Wow, these are some very good poems. I wish I could get my point across with such short poetry (all my stuff has to be long or it doesn't make sense lol). But your poems were all a great read. I'm glad I took the time to look at them!

"Well, what with the different band changes, werewolves, pink markers, and cake fights," mirai said. "I think I'm right in saying that this night hasn't exactly been normal. Fun, yes. Normal, no." "Well, I'm glad you're having fun," Ruby said. "I'm having a lot of fun, too." Ruby and mirai looked around at the room, which had suddenly become more like an actual prom. The lights were dimmed slightly, the music was a little slower, and there were people dancing everywhere. "You know," Ruby said. "I think that this is the first time that this has been like a normal prom tonight." Mirai laughed; it had been exactly what he was thinking, after all.

Shin stood in the back of The Library of Criminal Activities. He had been looking all day for some leads on Zemdi, but so far he had found nothing. Shin: They've always had information before...this Zemdi guy must be trickier than I thought... It was then that Shin heard the door open. He sees Jericho walk in with three other people that he didn't recognize. Shin's eyes widen and he hides behind a bookshelf. Shin(whispering sharply): Jericho?! What the hell is he doing here?! Shin peeks out from behind the shelf and sees Jericho talking with the woman at the front desk and the other three people talking with each other. Shin: This isn't good...I'm terribly outnumbered...I can't deal with Jericho right now. It was then that Shin got an idea that he thought would not only get him close to Zemdi, but would also allow him to finally kill Jericho Inblade. Shin(lets out a deep breath): I've got to gain their trust. It's the only way. I can't find anything to do with Zemdi and it's obvious that Jericho has the inside track on him. Plus, I'll be killing two birds with one stone. But if this doesn't work...I'm a dead man... Jericho and the others start walking around the area. Shin comes out from the shelf and approaches them. Shin: How's it going, buddy? Jericho and the others look at each other and look back at Shin. Jericho: Er...do we know you? Shin walks up to Jericho and lowers his voice. Shin: Of course you know me. And I know you, Inblade. Jericho and the others take out their guns and point them at Shin. Shin: Now what is this all about? I'm just saying hello and you draw your guns on me? Not much of a welcome if you ask me. Jericho: What do you want? Shin: It's not what I want, it's what you want. Jericho raises an eyebrow skeptically. Shin: We're both after Zemdi. In fact, just about every bounty hunter in the galaxy is after him. Jericho: So? Your point is? Shin: My point is that I want to help you. Jericho: You want to help me? Shin: That's right. Jericho: What's in it for you? Shin: I could care less about the money; I've got enough to last me the rest of my life. I'm not a big spender, you know. Jericho: Get to the point! Shin: The point is that I want revenge on Zemdi. But I don't know where he is. I think that you have a pretty good idea of how to get to Zemdi. Of course, I don't think that you and your buddies could take him alone. Jericho: And you want to help us take him on. Shin: Exactly. Do you accept? Shin stood waiting patiently for Jericho's response. This was the moment of truth; would Shin's plan be a rousing success or fail miserably?

"This night just keeps getting weirder and weirder," mirai commented. "Does that mean you're not having fun?" Ruby said with a smile. "Well, I didn't say that," mirai replied. Ruby and mirai both smiled for a moment and looked to the middle of the room, where Taylor and dayday had resumed their dance. "They're both pretty good," Ruby said. "Yeah, they are," mirai said. "I'm impressed."

Writing How Many of You Have Fanfiction.net Accounts?

Really, I could care less about how many reviews my stories get or how popular they are (but I'm probably a little jaded since my most popular story only has about 17 reviews lol). I just like putting my stories/poetry up on the internet; it doesn't matter to me whether people like them or not. But I think the reviews have served a greater purpose to me. I've made lots of friends on the internet just because I sent them some e-mails answering questions about my poetry. I keep in touch with one person in particular just about every day. But to get back on topic, I really don't care how many people like my work, because I know it's not going to blow up and become a success. But, as long as it's on the internet, I'm happy. -
Wow... That's all that I could say after looking at the great looking screen shots and the amazing looking artwork. Needless to say, I'm very impressed right now. That battle system sounds very interesting as well. I really hope that the action is as fast paced as they say it will be. And the pedigree in this game is just mind-boggling. It's amazing how many big names with tons of RPG experience are working on this game; it almost seems too good to be true (hopefully, it won't be). After reading this, I have some high hopes for this game. If there's a genre that the GameCube needs more games for, it's the RPG genre. I'll defintely be on the lookout for news about this game; thanks for the heads up, James. By the way, James, do you know if the developers gave any indication as to when this game will come out?

Technically, I don't have the Super Metroid soundtrack, which is why I was talking about it in connection with the game so much. In fact, I don't own any gaming soundtracks (which is very unfortunate for me). EDIT: Another one I really like is the soundtrack from Super Mario Bros. 3. The music is really good and is so darn bouncy, it gets stuck in your head quite easily. The Hammer Bros. Fight and and Sky Land songs are both really good.

