I recently saw an ad for the new game in the Namco Tales series in my Shonen Jump. I wonder how Tales of the Abyss will compare to Tales of Symphonia. I recently beat that game and I loved it so much. So how will Tales of the Abyss be? Thoughts? I think that you can move in every direction in battle in it.

Welcome to the Hardwired Technical Help thread. In here you'll find helpful links and information on how to solve some common problems with computer and video game systems. And, if you can't find anything that solves your problem, this is the place to ask for more specific help. Please note, however, that this is not the place to ask for gameplay help. Use GameFAQs for that. Thanks to Red and Bombu for the original links and information. Video Games Tech Support and Information Links Nintendo Tech Support Nintendo Wi-Fi Tech Support PlayStation Tech Support X-Box/360 Tech Support Computers Spyware Spyware comes in many forms and can do a variety of things to your computer. Some range from startup icons (in the bottom right hand corner, next to the time, in Windows) that monitor your internet activity and pester you to download/buy things, others put toolbars in internet explorer or sit quietly and give certain websites information about your internet activity. Most spyware isn't harmful to your computer, just annoying and a waste of resources. There are two good programs out there that can remove spyware easily (I've included direct download links, these programs cause no harm to computers whatsoever and contain no advertising) - AdAware is a useful and easy-to-use spyware removal tool. After downloading, installing and then opening it, click "scan now". Unless you want to customise your scanning options (such as only scanning certain folders), click on "use custom scanning options". Otherwise, click on "perform smart system scan" and then "next" in the bottom right. After AdAware has finished scanning your registry and folders it will come up with a list of spyware programs it has found. Unless you think it's wrongly distinguished a particular file as spyware, right click on one of the little boxes on the left and click on "select all objects" and then "next". AdAware will then remove the spyware files you have selected. Spybot Search & Destroy is a little more advanced than AdAware, but in some respects better at finding spyware. Note: If you have AdAware installed along with Spybot S&D - AdAware may 'find' spyware located in Spybot's folder. This isn't actually spyware, but records and backups (that don't work anymore) that Spybot keeps, so don't think that Spybot is a piece of spyware, as it's not. Also, if you have Download Accelerator Plus installed, Spybot will distinguish the adverts in the program as spyware. Deleting them will prevent DAP from working, so uncheck them after the scan. After installing Spybot, open it and click on "check for problems". Spybot will then scan and give you a list of the things that is has found on your computer as spyware. You can choose which you want to keep (such as DAP, if you want it to continue running) by unchecking the little boxes next to each listed file. After you've done this, click on "fix selected problems". Sometimes Spybot will try to create a system restore point. You can prevent this if you wish, but because Spybot detects registry exploits (which Adaware doesn't), it's advisable that you do to allow yourself a chance to restore should you get rid of the wrong file. Virii/Worms I recommend taking both of these scans, as sometimes one or the other is unable to detect or clean certain virii. TrendMicro's website provides a free online virus scan which will require you to say "yes" to the download popup window that comes up, so don't be alarmed, it's just the scanning engine downloading part of itself onto your computer so it can run online. You can choose which drives on your computer you wish to scan, and the scanner can either automatically clean files of virii or you can choose to have it ask you at the end of the scan. Panda Software's free online scanner is pretty much the same as above, but as mentioned before, can sometimes find and clean virii that TrendMicro's scanner is unable to. It will also require you to download the engine onto your computer so it can scan online. You can select which drives you want to be scanned and if you the scanner to clean the files automatically or let you decide at the end. Other Exploits As I'm sure a lot of people know, there are a number of exploits people have used to seriously annoy Windows users. First up is messenger, which brings little boxes up on your screen with only an "OK" button to click (while you're on the internet), and advertises a variety of things I'm sure you aren't interested in buying. To get rid of it, follow these instructions. Note: If you have multiple Windows accounts, you need to be logged into the account that has administrator access (normally the first account that was created). Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Scroll down to "Messenger" and double click on it. Click on the drop-down box next to "Startup Type" and then click on disabled, then apply. Once your computer has restarted this change will take effect, and you will no longer get the pop-ups. Second is the worm, MSBlast, and it's many variations. It's rife on the internet, and most people with fresh Windows installs get it after logging onto the internet. If you get the NT/AUTHORITY dialog box telling you your computer is going to shutdown in 60 seconds, click on Start, then Run. Type "cmd" into the dialog and press enter, which should bring up a DOS window. Then, type "shutdown -a" (without the ""). This will get rid of the box and prevent your computer from shutting down, but your profile will be lost for the period that your computer is booted, preventing from doing small things like clicking once on a link to open a new window, among other things. However, this will give you enough time to go to the Windows Update website and download the necessary updates to protect you from MSBlast. Also, if your computer does restart, press ctrl + alt + delete after you log on to windows and look for "msblast.exe", then end the process. Although, this will not stop the 60 second shutdown box once it has come up on your screen. Again, downloading the Windows Updates can prevent quite a few exploits from occuring, but for virii and spyware the tools listed above provide excellent protection. You can also download a free firewall from Zonelabs, called ZoneAlarm, but it has been known to cause crashes in some systems due it's use of the true vector engine. If you do download ZoneAlarm and start experiencing crashes (and think they may be related), right click on my computer, click "manage", then "Event viewer" and check the Application and System icons for "True Vector Service" errors with a big red 'x' next to them.

