6.Helena by My Chemical Romance - At first I despised this song because I was trying to be all anti emo and stuff but I quickly fell in love with it. I mean, it is undeniably good music! I love the video as well the whole gothic musical thing was cool. I'm not into the whole paint yourself white and wear black thing, but hey, anything's cool with me. 7.BYOB by System of a Down - Bring your own bombs. I probably only really love this song becase I come from a family of rabid System of a Down fans, but then again it is a just plain awesome song. Political mesage in a bottle, baby! The video was pretty cool too with the TV heads. 8.Boulevard of Broken Dreams Green Day - Okay, this does get a bit tiring after 15 mllion playthroughs, but I loved it before all the hype. The guitar solo is frikkin bad (in a good way) and the lyrics remind me of life. I don't so much like the video though. 9.Holiday by Green Day - Another great Green Day song. I like this one for the hidden political messages and stuff. Also, I love the background guitars. The solo rules as well. 10.Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day - Very good for a slow song. I love the melody and I like that it's very long and soothing. The video is very sad as well. DISCLAIMER: American Idiot was released last year and I have yet to hear St. Jimmy.
ok first if you didnt alredy get it get chobits his and her circumstances watch read or die its absolutely crucial after that watch berserk then azumanga dioh then you would have seen my absolute favorites some other goodies ive heard of would be fruits basket chrono crusades also you should take a look at final fantasy unlimited just too lose the edge of pure gaming the reason i am so zealous about this is beacause a similar thing happened to me happy animeing
Holy hell thats a lot. Okay, lets slow down. Wat is His or Her Circumstances? I think I will try Chobits, I've heard a lot about it. Read or Die I've seen and that kicks mondo ***. Berserk I like but it's too dark for me. I like more lighthearted stuff. Azumanga Daioh I might consider, I just don't like that there is so little storyline. I know I'm going to buy Fruits Basket thats already been determined, Chrono I'll consider, and FF I'll buy eventually just because it's FF. Anyone else?

Alright, around 1 year ago I picked up a PS2 controller, played Sly Cooper, and before I knew it I was completely uninterested in anime and had around 100 video games. In the meantime, anime has been booming and I've been missing out. Now here I am, one year and 100 games later and I want to get back into anime again. So... where should I start? I like anything with a good story and charachters. The charachters are most important for me. I like all genres.

Anime my holiday season anime /manga read/watch lists! yours?
Shoujo = anime/manga whose primary target audience is female. Of course, many of them have plenty of male fans as well, and in some cases the male fandom ends up being a lot more vocal anyway. The story is basically about Sora (the main character), who moves from Japan to America in order to fulfill her dream of joining the Kaleido Stage. It deals with her path to becoming a big-time star. She has to face hazing, rivalry and high-pressure auditions, while juggling several part-time jobs for extra money and practicing furiously to catch up with her peers. The focus is mainly on what goes on behind the scenes to prepare for performances, as well as the performances themselves, but there's other stuff too... in one episode, for example, her parents fly in from Japan to try and convince her to come home. ~Dagger~
XD I know what shoujo is, I just meant how is the show shoujo. Sounds interesting... I'll be sure to check it out. On a side note, I suggest you all check out King of Bandits Jing this holiday season. It's not much in the way if story or even action for that matter but it's very creative and different and quirky. Not to mention the art is beautiful. PS: Thanks again for the name change. -
Heh. Well, Kaleido Star is a fifty-two episode series about a circus (the Kaleido Stage) that's very similar in style & tone to the Cirque du Soleil. ADV has split it into two twenty-six episode seasons (with the first being called Kaleido Star and the second being called Kaleido Star: New Wings). The show is surprisingly addictive, and the well-animated acrobatic feats and stunts make it more exciting than many action series. Of course, it's also shoujo, so if Fruits Basket borders on being too girly for you... ADV's site is kind of out of date, but you can see a Kaleido Star trailer here. It's not really that informative, but at least it (sort of) shows you what the visuals are like. The entire first season is being sold as a thinpak collection. If I could magically chose one series to watch over either Thanksgiving or Christmas, I'd definitely pick Cardcaptor Sakura. Unfortunately, I'm still missing volumes 9 through 18, and I don't want to move forward with the series (I'm up to disc 6) knowing that I don't have the rest on hand. I should probably just bite the bullet and get volume 9 plus the second book set... but for some reason I really want the singles. I guess that's my inner completionist talking. ~Dagger~
Oh, I wouldn't worry about things being to girly, I'll watch anything, it's just getting to the counter that's difficult >_< How do you mean it is shoujo? What's the actual story like, I mean it can't just be a bunch of cirus guys doing stuff (or can it) Anyone have any suggestions on what to buy this holiday season? (C-mas is comin up, gotta have my list ready) -
Why do think people start fighting in the forums?
2010DigitalBoy replied to a topic in General Discussion
Usually it's because someone will explicitly ask that they not get a certain thing (i.e. help, opinions, critisicm, etc.) and thats exactly what they get. (Sorry if this has already been said, I didn't read back) -
Fine, whatever, but at least have the site administration pass the ides around. If one of ya'll gets some extra time, here's a way to occupy it.

