Originally posted by ladyscorp2006 im lovin the .hack series im currently playin .hack//infection and am stuck on the boss that looks like a snake. no offense to any of the fans of elk but he is no help what-so-ever. but all together it is a good gam.
I hated that boss. The only suggestion I have, bring lots of Resserects and lots of Gan Rom scrolls (the boss has an Earth tolerence, IIRC, so the Wood of the Gan Rom will double the damage). Just keep hitting him from a distance then Data Drain and hit him some more. Revive Elk were needed. Eat. Rinse. Repeat. :p

>>The original AMG Tv series is just like the movie: A love story with it's funny moments.>> Thanks for letting me know, Queen Asuka. No one really told me it was a comedy, just that it was rather funny at times. Guess I just read into that the wrong way. >>My favorite part was when they reached the Gate and Belldandy and Keiichi had to walk through.>> Yeah that was a cool part. And with the constant descriptions of how "picky" the gate was the end result really could have gone either way, unlike other such endings which really do not put much doubt into the viewer.
Originally posted by miroko yeah i got both of the rare twin blades the sprial edge and the bomb bo ya :p and i cant beat the guy with four eyes on mutation  its hard any body beat him ?
One thing I would suggest, if you fail to beat him three times go to either www.cheatcc.com or www.cheatcodes.com. The first one is the best and has a professionally writen guide on how to beat it. The latter has suggestions from players themselves (not as good as the first). I would also suggest playing a few levels to see what is your best tactic (up close and personal, or distance magic) and adapting the strategies to your way.

.Hack//Infection is a great game, the only problem is that it is too short. (For reference, any game that only take 40 hours total to beat is too short) The "Birth of Cubia" clip-scene at the end was amazing, especially the character design of Cubia. I cannot wait to get .Hack//Mutation now. :D

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 18, "Declaration"

Rating: 9/10 For some reason nothing amuses me more right now then seeing Silver Knight make such as huge mistake. I had a feeling that his growing zealous behavior would result in the ending they showed. It is only too bad that Subaru did not plant that axe right in the back of his character's neck. I suppose that seeing her knock Silver Knight down a few pegs was good enough though. -
New review time. :D This week: Ah! My Goddess- The Moive First off a note. I have never seen the orignal AMG TV show so I cannot compare the two. I have heard that it was at comedy, if so this movie deviated completely from that idea. It is strictly action with a standard love story. Anyway, this movie was fantastic. The "crazed, ultra-powerful villian trying to recreate things in his image" bit has been done to death before, but this one is better. I has now become a battle joining Heaven and Earth to defend the existance of humankind as it exists now. Belldandy has to face a horrible time in her past that had been taken away from her, and is forced to choose between a live from the past and one from the present. The fate of humans may very well be decided by her choice. It seems strange to see an action movie that requires a love story as a deciding factor, even though it would not be a first. As an added bonus for those with the DVD there is a preview of "The Adventrures of Mini-Goddess," lasting about fifteen minutes, and an art gallery. I recommend this movie to anyone that likes a great action movie with a love story.

I have beaten the game (just yesterday) and got though the Paradise Dragon challenge. I have gotten the Hyukkadendrain, but not the Bom-ba ye (even though I have been zapping Mu Guardians left and right). Just to compare tactics, how did you defeat Paradise Dragon? I used Blackrose and Piros as the main attack, while I stayed back and healed them. (Same trick for Skeith)
-
I have not seen the TV version so I cannot compare it to the OVA. XxmagentaxX, I will agree that the computer effects left something to be desired, but I was refering to the actual drawings, not the computer images. And a side correction, according to the DVD booklet this one is actually the 3rd OVA in the series.

Anime (US/CAN) General thoughts and ratings for .hack//SIGN 17, "Conflict"

>>Polite?? when was he.... oh.... you meen when he was cheering up Subaru.>> Basically, yes. That is only time I have seen him act politely to anyone. >>Why does everyone have "Feelings" for Subaru?>> Because that seems to be the role that the writers placed her in. She seems to be uncomfortable in her place as the Crimson Knights. Her spot in the story is basically to be the only that everyone feels sorry for. Besides, she has such as nice outfit. *Wolf Whistle* >>Ok, Azure, you can be treasurer of the club. Kaola su is Vice president. But I still have to decide on a secretary. heehee>> Ooh, ooh. Can I be the crazed guy that sits in the corner holding a large stick and looking like I am about to go off at any second? You know, the basic weapon-weilding psycho who nobody talks to for fear of setting him off like a time bomb. -
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud I know that you are the "evil anime reviewer that is striking again" but you can strike again in your previous thread...from now on keep all of your reviews in this thread. ps...why are you an evil anime reviewer?
Alright, no prob. I just wanted to keep my threads from gretting cluttered up with confusing replies. As for the "Evil Anime Reviewer" part, it was just something I made up on the fly. I needed a name that would work and that one just jumped into my head. (Besides, I have been accused of being evil IRL):p

