1. As far as the movies go, most of them are not supposed to be included in the TV series timeline. The only ones I remember that are supposed to be included is the Bardock movie and the with Trunks before he went to the past. The only movies besides those that seem like they could be part of the TV series without any loop holes is the Garlic junior movies. The only problem with Dead Zone is what has previously been pointed out. I didn't notice Raditz saying their planet was destroyed three years ago, wish I had recorded it,heh. Too bad the movies couldn't be included in the storyline somehow, if they were Goku would be a whole lot stronger from those big fights. :D
  2. wow this anime throws me for a loop every episodes. Everything I gotta say about Ep4's goin' in Spoiler form, heh.
Last time's loop was finding out the hooker was the tutor, this time it's lil' slugger getting caught the way he did. It was hilarious how it happened and I'm surprised that they showed his face. Being paranoid about this anime, I'm thinking it wasn't him but a copy cat, somehow.
Can't wait to see what the next episode does.
  3. Ep3 Spoiler:
Anyone else floored after seeing Ichi's tutor's alternate self?!
I've got my theories and I'll just mention this parallel I've seen. I've forgotten the names at the moment, but yeah here's a theory.
The Relieved and the Victim, a balance of Good and Bad if you will.
Ep:1
The girl who creator the creepy little doll was relieved and the reporter guy was a victim. I don't see how getting attacked relieved him.
Ep2:
Ichi was relieved since he was cleared, but I don't think the kid he hated was relieved to get his block knocked off.
Ep3:
The tutor was relieved of course, but what of Maria? If she's gone for good, then she's another victim.
I'm liking the direction this Anime is going, each episode is interesting in it's own way. I really liked the
battle between the Tutor and Maria and the tutor's fear of losing, that was great writing there.
Heh there's a reason I said Hopefully the next Ep grabs me at the bottom of my post. I know the whole don't judge an anime by the first ep. rule, ya pounced on me too soon,Otaku America. :p After seeing ep.3 I like the anime now, The first two episodes didn't feel right, but the third one's got me in now. The Speed Alter's quickly becoming my favorite and I'm starting to get curious about the direction this anime's going. Understanding the concept better I like the idea, don't think this is a spoiler, these guys grab the materials around them to make the weapons they use, that's pretty cool. Question: Anyone know why the little girl dreams the emotions Kazuma's having? If it's a spoiler don't answer, heh.
  5. Really I just see the distinctions as how Bloodseeker put it. Anime's the label for Japanese animation while Cartoon's been our name for Western Animation. Western animation and Japanese Animation have influenced eachother over time. When anime first came out, some influence came from Disney cartoons. What goes around comes around, with Japanese animation influenceing cartoons like Teen Titans. What exactly do you call a normal show? If your saying Anime and Western Cartoons, then here's some difference. Anime use expressions like :animecry: and :animeknow and :animeswea , but that was an obvious one. Western Cartoons rarely have 'to be continued' episodes. Western cartoons rarely have character development, since it doesn't really matter when a lot of cartoons are adventure of the week or villain of the week style. They do have some character development, but it usually happens once a season. Western Cartoons rarely have good fights in Cartoons, I can't explain why, they just don't. I can't even think of one good fight at the moment. What are these so called "Rule's of Anime"? Animations don't have to follow any rules besides obviously being Animated. The only guess I have as to what these "Rules" are, are the general differences between Anime and Western Cartoons.
  6.
*After seeing Ep 34 and 35* Okay Bleach is required to be on AS now, if it gets with CN and not TechTV or one of the other channels. There's no way Toonami's ever gonna show a dead guy, after ShiShio's death in Rurouni Kenshin on Toonami, I'm convinced of that.
Ep's 36 is gonna be great if they show what I wanna see
Sure Capt 11th Squad and his Liu. are gonna be funny but I really wanna see Chad in a fight with a Death God. I'm pretty damn sure Byakuya's not a softie, he's a mean noble, and they're never nice, heh. It might not of been Gin who did the kill, but the fact he's smiling kinda doesn't help. I'm thinking Aizen staged it, or faked getting killed somehow. I'm hoping that of course because I really wanna see what everyone's sword forms are. The desperation in Kira and Hinamori's voices were great, and the yelling too. Makes me wish voice actors here in the US were able to sound as authentic as the Sayuus(SP?).