:animedepr You guys just love shooting down every good idea that comes up, don't you? But seriuosly, how many people are going to actually click on the profiles? Its not like they'll think "oh they've changed their name, better check out the profile" becasue they won't know the person changed their name! Are you following cuz Im losing myself a little >_< I know its not a perfect idea but what harm could it do? And don't even say "the site will blow up"
If you won't buy it anyway, why even put it as an option? At any rate, my vote goes to Fruits Basket. :p I was originally considering re-watching Kaleido Star, but I ended up deciding to save it for Christmas. That'll be closer to the release date of Kaleido Star: New Wings. Since the third volume of Princess Tutu will also be coming out in January, I may re-watch the first and second discs of that series over Christmas as well. Of course, now I'm just getting ahead of myself--I'd better figure out what I'm watching this weekend, first. :animesmil ~Dagger~
Great, now you have officially damned me to buy Fruits Basket! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to suck it up. Who knows, maybe the store clerk will see my hair and think Im a girl XD What, exactly, is Kaleido Star? I've noticed that usually when I think a manga is abou space travel it turn out to be about pop stars >_ -
I've noticed that membes loveto change their names. Even I thought about having mine changed to Hug_Monster. But then I realised no one would realise I was the same guy. So I thought, OB should have some kind of section that lists the newest name changes! When someones name changes, you guys just put it in the notification place/forum/page/thing and we can all see it. C'mon, ya can't tell me this is a bad idea!

Hmm... well, I've only seen two of his movies, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke, but both of them were great. I loved Mononoke just because it was so mystical. It featured all kinds of strange and unworldly creatures and it was surprisingly bloody (not that I crave blood in anime, it was just kinda cool) I loved Spirited Away as well. The story was great and I love the charachters, though the whole thing with Haku
being a river
was weird. Once again, the blood was nice (god, now I sound like a gore freak.)

Ah, Dagger, you have reminded me of the many DVDs I own that I have yet to view! >_< Hm... I'll definetally watch Volume 2 of Generator Gawl. If I get one hell of a lot of spare time I might watch volume 1 of Haibane Renmei and Lain. I've also got Tokyo Babylon... hell no. I need a suggestion. I've got ten bucks and I'm thinkin Ill spend it on a manga. Should I buy Jing volume 5, Naruto vol 5, Ragnarok vol 3, or Fruits Basket vol 1? NOTE: If you choose Fruit Basket Ill probably not buy it cuz Ill be too embarassed to take it to the counter :animeblus -

I can't lock myself in my room as there's no lock. (this has been Tical's Random Complaint # 78) Anyway, Im usually one of the ones watching Frosty the Snowman. If I could afford to go out and buy manga just because it's christmas time, I'd... um... but a lot of manga because it was Christmas time! But if I could afford it, I'd probably buy the rest of Jing. That always makes me feel ready for a holiday. Especially when Jing dresses as Santa. -
Kakashi: no, I don't see it. Naruto: Come on, don't we look like the Gorillaz? Kakashi: My lord, this joke is bad.

