1. :therock: Piro I must say that, although I adore capuchin monkies myself........... the feces-throwing just doesn't do it for me. :whoops: I have a BEAGLE named LIZZY and she's sooooo cute....... and she's sooooooooooooo STUPID!! :drunk: definately not a Snoopy, anything but. I have pictures but they're on my other computer. And as a side note I LOVE rabbits. Rabbits are my favorite animal, lizards come in second, and non-poisonous snakes (like, the kind you can safely own for a pet) are my third favorite. Dogs in general are okay, and cats........................:shifty: well, um, some are okay......:blulaugh: :blueshift
  2. Ah! Snow! I love snow  I used to live in Utah, and it snows a lot there (at least it did when I lived there). You're lucky, we don't really get snow in Georgia :blueshift anyways, make many snowmen for me................ and a snow fort..... *sniffles*
  3.
Originally posted by Voodookanaka It didnt work out.....:( thanx for the vote of confidence...... were u really in love? have u fallen in love since? can u still live without them? :(..........................:bawl: :bawl: :bawl: I hate her for doing this to me, and yet I love her for being her and doing this to me. I know nothing can ever become of us though because i hurt her so much when I broke up with her.
>< sorry. Yeah, I was in love. I found out later (later:blueshift ) that he was, too. I haven't fallen in love since then. But that's just because I haven't found anyone else that's worth all that trouble :blulaugh:. And I'm young- 17- I still have plenty of time left to look. And yeah..... I'm living without him. Heh, he's in another country right now, Mexico. But see, after a while, things just kinda...... settled....... we still talk off and on throught letters..... and all in all, it's best this way. And I know how you feel! I HATED him for a while, because of what I was feeling. And I knew that nothing could ever be the same.... and it isn't... but, things happen for a reason. I'm now confident that there's someone better for out there. Just keep your chin up, you'll get through it.
  4. good luck Adam. I had my exams thursady and friday. I got 4 A's and a B, but on two of them.... I dunno if I was so lucky...:blulaugh:
  5.
Originally posted by Voodookanaka aint that the truth. I left her because of it, but I still feel it all the time, worse than ever.......... she has no idea, and I cant tell her....i just cant bring myself to, shes my best friend, even when I left her and made her cry, it crushed me, and yet shes still my best friend.........I hate me.:bawl: never fall in love...the moment u feel something run away like mad!
lol!:bellylaug that's what wrong with me; I've never run! I'm sorry you're in a rut, I hope you are able to make things right within yourself. You know....... your situation sounds... scarily familiar to one that I was in a while ago. He and I were like, BEST friends, but........... yeah, it didn't turn out good (and I cried). We're okay now though...
  6. Well, haven't you ever realized that it's the area of the heart that hurts or feels like it's going to explode whenever you get those intense emotions?? If everyone got those feeling in the feet, then people and songs would go around saying 'oh, my broken foot' 'that :cussing: broke my foot!' 'it hurts to have a broken foot'. Heh, that's kinda comical. Anyway, you get my point (I hope :toothy: :drunk: )
  7.
