Episode 19: Ha ha, poor Matsuda. Great to have an episode dedicated to him, though. He's quite a guy. Loved the
balcony stunt
. :animeswea He tries so hard to be useful, but he's always going to be a bit of a bumbling, happy-go-lucky idiot. :D

So I didn't get to say anything about episodes 17 and 18 because I was gone in Thailand. Very very cool. Even stopped by the Tokyo airport on the way over. ;) Anyway, enough of my rambling. Finally watched those two episodes, and is it just me, or has this series suddenly turned into a comedy? :animeswea Very interesting turn of events, but I'm finding it hugely entertaining. Anyway, some high points: The animation has been noticably lovely lately. :p The
Mr. Yagami fake-murdering his son
scene made me freak out... just a little. Also, I loved the whole
punching-each-other-out scene between L and Light
. Hilarius. :D That was some ultra-dramatic
flying across the room
. :animeswea Matsuda's MisaMisa-ing was also rather funny in a mildly annoying kinda way. :animeswea My heart also went out to Aizawa. :( Poor Aizawa. These Wedy and Aiba people also certainly look interesting... And very blonde. :D Anyway, I don't know where these crazy Yotsuba people came from, but I guess I'll find out more about them... Also, it's a little weird that
Light is so different now, but I suppose I do prefer the present him to the old him
.

Well, I've always been fairly leery about the whole "meeting people you met on the internet" thing, but I don't think it's always bad. I mean, my sister met one of her really good friends over the internet (fairly recently), who just happened to live in the same city as us. Yeah, I think if you have sufficient proof of their identity, there shouldn't be much of a problem. It's not like ALL the internet-goers out there are pedophiles. I'm sure there aren't THAT many. It's just important to have good judgment, and maybe get a second opinion of their legitimacy. Personally, I've never even really made any real internet friends... So I haven't met any. :animeswea But I wouldn't be completely opposed to doing it, one day.

Episode 16: Wow, what a turn of events. don't really know what Light is thinking... I actually found the whole
"discarding the Death Note"
thing rather confusing... I'm sure there's more to it than I am really understanding here... I guess I'll just have to keep watching to get a better understanding of this... Also, those were some pretty shweet acrobatics on Ryuk's part... Hee hee, him with his apple cravings. Light's father seems to be on the
brink of insanity
right now... And judging by the preview for episode 17, it seems that
he's about to go over the edge
. How unfortunate.
if this isn't
a face of absolute innocence,
then I don't know what is. ~Dagger~
It certainly is. I don't think I've ever seen anything more pathetic. But it was almost refreshing to see
him actually seem innocent
for once...

Heh, well it seems kind of late to comment on episode 15, but I will anyway. :D I was doing some hard core studying for exams, so I'm a little behind. :animeswea Anyway, very eventful episode. It's pretty amazing how
L completely turned things around like that. And the fact that he knew he was in danger in the first place... Light is in a completely different situation.
Things are picking up now. The ending was also very intriguing... Can't wait to see what'll happen.
-
Anyway--it was an awesome, awesome episode (and seeing the cliffhanger on which it ended filled me with the evil urge to giggle gleefully at those unfamiliar with the manga).
Mocking the ignorant! Curse you, Dagger! He he, jk, jk... Anyway, episode 14 was certainly very eventful... One of the funniest so far, for one thing. :D
Misa body slamming Light
was pretty much hysterical. And she can be one jealous girl... dangerously so. Anyway, yes, the ending is quite infuriating for a non-manga reader, such as myself, although
I very much doubt that this is the end of L
. I guess I'll just have to wait and see... :animeangr Also, I'm more than a little confused about Rem's gender... I actually find it rather sad that there aren't any characters displayed in said "flattering" light. I mean, everyone's got their flaws, but people have their good points too... But I guess the characters we're dealing with are all a bunch of nut jobs, anyway, so it's fitting, I suppose.
*tilts head* I'm finding it surprising that some of you are saying the story line was slow in this one
I dunno... Well, I said it seemed that not much happened, which isn't precisley true when you think about it, but that's just how it felt to me. Maybe it's just because the only really memorable part came right at the very end. :p
They took out the best line of all: in the manga, when they watch [spoiler']Misa walk up the stairs to Light's room, Sayu mutters under her breath that she can see her panties.

