Well, I made a second banner, this time I tried a border, but since I don't have a border tool with the program I have, it just used a straight horizontal line and a straight vertical line. I also Sharpened it and brightened it a bit. I know the picture's proportion looks horrible but the program I'm using Arcsoft Photostudio is a piece of junk and isn't at all good like Photoshop so when I resize things the blasted picture won't stay proportional, anywho, here's the picture.

The only problem I have with that second banner, is that the image looks smushed. Would that art program of yours be MS paint by any chance?

Well, I tried my hand at another banner and have made a Marik/Malik banner. I chose to ditch the border and left it borderless.

This is my newest banner, I know its a little shotty, but I just couldn't get a decent picture of Shobu.

[COLOR=RoyalBlue][SIZE=2][FONT=Garamond]I like the feel of the Malik banner, but all of the banners you've shown feel a little smushed together. I'd say, try to find a way to fix that, and you would have a few good banners. Also, with the Yugi vs. Shobu, I think that's his name, try to find a way to make Shobu seem less choppy.[/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

You should try using Irfanview (google it), since it has a decent resizing tool, and it's free. You might also try the Gimp.