I've been listening to a lot of video game music lately and that got me wondering about Nintendo's music - it's really, really good. There are people who especially praise the music in RPGs, and I was one of them, but some of Nintendo's music really blows them away. I love the soundtracks to many of Nintendo's games. It's a really hard to choice for me to choose my favorite - it was a tight race between The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Metroid, but in the end, I have to go with Super Metroid. First of all, the music just fits the game very well. It really does sound like a high-quality Sci-Fi soundtrack. It really gets you into the mood of the game. The changes in music happen in just the right places and the music is never out of place. Secondly, the pace of the music is fantastic. It's never too fast and never too slow; it's always just right. That's what always irks me about some soundtracks is that the pace might be wrong in a couple of parts of the game. The music in this game always goes hand-in-hand with whatever situation you're in. Lastly, the soundtrack is just full of songs that I just never tire of hearing. Seriously, I could listen to this soundtrack all day and I doubt that I would get bored - it's that good. Also, Super Metroid is home to my favorite sound effect of all time, the sound that is made when you get a new item in Super Metroid (in every Metroid game, actually). It's just so damn cool!

Okay, I originally said that I thought that Final Fantasy VII had the greatest music of any video game, but I have now changed my mind. After getting an extensive listen of Super Metroid's soundtrack, I must say that this is the finest video game music I have ever heard. Every song that I've heard is just incredible; almost nothing from any video game soundtrack I've heard can even come close to Super Metroid's soundtrack.

Just look at Lebron James: He'll get about $13 million over three years with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also has a $13 million a year contract with Nike. It blew my mind when I heard that.

I could never pull an all-nighter...I don't have the willpower. The latest I've ever stayed up is about 1:00 AM. I've been going to sleep at about 10:00 PM and waking up about 5:30 AM for years; it's like clockwork for me (pun not intended).

Writing How Many of You Have Fanfiction.net Accounts?
Shinmaru replied to Brood_Mayran's topic in Creative Works
Originally posted by Lady Asphyxia Hrm. Is anyone here related with Fanfiction.net's sister site, Fictionpress.net? If not, is there a reason for you not posting original works? If so, why do you? What are your favorite genres of fanfiction writing? And have you ever come across a story that makes you stop, and say "Well...that was a waste of time," or "That was almost better than canon [The actual series/books]"?
Yep, I mentioned that I had a Fiction Press account earlier in the thread. In fact, I prefer Fiction Press to Fan Fiction, simply because Fiction Press is better run. I like posting original works because it's more challenging to think up a good story with your own characters. Anyone could take pre-made characters and make a story with them. I think it's more fun to make up your own stuff. My favorite genre of Fan Fiction is humor, but that's also the genre on Fan Fiction that's notoriously hard to find a good story for. For every good humor fic I've found on Fan Fiction, there are hundreds of God-awful stories cluttering the area (especially in the Dragon Ball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh! areas). Oh yeah, I've come across many stories that were a complete waste of time. Usually, you can just look at the title and know that it will be horrible. Sometimes, you get a pleasant surprise. I read a Final Fantasy VII fan fiction that dealt with Cloud and Sephiroth's journey to Nibelheim and the Mako Reactor. It was simply a fantastic, well-written story and remains my favorite fan fiction that I've read on FF.net. -

Anime What was the first anime that you watched?
Originally posted by Syk3 Wait -- you mean that show on Cartoon Network with cats who piloted those jets? That was an anime? o_O;
As far as I know, that wasn't Thundercats. I can't remember what the name of the show was, but I think I know what you're thinking of. My first anime was Sailor Moon. I'd watch it in the morning before going to school. After watching that, I'd watch Sonic the Hedgehog. Ah, memories... -
I definetely agree that Wario World is a great rental. In fact, it's probably one of the best rentals you can get right now (of course, I'm counting out a lot of games that are just too long to be rentals). If you rent Wario World, you're sure to get a lot of value out of it, because it's certainly not a bad game. It's just far too short.

A early "What did you do during the summer?" Essay
Shinmaru replied to a topic in General Discussion
I've probably done more this summer than I've ever done in any summer in my life. Of course, it's me, so that's not saying much lol. I've seen two movies so far (Finding Nemo and Pirates of the Caribbean), got some great games, I'm going on a trip to Las Vegas in August, I just got my drivers permit on Saturday, my driving classes start tomorrow, and I've seen lots of movies on TV that I always meant to see (like Pulp Fiction). This is what constitutes as an exciting summer for me. Come to think of it, a lot of people would probably kill for a summer like this ^_^ -
"You mean I was by the water fountain the whole time?" mirai asked increduously. "I guess so," Ruby laughed. "Funny, I usually enjoy irony," mirai said. He wet his napkin and cleaned off his shoes. Well, they were still a little dusty, but that's beside the point. "Are you finished?" Ruby asked. "Yeah," mirai said. "I'm finished."