Ha! Wow. Well that just gives awkward a whole new meaning.
I wonder if we'll get the new OP in episode 14? There's definitely one coming soon, and apparently it's going to be this baby (

OOOOooo. I'm planning on going to my first ever Anime convension this summer. Might even be my first convension at all. I can't remember being at any other ones... Which is pretty sad. Maybe I should get out more. Anyway, it's a little local one called Ai-Kon, in good ol' Winnipeg, MB... I 'm planning on going with my sister and friend, and it better work out, because if it doesn't and I miss it I'll be pissed. :animeangr

So I managed to get my hands on episode 13. Hmm... Very interesting episode. Not a whole lot happened, but it was still entertaining. He he, Misa certainly is eager to please. I can't decide whether I think she's an idiot or not. She's just so all over the place. It seems she can do something stupid and smart at the same time. At least that's how it seemed to me. Light's mother and sister sure seemed surprised at
Misa's appearance
... Slightly awkward... :animeshy: And wasn't that
fake embrace
just the best? I suppose Light felt the need to prove what an excellent actor he is.
"See? I can hug people really dramatically. I'll have no problems pretending to be your boyfriend."
Ha ha... I actually found the whole
hugging scene
, while well animated, rather amusing, and the
creepy Light-smile
at the end was just the cerry on top. :p

Hmmm... Regrettably, I spend a lot of my spare time on the computer/internet (as I'm doing right now :animeswea ), but hey, we're all guilty of that, right? :animesigh Anyway, I love to draw, read, and play the piano, even though I don't get around to doing this as often as I'd like... Otherwise I'm watching TV or fansubs... He he. When I'm feeling adventurous I might even call up a friend and do something fun... Shopping (although I can only stand a restricted amount of this), bowling, tobogganing, etc. I also love playing Volleyball, and I've played on my school teams for the past few years, but I find that I really hate the competitiveness. Sometimes I just wanna play for FUN. You know, following the rules and everything, but just for fun. Meh, oh well. :animesigh

Oh man, this is the FUNNIEST SHOW EVER. :bellylol: I just finished watching this series today, and I have to say, I'm very sad that there are no more episodes for me to watch. :animesigh How I will miss my Ouran High School Host Club. :animecry: When I first started watching this series, I thought it was a little weird, but I soon got used to it and got REALLY into it, and soon it was just about my favourite anime, and I had to exercise self control in order to watch only one episode per day so it would last longer... This series is SOOO funny, and I would laugh my head off during every episode. Tamaki is absolutely priceless. My favourite character. :D Being as funny as it is, I was surprised at how well the more serious aspects were incorporated into the show. It was hilarious, but also very touching at times, and each member of the Host Club was given their own chance to be in the spotlight. I especially liked learning about Hikaru and Kaoru's story. At the beginning I was thinking "Oh. Another set of typical twins who are basically one unit and are exactly the same". Boy was I proven wrong! Best representation of twins I've ever seen! They're actually very different. While Tamaki is undisputedly my favourite character, I have a soft spot for Mori... He just a big teddy bear! :catgirl: I would have loved to find out a little bit more about him (since he only says "Yeah" throughout the whole series :animeswea ), but I think I like him because he's so reserved. Probably because I'm a bit that way myself. Just not to that extreme. :p I love all the characters anyway, though. :D As for the last episode of the series, while more than slightly cheesy, I actually really liked it. I thought it was a good ending. It rounds things off well, and I actually found it rather touching... I can deal with a little cheese. I was more than satisfied with the ending.

Episode 12 was a great episode. Very interesting to see
Light interacting with the "Kira Team"
, and to hear his reactions on everything. Yup, that had to be the most dramatic
fall-out-of-a-chair-at-the-mention-of-Shinigami
stunt I've ever seen. Ha ha, L. What a drama queen. Priceless. :bellylol: Misa, while very interesting, I find myself strangling in my mind. I just find her extremely annoying. Entertaining, yet annoying... Does that make sense? It's quite interesting to see the contrast between the gothic Misa and the model Misa. But I think I'd have a nervous breakdown if I had to spend the night in that room of hers. The story about
Jealous
was actually surprisingly touching. In my opinion they've done a great job of introducing Misa into the series. As for L, I love how weird looking he is! Tee, hee... What a guy, eh?