XD You can never have too much Pokemon. Anyway, they don't exoect you to be bothered with it anymore. Pokemon will always be released because little kids watch it and there will always be little kids.

I canot draw. Period. At all. I mean, I can, but I suck so rediculously badly it's not even funny. I even tried to draw in the style of FLCL... didn't work. I'm THAT bad. People tell me I should stick to writing storylines where I'm good, but I refuse. I have to learn how to draw! I tried using those How To Draw Manga books but they always said to start with circles and I can never get the circles right! >_< Should I give up, or what?

Alright, what did you think the best singles all year were? You know, songs that come on the radio and get videos! 1.All These Things That I've Done by The Killers - First of all, while this song is rather slow, I can't help but love the music. Sure, it gets a bit repetitive, but I love it. The lead singer has a great voice, IMO, and I love how he makes it sound so country XD. Not to mention the video is quite possible the funiest I've ever seen. How do they manage to keep strait faces??? And lets not forget the big battle between The Killer Sluts and The Killers. 2.Suger We're Going Down by Fall Out Boy - I just like the overall upbeat tone of this song. The lyrics crack me up, especially the lines Oh, don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet Wishing to be the friction in your jeans. Once again, this song has an excellent video, depicing the love story of antler boy and the nice girl who's dad hates him but, alas! The dad is part deer himself! 3.L'Via L'Viaquez by The Mars Volta - It wouldn't surprise me if you never heard of this song, band, or video, but it was a great one. The video only holds a fraction of the actual song which is well over 12 minutes long and great, but the video is still awesome. Not to mention creepy, with rivers of blood, lots of skuls and some crazy little animations you may not notice at first. By far the best thing about this song is the insane guitars. Not to mention it's sexy. 4.Feel Good Inc. by The Gorillaz - Not only is this song great, but once you hear it you can't stop listening to it until you've heard it so many times that your ears ignore it when it comes on! The lyrics, just like every other song on the Gorillaz Demon Days CD make little to no sense, but they are still fun to sing. I love the transitions from rap to the soft guitar and keyboard melodies. Soothes the very soul ~_o Lets not forget th video with it's great computer animation and lots of corpses! 5.The Hand That Feeds by Nine Inch Nails - Mixing hardcore techno and Rock, my two favorite genres, you wind up with this. This song has a great guitar riff and I like the lead singer's voice. The video is okay, with the distorted image of the band playing, but the song is what's really cool. The lyrics are great as well. Bite the hand that feeds! I'll add more later.

Lack of common sense and lack of reasoning also annoy me. I also hate when people don't say please and thank you. I know, I'm a nerd, but still for the love of god people show some respect! :animesigh Also, I hate being ignored. Yeah, petty, I know, but like when I write poetry or a part of a novel and I try to get an opinion I usually post them on a few message boards, show them to my fiends and family and put them on fictionpress.com and not a single person gives me a real reply! I can't stand when someone spends all that time reading something I wrote only to say "thats good" or just not comment. I wrote it, you read it, now tell me what I need to do! "How am I supposed to be inspired to write more if I don't know if I'm doing good? ^sorry, bit of a rant. I had another but I forgot it when I wrote that :animeswea

Perfect guy/girl/whateverthehellIendupdating (you never know, I could end up with a frikkin squirrel) looks: I hate to be picky about looks, but if I had to choose the perfec girl I'd want one who was really cute, but knows how to be sexy. Like, she could be cute sometimes and sexy other times (not sure how to explain that one O_o). personality: The girl I want can't be shallow. I want a deep, meaningfull girl who doesn't necessarily have to be all that smart but... damn, its hard to be put into words >_
sensitive guys are hot.
Then I must be the sexiest man alive XD I rmrmbered a moment from X the Movie which made me want to cry. The big brother to Mezmerize has been released today and Im listening to it as I type this. So far it's pretty kick ***, the songs are really fast and have moe of an all out rock feel. So far the lyrics have kept the satyrical humor that we all should expect from System, and some of the songs are still beautiful and artsy. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet and mine is only a burned copy so I don't know the song titles, but so far I'm loving it. The song "I killed rock and roll" is the best thus far.