I was just reading an old issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (as I often do) and I came across an interesting letter. It talked about how most stories about gaming in the media (news, radio, etc.) often shed games in a bad light. Example: The Columbine shootings happened because the kids played Doom, etc. However, the person made a point that for every bad gaming story, there are many inspirational gaming stories. For example, this person had a friend who was in art school who got her start drawing Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. He had another friend who eventually became an accomplished pianist after she decided to play the piano when she heard the theme from Star Ocean 2. The person who wrote the letter got into cooking because of the dishes that the chef was making in Suikoden II. Now here's a story from me: I got into writing because of gaming. I played many a game in my younger days and that led me to reading gaming magazines. I was no great reader when I was a kid; in fact I read about as fast as my brother types (i.e. slow). However, as I was reading more magazines (and asking my mom what some of the bigger words meant) I became a faster reader, which led to me branching out and reading books. Reading developed my imagination, which in turn, led me to develop a fondness for games that challenged my imagination. As my imagination grew from playing these games (like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Metroid, etc.), I started getting into writing about my favorite games. I wanted to become a better writer, so I started trying out different writing styles while continuing to write fan fiction about my favorite games (most of which I've lost, unfortunately). I'm still writing today and my love of video games is still feeding my imagination and helping me to become a better writer. EDIT: Decided to make this as an edit, because it's a little off topic. Writing is my main passion, but I don't think that I'll end up as an author. If I did, I'd either end up writing stories that I like but would never earn money from or I'd end up writing one story that got famous and I'd have to keep writing stories that were similar if I wanted to earn a living. That would get old real quickly. My dream is to use my burgeoning writing talent to move into journalism, as well - especially if it has to do with video games. To me, it's the perfect job because it combines two of my biggest passions; writing and video games. When I go to college, journalism is going to be my main focus. Who knows, I might actually achieve my dream! It already seems to me that you have a dream job, James. I'm so envious ^_^

Gaming Is anybody still addicted to Animal Crossing?
Shinmaru replied to SS5 Gogeta's topic in Noosphere
I stopped playing a couple of months ago, but I still have lots to finish up. I'm really lazy with my town lol. Plus, my house is a damn mess. It reminds me of my room at home, actually. -
Shin's ship is flying through space. Shin: I'm gonna have to do some deep research to get anything on this Zemdi guy...funny, I've never heard of him before. If he's that good at keeping his identity a secret, then I have some work ahead of me. Shin flies to the planet Persiai. It's a small blue planet that's known throughout the universe as a planet of culture. But that's not the reason Shin is going there. The reason is that this planet is also the location of the biggest stockhold of information on criminals in the entire universe. The best part is that it is available to the public. Shin could take a while counting up the number of times that this place had given him some great information. Voice: Authorization code? Shin: I'm sending it right now. Shin presses a button on his ship and his code is sent to the landing area. Voice: Proceed. Shin flies his ship to the landing area and lands in a hangar. He climbs out of the ship and walks outside to the front. Shin: Taxi! A small hovercar floats in front of Shin. He climbs in and closes the door. Shin: Library of Criminal Activities. Driver: Yes, sir. The taxi driver drives off.

There's some stereotyping at my school, but I've just never paid attention to it. Stereotyping just seems pretty silly to me.

I've just never liked them. ICP isn't really the type of band that I can get into.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel It's so odd the bands people here think aren't well known. Just adding some news that was reported yesterday. It seems that the girl in question almost ODed on pills a couple months ago. This will probably work out well for the defense because they could make it seem like the woman's story is now less credible than it already is (and to be honest, it isn't very credible to begin with). Of course, there's the slim chance the prosecution could use this in saying that Kobe took advantage of a girl with a fragile psyche, but I don't think that would hold any water in a case like this.

Well, I'm glad we got that taken care of. Making people angry on accident is not something I enjoy. ~ Mirai stared down at the cake on his shoes. It was then that he decided that he must go on a journey...for a napkin. "I got to get this frosting off of my shoes before it hardens," mirai said to himself. And with that, he walked off to get a napkin. "Hopefully, I won't lose Ruby again," mirai said. He went to the punch table, which was in shambles, but he found a few clean napkins and began cleaning his shoes. Of course, there was still some leftover frosting on them. "I wish I knew where some water was," mirai said. "Maybe Ruby will know. It's worth a shot; I have no idea where the water is." Then, mirai walked off and, ironically, left the water fountain which had been right behind him all along. He just never saw it.

Location, location, location--Where are you from?
Shinmaru replied to Baron Samedi's topic in General Discussion
You should come to L.A. sometime if you're used to smog. The smog is so thick down there it looks like a permanent stream of fog rolled down there.
