1. THE REALMS -rebirth- Peace can last only so long... In these times were everything seems to be sublime, there is always conflict just around the bend. Twentie two years ago the universe was in complete and total turmoil. A darkness was spreading rapdily, killing. And only one marvelous weapon stood in the way of it. This weapon was hidden beyond in the realms of Myrith, the core of the whole universe. A small band of warriors sought to regain control of the universe and bring peace back. That story ended like any other fairy tale, ending with the sun rising upon a happily ever after... Not all secrets were revealed however. We must once again open our minds to impossibility. For old shadows lurk still, gaining power. --- Alright so there's some background for you, the general plot of the Realms series (Realm of Reality, Imagination, and Infinite) and small little bit of what we've gotta accomplish here. In the realms series, the villain was an immortal named Hawk, who was obsessed with destroying the entire universe. He came close also. The final battle, was fought within the mechanical alter universe, which structured the real universe. Hawk met his doom there, and than there was peace. They thought they had wiped his existence from the face of the immortal worlds and the entire universe. But unfortanatly, that was not the case for there still lays an egg within the alter universe. This egg, is the key to bringing back an old darkness. --- Here's what I need. Name: (anything is good except like average named you here in your everday life) Age: (anything under 22) Description: (a pic would be nice but it's not required) Background: (where was your character in the past 22 years) Weapons: Special Abilities: I'll post mine when I see some sign ups here.
2.
Eh... Black Dhalia Murder is okay. I don't like the vocals too much. It's almost like a Heavy Metal stereotype... really loud screaming. Sure, it's good sometimes, but it is pretty cliche.[/QUOTE} You'll find all that cliched crap at Victory Records. Crap like Darkest Hour, Sinai Beach, Scars of Tommorow, and those bands. A bunch of snowboarder lookin guys who think they can play music and really it's just a load of stupid screaming, hitting your guitar, and pounding on drums as fast as you can with little to no sense of direction. On the other hand we've got good death metal too like Morbid Angel, Facecage, and Meshuggah.

Heavy Metal
Naglfar is probably my favorite Black Metal band because although they're relentless, they have a very keen sense of melodic overtone that gives their music a really cool feel.
Yeah, they're way good. I'm surprised they're not as big as say Cradle with that kind of melodic power behind the lyrics. Going back to the original point of this entire topic. I've been a metalhead since around the 8th grade, (is a junior now). It's honestly the most brutal genre alive, one of the most contreversial genre's, and one with the most variety. Favorite bands would have to include: Rob Zombie (my absolute favorite), Murderdolls/Wednesday 13/FDQ, Scum of the Earth, The Graveyard Boulevard, Trash Light Vision (more punkish, oh well), Static-X, Systematic, Blind Guardian, Children of Bodom, Demon Hunter, Cradle of Filth, Dope, Facecage, Mushroomhead, and Slipknot. I once told this like serious death metal guy at my school to screw off cuzz he was saying that Slipknot sucked. I was like, you know nothing and have no sense of variety. Honestly, variety is what makes this genre great.
4. They're pretty good but I have yet to listen to a whole lot of them. I guess I was a little reluctant to listen to them after seeing all that other **** that was put out when I first got into heavier metal like Darkest Hour, and the victory records bull. I'll take a look and see what I think.
5. After taking on Nobunaga's demon form in Onimusha 3, it kind of redefined what I look for in the final boss in any game. He had alot of different techniques that he used and he had n oclearly defined fighting pattern which provides alot more of challenge.
6. Lol. Yeah, Oregon is a weird lil' state. I'm pretty glad I get that much but alot of stuff over here is more expensive also. I forgot to mention I get paid bi-weekly as well.