Rating: 6.5/10 Not a bad episode, but not too great since it was mostly a filler. I now hate BT slightly less then usual since they got rid of her "High & Mighty" attitude and finally showed that she was fallible. Her treatment of Subaru did not seem too harsh, since she most likely had just raised her emotional defences after the events with Sora and Krim. The bombshell dropped by Krim surprised me just as much as BT's reaction. It always seemed to me that both understood that an online friendship could only be that. Perhaps the most surprising part was the fact that Silver Knight actually smiled and was polite. That was a shocker. -
Yep. Time for another round of The Evil Anime Reviewer. Due to a conflict in my college schedule and the people that rent from my library I only have on review this time. Fushigi Yugi-Eikoden (four-part OVA) First off, this is not the actual made-for-TV series. Instead it is a follow-up OVA (kind of like GW:Endless Waltz). It is the second follow-up OVA that I know of. This is a great movie for anyone that enjoys fairytale style shows. Mayo (main character) falls in love with Taka (seen in the orginal series), but becomes enraged and jealous as he marries someone else. As a result, three months she opens "The Book Of The Four Gods" and finds herself trapped inside, in the role of Priestess of Sukazu (Suzaku is the bird-like god of the south). Taka enters the book after his wife (also from the orignal series) falls into a coma and their unborn child it transported into the book and Mayo. What follows is a four-part struggle to find the "Suzaku Seven" and return the dying world to normal, and to return Mayo, Taka and the baby to the real world. IMO this proves to be a great anime choice. The story is great, the underlying love story plays a very good part (and it not just there for humor), and the artwork is great. The only downside is that there are parts that refer to the orinal 52-episode series, and can lead to a few unanswered questions. Beware the two-face Chichiri. :p
Originally posted by Kurama_Fan Okay.... I have a question. Yu see, I have never seen Mononoke Hime in English. Just the trailer, and that was a year ago, I think. (I rented it from the library) Is the english dub of M.H. Good? Just wanted to know.
Personally I think it is very good. I do not think I got the chance to see the subbed part of the DVD, but the dubbed had the voices of actually TV/movies stars, so you did not wind up with the over-exaggerated voices that some anime dubs have. In the dubbed version I remember that Gillian Anderson played the roll of Moro (Wolf God) and the Billy-Bob Thorton (sp?) played Jigo (monk in red and white outfit). Both of them did very well, IMO.

Rating: 8/10 A very good, yet somewhat disturbing episode. It was good that they provided another internal struggle for Tsukasa, instead of showing him in another pointless fight. The bit with Aura's eyes was really unusual, and I am still wondering as to why she was crying, although I do have some ideas. And the best part, BT getting player killed. :D That brightened up my day. I only wish they had stretched it out so that we could see her writhe a little. On a side note, I had a possible revelation about the voice and Maha. I believe that Maha is the embodied version of the voice. The reason is when the voice was talking it said "You, that girl and I, the three of us." There is not mention of Maha staying with them. It would also explain the lack of Maha's voice. -
Time once more for another installment of The Evil Anime Reviewer. I review, so you do not have to. First: Crest of The Stars (ep. 1-4) A very interesting anime. Set in the future where genetically altered humans called the Ahb wish to control all of space. They care little for the planets they conquer as they live in space and not on land. The first episode seems slow because it is set seven years in the past to show how the main character became part of Ahb royalty, even though he is not an Ahb. Past that it is a great anime series (so far) and I recogmend it to anyone that wants to see a sci fi show with what appears to be a love story starting very early. Next: Excel Saga (ep. 1-5) This one makes me ask one simple question right off the bat: "What were they smoking?!?" It is the most unusual anime ever, which is proven when the main character, Excel, is sent by Lord Ilpalazzo to kill the creater of Excel Saga. Even more unusual is the fact that Excel's partner is a Martian Princess who seems to be anemic and cannot stay standing for more then ten seconds. There also seem to be background characters in every episode that play no real part other then just to amuse people. And I will not even mention the sick mind needed to create the "Emergency Ration" that Excel keeps going after. Finally: Gatekeepers (ep. 1-3) A superpower filled, post WWII (about 15+ year IIRC) with an alien invasion theme. Basically, there is a secret "Earth Defence Group," codenamed A.G.E.I.S., that is using teenagers with to create "Gates" that release enormous power to hunt down an alien race bent on planetary domination.
Originally posted by Solid btw conserning that matter, was it only me, or when tsukasa died subaru was animed really good, (i found it the best "motion picture" i have ever seened), it was just so beutiful and sad...
The falling feathers and the tear drop were a great addition, showing both loss and sadness. The only part that did not look as good (to me) was when she was staring into the air. For some reason her face seemed too pointed, and the eyes did not seem quite right. (Then again, maybe it is just me) -

