The only true bad spam incident that I think we should even be lightly concerned with was the spam outrage that occured in the Adventure Square. Somebody would keep on regsitering a new account, and then cut and paste random, useless quotes from other threads into a wide variety of threads. After getting banned, he would keep on appearing. It appeared that the trend stopped tho.

Works for me. Its the most realistic solution in my opinion. Anyways, once Andrew posts, we'll move on.

I think that Digiital Devil Saga really needs to be turned into an anime or visual medium of sorts. It was an absolutley amazing story, but it just does not fit the videogame medium at all. I don't know if it was because of the colored hair the main characters had, but it just seems like to me it would fit better as a TV or Anime series than a video game.

I personally just think it sounds rediculous that trainers have to constantly shout orders during battles. I mean, you dont see Generals standing on a high balcony with a megaphone.
-
Well, for me, I actually wasn't go to do any actual talking during my battles. After all, we are TRAINERS, not Gods here. We TRAIN our pokemon, but beyond that, they have to act on their own intuition. Of course, Matt will be a unique case that you'll figure out once he gets to Mt. Moon, so what I have in mind will be easiar for me.

Well, I don't want Pokemon learning moves in a sesne. They will learn tactics and startegies, but not moves. For example, Cubone can learn to use his bone as a boomerang, but it won't be identified as a move. Just a tactic it developed.

[-Their First Meeting-] Matt sat on a hill as he observed the people running through the nursery. Some of them were observing the pokemon that lived peacefully in the nursery, while others were so excited over the event that they picked the first pokemon that crossed their path. Idiots. He didn?t belong here. He didn?t care for pokemon. He could care less that trainers were treating them more like objects than living beings. It wasn?t his problem. Let someone else deal with it. Just let him live his life the way that he wants to live it. ?Being observant as always?? Matt turned to see the Professor standing over him. ?Can I sit here?? ?Why you asking me? Its your nursery. You can do what you want.? ?But I?m asking. Can I sit here?? ??Sure. Its not like its taken or anything.? ?You know, I heard a story long ago. There was a man who hated women because his mother betrayed him when he was a boy. She would work night sifts at a processing plant, and when she came home he would be fast asleep. She never found herself in the man;s life. So, he made sure not to make woman a part of his life. He went though high school not even joking about stuff normal teenage boys joke about. He didn?t even look at woman the way he should. But one day, he met this beautiful woman who took his breath away. It wasn?t because of her beauty, though.? ?Oh?? ?She was beautiful because she was just like him. Her mother died long ago, and she barely saw her father because of his work. So she never wanted to have any man come into her life. But when they first talked, something clicked.? ?Then what happened?? ?Matt, I think you already know the rest.? Matt just sighed and stared back at the nursery. ?Get going. You know something is out there for you.? With that, the Professor kicked him lightly, although it was harsh enough to send Matt rolling down the hill. And as per to Murphy?s law, Matt didn?t stop rolling until he hit something. Alas for him, that something was a tree. ?God!? Matt shook his head, but the pain didn?t go away. Using the tree as support, Matt rose up. When he turned, he saw what he swore looked like a monkey with fire hovering near its butt. He slapped his head to make sure he wasn?t delusional. The monkey with the fire butt was still there. He was delusional. ?So what the hell are you looking at?? It didn?t say anything. ?Go on scram!? The pokemon followed the command?to an extent. It swung from a tree limb to the tree Matt crashed into. It placed itself right on a tree limb above Matt. ?Well screw you then. I don?t even know why I?m still here.? With that, he left. When he turned a corner, the monkey pokemon was still around that corner as well. ?God, what do I have to do to get rid of you?? It stuck its tongue out at him in response. Frustrated, Matt pulled his hair and fell to the ground. Intrigued, the pokemon went closer. ?What do you want?? Surprisingly enough, it shrugged. ?Can you understand me, you big-ass monkey butt?? It mooned him in response. ?I guess you?re not as stupid as you make yourself out to be.? He sighed. ?You?re not gonna leave me, are you?? It nodded its head. Not for a looong time, jackass. Matt looked around, to see if one of the visitors decided to be a jerk. He didn?t find anyone. ?That wasn?t you, was it?? It mooned him again. Oh yes. ?What?s up with you? Don?t you want to leave people alone? Don?t ya have any girlfriends to screw with or something?? It didn?t say anything. ?You?re stuck with me, huh?? It clapped it hands. Now you?re getting it! ?I might as well accept it then?? Matt unclipped the pokeball from his belt. ?Now, what did I have to do again? Just throw it?? Acting on his intuition, he decided to give it a shot. He lightly dropped it on the pokemon?s head. Instantly the pokemon was absorbed in a ray of light, and slipped into the pokeball. Matt went down to pick it up, but when he did, it exploded. ?The hell!? The pokemon was even more pissed, though. It was screaming and hollering at its trainer. ?You don?t like being confined, do ya?? It nodded angrily. ?Whatever. Lets go back to Oaks place?.but don?t even think of farting.? He could have sworn he saw it grin. ?I guess I?ll just call you Scimnio?since you?re an ape that has fire.? The grin grew into a smile. ?He liked it? I thought it was kind of crappy??