Originally posted by Voodookanaka I just wrote a huge essay on my thoughts but crappy aol d/c me, so ill just say, love is the worst and best feeling in the world. although I used to be believe it was just the creation of ideologists and functionalists in society ...I now believe otherwise...either ive subconciously fallen for it.........or....ah screw it.....im in love...all i ever think about is her, nothing can distact me!!!!!!!!:bawl: :bawl: :bawl: :(
heh, *pats Voodoo on the back* I know how you feel, when the world is :hippy: when you're around them and you're :crying: when you're not. *sigh* It'll be okay. :whoops: :D
  8. Love love love......... hmm. :lecture: Well, I personally have never been in love. I've not put myself or allowed myself to have that opportunity because I'm too young to do anything with it anyway. I think true real love should result in marriage. Can anyone really come up with a concievable alternative when you've found the most absolutely wonderful person who thinks and feels the same way about you? Although that truly unending love is almost unfathomable to me, I know it's possible, which is why I'm willing to wait for however long it will take for me to find that 'special' person. on that note, I'd also like to say that I think that it is possible to have more than one 'ideal' person per person. Like, I've heard people say, 'well what if the one you're supposed to marry gets run over by a train, are you going to be all alone then?' I think that there are a couple of people out there who just rate really high on the compatability scale, and hopefully you'll run into at least one of these before you die. Great thought, eh? :whoops: Anyway, we as people aren't meant to be alone- for biological reasons or otherwise. That thwarts the whole plan of happiness! And yeah, there is such a thing, regardless of how bad your life has sucked thus far. No one has it easy all the time, and no one is doomed to a fate of knowing nothing but pain, either. I know that a lot of marriages end in divorce- that doesn't mean ALL marriages end in divorce. It's up to those two individuals to make it work, no one else. I myself have a rather bitter viewpoint on marriage myself. I can think of at least three important women in my family that have had to go through :cussing: because of the things their husbands did to them. And you know, for that I could just be like 'well since that happened to them, it's enevitably going to happen to me'. But that isn't logic, and I still have an optimistic view that their life is not my life, and that hopefully I will be married someday to a guy that loves me and all that good stuff. *looks over post* :babble:

Okay, this is my opinion on LP. (oh yeah, btw TN, Chester does have a wife) Well, I think that Chester Bennington is a good singer, good vocalist. Their drummer isn't too bad, but not too great. Mike Shinoda, their 'rapper' *cough*talker*cough* needs to quit. And sorry, but Mr Hahn isn't all that great. I can't stand track 11 on their cd. I just don't like it, doesn't do anything for me. It's not gosh-awful-you-SUCk but it's kinda close. I've heard better. My and a friend of mine have this theory: if LP keeps Chester, Rob (drums), and Brad (guitars), they'll get REAL big, they just need to ditch the extra baggage. Anyway, I guess they're okay. I like to listen to them, but I don't hale them as my favorite band.

  11. Aphex Twin................ omg I remember those videos!! geez, that was like............ a long time ago! I remember after watching one of them,.. I think it was Come to Daddy, I wanted to do this: :crying: weeeeeiird Anyway, Chop Suey is just cool. I like the whole person-moving-through-other-person deal. It's just a concert setting and party for cryin out loud! That song was stuck in my head yesterday..... :babble:
  12. lol, I know what you mean LM, it's like an on-going episode of the Three Stooges. heh:laugh: anywho................. now, I have done plenty of stupid stuff. Sadly, for all of you, I can't remember half of them. OH, ....hehe...... I remember a couple of years ago, it was first period in school, and I was talking/laughing/being disruptive in class. Erm, I had been laughing myself silly the whole time, and had eventually.... aquired the need to use the restroom. So, I tell my friend, 'no, stop! I'm serious, don't make me laugh anymore!' Well, guess what happened! She said like, one thing, and I........ lost my nerve.  I told her what happened and she just about fell out, and I barrowed someone's jacket and went to call home for another pair of jeans. -___- ** That's the first thing that came to mind. I've also tripped over myself, I'll stumble when I'm standing still- like my leg will give out and it'll look like someone kicked me. I've walked into poles before as well. And I always walk into things with my right hip. I think it's a balance problem..... and that really, really hurts! :drunk:
  13. Bad habits......... my punctuality needs work. I'm often late if I go somewhere. Procrastination is another one. Tapping on things, or beating on things...... fidgeting in general also. IMPATIENCE! I'm very critical of myself and others, I always scruntinize to the point of ridiculousness. Obsessive compulsions, small ones. Thinking aloud I can get verrrrrry laaaaazzzy popping my gum >< (don't hit me!) :D