A couple days back Apple announced a refreshed version of Apple TV. If you arenâ??t familiar with Apple TV, it is basically receiver that allows the user to pump web-based content directly to their television without have to hook up a computer. Nothing too revolutional, but the new refreshed Apple TV is a huge improvement on the previous generation. First off, the refreshed version is a palm-sized, unobtrusive box that wonâ??t clutter a media center or tv stand. Second, the latest version provides Netflix support, which is necessary these days. Third, the new â??Air Playâ? feature will allow you to stream iTunes content from any computer in your home onto Apple TV. Finally, it only costs $99. However, it isnâ??t all sunshine and lollipops in Apple TV land. The television and movie rental aspect of Apple TV is kind of a rip. Rentals are expensive and the viewing window is ridiculously narrow ($0.99 for a television show that you have access to for 48 hours and $4.99 for a movie rental that you can access for 24 hours). Apple TV is also still stuck in 720p, which isnâ??t a huge deal, but it is still kind of disappointing. It also seems to skirt compatibility with one of the most popular content services on the net, Hulu. Overall, I think this is a nifty little device. I doubt I will pick one up (the PS3 and 360 both already have similar capabilities) but it wouldnâ??t be a bad alternative for someone that doesnâ??t have a next gen console and wants to get some added content on their flat screen.

I have been interested in Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions since I heard rumors that Marvel was really looking to amp up the Spider-man video game series, in hopes that they will have a critically acclaimed hit on their hands (like Batman: Arkham Asylum was for DC). The plot, like most comics turned video games, is pretty simple. Mysterio, one of Spidey's rogues, attempts to steal a mystical artifact that grants the possessor great power. Spidey tries to stop him and during the melee the artifact is shattered and scattered throughout space-time. Of course the pieces conveniently make their way into the hand of more and more villains. Fortunately, each dimension has its own incarnation of Spider-man that is willing to step up and thwart evil-doers. I've managed to squeeze a few hours of game play into my schedule and so far the game is okay, which is disappointing if you expect Marvel's own Arkham Asylum but fantastic if you are comparing it to the previous incarnations of Spider-man games. The graphics are fun, think Mark Bagley meets the illustrator from the cartoon Archer, and work with the lighthearted, bad-joke cracking Spider-man(men), and the sound track and voice acting are all pretty good. The best part of the game is definitely playing around with the various Spideys. Each has their own abilities, Amazing Spidey does all the cool web tricks like making web bats and spiked balls, 2099 Spidey has a hyper-vigilance mode that allows him to drastically slow down time during attacks, and Ultimate Spidey is bonded to the symbiote making him super strong. My personal favorite is the Noir Spider-man. Noir Spider-man's specialty is to stick to the shadows and confront enemies quickly and violently. You don't really want to push fights with Noir Spidey, he gets gunned down pretty easily. The best part of playing with Noir Spidey is the dialogue. The game takes a really campy edge with narrative straight out of a bad '20s detective film. It is wonderful. The downside of the game is the game play. While much improved over previous incarnations, their are still quite a few flaws. The biggest flaw is that the same button that is used to quickly web swing to designated points is also the button used for basic web swinging, you tap the button to swing to a designated point and hold it to swing. The problem is that it often doesn't work. I frequently find myself attempting to move to a designated point only to swing around crazily. The battle system is okay, kind of Devil May Cry like, where you can learn new combos and stringing combos earns you points. All in all, the game is pretty fun. I don't know if I would rush out and buy it, but it is definitely worth picking up when the price drops a bit.

