahiro heard more bones cracking in her body. Tears streamed down her face with blood, and she wrenched herself in his hands. "Sinahiro! You can't avoid me! Fight, or else I'll kill her." Sirus's cold, victorious voice was heard over Veil's screams. Sinahiro turned, and saw Sirus's twisted smile. His doubles had been defeated, and had disappeared. Sirus was surrounded by a shadowy aura, a sign that it was his dark spell that was slowly torturing Veil. At that same moment, Kilik and the others ran back into the temple grounds.

Veil's fingers flew over her controls. She kept one eye on the others and the chaos outside of Shrapnel, the other following the code running down the screens. They were going so fast it was almost a blur, but her eyes darted back and forth. It was inhuman. She quickly found Zieg's familiar pattern of hacking, and followed him, tidying his path. Damn, he was getting faster than her. She'd have to practice more. "Mira!" she called on the com. "Mira, come in." Mira's frightened voice came back to her, "Veil?" "How's Kitsune?" "I - I - I don't-" Veil shook her head in frustration. "Mira! Listen to me, Kitsune's condition won't allow him to enter combat. His body is too fatigued and damaged right now. If it's stressed anymore, he'll suffer permanent damage. You need to follow James's orders and get him out of here. Do you understand?" "Well, yes, but-" "Mira!" Veil was shouting now, and she turned Shrapnel to face them. "Listen to me: get him out. Kitsune CANNOT FIGHT. It is imperative that you keep him out of combat." "How?? He's trying to fight!" Veil left Zieg's path, trusting him to break through the tracking codes. "Ok, Mira, you're going to pilot the Phalanx." James's voice now came in. "What?? Are you crazy?? No one but Fox can pilot Phalanx!" "Right now we don't have a choice! Just follow my lead, or Kitsune's chance of survival will be zero!" She waited, until she heard their quiet voices telling her to continue. "All right, Mira, I'm going to rewire Phalanx to your controls. It won't be able to recognize Kitsune as the pilot - only you'll be able to. Understand?" Her hands flew over the controls as she quickly disabled Phalanx's program defenses. They were indeed quite extensive, a show of Kitsune's skill, but they were no match for her. For once she was thankful that there was no challenge or problem. Her heart was beating fast enough as it was. She quickly adjusted the codes, watching as Kitsune's signals in the code were wiped away. "Veil? Is it ready?" Mira's voice could barely be heard over the fire and noise of combat. She hit one last key, and then replied, "It's ready. Go..now!"

Veil pounded the thick door. "Let me out! Damn you! Where did you go?" The person named Siro had barred her in one of the storehouses, knowing that she wouldn't be able to hack her way through the 5-inch walls and doors. Stupid bastard. Then he had gone, leaving her in the dusty storehouse, among all the dried supplies and herbs. She turned around again, and then sat down, tired and sweaty. Veil had attacked the door and walls, trying to rip her way through the wood. "Oh jeez, of course I just had to drop my glaive when he pulled me out of the temple. If I had that, then I'd be able to get out. Damn." She smacked herself in the forehead, moaning at her stupidity. "Why did I just stand there??? Augh! Why didn't I fight??? Why did I just freeze?" She pounded the dirt in anger, dust flying in her face until she was coughing. Suddenly, she heard a large rumbling and crackling, and then voices. She couldn't identify who they were, and looked through one of the knot-holes in the wood. Sinahiro and the stranger called Sirus were fighting. Looking over at the temple, she now knew what the sound was: part of the temple wall had been blown out. Suddenly, she saw the gust of wind that had blown it down...and realized it was coming straight towards the storehouse! Veil buried herself in the heavy bags and sacks, rooting herself to the dirt floor. The building shook, and the howling took over. Dust flew everywhere, and suddenly, light streamed in. She felt her body being picked up by the gust of wind. "Crap! No!" But there was nothing she could do. The building was torn away, and everything else flew after it, including Veil. One of the sacks entangled her limbs - she was flying through the air, completely helpless, like a rag doll. BAM! She was thrown against one of the outer stone walls of the training grounds, and her head snapped back against the hard rocks. The wind swept away towards the forest, leaving Veil unconscious and bloody by the wall. She didn't move. Meanwhile, Sinahiro had at first not noticed that the gust of wind had gone wild...until it picked up the storehouse. He didn't notice Veil in the whirling wind; his concentration was focused entirely on Sirus's swift blade. He countered, and then his eyes were caught by something beside the stone wall a few yards away. It looked like... a body.

