I've been here about six months. In June it'll be a year. Things have changed, definately. I remember I was mainly in Dragonball for like, the first two months.... then I eventually came over to GD and pretty much stayed there.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that.... Definately comfort your mom. I guess, a way to maybe help get rid of/constrain your anger, is to just focus your will to be hers. Whatever will make her happy, let that govern what you do. I don't really condone attacking the dude (although frankly I wouldn't blame you a bit if you did), as then you would sink to his level in lack of self-control. Really show that you can be and will always be a far, far better man than him. I don't know what I would do if I were in your situation... or your mother's at that...... just try to overcome this and you'll be better for it in the long run. And be strong for your brother, you might have to be the father-figure for him for a long time.... I know you can get through this. :)

I dun know about the whole bit about the manga or the movie being put out first..... I haven't seen/read either. I [i]have[/i] seen some slips from the manga (thank you Tori ;)) and I have to say that it is the most beautiful manga I've ever seen. I certainly wouldn't mind reading the manga if I could actually get my hands on it.

Let me restate the question: Is a child really ready? It's not fair to them, whether they 'want it' or not. My younger sister could really really want to go shoot up heroin. She could know how to strap her arm and cook up batches of heroin like the best of them and all that stuff. Would I really care about her if I said, 'well, you seem to know what you're doing, okay go ahead, this is what you want'? She might go and do it anyway when she's older, but at least then her body would be a little better able to take care of itself, and hopefully by that time she wouldn't want to anymore, 'cause she smartened up and saw what a stupid thing that would be.

The two are different in that with statutory rape, consent isn't an issue. If the person(s) involved are below a certain age, it's illegal, regardless of whether or not they say it's okay. For example, most of the states view the age of 13 as still being a child- which is true, they're certainly not adults- and are not mature enough to truly know what they are letting happen to their bodies. That's where all of these children giving birth to children situations are coming from. They are simply not responsible enough to handle the consequences. Therefore, If someone has sex with a minor in that offense (boy or girl) it is statutory rape, and statutory rape can be tried as a capital offense in some cases. Very serious...

Well, yeah. Sorry for your friend, but it's still breaking the law. It doesn't matter if the girl said 'yes' or whatever..... she's still 13.... 13!! That's considered to be a child still, and she is. Her parents have the right to press charges.

Hmmm........... I've seen some good movies before, but I don't really have favorites. Now, Lord of the Rings is a movie I will probably never get tired of watching, so that's saying something. The Emperor's New Groove is another that I don't get tired of (heheh, Krunk rules) lessee........ The Patriot is really good, and I guess there are a couple others. I just can't think of them right now.