E3 2010 - PS3 (PlayStation Network) Scott Pilgrim vs The World http://www.youtube.c...h?v=yAY4vNJd7A8 I have been meaning to post about this game for a little while and I'm now finally getting around to it. There are so many games at E3 that I want to buy, it would take me forever to create all the topics - not to mention the fact that I'd end up completely broke! Anyway, I figured Zelda would be more well-known, but now I want to show you guys a little game that I'm really excited about. At this stage, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is due to be released for PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network - apparently there will be an Xbox 360 version, but Ubisoft did not discuss that at E3. Presumably the 360 edition will arrive a little later. Before I start, I should also mention that I have not read the Scott Pilgrim comics. Prior to reading about the game, I had absolutely no idea who the character is. After having read about the game some more though, I'm actually pretty keen to check out the comics (maybe someone can advise whether they are worthwhile or not). For the uninitiated, though, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is basically a beat 'em up game that is closely based on a comic book of the same name. Much of the gaming media has described this game as being somewhat like Streets of Rage, if only to give everybody a pretty clear picture of the gameplay style. There is certainly a plot going on, but the main aim of the game is beating up a ton of people in a 2D environment. What I really find awesome about the concept, though, is the story: Scott is a slacker living in Toronto and he has fallen in love with a girl called Ramona Flowers (who happens to deliver packages for Amazon.ca). The catch, though, is that if Scott wants to date Romona, he must first defeat her seven ex-boyfriends (who, I assume, will end up being boss type characters in the game itself). For the most part, it looks as though this is a fairly typical side-scrolling fighting game. What differs, though, are the little touches. Apparently if you hold down the heavy attack button, your character will say a taunt - but if two characters do this while near each other, both will pull out an instrument and start jamming. Other players can join in - the resulting rock anthem seems to amount to a kind of super-attack that wipes out all the enemies on the screen. Awesome. There's also this thing called "subspace", which I'd liken to a warp zone. You can access subspace through different points in levels - at this stage it seems that the subspace sections are a little bit like those weird subspace areas from Super Mario Bros. 2 (except that in this game, they come complete with flying piggy banks that you can break open). I am not sure if the subspace areas allow you to actually travel from one point to another, or if they're just a little bonus area. Either way, they're kind of cool. There are a ton of reasons I'm interested in this game, even though it doesn't seem to be re-inventing the wheel. I love the style of the graphics and the entire concept just seems hilarious - I can imagine playing this with a group of people and having heaps of laughs. I don't think I can say much more than what the trailer actually shows! The game arrives on PS Network on August 10th (I don't know if this is a worldwide date or just North America). Anyone else interested in picking this one up?