Name: Mariyel Gender: Female Element: Sound, Sea, Telepathic Power: Telepathic- Her power in this is kind of minimal. She cannot read minds. She can only read memories...basically flipping through the pages of their minds. She can resurrect any memory in the person's head. People will feel a slight stroking sensation in their brain, though most dismiss this as nothing. Contrary to popular belief, she cannot speak to people in their heads either. Sound- Mariyel is able to amplify sound to gargantuan proportions, or block it out entirely. She can also project sounds from the memories she reads. For example, if she hears someone's voice in their memory, she can recreate that sound in real life. She uses this sometimes to surround her enemies with cacophanies of sounds that remind them of their pasts. A good distraction. Sea- To use her powers of the sea, she must be near saltwater, because the electrolytes in the water allows her control to be established. She can calm or rock the waves, and she's working on small tidal waves, which she hopes will soon turn into tsunamis if necessary, but that's a long way to go. She has base communications with sea-creatures, although it's crude and in its early stages. She can turn the tides, and make the water affect weather patterns around the area. For example, she can make high winds or dense fog roll in from the sea. Weapons: A pair of axes called Gam (moon) and Ri (sun). They are slender and elegant, obviously made for a lady's hands. The blades are a light silver, and the handles are intricately carved and engraved with pictures of the gods. On the ends of the handles they have silver tassels and bells. Description: She has green eyes and brown hair, but she's not as noticeable. Her eyes are more light, with tints of gray and silver, and her hair is darker and cut short to her shoulders. She wears robes of a misty-gray, which seem to float around her slender form, sometimes shimmering in the light. She seems to blend in with fog, mist, and clouds. Around her waist is a black sash that is elegantly roped, with silver tassels and bells. Elemental Description: Her hair grows long and flowing, a river of silver. Her eyes grow a sea-green, and mist billows around her, the fresh scent of the sea lightly perfuming the air. Patterns will shimmer and change along her robes, which flow around her, growing more celestial and other-worldly. Birth Place: A peaceful fishing village. Bio: Quiet and nondescript, she was often forgotten or ignored. It was always easy to forget that she was there, and many feel awkward in her presence. In the battle against the Apocalypse, she did as the other Titans asked and fought beside them. Her quiet rage was enormous, and the most surprisig. At the time, her powers were all well-trained and controlled, and she could use them in tremendous proportions. Her tsunamis came seconds after they were called, and her fog was as thick as soup. Her jangling symphonies would continually jarr the nerves of her enemies. Also, her telepathic powers were so powerful that she could literally peel apart a person. However, during the battle some of the creatures of the sea rose up against her, rebeling at her violent use of her powers. Her concentration and quiet confidence was broken. Instead, she lost control of her powers, her elements refusing to obey her, twisting in her hands. As a result, her telepathic powers flung themselves inside of her, destroying her enormous skill with them, and damaging some of her talent with the others. Thus, it resulted in her weakened and damaged powers, which she can no longer fully use. When the battle turned against the Titans, and the only thing they could do was banish the powers of the Apocalypse back to the realm of Hell, Mariyel felt enormous guilt of the fact that her skill was broken, and that she couldn't help. She felt that it was a majority of her fault that the battle had not been completed, because she felt her weakness turned the tide in favor of the Apocalypse. Now resurrected, her heavy guilt remains with her, and she has retreated into herself, rarely saying a word. She will do whatever the other Titans ask of her because she feels that she owes them something that she will never be able to repay, no matter how hard she tries. She isolates herself unconsciously, since her guilt almost permeates the air, and people can instinctively feel that something is not right with her. A reclusive being, she is usually timid and fearful, afraid that once again her control of her elements will turn on her. She has taken up residence on a mountainside on a small island, a place covered in mist and fog. People there like to call her a spirit of the mist, and dote on her, leaving her small gifts quite often. She takes these in silence, and by now the villagers have learned that she's more comfortable when they leave their presents where she can find them later on. They respect her privacy, and protect her way of life from the curiosity of strangers. She's like a small child that they wish to protect, although she doesn't know it.