Facecage

This is an awesome metal band that I discovered while I was at a Slipknot fan site. The band's name is Facecage and Slipknot frontman: Corey Taylor, is going to be producing the next album. Here's what he has to say about the band.
STONE SOUR/SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor is currently hard at work with Midwestern Based FACECAGE on their next independent release. FACECAGE is and independent Midwestern U.S. metal band. Formed in 2001, FACECAGE has grown into a powerhouse live act and an independent D.I.Y. success story. Taylor describes the band as "...the heaviness of Sepultura, the groove of Sabbath, the dark melodies of the Midwest and the drive of one hundred bands from either coast." Said Taylor of the band: "I've seen them work very hard, go through various changes, pay their dues and become a great band over the years. I'm very proud of them. Success doesn't come without sweat". When asked about the recording process so far, Taylor remarked "very VERY well.", and, "I see them breaking out further and hitting the national circuit. If they can stay as competitive, poignant and focused as they have in the past, they have a chance of making it." Last summer, Taylor was approached by longtime friend and collaborator; Denny Harvey, about the possibility of him producing the next album. Harvey, and his (515) Management Group have managed the band for the last two years. Said Harvey: "Corey has been a friend and confidant to FACECAGE for some time and he was ecstatic to be a part of this. He has watched FACECAGE go from playing clubs and paying their dues to becoming a Midwestern success story. This is really the next step for the band and a chance for them to work together, something Corey has been interested in for awhile now." FACECAGE has independently released two albums so far: "FACECAGE" (2001) AND "II" (2004). When asked about the future of FACECAGE, Taylor had some stern advice for those who would stand in the band's way: "Whoever signs them better be ready to keep up, because if they can't they've wasted a great band's opportunity. So don't waste our time if you're not ready for history"
The band's next release, III, is going to be released some time in the summer of 06'.
8. I work at Dominos Pizza. It's an alright job. I've bonded with my co workers really well and they've helped teach me. For awhile I was too scared to do anything else in the store but do the ovens which pretty much means I take the pizza out of the oven when it's cooked enough, cut it up, put it in a box, and keep going. Now I do all sorts of stuff from taking orders to slapping out some pizza and topping it. I'll have worked there for about 6 months this December 16th. I get paid minimum wage, which is $7.25 here in Oregon.
9. I thought the ending was perfect. It left so much room for a third film and the idea of making
Amanda the new killer was great.
What got me the most was that the only people the movie made you feel sorry for was Jigsaw himself and Amanda
and than it turns out that she's just playing them the entire time. You felt betrayed
but knew it was pure genius.
10. I thought it was the worst of the four movies thus far. The actors really didn't convey the same quality acting as they had in the first two. I wasn't much of a fan of the third one either. The new director didn't really focus on the parts of the books which contained the most rising action like the original director did. Dumbledore ruined the movie for me. He didn't fit his character which I think is important. When you go and watch all of the movies, it's almost painful how obvious the mood change is. Plus there doesn't seem to be a real cause for the change. I swear, adding maybe an additional 10 to 20 minutes to the movie to explain just a few things and/or add some crucial scenes could've saved it.