everyone who has played a decently long adventure game probably knows what i am talking about here, but for those who are unsure, a minigame is short video game that you play inside of another game that usually has little to nothing to do with the plot of the main game. i feel that even though these games are usually not important at all and sometimes become difficult for some complitionists, some of them can be addicting and fun.
however some can be annoying and stupid, so a subcategory in this topic is your least favorite minigames.
anyways i will list off my top three favorites. 3) Kingdom Hearts 2: GUMMI SHIPS http://www.youtube.c...feature=related there is a lot to hate about kingdom hearts (every no- Disney character in my opinion) but gummi ships are just to much fun. in one they were fun, you didn't really have to do anything... but if you wanted to you could trick your ship out to make it faster or so strong that you could let go of the controller and finish a mission, in two however, the ship customization took a astronomical climb, making your ship feel like your ship. once you made it, you could pick a few perks then take on expansive star-fox 64 like missions. it gets incredibly intense with enemies firing from four sides at once, and you have to survive as well as kill as many of them as possible to get good ranks. 2)The Legend of Zelda, Phantom Hourglass: SHOOTING RANGE http://www.youtube.c...feature=related i chose this video cause the top score is also my top score. okay, there are lots of zelda shooting ranges... why does this one stick out as one of my favorite minigames? playing it is so friggen addictive. its very simple, kill the (very Mario like) ghost planks and don't hit the girl (easier said then done) points for each ghost start at ten, then add another ten for each consecutive hit up to 50 points per ghost. missing makes you start at ten and if you hit the girl its minus 50 points. this is fairly strait forward, but the way the targets move makes getting a high score require precise well timed strokes, forcing you to master the speed of the arrows, the speed of the ghosts and the girl, leading your shots, timing, angles, and your ability to do this fast. i have definitely played this mini game hundreds of times by now. 1) Final Fantasy X: BLITZBALL! http://www.youtube.c...feature=related i have probably spent more time playing this minigame than the actual game (and its a good game!) six different teams, tons of free agents, a leveling up system, a league, scrimmage and tournament play... even for final fantasy, for this mini game, they went all out. though the physics of the game (about a dollar) dont make any sense at all, the game play is addictive. you can take controll of the ball carrier, as well as set up your defensive positioning, and when an interaction occurs (a defending player gets close to a offensive player) you can select one of your skills to use. its likelihood to work then depends on the stats of your character vs theirs, and the skill they used. using certain skills can form a good strategy, combining status effects with power. the sport will have you racing back and forth in an underwater overly violent soccer-ish game. manage your roster well and you can enjoy obliterating the competition.
my least favorites really just make me angry thinking about it... both are from the same game. knights of the old republic. the pod race mini game is the most buggy, framerapey, pointless nonsense. the only way to do well is memorizing a bland course at impossible speeds. the game has very expensive stuff so i usually try to do them anyways, but the only way to get better is practice, and if you lose you lose money as well. so it becomes a waist of time and money! i usually save before a race and reload if i lose, but even then the amount of tries ii go through is infuriating. the only thing worse then that is Pazaak. i am a huge card game fan, so a star wars card game would be fun for me right? WRONG!!! this game is flat out unfair. the rule is you get four cards in your hand you can play at any time usually these cards are from 1-5 positive, negative or rare ones are both. you play these cards to help get as closes as possible to 20 without busting over. problem is you always go first, meaning your always at a huge disadvantage. criedits are hard to come buy so i do the save before games trick... but its so hard to beet the odds stacked up against you that at times i felt like breaking the game just so that i couldn't put myself through more abuse.
I searched but didn't find a World of Warcraft exclusive topic. And yes, this topic IS coming from me. ME! Your devoted Final Fantasy whore! Oh well. Try and stop me. Anyway this is a thread to find other fellow OB players. I dream of an OB raid worthy of Leroy Jenkins in which someone....*glare* gets us all slaughtered and we call them Leroy here for the rest of their lives. We can also discuss Cataclysm and any other significant events that you deem interesting. Like...what on earth would we call an all OB guild? Do you play PVP or PVE? Ever joined in Trade chat and felt bad for doing it? Killed n00bs over and over in a starting area? (and if you did, BAD BAD BAD DOG!) Oh right, the fourth option on the poll is Murloc. I play both Alliance and Horde in equal amounts. Draenei because if I'm going to watch someone's butt wiggling across my screen for 900 hours it's going to be a nice one. Troll because some of my rl friends are in a guild on Kilrogg and carry me through high level dungeons in a litter made out of spears and magic carpets. I've created, in order, Fire Mage (first roll, huge mistake), Enhancement Shaman with a dual spec for Healing (could be worse), and Beast Mastery Hunter (less of a mistake). I'm probably going to try making a Priest of some sort when Cataclysm comes because I'm determined to get better at healing. I play most of the time on Earthen Ring and Kilrogg, but my main (that I never touch) is on Argent Dawn. I have never joined in trade chat for anything but trading. And I've never done PVP because I dislike living in fear and dying a lot. As a fire mage I initially died more times than I could count. Good thing the game counts for me as if I needed reminding. Oh yes, have you ever met someone in real life you met through WOW? Met here is synonymous with date.

