1.
Originally posted by Nefertimon Another mistake made throughout the entire show is that the amount of life points each player has when the duel begins is different from in the card game. In the show, the duelists start out with 2000LP (Duelist Kingdom) or 4000LP (Battle City). In the actual card game (and in the other games, including WWE) each player starts out with 8000LP.
The duels in the episodes these days go for about two to three episodes, or more. If they did start at 8000 LP, they'd take a week to finish, and that'd probably be frustrating for us to watch. Not that watching duels isn't fun, but it's nice to have a plot going; if all it was were duels, then the show wouldn't be as interesting as it is.
2. Little Gladiator Level- 3 Attribute- Earth Type- Warrior ATK- 1200 DEF- 500 Stats: "A young boy who dreams of becoming a great warrior one day." Description: A child with Ancient Roman armor on, holding a small axe, and wearing a helmet that's too big for his head. He has a look of fear in his eyes, despite what the stats say **~~@~~** Epic Gladiator Level- 8 Attribute- Earth Type: Warrior/Effect ATK: 2600 DEF: 2200 Stats: (Effect) This monster can only be Special Summoned either by offering "Little Gladiator" as a Tribute, or after "Little Gladiator" is destroyed in battle. Description: An adult clad in Ancient Roman armor, whose face is shaded within his awesome helmet, but you can see his feirce white eyes. He's holding a long staff with an axe on each end. **~~@~~** Gladiator's Chariot Continuous Magic Stats: This card's effect only works if either "Little Gladiator" or "Epic Gladiator" is face up on your side of the field. Offer one monster on your side of the field as a Tribute (excluding "Little Gladiator" or "Epic Gladiator") to inflict 1800 LP damage to your opponent's life points. This effect can be used once per turn, as long as this card remains face up on the field. Description: A golden chariot of Ancient Rome. If this effect were to be seen on the anime, the chariot would come equipped with the Tributed monster as the steer (for example, if it were a Red-Eyes Black Dragon, then Red-Eyes would act as the horse) while the Gladiator stands on it as the rider.
3. Hi, everybody. This is only my second post here, but I'm a giel and I absolutely love playing the Yu-Gi-Oh card game! And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only girl out there that feels this way. We may be a minority, but in a way that works to our advantage because we can really psycke the guys out. For example: Boy: "I wanna challenge the girl; she probably doesn't even know how to play." Girl: [using a perfected Exodia deck] "Okay, if you insist..." [Long story short, the girl wins] If you want to know, I currently use a sub-type deck that centers around Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon. Other types I have right now are fiends, fairies, and one warrior (Amazon Archer- my favorite card). The deck is still being edited, because I'm experimenting on which sub-types work best together. I like to keep it original; come up with something that no one else thinks of, or uses that often. But I would also like to make a harpy deck, because the harpies are also favorites of mine. Okay, that might be a little too cliche of me, but it really was Mai who drew me into the game. I've been tap-dancing (not literally, lol) around the idea of collecting Magic: The Gathering cards, even though I don't really know how to play that game; but that just proves that I've always had an interest in card games. And Yu-Gi-Oh has finalized that for me, because now I'm playing it. Not in an official tournament, but I hope to get there someday.
4. (Newbie Alert!) I dunno about a live action movie, but yesterday while watching X-Men: Evolution, I saw a live-action/CGI commercial for the Yu-Gi-Oh card game. There was this tall guy that reminded me of Kaiba right off the bat, even before he pulled out his Blue-Eyes card. He seems to me like he'd make a great live-action Kaiba. (Did anybody else see this commercial?) Of course, the REAL problem with making a live action Yu-Gi-Oh movie would be to find somebody that can make Yugi's hairdo work in real life.... (thinks about the possibility, then cracks up laughing) Ahem... Yeah.