I'm already dying to see Ep 36. I just can't wait darn it. :animesmil
  7. Oh god that was such a great show. I vaguely remember somethings about it, but I remember loving it. It was just really really funny, my friends and I have been hunting down any way possible to get our hands on the old stuff...legally, but so far nothing.
  8. After further investigation, season two is episodes 18-26. So if there was a new season coming it would have to be the 3rd season. How unfortunate, but I'm okay with it,heh.
With the way things went, a movie or OAV would be nice, especially a Movie.
9. I don't know what to think of Bo-7, it's gonna be pretty interesting to say the least. I'm curious about IGPX, looks like it'll be good, but I'm wondering if the characters from the mini series will be on IGPX at some point and what will they be like on top of that if they are there. I gotta agree with Dagger about Bleach, I'd want that anime to be edited as little as possible and AS is the place to put it for that. There are just some things about it I feel that Toonami would change and mess up. I guess it's because of AS's current trend of edits that I feel this way.
  10. I don't think it was filler, I think they just felt like taking a funny break from Ichigo's serious journey to save Rukia. I was curious what everyone else was doing back in the living world anyway so it was perfect, heh. The preview from 32 to 33 was perfect, that was soooo good, heh. Ep 32 was great, after a good battle learning about Rukia and Renji's past was perfect. I'm curious how long this series can go, I'm sure there's gonna be another Arc after this one, since there was that
huge hollow 15 episodes back
. Since the Manga's still not over and is still pretty fresh, I'm sure this series will go on for quite a while. wow I said Perfect a lot.
  11. It's come to the states and now I'm curious. Obvious question first, were there any edits to the first ep.? This anime is very well detailed and I really like the point made at the beginning of the first ep. Man the opening and ending themes bother me a lot. The opening is just so creepy, and the ending gives off a weird impression that I can't explain. Since I've watched Lain I gotta compare the two rght off the bat, no pun intended. Things just don't make any sense, I already have my guesses and I'm sure I won't know the answer for another 12 weeks. That reporter guy was sleezy, but ya gotta hand it to his investigative abilities, and that part when he recounts what the coworkers said was cool. They did a good job making the guy a hated character.
I wonder how bad he would have been if he didn't get whacked in the first ep.

That doll is just plain scary, how the hell did that become a best seller?
This anime should make for an interesting couple of months.

Unfortunately I don't feel the same enthusiasm everyone else feels. The first episode wasn't all that good in my view, but sometimes the first episode isn't the one to grab me. The animation was great and the characters meshed well, but things just didn't feel right. I wish I could elaborate better on the first episode, but I've forgotten parts of it already... :animedepr Hopefully the next episode grabs me.
  13. This is a great anime and I'm happy it's come to the states and that it's on AS. The fights are great and sorta seem realistic in a way, heh. The chemistry between Jin, Mugen, and Fuu is great. There are so many good episodes in this series, I can only think of 1 I didn't like. Cough
Zombies, and that's only cause the next ep. made completely no notice of it at all.
The best ep. has got to be
23, BASEBALL!, I'm really curious how the conversation between the Americans and Japanese will work. It was one last fun time, right before things got super serious with the final three episodes.
Jin's my fav, he's just so cool, but the best character outside of the trio has got to be
The detective, unfortunately I forgot his name.
Something I'm really curious about, where did you get the info about there being another season coming Jin? I'm curious and wanna read the source.
The ending was perfect, but I wouldn't mind seeing them on another adventure, heh.
*Clap*
  14. Hope I don't get hurt for bumping this thread back up, heck I'm surprised it even needs to be bumped. Currently at Ep. 32,This anime is downright incredible and I'm completely surprised it hasn't been licensed yet, yeah I think it's that good. The anime has a great mix of action, comedy, and some drama. The preview for the next episode is always funny and having Kon introduce a different Squad member at the end is cool as well. The Op.s and End.s are really good and match the series really well with their timing.