The Boondocks

Huey is the greatest character in anime these days, in my opinion. The Boondocks has finally tipped anime in more of the pop culture direction instead of these tight pants school boy outfit type animes. I love it! Finally an anime with seriously baggy clothing and present day themes. No stupid monsters. I can't get enough of the profanity either. It's hilarious. Adult Swim has found their jackpot!
12. There's been alot of these threads springing up lately so I thought I'd bring this one up. If you have a job or career what is it. What do you do and how do you like it? I work at Domino's Pizza. I guess it's alright. It's like the McDonalds of the pizza industry really. Ever other day there's a new person working there. Ok, so that was exaggerated but oh well. It's not an enviroment where you can easily mantain customer service however. You can get easily stressed and considering the n00b factor where there are new employees all the time, you're lucky to find a time where something doesn't mess up. There's fast food for ya.
13. My first real crush was in my 8th grade year. There was this girl named Amber and she was like the only other person in the school who liked anime. So I just talked to her and we became friends. I eventually started looking at her differently. We dated a bit. I can credit her for bringing me out of my adolescence and showing me the real world. These days she lives in a different town and we hardly ever talk. Meh, things change.
14. All my greatest fears can be summed up into one single very sickening word. Paligamy. They're all sick inbreeding bastards in their little private communities.
15. Alright. Not sure if this is supposed to go in the Media Forum or here in the Louge. It kind of deals with both. Anyways. This is disgusting.
Young Singers Spread Racist Hate Duo Considered the Olsen Twins of the White Nationalist Movement Prussian Blue Oct. 20, 2005 ? Thirteen-year-old twins Lamb and Lynx Gaede have one album out, another on the way, a music video, and lots of fans. They may remind you another famous pair of singers, the Olsen Twins, and the girls say they like that. But unlike the Olsens, who built a media empire on their fun-loving, squeaky-clean image, Lamb and Lynx are cultivating a much darker personna. They are white nationalists and use their talents to preach a message of hate. Known as "Prussian Blue" ? a nod to their German heritage and bright blue eyes ? the girls from Bakersfield, Calif., have been performing songs about white nationalism before all-white crowds since they were nine. "We're proud of being white, we want to keep being white," said Lynx. "We want our people to stay white ? we don't want to just be, you know, a big muddle. We just want to preserve our race." Lynx and Lamb have been nurtured on racist beliefs since birth by their mother April. "They need to have the background to understand why certain things are happening," said April, a stay-at-home mom who no longer lives with the twins' father. "I'm going to give them, give them my opinion just like any, any parent would." April home-schools the girls, teaching them her own unique perspective on everything from current to historical events. In addition, April's father surrounds the family with symbols of his beliefs ? specifically the Nazi swastika. It appears on his belt buckle, on the side of his pick-up truck and he's even registered it as his cattle brand with the Bureau of Livestock Identification. "Because it's provocative," explains April of the cattle brand, "to him he thinks it's important as a symbol of freedom of speech that he can use it as his cattle brand." Teaching Hate Songs like "Sacrifice" ? a tribute to Nazi Rudolf Hess, Hitler's deputy Fuhrer ? clearly show the effect of the girls' upbringing. The lyrics praise Hess as a "man of peace who wouldn't give up." "It really breaks my heart to see those two girls spewing out that kind of garbage," said Ted Shaw, civil rights advocate and president of the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund ? though Shaw points out that the girls aren't espousing their own opinions but ones they're being taught...wanna read more? follow link Prussian Blue Blog
Their official forums?? http://www.officialprussianblue.net/forums/index.php I checked out the board and it's nothing but these ignorant narrowminded people who remind me slightly of Jack Thompson (lawyer involved in GTA Vice City drama) I don't blame em though. Probably alot of people hate them for what they believe in. Racism against anybody who is not white, insulting people, KKK activity. This is just sick. Two big events occured last night to do with this crap. One was an actual thing on Primetime about the band and their beliefs and the second is a bunch of these anti-racism people posting tons of crap all over the board only to get a ban. Thoughts anybody?
16. Plain and simple question. Does anyone here know of any good underground bands. My definition of an underground band would be one that takes some time to find online and very few people here on the OB could recognize. Here's mine: Newlydeads: It's a type of Mallcore type of band. They've had two albums, Dead End and a self titled album. Trash Light Vision: Acey Slade of the Murderdolls band. It sounds like a fusion of old punk rock with metal. Rikets: They've been advertised in Metal Edge for the past two months. A big band like Slipknot but they sound different. Like Static X with 9 members. Larry and his Flask: Lol, actually this a local band of mine but you can search them up on google and get a song called Cowboy Paul which they did. Yeah, post bands you know of and would like to get out into the open.
17. I'm so mad. I was hoping Kane was going to come back with his mask again. I agree the storylines have been complete **** recently. They haven't been taking full advantage of what they could. But now they're back on the USA network so we should see some of the old excitment we saw back in the day. All I care about though is Kane, cuzz he's my favorite wrestler. Although I doubt it would happen, judging by Kane's focus on Cena when he returned last Monday, it would be nice to him wanting revenge on Lita. Maybe a tag up with Matt Hardy or something even though Kane's the one that sort of started this mess for Matt.

Make a Band

Hmm. I got this from the thirteendeadkids board. I dunno if we've already had one of these but here's how it goes. If you're into music you've obiously wondered how two people would sound if they played in the same band. Build youy dream band here. Basically you can choose anyone in music eer and you have to form a band with at least 3 members and at most 9. The one thing though is that the people you put in it must be able to play the instrument you assign them. Here's mine. Vocals: Rob Zombie Drummer: John Dolyman (System of a Down) Guitar 1: Acey Slade (Murderdolls, Dope) Guitar 2: Matt "Pigg" Motgomery (Wednesday 13, Amen) Bass: Siggy (Powerman 5000) I dunno. I picked my favorites from my favorite bands. Siggy, Pigg, and Acey would work well together because they're all into playing really fast unique. Rob is friends with Pigg. He might make Acey grow a beard :animeswea John is my only real big concern. He worked with Scum of the Earth so he's used to the horror type scene but meh. His devotion is to System of a Down so he'd have to switch between both bands which than eventually would probably leave. His replacement would be Nick Oshiro because Nick likes the fast pace.

Survivor!