  14. Here's #3 of my famous Choice and Opinion Survey. 1. Is there any good left in the world??? Post reasons if you want to. Yes. If the earth was completely evil, it would have been destroyed by now. Think about it. 2. What do you think is the most dangerous thing in society?? And please keep it coherant. Ignorance. From ignorance stems most of the follies that corrupt society, such as racism, discrimination, materialism, etc. 3. Do you still believe in "Jolly ol' St. Nick" ..... :toothy: ... :therock:  (what do YOU think??) 4. Should science mess around with religion??? Eh? science can do what it wants. It doesn't matter. 5. Is it morally wrong to kill a person if you were told to??? Hmm..... in a religious prospective, if you were commanded by God to do so, then I guess not (in some instances, it has been necessary for the greater good that the evil should perish). Sooo, it would depend on the authority that tells you to do the killing. War is evil through and through, and even in war, killing is wrong, I think, even though it is almost always unavoidable in the circumstances (that or die). But like, a hired henchman? no. 6. Is this saying right: "The World is a safer place." Post reasons if you want to. Erm,....... safer than what??! Oh, living on Venus? Sure. 7. What is worse?? Hatred or anger?? Post reasons if you feel like it. Well, they're both one in the same pretty much. If you have one, you have the other, or one leads to the other. Both ought to be avoided. 8. If people say you're rich, do you brag about it or just say: "I'm in the upper-middle class." (Heh, that's what I say when people say I'm rich.) Heck no I don't brag about it! I'm not proud of it, no reason to be; it's my parents' money and not mine anyway (I never see a bit of it). And we're not necessarily rich. Well, if my parents only had me and one of my siblings instead of FIVE kids they have to provide for, then yeah, we'd had more wriggle room money-wise. We're very fortunate, but I don't like saying we're "rich".
  15. Hey, it's no problem! I'm not trying to necessarily convince you; I'm just stating my views in response to what you say. hehe, yeah, I can agree to disagree, I'm not trying to change you or anything. :)
  16.
Originally posted by liamc2 wow, you could mention that in the new era
lol, :D I doubt they'd take it. Besides, I'm just spitting this out of my 17-year-old brain, I doubt it makes sense to a lot of people here. But......... you know, that you mention it, that'd be a pretty sweet job- writing for the new era or something. hey, thanks for the idea. :babble: :D

Well, you say this, but people here have said that they are above believing in something higher?? It's contradicting. You're exactly right, humans are mere and miniscule against our universe and other universes yet discovered. So, where is human's place in feeling superior to anything?? Humans in their natural state are not so wonderful as a lot of people would like to think. Humans are not beyond the need of help. Any who are too prideful for the reliance on something that is surely greater than we are is naive and cannot see a greater picture. However we are not "nothing", we are something and we are part of a plan. Our part is not finished yet, and the plan is not a short one. And, I believe it was you who said something like, 'who can claim the right to answer God's will' or whatever. The ONLY people EVER who have had the proper and correct authority to be God's seer and revelator are His prophets. God knows all, and he knew that the bible would eventually fall into the wrong hands and become imperfect over time. Now, He could have very easily put out his hand and prevented the evil people or whoever from doing that, but then he would have intervened with our agency, which is what enables us to grow, in making our own decisions: good or bad, and suffering the consequences. I don't have any doubt that the real, unaltered versions of the various prophets' records were true, without flaw. Why? If they themselves were to have flawed His work, then He would have stopped it, since it was a direct partnership between the two, and therefore God would have had every place to do so. But direct intervention with the corruption of doctrine pretty much stops there. I mean yeah, God most certainly could have stopped all people from corrupting the ancient records of the bible and everything would be la-de-da now, but then there would be no opposition. Opposition is how we humans grow. I have said before, maybe in other threads, that there are more than just one text out there. One has already been translated and is known as the Book of Mormon. What makes this without flaw of doctrine? God would not allow it. He would not allow his prophets that were on ancient America, who wrote records that compile into the Book of Mormon, to defile or error insomuch that His message would be distorted. If this were the case, in which God would foresee anyway, he would have it be that His record in some way or another be to His liking, the truth. Since the actual text called the Book of Mormon is true, and it has transcibed once, meaning it hasn't gone through a slew of 'all-knowing' scholars who threw in their two cents, it is still in its original state of truth. Now, the B of M has been translated to different languages, but it is still pure, because if the translations began to become corrupt by human error, God would have it stopped, by some means. We have a prophet today, and this would be possible. In essence, the true will of God is expressed by His prophets. They do see and speak to God and Jesus Christ, so they would know better than anyone.