Ichigo's rematch with Renji was awesome, heck all of his fights have been great. Ishida's cool with his bow, but unfortunately Orihime's not doing too great. Hopefully she gets stronger. Chad's supposedly really powerful, but we never get to see him in action, I really hope we get to see him in a fight soon. Curious if Genji will get any stronger or will he just be a bystander all the time? Something I'm curious about, since Ichigo's in the next world, I wonder if he'll see his mother in a future episode. That would be interesting to see.
I could go on for a long time about this anime, but I don't have the time unfortunately so I'll stop there. I sure do hope more people see this anime, it's way too good to miss. But then again there's a lot of good anime out there right now.
  15. Champloo's great, I've told everyone I know they must see it, and Metropolis. I am worried about seeing Champloo because of two things: 1. I'm afraid they may mess up the voice acting and 2. I'm pretty damn sure they're gonna edit some stuff down the line and I really do not like edits. I'm also curious if they've edited Metropolis. Guess I'll find out Saturday night.
  16. Guess I'll be the first to post in on the 26th ep. I knew we'd get a 26th ep, should have called it earlier, heh. Since GITSAC had one more ep to go, there was no way they were not gonna show about FMA ep. Kinda sucks since ep 25 would have been perfect for FMA's season to end on.
Interesting how both FMA and GITSAC had a major character killed
Last minute thoughts on ep 25 and thoughts on 26:
Yep pretty sad, the coolest character in FMA died doing what he could, he was really starting to get badass with those knives too. We also got introduced to another deadly sin, sloth. We saw the other three a few episodes back, but who knows which person is matched with which name. Nothing I can say about voices that hasn't been already said, I personally didn't notice anything wrong with em though. As for ep 26, man is Winry good with a wrench, not only is she good at making things with her tools but she's also pretty dangerous with em. The old mechanic remembering Pinako was hilarious, curious how she got so short from the image that guy had. The relationship between Ed and Winry is interesting to say the least. Winry's relationship with the Elrics adds a layer to the anime that I'm not sure is good or bad. Winry wants to know what's going on with them, but they can't tell her no matter what she does. She was gonna completely break down if Al didn't show up with some guests. Now we have to wait a couple months to see why Al and Ed are so scared of their teacher and why she's come for them. I'm also curious how they'll react when they finally get the news.
17. 1. Age: 18 2. Gender: Male 3. Where are u from? (nationality, country) American 4. How did u come across anime?Apparently watched Akira with mother as an infant, but earliest memory of seeing anime is watching Ninja Scroll with my mom and dad. 5. Do you think Anime influences u as a person? Explain Yes it has, the belief that humanity can survive and thrive during great trials is a recurring theme in anime that has planted itself in my very core. I believe anything is possible no matter the odds. 6. Research shows that anime is increasingly popular with the western world. Why do you think this is so? Of course it's increasingly popular in the western world, more anime is pooring out from the Eastern world and the old walls of misunderstanding are slowly coming down. 7. What attracts you to anime?Other, It's just another form of media I watch. I watch movies, cartoons, sitcoms, the news, anime, and a lot of other things. I get excited over new movies, new shows, new episodes of favorite shows and so forth; which also translates into anime. 8. Is your interest in Anime, in any way related to an interest in Japan or to learn about Japenese society? I have always been interested in Asia in general, so in turn I am interested in Japanese culture and society, but my interest in japan does not affect my interest in anime. 9. Have you taken a Japanese language class or been to Japan? No, but I intend on doing so in the future. Japan is one of many great places I'd like to visit. 10. Have you learned anything about Japanese culture, and if so, give 3 specific examples?Sure, but these may be complete misconceptions. 1.Food is best eaten quickly and with chop sticks. :D 2.Japan really likes American stuff for some odd reason. 3.Robots are everywhere. :animesmil
  18. Envy is a guy?! Since Envy could shape shift I figured she just prefered to be a flat chested chick in her regular form. Whether Envy's a man or woman I guess depends on the voice actor. In Japan Envy's male and in America Envy's Female, but it's only for that form. Envy's voice changes with each form so I'm guessing the people who were in charge of voices thought a female voice was meant for that form.