Rating: 4/10 I usually hate recaps, but this one did not bother me. Due to the week-long wait between episodes there are things I have forgotten, and this episode helped me remember them a little.
yeah, they added new scenes that had Subaru and Silver Knight.
Are you talking about the scene on the boat where they are talking about the "monster reports" calming down? If so then that is not really a new scene. It differs from the original in the fact that it was daytime and the camera angle was different. -
Yes, it is time once more for two reviews from the evil anime reviewer. First off: Princess Mononoke This is an awesome anime and it has it all: action, violence, sappy love scenes and a giant life-sucking blob. For anyone that has not seen this anime I suggest finding it, quickly. No matter what genre you enjoy you will definately enjoy this anime. And on top of it all, it does a great job of addressing humankind's arrogance, greed and mistreatment of nature (not to mention what can happen because of it). Next: Vandread An interesting, yet very strange anime. I have yet to see more then the first four episodes, but will still ad my opinion of what I saw. This anime is filled with action, but seems a bit lacking when it comes to a storyline. The idea of two planets (one of men and one of women) creating total hate for each other in only a few generations time seems a bit too much. Maybe if they had set it after about five generations I could believe it, but after only two (maybe three) it does not seem right. Other then that the first episodes were not too bad, with a lot of action and mildly perverse humor. Add to that the main female character is a total ditz and you have enough action and humor to amuse yourself a few times. :p

Hmm, let me think for a moment. 1/100th's Wing Gundam Wing Gundam Zero Deathscythe Hell Altron Gundam Gundam Epyon Others (Not sure of size/level) Zaku IIs (Red Comet Zaku) Gelgoog Jaeger Hygog I think that should be all. Now for my opinions First off if anyone can get a hold of the Zaku IIs (I think a Level 6) do so, quickly. This is the best one I have. First off the chest opens to reveal Char in the chair and the engine (I think) next to him. Also the area where the feet join the legs opens to reveal hydralics. It also has a massive collection of weapons (2 Sturm Faust rockets, 1 Machine Gun with extra ammo set, 1 Bazooka and 1 tank cannon). Now as for the Hygog and Jaeger (both level 3, IIRC) do not bother. They have a low part count and thus do not look as nice. Definately get the 1/100ths from Gundam Wing (if you like that show). Very well designed, including the transfromations on Wing, Wing Zero and Epyon. The only one I have any problem with is the Deathscythe Hell. The problem is that the twin beam scythe is too heavy for the hands to hold (with the clear/green plastic "blades"), but other then that it is great.

Rating: 9/10 That was (IMO) the best episode yet. And the cliff-hanger at the end kicked ***, even more then last week's. The sudden fear that Mimiru showed while hanging from the walkway did a great job of showing how realistic the world can seem to a person's mind durning a crisis. Also the fight between Sora and Krim was great, even though it seemed like more of a word fight then an actual battle. Finally, once more BT made me wish I could reach into the screen, grab her neck and throttle her. -
As a person who has played the games, I know that there's only one valid reason why you wouldn't: you don't have a PS2.
That is not true. I have a PS2 and have never played the .Hack games. The reason is two-fold. 1) Too many other games, too little time. Yep, I like to play a lot of game, but finding the time to is hard. :( 2) Hard to find. At least in rental form. I still have not completely checked the stock of Hollywood Video (largest selection), but I am quite positive that Blockbuster does not have it. :bawl: Okay, I am done ranting (for now). ;)
Originally posted by magic_raditz black phoenix, I believe that person is in the video games somewhere as well.
Yeah, I think she is. IIRC, in the ads I have seen for .Hack//Infection they show the characters facing someone that looks just like the "informant" in this episode. I find this strange because in the pictures of that scene (from the game) it looks as if the character are afraid of her (almost as though she were an enemy). Oh, well. Hopefully the answers will come later in the show. -

Rating: 8/10 Definately a good episode. Even though it had little action, like the last few episodes, it was a lot more informative. The ending kicked *****, and it was good to finally see what effect a Wave Master's powers had in the world (since it was never mentioned). That mystery "informant" that Bear talked to was a nice touch too. And I get the feeling that this is not the last time she appears either (just speculation). -