So my parents just had me set up their new computer (because apparently they don't know what plugs into where, lol) and I encountered something peculiar. When I first opened up their internet browser (IE by default) it automatically redirected me to some other site about buying movies or something. I just brushed that off because it's a new computer maybe it was just set up to launch an advertisement when it was first opened. However, when doing a Google search, the same thing happened. When I clicked on a search result, I'd be redirected to a different website â?? and not malicious sites, just legit places like Cisco was one that popped up often. They also open in a new window. If I went back and clicked the link again, I'd be brought to the correct website. At first I thought this was just because I was using Google, and Microsoft was just trying to be a dick so unsuspecting people would want to use Bing instead (though I didn't think to try searching using Bing to see if I'd get the same problem). So I tried installing Google Chrome, and the same thing happened. I tried looking this up online, but all I really get are people saying it's a malware infection or something along those lines, however I have a hard time believing that because: 1. This is a new computer. 2. These sites aren't malicious, basically just advertising (and not even like a normal pop-up, actually brings me to the homepage of the website, lol). My mom said she's been experiencing the same thing on her laptop. I've never had any such problem (though I think they're both on Windows 7, whereas I'm still on Vista). So I'm checking to see if any of you have heard anything about this and/or how to fix it. PS - I have no idea if this actually qualifies as a 'Hardwired' topic, but that forum is basically nothing but gaming regardless of what the description says. Do you have any plans to release Nimble Strong on any other platforms, you know, for guys like myself who either a) can't afford, or b) think the iPhone is overrated and will not get one? Looks like a game I'd enjoy playing, but I doubt I'll ever be an iPhone user, not in the short term at least.

So who's up for a crossover between all the leading ladies of Final Fantasy versus the awesome power of the women of Dead or Alive? A vicious battle between the two forces the likes of which are more brutal than ever seen by the likes of the video game community? Here is a link to share this beautiful CG battle of what people claim to be the fairer sex.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryH1TB4gEUY&playnext=1&videos=b55umLc9-wA It's awesome, does anyone agree?

Marvel vs Capcom 3, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Street Fighter vs Tekken and Tekken vs Street Fighters, there seems to be a lot of crossing over these days and I'm just wondering if you had a choice of what games to mash together what would they be? It don't have to be geared towards the fighting genre either. To get things rolling I've always wanted to see Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden collaboration. To see 2 of the biggest bad###es in the hack n slash genre come together in a game would be a dream come true for me. I've even searched youtube just to make sure there wasn't any fan-made videos of the 2 going at it. And then this one is aimed more specifically towards the rpg companies in general. I'd like to see western and eastern companies come together one time to make a game. To be more specific I'd like to see Bioware get together with one of the JRPG companies because I'd like to see Bioware's style of gameplay along with development along with some of the JRPG characters. I've never played Mass Effect (nor any other western rpgs for that matter) but I do like how it looks in terms of gameplay. I've played quite a few JRPG's and to be quite frank, I'm beginning to grow tired of them. The long dungeons with just finding items and the high encounters just wears me out quite a bit. Your turn. Edit: Crap, that title was supposed to be "Crossovers"

Title says it all. Never played the first MOTHER game, but the second and third are two of my favourite games of all time! MOTHER 2 (aka EarthBound) is thrilling, funny, and trippy!
The final boss
is pure nightmare fuel, but being scared just gives me a rush of adrenaline! MOTHER 3, on the other hand, is so sad. It was the first video game that made me cry. But that's what I love so much about it.