  19. It's an interesting show with an interesting idea. I think as far as cliches go: they must of just had the mamodo idea and nothing else so they used cliches or they used cliches on purpose for effects. The comedy is good, I found myself laughing a few times. When Zatch decides to attack with his little box toy I was floored, even though I knew it was coming. It was just so obvious yet funny anyway. Something I find curious is that in every episode there's some drama going on, Kiyo watching Zatch get beaten up is one example. Another would be when Zatch is alone on the streets crying his eyes out. Action's great, there's plenty of explosions to keep things interesting. Oh yeah I like the song too. I'm curious how long this anime is, the possibilities of an anime like this could drag on for a long time. Things are a bit wacky and weird, I'm curious how long they can keep going before they go stale.
  20. This is gonna be interesting...very interesting. The professor doesn't look right and buttercup doesn't give off the badass vibe the PPS one some how does. I don't like the idea of weapons either since they were so powerful on their own without weapons. Aside from those minor gripes, this looks like it's gonna be an interesting anime that could hit or miss depending on the person.
  21. Sorry but I've got 11 animes and I couldn't bring myself to drop one. 11.Tenchi Muyo Pretty sure a lot of women aren't gonna like me for having on the list, but this is one of the first animes I've seen so it has a place in my heart. It wasn't the fact that Tenchi had all these girls on him that drew me, it was how funny the characters were as they fought over him and I actually liked the storyline. 10.Serial Experiments Lain Biggest brain **** I've seen. FLCL atleast made sense in a way, I've watched this Anime in it's entirety 5 times and I still don't understand the whole thing. 9.Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure Kinda the same as Tenchi Muyo, women all over the guy and the guys pretty powerful. The jealousy of the female characters made for some funny moments and the storyline was pretty good as well. Dr. Sinata's the best! 8.R.O.D. OVA Haven't seen the TV series so I can't comment on that, but I loved the OVA. The Paper made the ability to control paper very bad ***. The idea of having historical figures trying to bring the extinction of mankind was great. The animation was well done and the episodes played out like a movie. People wish they had the power of fire or water, I wish I had the power to control paper. 7.Rurouni Kenshin This anime didn't just draw me, it drew my whole family! The sword fights and characters are great and it does well in it's serious to humor shifts. After Shishioh things kind of slowed down for me, but it's still a great anime. 6.DB/Z/GT Another anime that will always be in my heart. The original was very funny, especially in the beginning when Goku was curious about everyone and pat them. Half of the Innuendo was lost on me back then, but now I find it hilarious. The fights didn't last beyond 2 episodes until around the end with Piccolo too. The Z frenzy of blond hair and giant fireballs dragged on at times, but like a fan at a wrestling match I just kept cheering my hero on. GT was a nice way to end it, but God dang! Half of the aliens they fought were ugly as sin. 5.Midori No Hibi This anime's got the most insane idea yet, I swear the creators were on something to come up with it. The story of a teenage hoodlum who somehow has a miniture girl for a right hand! As the story progressed I wanted him to make out with his hand and felt weird for thinking that. The action bits are incredible and there's a lot of hilarious moments throughout each episode. From start to end this anime was rock solid in it's ability to pull emotion out of me. Just makes ya wanna tell your love interest you love 'em. 4.Bleach An anime that makes me want even more at the end of each episode. Every aspect of this anime is great. The action, comedy, drama, music, everyDamnThing is great! The opener * is great and the closers are memorable. Kon's the Man! 3.Full Metal Alchemist This Anime is Rock Solid in every way I like an anime to be. It's action packed, the characters are great, the story is well written, and the music is good. Every character can easily become a fan favorite, well maybe not gluttony or 1 episode villains. Each episode leaves me wanting more. 2.Cowboy Bebop The coolest anime on the planet. Every episode was great and well done. It was a very well done anime in every aspect. The action was well done, spike moved with great fluid motions and the Gun VS. Sword fights looked believable. The space battles were good aswell. There was great character development and they each brought something good to the table. There was a character for everyone and I just loved them all. Started great and ended perfectly. 1.Yu Yu Hakusho The only anime to ever make me shed a tear. This anime just has some powerful episodes that get to me. The fights were just plain good, some fights did the usual Hero needs to dig deep cliche, but some fights were different like the toe to toe fights that kept things interesting. The main character becomes so powerful but is believable when it looks like he may die. The characters are powerful, but not so powerful that they go DBZ and kill the technical side to combat. These guys actually use tactics, like a smoke screen or set ups. The only fight to go beyond 3 episodes was the Sensui fight and it was good, besides how weird Sensui was. The anime's hilarious and the supporting females proved to be fully capable of taking care of themselves. So much more I could add in, but I've already typed for an hour and half, I go sleep now, heh. Aside: Maybe typing Stream of Consciousness was a bad idea.