I have actually been thinking about it myself. I was thinking of treating pokemon learnign new attacks as humans would in a more 'serious' setting - through expierence. They learn new tactics, master new startegies, uncover more potential within themselves. I am not gonna have my pokemon be totally dependant on my character to do attacks - they will do things as they see fit. They may trust him, but in battles, there are no rules. No masters. Just win.

OOC ? White, I hope you do not mind me controlling Jonas so that we can get this show on the road. - - - The sun of Kanto shined brightly over the road as Jonas made his way. He traveled the road to Pallet Town many times before ? after all, you can?t exactly become a pokemon anything if you are not willing to travel, especially on Route One. However, there was a sense of urgency this time around. Today, he had no plans to sit in the tall grass, move as still as a rock, and wait for some unaware pokemon to stop by long enough for him to take a picture. Now, he had to get somewhere ? and fast. The letter said that the famous Professor would be gathering the selected people as early as nine in the morning. At three, it was evident that even the famously patient Oak would be losing his patience all too quickly. Jonas jumped over a toppled log that stood in his way. He had no time to lose! In Pallet Town, however, the meeting held in the Professor?s house was becoming much more chaotic than the Professor had wished. ?Why the hell did we come here?? ?What the heck is going on here Professor?? ?Oak, you better explain what this is all about!? ?My butt is starting to itch!? ?And I got to go to the bathroom?? ?Then go! No need to tell us!? ?And miss the big announcement? Hell no!? And with every protest, the Professor would do his best to settle everyone down. ?Everyone, please, just a little bit longer?? ?That?s what you said an hour ago!? Suddenly, the door slammed open, and all eyes turned to face a swearing teenager with a camera hanging around his neck. ?I?am Jonas Trevellion!? he answered any questions before they were asked. ?Ah Jonas, good of you to finally show up. I would say have a seat, but as you can see?? It was more packed than a hive. ?I understand?, he said warmly. ?Come inside, will you?? Jonas agreed all too well. ?Well then, now that most of us have finally made it, I will get down to business. Two weeks ago, Lance and I have a chat ?? ?Lance, the acclaimed Dragon Trainer?? ?Of the Elite Four?? ?The guy whose pokemon fought off a dozen Onyx?s in the war?? ?Everyone! Please! Settle down already.? The professor coughed lightly. ?Now, as I was saying, Lance ? of the Elite Four ? called me to inform of some dire news. It would appear that the affects of the war had a much higher cost than just human lives.? The look on Matt?s face darkened almost instantly. ?The connection between Trainer and pokemon has been lost. No longer do Trainers see pokemon as living, breathing, thinking animals. They do not even think of them as able to have any rights.? ?What?? ?Bull!? ?That?s horrible?? ?My god?How can we go so low??? ?Shut up already! I got a headache?? ?Everyone! Let me speak.? Oak took out a handkerchief and wiped his forehead. ?Lance gave me a proposition, one that I did not take without a huge amount of consideration. He suggested that give a handful of people that I knew to be moral people who saw pokemon as more than just tools of war and profit, but as living allies, pokemon of their own choice from my nursery.? ?Pokemon? Seriously? ?We?re gonna be trainers? Suhweeeet!? ?Oh whats the catch?? ?He?s right! No one gives something for nothing.? ?There is no catch. It as I have said it. I give you one pokemon of you choice, as well as a supply of six low rank pokeballs and food for you and your pokemon that, if you act maturely and responsibly, will last you a few months. What you have to do is somehow prove to the world that pokemon are not tools. They are animals, proud animals at that.? No one said a word. ?Ahem, well if you will all follow me?? He opened a door, which obviously led to the nursery. Everyone obeyed, silently. They found themselves back outside, on the way towards the Professor?s actual laboratory. Knowing that they would get lost in the huge facility if left to their own devices (with the exception of Matt and Azure of course), he led them to the nursery. It was a huge place, full of trees and vegetation and, as would be expected, tamed pokemon. ?In here there are roughly ninety species of first evolution stage pokemon. None of them are babies. My assistants will give you a pokemon. Find one that you wish, and simply tap, or throw, or whatever other method that suits you, to capture the pokemon. Once that is done, return to the meeting room. That is all.? In an instant, they all rushed onto the field as if running from a plague. The only one who took his time to observe, and slowly walked onto the field was Matt.
-
Well, I am sure that the people who we are waiting for WILL post, since they are mature roleplayers. But in the case that they dont post by evening tomorrow, I will move on without them and tehy will have to think of some other method to get their Pokemon.

