I'm just really happy that this year I actually had money to get other people a gift. -From my sister, who was my secret santa, I got a [B]25$ Zune [/B]card that was hidden behind a box of [B]tropical Mike & Ikes[/B]. She almost had me, but I kept my cool. So far, I bought [B]Frances the Mute [/B]and[B] De-loused [/B]by the Mar Volta. I also bought Common's [B]Universal Mind Control[/B], which was a little different to me than his other albums. I'm saving my left over points for a rainy day. -My grandparents sent me and my sister's [B]$50[/B] each. I'm really thankful for that. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it right now, so I'm putting that into my savings account. -My girlfriend was really generous. Initially, she bought a few of her gifts from a fraudulent dealing sword website earlier this month. She was going to get a sweet looking dragon dagger for me, but sadly she figured she got scammed last week. I really hope she gets all of it sorted out soon. She had to get all of her shopping done on Christmas eve. Luckily, she managed to get all she needed to shop for, and she got me my first [B]lava lamp[/B]. Yes, that means I'm officially a man now:mrt: -I was also happy that I got a gift from my girlfriend's mom. I will admit that it was a little awkward waiting outside with mostly a lot of elderly people, but my neighborhood is genuinely friendly. Very suburban though. I'm not really to fond of the expression, "ready for a black president", but that's a different rant of mine. I understand that the last successful presidential assassination was fairly recent; almost fifty years ago. I am honestly depressed when I personally see people's strong belief that Obama will be assassinated. Like right after the acceptance speech assassinated.There will always be racism, prejudice, and supremacy, but people need to understand how extreme the secret service can be as well. Yeah, there are going to be way more attempts, but honestly what kind of group of people or person is going to be able to pull it off successfully in this day and age? I'm just praying right now that D3 gets a few of my friends off Final Fantasy XI. D3 is looking more in dept then just spamming one spell and the occasional buff. I'm really looking forward to the hot-keys, and the Witchdoctor's play style seems reason enough for me to want to buy this game. And lastly, the boss fights are starting to actually look epic.[/COLOR][/FONT]

T.V. and music are great, but it does have a general influence on people. Everyday a person has to face what the media tells them what to look like, how to act, what to listen to, what to watch, what to fear (terrorism, politics, gay marriage?, and gas prices), what to buy, and to generally become a consumer whore. I thought the media was suppose to be a great stream of information, yet the average person doesn't know what's going on in Darfur or the sweatshop situation in Saipan. I don't think the media is going to one day kill us all, but I do believe it is something to look into.[/FONT][/COLOR]