OOC: Quote: Aww, cool, you want me as your tutor ^_^... Am I allowed to have more then 1 student? o_O?... Bah :P Veil's alter ego:Wow, he's so cute! I'm so lucky! Umm...yeah, tutor's good. And jee, he must be really cute even when dirty, cuz Veil fell for him pretty quick...like two seconds. hahah. personally, I don't know if Veil likes guys who are dirty. Next time they meet, Sinahiro should take a bath first. ;) And how does Veil think that he's cute if his face is all covered up? ICC: Veil was quickly gathering the younger students, most of whom had no idea what was going on and were frightened. She flocked them together and then herded them towards safety. They were just passing one of the grander buildings, when Veil heard shouting and sounds of combat. Dead guards were laying by the entrance. Veil made sure that the students were going in the right direction, giving one of them orders to tell the principal. Veil turned and left the group, running back to the building. That's when she noticed that it was the temple, and her eyes widened in shock when she realized that that was the place of the elders. Were they dead? No, it couldn't be. What was happening? A voice inside said quite clearly, "...I'm here for the Siroshima." Veil stopped, her heart pounding. The Siroshima Fire...was here??? If the sword was here... then this is where she would find the heir also. "No.." she whispered. She wouldn't give up her freedom now, and the chosen one threatened that. She had to find out who he was, if he was here. And she had to find the Siroshima Fire. She ran into the room, trying not to look at the bodies on the floor. Just as she saw Sinahiro and Sirus, another figure burst into the room, shouting "That's enough!" Just in case this was another enemy, Veil stood in a ready combat stance with her glaive in hand. But with her attention focused on Kilik, she didn't realize that Sirus had just set her in his targets...

Veil nodded, keeping her face emotionless. "Yes, we should tell them soon. But not now." Zieg looked at her. "Why? Is there something wrong?" "No, nothing's wrong." Zieg shrugged, and then looked over at the clearing, trying to get a glimpse of them. He turned back. "Then what?" Veil looked down, an uncomfortable look on her face. She reached for her headphones again, but stopped herself. "Well...they.... I think they need some privacy. They're all.. very emotional right now." Zieg understood fully, and nodded. Then he smiled at Veil. "Are you missing those headphones of yours?" She sighed, looking down again, and then started to climb back up Shrapnel. "Sometimes I do. But I'm glad they're gone."

Veil walked quickly through the mist. The temple was up ahead. She wanted to run, but contained her excitement. She walked more slowly now, the Academy in full view. She could hear the shouts of the students as they practiced. Would she make it? "This is it," she whispered, before going through the main gate. She entered into a courtyard with a bell, where she stared in surprise. Students were in ranks, practicing their exercises in unison. One of the instructors came towards her, "Do you need assistance?" Veil answered, clearing her throat, "I came here to train. How do I become a student of this Academy?" He smiled faintly, "Well, it depends on what you wish to be. What is your goal?" She said clearly and strongly, "To become a full-fledged Shinobi." The instructor bowed, "Well then, I welcome you to the Academy." He turned to one of the students. "Fetch Sinahiro Gohan. He will show her the Academy, and will instruct her." Veil waited for this 'Sinahiro' to show.