Matt rolled off the sleeve of his sweatshirt so he could take a look at the time. The digital clock read eleven forty three. After nearly a few hours of waiting in the Professor?s house just so he could be told something, it was needless to say that he was getting aggravated. It was certainly tempting on more than a few occasions to just leave the house, but a feeling in his gut told him something big was happening; bigger than all the times some random punk would sneak into Oak?s laboratory to steal a pokemon; perhaps even bigger than the time his grandson Gary disappeared over the sea while traveling to a university to study. Just wait a little longer, he would tell himself. It will be worth it; it?s going to be really worth my time. Matt?s eyes darted around the room, observing all of the newcomers. Nearly a dozen people, Matt included, have gathered in Oak?s living room, at least a couple of people per couch. Matt was smart enough that when the first guest came to grab an arm chair instead of a couch. Now, some of them were getting aggravated for being constantly touched by touched by somebody, intentional or not. Mat licked his lips in sweet victory. Professor Oak stared at his watch. ?Looks like some of them are running behind?? Suddenly, the doorbell rang. ?Matt, go get that, will you?? ?Perfect?, Matt complained to himself. He got up with no quarrels, though, and opened the door for the newest guest. He had a large coat over his plain white shirt. His brown hair was raggedly and not exactly well kept, although Matt was not one to care about one?s looks. The man?s tanned skins gave a sense that he was somewhere far off. ?Hey, is this ?? ?You got a letter, right?? ?Uh, yeah?? ?Then come in.? He opened the door wider so that the man knew he was invited, and returned to his seat without another word. ?Sergei, good to see you?, the elder researcher smiled warmly as he shook the teen?s hand. ?Take a seat. Everyone is almost here!? ?Everyone? You mean there is more?? Oak?s answer was him pushing the bewildered islander into a couch, right on top of an unfortunate Mika. ?Uh hey?? he mumbled before the tree hugger kicked him off. Matt slipped a smile?if only for a moment.
ok, here?s one or two. 1: What about leveling our pokemon? I know it goes without saying we can't go from a Charmander to a Charizard in one battle. However most of the Pokemon actually have odd Real Life, real life being from the anime more or less, criteria to meet. Like Cubone is suppose to evolve once he/she no longer feels lonely.
Of course, do what you think is best. Have the evolution leevls eb spread out however - evolving should be a pretty bign deal, so it should not be a common event.
2: What about catching other pokemon? Can we catch pokemon that do not appear in an area from the game? For instance in the game you can?t catch a Dratini on Route 2 in the game, but can we (with a good reason) catch one on Route 2.
That sounds fine to me. Just make sure that its a good reason, for whatever Pokemon you feel like catching.