Okie dokie... Time to kick this thread back into gear. Here's another picture. Knock yerselves out. :p

Hmmm... I didn't actually meet anyone famous myself, but my aunt and uncle did meet Orlando Bloom while they were in the Bahamas. They were walking their dogs together. Well, they didn't even realize it was him right away, because he was wearing dark glasses. They mostly spoke to the fella he was with. But they said that it was probably for the best anyway, since they would've just said stuff like "Oh my daughter loves you!" sorta thing. Probably gets that all the time. :animeswea

Episode 11 was one of the most exciting episodes of this series that I've seen for a while. It sure hits you with a lot. Kudos to Chief Yagami for that sweet
entrance into the Sakura TV studio
. :p The fact that there are now
2 Kiras
was certainly an unexpected surprise for me. Things should now get very interesting... :shifty:
Misa
looks like a very interesting character. Can't wait to see what'll happen next.

Art Just A Random Question To All You Artists Out There
inactive replied to a topic in Creative Works
Hmmm... That's a good question. Well, I guess it mostly just comes naturally to me. It's in my genes. My mother is an EXCELLENT artist, and my dad's not half bad either. I didn't really realize that I was good at drawing until I was in about grade 5, but once I realized I could do it, I've done nothing but improve. It's absolutely amazing to compare my artwork now with the artwork I did a few years ago. I can't remember anything really inspiring me to start drawing. Like I said, it just kinda happened naturally. When I was in grades 5 and 6 I was really into fairies and fantasy, though. I started teaching myself to draw anime around the beginning of grade 7, after doing a bunch of online quizzes that had lovely anime images for the results. :animesmil It was around that time that I really got into watching anime, too, so I saw a bunch of different styles and stuff, and I was able to get more creative with my artwork. So I guess you could say that it was the internet that ultimately inspired me to get serious about drawing. :p Although anime is my favourite style to draw (it's the most fun :D ), I also do quite a bit of realism. I'm mostly into drawing people though. Anything else I just find dead boring. -
I have to say, I'm very intrigued by this. The trailer is absolutely lovely, and I think that this is something that could get me interested in Shakespere. ;) Even though they have taken quite a few major liberties, the orginal story of Romeo and Juliet is old news anyway. It's always interesting to see something from a completely different perspective. I definitely plan on checking this out.

GET OUT: Inu Yasha ? Inu Yasha His temper is uncontrollable, and he has a really annoying attitude. He'd probably destroy everything in our room, too, because he'd think everything was attacking him. Miroku ? Inu Yasha Although he's my favourite character in the show, I absolutely WOULDN'T be able to handle having him as a roommate. He's such a pervert. :animeswea I'd be terrified sleeping in the same room as him. Haro ? Gundam SEED Gah! I know this isn't actually a person, but I really can't stand that little guy. It would drive me up the wall. Light ? Death Note Well, I'd just be afraid that he'd suddenly decide that the world would be better off without me and kill me. Genius, I'm okay with, but Evil Genius? See ya later. Come on in: Athrun Zala ? Gundam SEED Apart from him being my favourite character in the SEED series, I also think I'd get along with him really well, considering that our personalities are similar in some ways. Haruhi ? Ouran High School Host Club This is just a girl that I can imagine myself being friends with. Not being the most girly girl myself (and also being very studious), I think we have a lot in common, and we'd get along well. She could also be my study buddy! :D Edward Elric ? Fullmetal Alchemist Well, for one thing I could amuse myself by taunting him about how short he is (being rather above average height, myself), but I'm also fond of his personality, and we could have in depth discussions about Alchemy and such. It would also be rather handy to have him around to mend things with his Alchemy, too.
Ich spreche Detusch! ...Aber nicht gut...aber...aber ich spreche Deutsch! XD Considering I'm just about halfway through my second year, I think I'm pretty good at it. ^^;[/color']
Tee hee, sweet, you can speak German! Hey, I've been speaking German for my entire life, so don't feel bad if you can't understand everything. :p
My only real suggestion would be trying to clean up the text lines and getting all the words (especially Weinachtentszeit) on one line instead of chopping them up. It sorta threw me off a bit while reading (I could pick up bits and pieces, gimme a break xD).[/color']
Yeah, I get what you mean about breaking up "Weihnachtszeit". It looked even worse if I didn't do that though... And I had to fit my text into a fairly small area, too... I guess I could have used a smaller font size, but it's too late now. :p Anyway, I gave Chiara her book the other day, and I think she liked it. Well, I'm really not all that good with kids...so she was probably more impressed with the book than she was with me. :animeswea Here are pages 2 and 3. Please, comment away!

