To have an avatar go to profile, then edit profile, go to the bottom and you'll see a thing called chande avatar, they're in there!
To change your name you have to PM the administrators, though it hasn't worked for me!

Names changes, as already stated, you hav to ask a Admin, but they rarely do it... pick a name, stay with it.... it's not our fault you picked a name you don't want... but you can always ask the admin, just don't pester them... James or Adam... I don't think Safer and I can change user names...