Doublehex is proud to present Pokemon: Legacies PROLOGUE As the moon falls upon the mountains, Giovanni schemes. He has waited many years, and he could easily wait even longer. Team Rocket is slowly getting a holding the corruptive side of the government. Soon, the whole world will be in his grasp; and he would not need to lift a finger. The project was almost ready. Just a little bit longer, and all of the pieces of the puzzle would fall into place. That was twenty three years ago. [Pallet Town Theme] The traffic of Pallet Town was as busy as it always was, or at least that?s the way Matt would see it. Kids would wake up all gloomy about school, while their parents would wake even gloomier about work. The clock tower would ring, and the kids would go off to school. Some of them would find an excuse not to go; they?d barely find a way to prevail. The streets would then be as busy as a hive, with cars beeping and dogs barking, with the occasional cat?s meow eventually making its way on top of the commotion. Once the final school bell rang, however, the town became much more peaceful. Frightenley so on some occasions. It was nine thirty. Matt was already dressed in the same way he dressed since he was a kid: hooded sweatshirt with jeans and sneakers. Nothing too extravagant, unlike half the teenage population who insisted on dressing as if prom was within the hour?not that Matt went to the prom to begin with. The teen fumbled a glove on as he went outside. It was fall, and he was smart enough not to get frostbite in the forty degree morning just because he was in a rush. Flipping his hood on the moment a blistering cold wind slapped itself into his face, he was ready for anything. Only a couple of people were on the streets. Most were smart enough to stay inside. Matt never did consider himself one of the more smarter people of the small town ? nor was he the most social. He lived his life alone, and he planned to die that way. He didn?t like company. With the exception of one man? ?Ah Matthew! So good to see you!? Professor Oak was just leaving one of the book stores when Matt was convenient enough to cross the street. ?I?m surprised to see you in this cold weather.? Matt just shrugged. ?Too cold for words, I know. Lets get to my house?I actually wanted to ask you a favor.? A favor? Uh oh ? that can only mean trouble. They got to Professor Oak?s house in a few minutes. Matt was a quick walker to begin with, but with the threat of cold winds itching behind, the two moved all the faster. ?Matt, tell me, what do you know of Lance?? ?Of Elite Four?? ?Yes.? ?Absolutely nothing. Why would I know anything about him?? ?Well, its not like curiosity killed the mewoth?? ?Cat.? Oak chuckled. ?Well, I got an interesting call a couple of weeks ago. He was going on on how there seems that Pokemon trainers nowadays are such immoral people, seeing them as tools, weapons even. No thanks to that horrible Gizdotsuo War.? ?What exactly is this about Professor?? Matt was getting impatient. Of course, the Professor was expecting this. ?I?ll tell when a few more people I invited will come down.? Matt rolled his eyes. He hated waiting for people. At least there wasn?t ? ?Matt, do you want some coffee?? Oh god?

Okay, I understand that I technically need to say that you got accepted, Acheron / Tekkaman, but I do honestly need to say it here, when most of us already know the results? :-P EDIT In other news, the sign ups are now closed, since my friend decided not to join due to lack of time. Thus, the list of those participating in what is sure to be the most awesome Pokemon RP this side of the Boards are... Andrew Doublehex foxtu78 Gavin (He's teh Gavin. 'Nuff said) Knuckles' Girl (We'll be watching you...) Kitty Random (Because no RP is complete without a Browncoat) sakazaki Satori Takuya Tekkaman Vicky White Wullf_Maximas (Sorry about missing those mistakes buddy! :animeswea)
Well, technically we wouldn't have to do it in order (if Doublehex said so, at least).[/FONT']
Well, whatever suits your fancy. It will be kind of tough for me to control the plot though... (yes, there is a plot beyond Gym leaders! Did you honestly expect anything less from me?).
-
Ah, I see what you guys are saying.
do we have to wait around while each other person battles and will there be an order and what not?
If there was a much lesser amount of you, that would be the case. But since theres like 11 +, I'll have it so that the Gym leader has assistants who are all very powerfull. Realistically, I think that would be what would happen anyways.
Do we decide if we win the badge or will you act as gym leader as well and so on.
Unless I see that most of you guys are acting immature about it, you guys will be the ones to decide.

