that nintendo was sorta responsible for the ps1?
nintendo wanted a cd version for the snes they sony do do it
but then nintendo droped it. but sony still went on whith it whicked cool right

Nintendo and Sony were working on a CD add-on for SNES. But Nintendo soon realized that add-ons weren't very hot and apparently Nintendo didn't like the quality of Sony's technology.

So Nintendo dumped 'em and went on to develop Nintendo 64.

Sony kept the SNES CD machine going and turned it into the PlayStation. :) It's a cool story hehe [/color]

Nintendo planned for it too...look under the SNES and you'll find that ext. slot. Same thing for the N64.

If you get down into the hardware...they're quite similar if you include the 8-bit RISC chip packed with some games.