Originally posted by Anti Actully if history is any teacher...which it is...then christanty will poubably die out...one day in the future our great great great grand children will proubably be wondering what the 'ell we were thinking when we though about this stuff...course they might not be.... here's a question...what if all the religons are right...? it could be very possible... as far as the bible goes...was it origonally written in...o.O well I know latin but something before that like hebrew or something...I can't remember....and I got a question...why does everyone think Jesus was white...?...he wasn't...he was more like an arab...I don't care if you are god if you live in the dessert your gettin a tan!!...I believe the man exsisted as to the miracles he preformed...who knows...coulda been an act of some god/dess or coulda been just a human/human spirit who was more evolved...
I think a lot of religions have some truth in them. I'm open to see just how much everyone has or doesn't have in common, especially when comparing them to what I believe. It actually helps me, because while learning about one other religion, I somehow also learn about my own, or how certain things fit and where the differences come in. Anyway, yeah, I guess a lot of the bible was written in latin and Hebrew. Latin and Hebrew especially in the New Testament. There are probably more languages in the Old Testament, like Egyptian for one. As for Jesus being 'white', he's Jewish, so he'd look like whatever a Jew looked like back then. He probably had a tan (lol) I don't know. I think you could probably find out more about that if you were to look at where the different civilizations were at this time, and if some of a different 'tint' were in the area of present-day Israel. Also, it's just a painter's opinion. I've seen pictures of Jesus blonde. Altough I don't think that's possible, w/ Scandinavians so far up north, I don't ever recall them journeying so far down south. Interesting topic...
  19. erm.................... *looks at the picture...* I think I'll remain neutral for now.... seeing as I still have no clue what exactly this thing is... or much about it. I wouldn't get on. I'll walk thanks.
  20.
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig Who officially compiled the Bible?
Over time, different monks gathered the writings and had at them. Some of the manuscripts no doubt fell into the wrong hands. I'm not sure if there is a one particualr person who first compiled the bible. There are TONS of different ones. For example, the King James version (the one I read) was compiled or whatever to his liking; I suppose he oversaw what was put in it or something. That would be something interesting to do more research on, eh? :)
  21.
Originally posted by Darkness Let me throw this into the equation: The bible was not the first book or writing ever found. In a mythology class I took last semester, we learned about some of the earlier writings. And the ironic thing is that there are connections leading directly from ancient indo-european(sp?) writing that explains the origin of many religions. For ex. the egyptian gods all had animal heads right? That is connected to the fact that it was a period of time when some greek gods were hiding themselves from Typhoeus(sp? again). And there is even writings linking disciples and their writing of the bible to greek myth. I remind you, this writing is like linear script b, which is far before the bible's time in the lime light. How do you figure it all in? Furthermore, The greek gods are now looked at as myth. Who is to say that won't happen to the god we worship? Ask your pastor, preacher, reverand or whoever questions outside of their bible, and I bet they probably can't answer. When you follow a book, of any sort, there are always limitations. How good is religion to you then?
Of course the bible isn't the only scriptural writing out there, and the bible was never necessarily 'found' all nice and compiled as is now. There are a lot of ties to a lot of things that many people don't know about. Although what exactly you are getting at in your first paragraph is fuzy to me.... what point were you making? Some of the disciples' writing is Greek myth?? Well, it can't be a myth if it's staring at you in the face. Granted it's been altered in some form or another, but it's still there. What kind of limitations are you speaking of? Limitations of....... understanding? Knowledge? Truth? Depends on the book and the person(s). Perhaps the person isn't quite smart enough, or rather doesn't actually want to learn in the first place. And then, because of their own limitations/short-comings, they blame the book or whatever because they don't understand it. A student in algebra II refuses to learn the algebra because they don't understand the text book or like what it says. Then when they fail the class, they in turn say that it is the algebra book's fault for their failing. Is the algebra book wrong? Would the school board allow it to be distibuted if it was full of error and incomprehensible? I highly doubt it. Thus, it is the same with many people and the bible, or any scripture for that matter. Heck, anything! And that is where your limitations come in: the people. Scripture is supposed to serve as an instructional guide. If you choose to not follow or look at a map on the interstate, you're as likely to end up lost as you are to remember to take the right turn so you don't end up in Canada or something (or whereever relates to you). This is how good religion is; or how it ought to be. Whether or not yours or whoevers is like this, I dunno, it's not my problem.
