Where Can I Find...?

Welcome to the 'Where Can I Find...?' thread. Here, the goal is for members to aid other members in finding certain products, media resources, and rare items on the internet. For example, if one needs help finding The White Album by the Beatles, then they can simply request it here, and another can respond with a reference to a helpful resource (ie. a link to Amazon.com's White Album page). This thread can also be used to provide links and/or references to song lyrics, preview/review-based websites (ie. ComingSoon.net, Rotten Tomatoes, ect.), or any other media-based aid.

Plugs to personal webpages will not be tolerated. References to free or illegal P2P programs, torrents, or direct links to media files will also not be tolerated. Violations will result in deleted posts, warnings, or (in cases of repeat offenders) possible bannings.

This inital list will be edited and added onto as this thread progresses.

Music / Movie Purchase:

Amazon: Sells most commercial CDs, DVDs, tie-in products, movie tickets, and (in rare cases) VHS tapes and vinyl records. [New and Used].

YesAsia: Sells CD's, DVD's, VCD's, and other products related to modern Asian cultures (ie. J-Pop, Korean-Pop, ect). Alternative reading languages and currency listings (ie. Pounds, Euros, Dollars) also available. [New]

Second-Hand Purchases:

eBay: Specializes in second-hand purchases and online auctions. Can be used to find media products no longer being manufactured commercially. [Used].

Another one I recommend is www.CDBaby.com. This site specializes largely in indie releases and sells pretty much anything an artist is willing to send over to them (they're pretty fair about paying the artists too). A lot of things that are nearly impossible to find on larger sites like Amazon are on CDBaby. Definitely worth a shot for the more obscure stuff.

CD Japan is pretty similar to YesAsia in terms of product selection and pricing. I haven't used the site much, but so far it's turned out to be fairly reliable.

DVD Pacific sells DVDs of all kinds, including anime, and their prices are excellent. They had a credit-card scare a while back; since then they've supposedly ramped up their security, and their prices are fantastic. Their customer service is also top-of-the-line.

Deep Discount DVD has so-so customer service... however, they do offer superb deals, and some people may find this to be a worthwhile trade-off.

If you're accepting links for stores that deal primarily in anime and anime-related merchandise, I strongly recommend Right Stuf. Their weekly specials and studio sales are usually pretty attractive; it can take a little while to learn how to maximize your savings (i.e. by using special coupons, placing orders in large chunks for free shipping, etc.), but they have the best customer service in the business.

You might want to add a warning mentioning that not all products listed on eBay or in Amazon's auction shops are legitimate.

Does anyone know a good site/company that specializes in the sale of rare albums (vinyl records)? Besides eBay? I've been trying to find two albums, but to no avail.

Babe Ruth - "First Base" LP .................Broken Glass - "Style of the Street" EP

If anyone knows where I could find either one, if not both, of these records, I would be more than greatful.

Interesting, most interesting.

UK and Irish users might try Play.com as they offer free delivery on everything and nearly always cheaper than most shops I've come across. They sell quite a wide variety of stuff, similar to Amazon and their postage is usually quick compared to eBay.

I believe they also have an American branch, though I've never used it, PlayUSA is the name I think.

If you live in Europe (Italy in particular) Or are looking for an original version of a show that you just can't find in the states, I suggest http://internetbookshop.it/ or http://mondohe.com/

I've ordered some DVDs from IBS, but Mondo seems a bit cheaper. However both sites are completely in Italian so you need to know some of the basics when you order or you could screw something up. But so far I've been pleased with the service- IBS even sends you coupons for discounts on your next purchase.