Feudal Era Name: Sanosuke Koryuma (Shinaki) Age: 16 Gender: Male Race: Human Bio: Sanosuke is one of Kyosuke's younger brothers. When the village was attacked, and his mother and sister killed, Sanosuke was discovered in the rubble by a passing family of nobles. They were kind, and were horrified by the devastation. When they found Sanosuke, a small child, they took him in, and he was raised as the son of a nobleman. The nobles were of the family of Koryuma, and thus that's who he thinks he is. When the village was burned and his mother and sister killed, Sanosuke went into deep shock, and that's how the Koryuma's found him. He then went into a deep coma-like sleep, and when he awoke, he had no memory of his life in the village or the attack. He remembers nothing of Sanosuke or his other brother, whose whereabouts are unknown. He has had a happy life with the Koryuma's, but has recently been having nightmares about attacks, blood, and fire. (They are memories rising to the surface in his sleep.) Being raised as the son of a noble, Sanosuke has been trained well in all forms of combat, but is mostly expert in martial arts. He excels in the longbow. Because of his adoptive father's connections, Sanosuke has been exempt from going to the academies and military training. Description: Looks like a younger version of Kyosuke. Sanosuke actually almost looks like his twin - if you saw them together, you could definitely tell they were related. Personality: Sanosuke is quiet and shy for a sixteen-year old. He loves reading books, and is quite knowledgeable and scholarly. He blushes easily (very embarrassing), and he's a horrible liar. He dislikes using weapons in combat because he thinks that they hurt others too easily; when he fights, he wants to be able to disable his enemy without hurting them too badly. He abhore unneccessary violence, and has a very pacifistic nature. The longbow is the only weapon he'll use because it's such a distance killer - in other words, he doesn't have to see the killing up close. Sometimes he has a little temper problem (red hair :D) but that's rare. He's very in control of his emotions, and doesn't like judging others unfairly. Weapons: Longbow Future Era Name: Veil Parry Age: 19 Gender: Female Description: Short, dark hair and gray eyes. She has a slender figure and looks a little younger than she really is. She wears loose pants with lots of pockets, and a dark long-sleeve shirt. Personality: Veil is very determined and stubborn. She is firm in her beliefs that stability must be established. She's very outspoken, almost violent, and is adamant in her goal. A little bitter at the deaths of her parents, she lets nothing stand in her way. She is not afraid of the mob bosses; instead, she is contemptible of them, and constantly attacks their violent actions. Towards others, she's quite friendly, but sometimes people get uncomfortable because of the steelly gaze of her eyes. She's a natural leader, and crowds of people follow her wherever she goes. Bio: Veil's family was under one of the major mob bosses in the city. Therefore, her father was constantly out, and came home alot wounded or bloodied. Her mother took this quietly, knowing what was required in their life. Her mother died when a rival boss kidnapped her and killed her, because her father was unable to negotiate a ransom. As a result, Veil had to by herself alot, and she took care of herself. She argued alot with her father, who was stressed and tired of the job. She continually told him to get out of the mafia, but he told her he couldn't. It was a life contract. He kept her secluded and in the house alot, because he became paranoid of her safety. He didn't want them to take his daughter along with his wife. After Veil turned 17, her house was attacked by another rival leader. This time, her father was hit, and as a consequence became paralyzed. He died soon after, and she became an independent. The boss that her father had worked for apologized and gave her large sums, providing for her living expenses. Because of her past history, she now is a political activist campaigning for a stable government, and an end of the mafia-ridden cities. As a result, she has had many death threats and attempts on her life. She has support from many people too, and the mob bosses are afraid that someone with power will support her. Thus, they're trying to knock her off before she's backed up. She travels and gives seminars, speeches, and participates in demonstrations. Her actions have gained world-wide attention, and she has become renowned. Weapons: Veil keeps only a small handgun for protection. She detests weapons of any sort, and protests strongly against them.