  22.
Originally posted by SSJ2 Gohu Yeah, it does get tiring after a lil bit (imagine 2 years of doing this, whew hard work, but I'll be older then) but I was looking forward to it when I saw it, it should be fun. *gets all excited* Now for some questions...... Anybody?? Oh I looked into EFY 2002 and sign ups are Jan 7(or something around there). I think I'm going to go to the GA one!!!!!!
I know what you mean, I've been like, the only one in my seminary class that gives a hoot, so whenever Mormons come up (and, oh yes, in the Southern Baptist-dominated south, we do) I'm always the one that gets the questions. It's been like that since I started highschool (I'm a junior now). Sign ups are in January??! :nervous: geez louise, I dunno if I can get $300+ by then! See, since my parents paid for me to go the last three years, I have to pay for myself, and they pay for my sister. I haven't had time to get a job yet! *is worried* ooh boy, I better start lookin'...... and yeah, we'll be going to the Atlanta session.
  23.
Originally posted by SSJ2 Gohu I understand! But I'm LDS like you, so I kinda cheated. But I did do a brief description of the Book of Mormon. But only telling of where and what. but if anyone would like to know more of the Book of Mormon fell free to ask, if you did I would do a happy dance or jig as well.
You did?? *goes back and reads* Yep, you sure did. I musta skimmed and missed that. sowwy :D You know, it feels good to not be alone in these kinds of threads all the time. It becomes drudgery after a while (I'm sure you can relate:rolleyes: ;) )
  24.
Originally posted by D. Dark I can control my lucid dreams really well. I tell my mind what to think of, and up pops an image of it. I like having a hyperactive imagination, cos it lets explore parts of your mind, and make up wierd stuff, like putting up this thread!! Interesting fact no.3: Did you know that if you dream in colour, you are mad (Apparently. That's what my Science teacher said anyway)
mad? mad as in angry or mentally disturbed? lol Well, I've always dreamt in color......... soooo..... I guess I'm one of the two, eh?;)
  25. liamc2, I'm in the Macon GA stake (USA :)) and yeah, I left out the first line; I was trying to be as brief as possible (and to anyone who is so painfully curious, the first line of that scripture is "O that cunning plan of the evil one" i.e. Satan. If you don't know what I'm talk about go to page 3 of this thread). Heh, it's another Mormon! yay! :excited: :excited: :excited: I thought my sister and I and SSJ2 Gohu were the only ones. Anyway.... Some things in the King James bible do contradict themselves (that's why we have the JST..... remember?) But if things in the bible do contradict themselves, it's because of the flaw of man. What my point is and what I'm getting at is God and Jesus Christ are perfect. They are, and they are the supreme rulers of our universe. Yes, we were created in the image of them. We are not, however, perfect. We are flawed, and through an extensive discussion I could go into pages and pages of how and who and why we are saved and a whole bunch of stuff about being 'saved' and attaining salvation are different, etc. etc. etc. Obviously, I'm just going to stick to the point. Since humans are flawed, they have therefore corrupted the good and simple, plain and precious truths of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Hence, the bible. It has been changed, edited, passages deleted, added, and is not the perfect text. It is still a good text overall, but it is not in a once perfect state without error. However, there is a text that has only been transcribed once from its original form, and therefore it is perfect in its teachings, remaining undiluted by decieving hands. In fact, the only changes made at all were punctuation; like commas and periods (since it is unlikely that these were included in Egyptian short-hand). This is the Book of Mormon. I'm not going to go into explaination of this, since as of yet it hasn't been brought up until now (well, I did quote a scripture from it... but that's beside the point). But if someone actually wants to know more (heh, I'll do a happy dance or a jig if that happens) then go ahead and ask. But anyway, I've rambled enough. Hope I've made sense.
