1. Alright, so I will admit that I previously posted this topic on another website but there it got off topic almost immediately. I am hoping it goes better here. Sorry if it has been done before. So recently started thinking about two of the best games I have played in recent memory--Persona 4 and Okami--and I realized that these games have one very big thing in common. They both incorporate mythology (in this case Shinto mythology) in brilliant and creative ways. Both of these games caused me to go and read up on Shinto mythology and that made me even more impressed with how the writers fit in these stories. So I was wondering, what is your opinion of the use of real world mythology in games? What games have done it well and what games have not done so well?
2. Well five years ago I would be 18 and just starting college so I might tell myself, "Reconsider that religion major, the economy is going to crash and you won't find a decent job with it." Then myself would sigh and sign up for a philosophy major.:animeswea
3. I've been wandering around theOtaku for a while now but just finally signed up for the forums. My real name is Tylor so that gives me the odd distinction of having an obscure anime character with my name: Justy Ueki Tylor from The Irresponsible Captain Tylor. If you'd like to know anything at all about me, just ask away.
4. Well since almost all of my anime comes from Netflix I doubt any of it is unlicensed but two of my old favorites come to mind: Pani Poni Dash and Genshiken. Of course for all I know they could be wildly popular and I'd be oblivious to it.
5. Right now I have started watching Naruto via Netflix. In all the time I've watched anime I've never gotten around to it till now and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I just finished the second DVD today and though it's not my favorite anime at all it's pretty cool. Naruto's character kind of annoys me but most of the others I find interesting and I think the battle scenes are top notch and very creative. I think I will stick with it at least through the first story arch.