What old school games or franchises do you wish they'd bring back or remake? What older games do you think deserves a sequel? For me its... Jet Moto: one of my favorite PlayStation titles, I had every game in the series at one point. I loved it. Hoverbike racing through the desert river valleys and canyons? Hook-turns off of waterfalls? That was a great time, even on a PS1. Imagine what they could do on current consoles? The graphics update and physics would be amazing and I'd definetly buy it. SSX Tricky/SSX3: Needs to be re-done on the PS3 and X-Box 360, or atleast given a sequel in the same style. The best extreme sports games ever. Easily one of my favorites of all time, I enjoy the over the top style more so than even Tony Hawk's games. It was just so much fun, and bright. Every time you landed a trick you felt like you were freaking amazing, and catching those high flying half-pipe combos with your special going and fireworks in the air while blaring Felix Tha Housecat as Viggo wearing a bikini bottom and fedora is an unforgettable gaming experience. I want to relive that so bad. I'm aware of Blur, but it definetly can't provide the same experience as Tricky or SSX3. Def Jam: Fight For NY: They did a newer X-Box 360 game with the Def Jam name, but that travesty held no comparison to the Fight for NY game. Easily the best wrestling-style/brawling game around. If they did an MMA game, it should be something like this. Its my third favorite fighting game ever behind Soul Calibur and Tekken, and for good reason. It's just such a great game, and I've only been beaten in it once by one guy. The fighting style fusion system and character creation were amazing, and the clothing was actually cool, unlike almost every other wrestling/fighting game around with the same feature. They need to bring this back, and give it a sequel. What about you? Does anyone agree with me?

LINK Altough it came as no surprise to any of us that S-E would announce the next game in the FF series, the fact that it would be spread across multiple consoles is somewhat of a surprise to me. Personally, I think the only reason they would do this is because they want to make as much money off of it as possible, but my choice on wherether or not to give S-E more of my money will depend on the qualityt of Final Fantasy XII.

I'd have to say .hack. You fight the last of the 8th phases, and not some random pop up boss in most RPG's.

Anyone who's played enough video games has probably encountered one before. The boss, the big bad, that the game has been eluding to all this time! You finally get to fight them, and then.... it's the most disappointing fight ever. Moments like this essentially ruin the dramatic tension of the game. So what kind of anticlimactic bosses have YOU encountered? The first thing that comes to mind for me when I think "anticlimactic" is the Sorceress from Spyro 3. The whole game you'd been seeing cutscenes of this evil cuss, and the boss battles before that had been growing exponentially greater, so OF COURSE the Sorceress is gonna be an epic mofo, right? Nope, totally wrong. The instant you start fighting her, you notice the extremely inappropriate music. It sounds more like you're going for a picnic than fighting the big bad of the game.
And this still holds true for the second battle. You think they might redeem themselves when you realize, "Oh hey, that wasn't really the end! The real end is gonna be GREAT!" But no. :/
She's at least tough enough, but the music completely ruins the atmosphere. And you know they have epic music on hand, so they definitely could have done better.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (officially abbreviated as WAR) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game based on Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy setting. It was developed by Mythic Entertainment and simultaneously released in North and South Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand on September 18, 2008. The game revolves around the continual worldwide conflict that the Warhammer Fantasy setting is known for, and the game is geared toward ongoing, constant war laced with dark humor.
WAR was built up to be the next "WoW-killer" which is kind of a shame because that caused a lot of people to have ridiculous expectations about the game when it was really just thriving to be a good, polished MMO. And that's what it is. Warhammer is really a fresh of breath air for me. I've played WoW lots and about several other MMOs in the past but there really hasn't been much in the market for a while now. Until now... Everything in the game will feel very familiar, yet different. There's lots of innovation (especially with "Public Quests" and the Tome of Knowledge) that makes it clear the game was built from the ground up. I know there are quite a few MMORPG lovers out there and I'm really inviting you to join WAR with my friend and I. I know Matt will be getting it eventually as well. Unfortunately there is no demo or free trial (you do get the first month free) you can play but I assure you this game is worth every penny. I just pulled down the game based on great recommendations from friends. I'm on an older iPhone 3G device. It gets to the main menu page, but clicking on new game, or recipe book consistently crashes the app. Help?

