why is it that goku and gohan had tails when they were little. but now when they are older they don't have tails. why is that?

Because they got it removed.... But Goku gets it back when he goes SSJ 3

when goku (Dragon Ball) was small he crushed his gradfather during his ozaroo effect ( big monkey dude ) . He turned into a big monkey by seeing the moon. The after the moon goes away Goku turns small again and falls asleep. Then yamcha cuts his tail off. Then alot later in Dragon Ball Z when Gohan is fighting vegeta on earth as ozaroo he also gets his tail cut off. So as Forte said once Goku turns SSJ 3 he grows it back.

with all this talk about tails, this reminds me frieza got his tail cut off by kuririns destructo disc. hey why did i jus say that :confused:

If you remember in dragon ball goku becomes a big monkey, they stop him by cuting off his tail. But it growes back in like a year. That is what i want to know. how did he stop it from growing back for so long. or is one of those things that they didn't cover in the show tht you aren't suppose to bring up?

well it does grow back whjen he goes ssj3 but it dosn't grow back for such a long time bcuz once u cut off a saiya-jins tail it dosn't grow back in a long time or something like that

i thought that ssj 3 was the stage were they get hair down to the waist, no eyebrows, and there power goes up so much that it is hard to stay in this stage. i was pretty sure that it was ssj4 that they grow back there tail. i wonder if veggeta ever had a tail, he would look funny wit ha tail.

after he lost his tail (goku in dragon ball) he was asking where did it go and that it comes back in a year, or real close. and then it grows back in the world martial arts tourny when he fights gyran ( i have know idea how to spell it) the guy goku fights in the semi finals.

of course vegeta had a tail! you can see it wrapped around his waist, a la saiya-jin style, when he first gets to earth.

vegeta had a tail it was rapped up on his waist and in ur question "was it krillens destructo disc" no it wasn't krillen used distructo disc on frieza and cut off his tail on earth that fat guy that eats alot cut off vegetas tail

let me try and .. well.. make it understandible (for me atleast..)
Goku has a tail in the begining of db

when they are at Pilaf's(sp?) castle, goku turns oozaru (when seeing the moon, of course) and wreaks the castle, puar(sp?) then turns into scissors and cuts off his tail.. making him small, naked and tailess

world championship, goku grows his tail back in the middle of a match, whoops some behind, then goku fights jacky chun(roshi), moon comes out and he grows huge.. once again, then jacky(roshi) shoots a kamehameha wave at the moon and destroys it, goku still has a tail but is small again.. joy

(i havn't seen all of db so i cant really tell you any more about goku.. that i can think of at the moment)

gohan has a tail when hes born (durr..), when piccallo is training gohan he transforms, piccallo attemps to blow up the moon (what?.. moon?.. thought roshi blew it up...) well he couldn't blow it up.. cause it was a projection from a saiya-jin pod.. piccallo just hit the problem at the source, he takes off gohans tail..

(O____O;; this stuff was so long ago.. i dont remember anymore.. sorry, sorry if i spelled any of the names wrong.. -_- or got any of the situations mixed up)

i always thought it was if you cut off a Saiyan's (sp?) tail, it always grows back unless you surgicly (sp?) remove it or some peeps are saying pull it out. this is why Gohan has turned Oozaru soooo many times in the series & the movies.

I think it grows back in a few years, because look at Goku in DB! He loses his tail, and it grows back!

As for Goten and Trunks.... they are both hybrids... half human, half Saiya-jin.... there's a 50/50 chance they are going to get a tail... they didn't.

[i]they both were cut off, but as forte said they can grow back, but to fix what he said, they dont come back at ssj 3 they return after gold oozuru