I saw this past Thursday's second episode of Guatamalla. It was really good. The thing about Survivor is that when you watch it you're instantly rooting for someone. I'm personally going for Nakum with Bobby Jon because next to Lex Bobby Jon is my favorite survivor. I doubt either Steph or Bobby will win the million, they're there just to attract attention to the series from those who don't watch it. I do think that with this series they're kind of trying to go back to the original elements of the series without all the stupid gimmicks and twists. I like how the teams have been neck and neck in mostly all challenges though. It makes for some good watching.
20.
 That's because Black Metallers are can be the most pretentious and whiny group of music listeners EVER.
That and those death metal heads who listen to Cannibal Corpse! And only Cannibal Corpse. if there's no Cannibal Corpse than you can just forget the whole program. Slipknot, I can deal with. They're not aimed at looking like hip hop dudes. People always judge by the sound. If anybody would just sit their ***** down and read the lyrics they'd realize that not only are these guys really dedicated to being creepy but that they really don't like hip hop. KoRn, I could care less about. They're music is alright. It's kind of formed a weird fan cult of the "dyed blue goatee type people". I do admit though, I hate Linkin Park with a passion and hope they recieve a fiery death from our "real" metal sound. Very few people know that metal evolved from blues. So take Nu Metal and you'll prolly find the same thing. As long as we're not putting Rob Zombie or Murderdolls in the Nu Metal genre I'm fine. They'll always remain in the glam rock/metal genre for me.
21. This RP will contain intense scenes of Violence and Language. Sexuality will be a possibility Wait & Bleed When will I finally find reality. I've spent far too long in this dark neverland. I've waited here for so long believing that there's a way out. I have no idea how to proceed. I've been presented with the choice of going forward and risking my mentality to the darkness of this world or staying here and hoping forever. There's so much more to this than I can concieve. Every aspect of my life has been put forward and it has created this hell. I must find the answers to these questions. *** Welcome to your mind. The thing we think nothing about but without we would die. We fill it with information and than we die. We pollute it with intoxicants for a quick pleasure which we will later regret. In death our reality becomes a compilation of our experiences in life. Reality becomes whatever we want. For some it is a pleasent reality filled with joy and a comfortable enviroment without any danger. For others it's only a continuation of their life and how hellish it must have been. Souls interact in different ways also, both in life and in death. There are crossovers of realitys. Sometimes it turns into a fusion of two realitys. Those conciousness enough to realize that they are residing in what their mind has created, live their lives in search of the truth...and escape. Seven different realitys are one. An adventure to seek the truth of reality will ensue across these seven different realitys. When the truth is found what will happen? -- Alright so, obviously I need seven people for this rpg. Please, I'm looking for expereinced and mature rpers, so basiclly, unless I approve of you're sign up and you're a New Member to Otakuboards, than forget about it. Other than that count on being added. I need: Character Name: (Anything) Age: (Anything is cool Description: (Try to be unique) Background: (Expereinces in life) Remember that you're character is in a dream reality. Thanks. ? BoX ?
22. Well. I took psychology this year for one of my electives. The guy, his name is Mr. Erickson, is the biggest anti-communist guy in the town. He's got posters in his room of anti Soviet Union symbols and stuff. So when I first got in there we basiclly has to be admitted to enter by promising to him that we were not communist favoring. Than if you disagreed with him he'd isntantly place you as a communist or someone who favors communism and ignored you the rest of the day, except of course if it interfered with your work. I wasn't pointed out but I have a feeling not one of us is going to make it through the trimester without being accused of being a communist.
23. There's alot of different explanations for these things you see both scientific and spiritual. I really don't know much about these sorts of things. Alot of my friends would put their entire fortune in a bet that ghosts are real. I believe on some sort of otherwordly spirit that can move about the world. I mean, there's way to many people claiming they've seen the supernatural for something we don't know about to not be there. Angels and Demons are real but maybe not in the same sense that we think they are. Alot of people look at these words and think of human type figure which either favors good or evil with their appearence. And they very well could. Heaven and Hell and all this stuff about people's conciousness going there after death I don't believe in. It's like they just want to have a perfect Earth. It's all dream. Ghosts could be those stuck ion purgatory trying to escape. That's just one of many theorys. Although some time ago the Catholic church denied the existence of Purgatory and was using it to control the people of their religion. It's really complicated and alot of people want to find the truth. Well the truth is that you can't find your answers in this world. There's no way to find out either. If you want to believe in something that's fine. It's better than not believing and living a dull life. Just don't put money down for it.
24. Black Sabbath. I think they're really what brought us to where we are now. They really hit the dark metal scene off and for that I love them. I'm not saying Zeppelin is bad. I love all their songs. Sabbath and Zeppelin are almost equal in my book but darkness has consumed so much of the rock scene right now you've gotta give them the credit. Edit: Megadeth. both bands are good. Metallica I haven't heard much. I own 3 Megadeth Albums and I love them all. They've got a unique theme to their music and that's what makes them awesome. Metallica seemed to just sit there and make music. Megadeth did so much more with their tunes. The next one you do should Cradle of Filth vs Dimmu Borgir or Rob Zombie vs Wednesday 13.

Survivor!

I watched a little bit from every season. My favorite survivor was Lex just because he was quiet and yet badass at the same time. My favorite season was the outback and I'm getting tired of seeing the same island places over and over again. If they do another season it should be in the desert again.