GAME PLAY TIPS [blockquote]

Almost every drink begins with filling the glass with ice. To make things easy on you ice is automatically selected. The first thing you should do when the glass hits the bar is touch and hold the glass. Ice cubes will fall in. Only release your finger from the glass when it's full, otherwise you risk getting fail prompts.
Whenever a "Fail" prompt appears you lose a % of your accuracy score. You get a small percent back with a "Perfect" and you break-even on "Nice." If you get a "Nice (Tad Under)" try to put just a tiny bit more to get to Perfect, you'll get a small boost.
Almost every drink begins with one of the base spirits (vodka, gin, rum, tequila, bourbon, cognac) and a two second pour. Touch and hold your finger on the glass for two seconds (count in your head) and release.
One ounce ingredients will be a one-second pour (count in your head and release). Splashes will just be a little bit.
When in doubt, consult your recipe book (top right corner).
If you have two orders at once that share ingredients, always try to pour into both in one go (using two fingers).
Only put on a garnish if you have time, they're not required. If you pick the right garnish you get a small boost but the lost time might make it not worth it. They are pretty, though.
Even though you're technically supposed to muddle drinks before putting in ice, Nimble lets you put in ice first and muddle second without penalty. This saves you extra time because you can use the fact that ice is the default selection to your advantage.
[/blockquote]

E3 2010 Demo Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 Decided to hop on the bandwagon and start at least one topic about a game from E3 I'm quite interested in. Been meaning to do this for the past few days, anyway. Pretty much the only non-Nintendo thing I was looking forward to this past E3, Portal 2 is something I've been excited about since I played beat the original game sometime last year. The environment and story, minimal as it was, was ripe for questions and speculation, and I'm hoping 2 will expand upon it and prove [or debunk!] some of the theories people have. Oh, and it's just plain fun, too, and brilliantly written, so yeah. Anyway, here's what is known about the game so far [POTENTIAL SPOILERS, do not read further if you want to be absolutely surprised when the game comes out]:

it takes place 100 something years after the original game, with Chell in stasis since the end of Portal 1
GLaDOS will be returning and running you through tests yet again
one of GLaDOS's personality cores, Wheatley, will be a new character and help you out through a portion of the game. He's seen in the demo, with a placeholder voice that has been so well-received that it might be made permanent.
There are various new tools to help you out in Aperture Science, such as a vaccum from a pipe to suck up items and enemies, paint to splash onto the ground to help you increase speed to fling yourself across large chasms, and much more.
Whereas Portal 1 was a short Gaiden Game to the Half Life series, topping in just a couple of hours gameplay time, the sequel will have no connections to Half Life [whether or not this is a good thing depends on the player], and will be a complete, full price game.
Also of note, a couple years ago, Kotaku reported on a leaked casting call for Portal 2, revealing some early details long before the game was officially announced. This introduced the possibility of Aperture Science's founder, Cave Johnson, as being another AI, similar to GLaDOS. Although, since it's been so long, and they've not made any mention of this, I wonder if this will still be in the game. Although it's entirely [and likely] possible they're just saving it for when the game actually comes out, though. Finally, and probably the only disappointment that I have so far, is that it's been delayed 'til sometime in 2011. Oh well, whatever they need to perfect it! So, who else is looking forward to the return trip to Aperture Science?

Spiritual successor to Rockstar's Red Dead Revolver released in 2004, Redemption places the player in the shoes of John Marston a partly reformed outlaw in turn of the century America obliged to bring law to the lawless. One of the most eagerly awaited games of the year, it has been declared both a "tour de force" and a "masterpiece" by IGN, racking up an incredible 97% rating. OK, shilling done. I'm eagerly awaiting my own copy of the game released on Friday and am wondering if there are any fellow OBers eager to get their six-shooters on dive head-first into Rockstar's new western sandbox adventure ?

It's that time of the year again... Well, almost. E3 is right around the corner. I think it starts on the 15th. Anything you're anticipating or exciting to see more details about? Honestly, I haven't been keeping up with the games like I usually do so I'm pretty behind on what to expect. I heard about the Nintendo 3DS, which I can't say that I'm anticipating all that much. (Hey, I'm still anti-Nintendo although I do own a DS) I guess it depends on the games that's coming to that thing. I also heard about a new God of War game that's suppose to be making an appearance. I haven't played GoW3 yet but I am curious about this one. Overall though, from off the top of my head the only games I'm really interested in seeing (I'll probably catch each event a day later since I go to class at night) are Final Fantasy XIII Versus (however that's suppose to go), Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Marvel vs Capcom 3. (I still need to get a ps3 so I can play MGS4 and SF4/SSF4) Your thoughts and stuff.
