1. Thank you both for the information. I had never thought about DBGT, but then again I have never seen DBGT either.
2. Does anyone out there know if the writers of Dragonball were playing on a second series to explain Goku's tail and trasformations? Or did Dragonball Z just kinda happen after Dragonball proved to be such a big hit? I have no clue why, but I started thinking about this and cannot get it outta my head.
3. Yep, seen it. It is a great anime movie, but just too horribly depressing. At least it does not try to "soften" the reality of the situation. That is what I liked best about it. There was no kidding around, it was just straight forward, cold hard reality. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone that wants to see a great anime movie, but who cannot be easily saddened.

Zoids

I have seen all three and like all three. Zoids: CC (Chaotic Century) is definately one of the best. I especially like the mystery that surrounds Fiona, and the totally kick-***** paintjob on Ivine's Command Wolf. Guardian force is the best of them all. Not only is the greatest Organoid owning villian back, but he gets a much better (evolved) version of his zoid. (And besides, the older Fiona is cute :D) Century Zero is great for the battles and conversion Liger parts, but that is about it. Its story lacks something, and even some of the battles are worthless.
5.
In some scenes you might hear the similarities...but I don't believe it.
You do realize that there is a good chance that the voice actor can change the way a character sounds, right? For instance, the voice actor for Piccolo also does the voice of Wolverine in X-Men: Evolution, but the two still sound slightly different.
6. I believe the man that does Jet's voice also does the voice of one of the early villians on Rurouni Kenshin. He was the big guy that wanted revenge on the Kamiya Kasshin school and even sent Sano (sp?) after Kenshin. Also, I believe the leader of the Jinpu Squad in Rurouni Kenshin was the same man that does Spike's voice.
7. I have seen the answer to this question in Animerica and Anime Invasion.
According to both Android 17 (from DBZ) becomes fused or absorbed by Artificial 17 (who was created by Gero and Myuu while in H***). Thus creating Super 17.
I suggest going here: Official Dragonball GT Site. It may have more info. Edit by J-17: Remember to use the spoiler tag because not everyone has seen DBGT yet. ^_^
8. One word: Toonami. Yep, I was there since the first day of Toonami and have been there ever since. Thankfully they have not let their audience down and continue to bring in new and interesting anime series.
9.
Originally posted by tabmow A lot of uninformed people refer to Anime as dirty Japanese cartoons or cartoon pornography.
That is why they are uniformed. If it were pornogrophy it would be called Hentai (meaning pervet or perverted).
There is more nudity in Anime than in the American cartoon counterparts. I would like to hear responses to this topic and maybe some explainations for this. Is nudity really necessary in Anime ?
Unlike people in American, the Japanese do not look down on nudity as being taboo in a family setting. Most nudity in anime is either used in a comfortable environment (such as a bath) or just for the sake of humor (let's face it, some people find it funny. people like me  )
10. Are you talking about the one with Andrew Gramm (sp?) and Grizzly Gundam? Personaly, I always prefered the later episodes, during the tourney and the Dark Gundam's colony form.
11.
Originally posted by Watinabe I guess you could say it all depends on weither the tech read outs are even correct mmmm.... EXCEL this calls for plan 2116 I want you to steal the original tech read outs and build a gundam to destroy F city!
Truth be told, I do not think I fully trust some of the info in the tech readouts that I have. So far I have four of them and everyone has some sort of a problem (With the G Gundam one being the worst). I would suggest checking out this site: Bad Karma: Gundam. Their site is very good and has the best info I have seen.
12.
Originally posted by wizard-of-oz my freind says he's the fastest. but i thought death sythe was the fastest.
Nope. According to the tech readout Wing Zero was the fastest.
13. Early 90's ?!? I never realized they started in the 90's. I always thought they were and 80's band. Oh well. It proves that I do not know much about them, other then their music.
14. *Quietly counts off the number that apply, then stops and thinks.* "How many had to apply before we have no life?" *Thinks for a moment.* "Never mind, I just realized I have no life anyway. And as a special two-for-one deal my sanity went with it." OOC: Yes. I am strange. How did you know? I cannot say that the "Newbie" thing works for the school I graduated from last year. Instead the newbies was called "Fish". And the first and last Friday of the year was "Fish Friday". It was basically the initiation process. Most of it was small stuff, like pen or marker writing on an arm, but every so often some one pushed it.
15. (At least I think they are an 80's band) Has anyone else around here ever heard of a band called Big Bad Voodoo Daddy? Some of the younger people may not have (which is strange, considering I am only 18), but people that grew up in the 70's/80's my have. Not only are they a great band and have an excellent vocalist, but there style of music is amazing. It is a lot like Big Band music, but us much faster beat. The lyrics to the songs are not the same you would expect from big band music (more like rock music), but work very well with the music itself. For those that have never heard them I would suggest that you listen to at least one of their songs (preferably Big & Bad).
16. ...Sayla Mass at the end of Mobile Suit Gundam? I have never seen the end of the original MS Gundam, and cannot seem to find any info on where Sayla disappeared to. Did she return to Earth? the colonies? back to Zeon? Or did she die or simply disappear? It has been driving me mad.
17.
Originally posted by b3atr3d Your library has anime?
Yep. Most of it is supplied by the owner of the comic shop that is a few blocks away. The anime is so popular that the library set up an Anime Review Board and has caught the eye of the libraries in nearby towns (who are now featuring anime titles). That is the advantage of living near a medium sized town that is the fastest growing town in the state.