Episode 10: The
tennis match
between L and Light was pretty exciting. We, once again, got to see the intellectual battle between those two. L finally put on some shoes, too. :p It's pretty ironic that Light's father fell victim to a
heart attack, that being Light's main "killing method",
but not at all surprising, considering the amount of stress he's been under lately. His deep words of wisdom about the
"power to kill" being what is truly evil
were also very---er...deep. :animeswea It's also pretty interesting that
L has told Light so much about himself, and the Kira case, but (since he doesn't know his name)
Light can't do anything about him. I've been watching Code Geass aswell, and, just for the sake of throwing it out there, I like Death Note way more. :animesmil

Well, I didn't really think that the story was that relevant, but if you really want to know, here's the translation: Chiara's Adventure in Christmas-land There was once a little girl named Chiara. She was blond with blue eyes, and she loved Christmas. Every year she would get very excited around Christmas time, and she could hardly wait to find out what Santa Claus would bring for her. Heh, heh. There you go. :D

Recently I created a Children's book entitled "Chiaras Abenteuer im Weihnachtsland (Chiara's Adventure in Christmas-land)" for my German class. We had to make a Children's book for a child in grade 2, incorporating them and the information we had about them into our stories. My kid was named Chiara, as you might have guessed. Anyway, I worked EXTREMELY hard on this project (actually causing me to get so stressed that I took a day off school :animedepr ), so I thought I would post it here and get some feedback/constructive criticism. I don't suppose that very many of you can actually read it, but that's okay. If you can, great. I'd love to know what you think of my story. Also feel free to comment on the layout and such. I suppose I'll start off with the title page and page 1. I'll post the others as I deem appropriate. (There are 15 pages in all, excluding the title page.) There you go. I did the title page last, so I was basically feeling drained of all creative energy by the time I got around to it. So that explains why it's so boring. :animeswea I like page 1, but there's something a bit odd about her face... Oh well. By the time I coloured it in it was too late to fix it anyway. Oh yeah, and if you can see weird blotches sillhoutted on the pictures, that's because I drew on both sides on the papers, and my scanner picked up some of the other picture showing through. :animeswea So, waddaya think?

Man, I love this show! I think it's pretty great that the Western world has produced something so anime-resemblant. Ooooo...we're evolving. :D Anyway, I'm actually only just over halfway through the second season, because I watch it on YTV, which is ages behind Nickelodeon. :animeangr But I can say that I've been extremely impressed with this show thus far, and I look forward to watching it every Monday. :D My favorite characters are Zuko and Sokka, with Uncle Iroh fairly close behind. Zuko because he's a fairly complex character, who has had some difficult times in his life, and a horrid father/sister. It's good character development. He's determined and strong, although very stubborn and rash. I've just always liked his character. Sokka's a great character 1) because he's HILARIUS 2) because I can relate to him in a lot of ways--we kind of have the same mind-set. A bit pessimistic, for one thing. :animeswea And Iroh...he's just such a great guy. Wise and good-natured. I love the comedy in Avatar. It's just really great, clean fun. It's not overdone. It's just right for me, and I laugh my head off during practically every episode. I also agree that the animation is excellent, especially compared to some other North American cartoons. Especially the fight scenes. Very elegantly done. So, I may be way behind everybody in seeing the episodes, :animesigh but at least I can still appreciate how great the show is. :p
-
Episode 9 was pretty intense. I have to say,
L revealing himself to Light
was the last thing that I expected to happen. Well, you know, since I haven't read the manga, I'm pretty ignorant. :p But watching the anime is just getting better and better. I was completely surprised when
L was there
all of a sudden. But the way
he acted in public, around all those dressed-up college students
, was absolutely hilarius. I loved his speech. :animeswea It was also very...different...to see
Light lose control
like that. That was a very
good move on L's part
though. I really didn't see it coming. Anyway, I'll be impatiently awaiting the next episode. ;)
GASP no one has mentioned digimon even once!!!!!! That was dot.//hack before it even existed. Honestly I think that anime was better than most mainstream stuff now(fma,flcl,inuyasha,ect...). This is probably the only series I miss. I still watch it sometimes and I always play the game. I sorta miss pokemon and such but non of those anime's really had the amount of depth digimon did and i'm upset it is now thought of as a series that ripped of pokemon. Now they have pretty much sold out and beame the image that people have tried to give it which is even more sad. Sigh good bye digimon. :animecry:
You obviously missed it in my post then. ^^ I mentioned Digimon, and I agree with you, it was so awesome! And everybody thought it ripped off Pokemon... How terrible. :animedepr I LOVED that show.