  22. Aside: Damn I haven't posted in a while. My god FMA's consistently getting better. It's building up really well at this point and we're barely half way through. I've said this a lot and I'll say it again, this is an anime everyone needs to check out.
The last couple episodes have been great. Discovering how to make the stone, Ed starting to accept his height and limbs and of course isn't too happy when he realizes it, and a bit more light is being shed about Scar and the Trio of Harrolquins(SP?) The second I realized Barry the Chopper was there I knew the Sewing Life Alchemist was alive.
Heh at this time of night I've obviously made a sloppy post, but even with spoiler tags I couldn't help but try not to give too many details. With how far it's gone I'm curious if they'll go all the way through or stop and show reruns for a while. I'm definately hoping for the former.
  23. 50% of these posts are long and good, mostly by Siren, Eva, and Dagger. Sadly I'm going to disappoint with a short post. I pretty much like all anime at first, it takes time for me to realize whether or not I'm willing to finish them or not. Like others repetitiveness turns me off. I can't explain why any of DBZ didn't turn me off though, I love DBZ,heh. "Inuyasha still hasn't killed Naroku?!" is how I feel about Inuyasha. I'm getting bored with some episodes and liking others. I'm at the point where I'm just watching it to see how it ends. I guess I just feel like the anime should be over already. This feeling was also in Wolf's Rain, when things picked up the Anime was great, but when it slowed down, it slowed down to molasses speed. Here's a minor concept for just anime on tv( I don't like edited animes that much. When I see an anime I like on tv, I check it out on dvd or VHS to see if it's been edited. If it's been edited I'd rather go and just watch the anime through dvd or VHS instead of on TV.) The only anime I ever saw that I never wanted to see again wasn't Reign, but Knights of the Zodiac. Every episode I saw (only saw 4) had horrible dialogue and the dubbing was terrible, it also felt like stuff was being edited out and that that stuff was cruicial to the story. If nothing was edited out, then that anime was horribly broken. I think what I'm saying is, I don't like animes that feel like they are going no where or are disjointed and they don't mean to be.
  24. I've had luck at home and bad luck at school. At Home: Parents love anime, years ago they had no problem with me seeing sex or violence as long as I had an understanding of the concepts. They of course explained this after we watched Ninja Scroll as a family when it first came out. I was I think 8 or 10 at the time. In the present, my dad's a big Yu Yu Hakusho fan and my mom loves the hell out of DB/Z/GT. School, the main subject of this thread. I had good luck and bad luck here. The good: The faculty thinks nothing of it. They think it's just another crazy thing we kids do, like video games and music. The bad: Most of us who were fans in school we're closet fans because the first students to bring anime to school, just so happened to bring hentai....Mostly Furry. So everyone who was an anime fan was lumped in the same category as these basterd. I am optimistic that with the popularity Anime is getting, with time the misconceptions of anime will be fixed. I may be really really optimistic about this.
  25. This is truly a scary sight. The moment the site came up, it was staring at me. I was filled with fear somehow, then my dad accidentally droped a box and I jumped out of my seat, with my eyes closed I went to the computer and closed the window. Damn that is scary to see for some reason. This is something I gotta show all my friends, heh. I'm still getting shivers down my spine from thinking about it, damn that was something different fiercly weird.