18. Well, thanks to a local store trying to get rid of an overabundance of PS2 "Classic" games last week, I now have three new games (and for under $45). First off, my favorite: Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies For some reason I get the feeling that there was never an AC 1-3 to choose from. Anyway, this is a flight sim/fighter pilot game set in the near future (2004). A group called the Eurusians (bad spelling) contols most of a large land mass (maybe Asia) and has used a weapon named Stonehenge (used to shoot down larger metor fragments) to shoot at aircraft and thus gain control of the air and thus most of the country. You play as Mobius 1, an ace pilot for ISAF (Independent States Allied Force), and have to play 18 missions over the course of a year to regain control of the country. All in all this is one great game. There are 18 aircraft you can buy, with the money you make on missions. Each aircraft appears only after you shoot one down in the game, making air combat a must. There are also four levels of diffculty, with two extras opened when the hardest level is beaten. Unlike most games the levels do not always have a set goal. Some tell you to shoot down certain targets, while others tell you to score so many points within the time limit and continue to bust up anything with the remaining time. Best of all, if you take lots of damage or run out of ammo you can simply head south and refuel/rearm back at base. Next up: Virtua Fighter 4 An interesting, if not occasionally frustrating game. It is a fighting game much like Mortal Kombat, but include a longer list of moves for characters and the ability to perform "reversals" that actually turn your opponents attacks back on them. In addition, you can create and train an AI character and watch as it kicks people around in the Vs. or Kumite (tournament mode). The only down-side is that the AI does not seem any brighter then the game AI. So in the end you might get mad as it just stands there with a "?" in the training box waiting to get pummeled. On a side note. Does anyone know what the game means when the Training Box says "Play" during a Vs. fight? I have not figured it out yet. And finally: Max Payne Interesting concept, but poor set-up. The load time it slow, the "graphic novel" is annoying, and the slow motion death of an enemy/ally always comes at a bad time. The selection of weapons is nice and the levels are semi-realistic. On the other hand the "dream levels" are a royal pain (no pun) and also quite irritating. And worst of all the entire story goes in a circle (starting at one point then starting in the past only to return to point "A"). The only thing amusing is the "Bullet Time" which slows the action and gives you the chance to dodge bullets while aiming in real time. Simply put, I would not really tell anyone to buy this game without first renting it and seeing if they like it (even the cheats do not work right).
19. Yep. I rented it from the library over the weekend. So far I have only seen the first four episodes, but find it to be one of the funniest animes I have seen. Then again, I did always find lecherous humor to be one of the funniest types (thanks to the fact that I am a "child of the 90's"). Now I know that I will have to rent the rest of the library's (small) selection of the show.:cross:
20.
Originally posted by Rick Hunter It seemed like something scifi channel would of made and aired, not the Japanese.
You are not far from the truth. The entire movie was made in America. The only thing about it that truely had anything to do with Japan was the fact that the company was given the rights to make it by Bandai corp.
21. LOL, that is funny. The closest thing I can figure to a reason for the explosion is that an internal section was being broken down by some bacteria, which produced methane and, well, BOOM! The only thing that does not add up is how the methane would explode, since the knife would have to hit something like a rock, or more metal, rather hard to spark. Maybe it is an American plot to quietly get revenge for all the plots Europe has against us. Do not think we do not know. Europe is working with Canada. Playing posum all these years. I know what they are planning. It will.........[Transmission Termiated By The Canadian Defence Force] :p
22.
What makes an anime charachter appeal to you.
A big, bad a** gun and the urge to use it. Actually, I always like the characters that had a "righteous cause". For instance, Char Aznable and Anavel Gato (from two different Gundam series). As characters go, the ones with a righteous cause always seem to display the widest range of emotions, and always seem to have an understanding of thinks that would make a philosopher jealous. Then again, maybe I am just another crazy supporter of Zeon. :p
23. Is it just me, or does G-Saviour seem like it should not have the right to call itself a Gundam moive? I rented and watched the movie yesterday and all I can say is that allowing it to be written and made in America was a big mistake. The plot is too American, in my opinion, and the effects are very cheesy. Some of the scenes were good, like when the G-Saviour cuts through the debris field with its sword, but most of the effect would have been better with models (like they should have done with the colonies). The only other thing that really bugged me was the fact that the MS origins seemed backward. For instance, the Bugu (whichi was like a Zaku) was from the CONSENT group which was from Earth, and the GM-like designs (I forget the name) were from the colony Side 8 (or Gaea).
24.
Originally posted by Kinetic Are they showing it on Adult Swim or Toonami? If it's on Adult Swim, there will obviously be less editing, but still a lot.
Toonami. As for the editing of shows for Toonami, I am worried that they are going to completely screw up Yu Yu Hakusho when they bring it to the earlier time.
25. My thoughts, "If you got, share it." ;) But, then again, that seems to be the standard among a large percentage of males anyway. :P Belching is my specialty. I used to have fun getting in belching contests with my friends in school. As for women burping, I have an aunt that never really cared about that (until she had kids) and was a belching champion. That was a great source of humor for that side of the family (although, both sides are strange on a level rarely seen). So, to make a long story short, me, my firends and my family are all twisted, crazy, insane, etc. (But, we enjoy it) A side note: There are some situations that we are polite. Such as in a restaurant or other social funtions. After all, we are not the top of society, but we are not also not a bunch of crude, back woods jerks (at least in public).