The Big Brother series. Is it really that big a deal?
Doublehex replied to drakkeness's topic in Noosphere
hehe..Yeah sorry forgot about that..Well apparently there were kids watching the big brother uncut version which was screened at around 10 at night. Parents didnt like this and called for the show to be taken off tv..It got so hyped up that even the Priminister started ordering that it be taken off the air..
Well, what exactley happaned during this uncut episode? -
Interesting, most interesting. I was just wondering, seeing as we're all going to be travelling either solo, in pairs or in groups in a similar direction how gym battles are going to be conducted ? As obviously we all intend to beat the gym leaders in our paths.
I don't exactley understand what you are saying. It would obviously be one on one, since Kohto gym leaders always used just one Pokemon.

OMFGWTFBBQ! Its teh Kitty! XD Obviously Kitty, just your mere presence makes your character accepted, even it had only a name! As for you Takuya, it looks good, but we have so many people that I can't let you in. I did promise my very good friend RiflesAtRecess can join, however. So what does this mean? It means that the sign ups are now closed to everyone but RiflesAtRecess. EDIT: After some rethinking, I decided to allow Takuya into the RP. My reasons are my own. EDIT 2: In other news, I'm also allowing Tekkaman (aka Acheron) to join. Why? Because I can...and we go back RP wise.

The Big Brother series. Is it really that big a deal?
Doublehex replied to drakkeness's topic in Noosphere
A month or so back there was controversy over an incident that happened in the australian series of Big Brother. The country went wild callin for the show to be banned but is it really that big a deal?Give me your opions..
Well, can you tell us what exactley happaned? I mean, not everyone here lives in Australia, y'know. -
Random question time![/SIZE']
No pun intended? XD
First off, when are you planning on getting this thing up and running?[/SIZE']
When my friend, RiflesAtRecess, posts. If he tells me he's not gonna to, then right when that happens, I'll post. It will be up absolutley bu tommorow, I promise.
Second, would you be able to put up a "final accepted" list? Makes it easier to see who all will be RPing.[/SIZE']
I can do that before I close it, sure.
Thirdly, although it's been stated already, sorta, are we all starting together in the same town? As in, when it starts, are all of our characters going to be in the same town, starting the adventure there...or are we going to be spread out across the lands?[/SIZE']
Well, you can start off wherever, but you got to end up in Palett Town so that Oak can give you your Pokemon (and if you are an outsider, you'll need a darn good reason for him to give it to you).
-
@ Gavin: I got no problems with yours. Obviously accepted.
-
Well, like I said the choice is completley up to you.
-
@ Random: I see no problems with your character. Approved
-
Are we all going to be starting together in one big mesh or will we start as individuals or smaller groups? Maybe you'll address this when you start the actual play thread but my impatience got the better of me, so apologies for that.
I was going to say that the choice is up to you; you can start off solo if you please, or you can pair up with someone. The choice is up to you.
Also, is this going to follow the traditional order of the region, like Viridian City, Viridian Forest, Pewter etc... or is there room for diversity?
Well, it would be kind of hard to skip from Pallet Town in one post and end up in Goldenrod City the next, so I would say to stay in order (especially for my sake, since I havent played Pokemon in four years! XD), but if you can think of a plausible reason to do that, you're more than welcomed too. I can't promise the good health of your Pokemon tho. :-P
