I'm sure I've put this down in atleast 5 different posts throughout my time here. Yu Yu Hakusho, episode 1. I've seen this episode atleast 12 times through a course of about 5 year, hell they showed it again 3 hours ago on Toonami. Ouch! Hit by a car and ya find out Yusuke died for nothing. What makes a tear come to my eye everytime I see this episode is during the wake, it's just a build up of sadness. Kayko(spellcheck?) crying, as far as she knew she was Yusuke's only friend and she really cared for him. Kuwabara believeing he'd be fighting Yusuke forever, it was an everyday thing between the two, Kuwabara couldn't handle not having that certainty anymore. The principal regretting that he couldn't get Yusuke to stay in school and that Yusuke's potential was lost. His mom crying, no parent wants to outlive their kids. And there was the kid Yusuke died for, completely innocent with no idea Yusuke died and hoping to play with Yusuke. All of this happening in one scene is always too much and brings me to sheding a tear. Aside from that I can't think of any other animes that have made me shed a tear. I'm sure some animes have brought me close, but none have taken me to the point Yu Yu Hakusho has.

*Aside* Being a fan of FMA, I've made it a point to post after watching every episode, heh. This episode was a great bit of comic relief after last week's episode.
A typical Hero saves the town from tyranny episode, but it was good. It's a shame Al didn't do much, sure he saved a kid and gave Ed a sandwhich, but it's still a shame he didn't do much else. I really thought it was going to be a two part episode with some background as to why alchemy girl was the way she was or how the town became the way it was. I really didn't think Ed was gonna save the town so easily. From the mountain of gold to the taxi ride in the sand I was having a good laugh. As far as I can tell the episode established why Ed became so popular and why they were walking in the sand in the first episode.
wow I didn't have much to say about FMA this time around, maybe there'll be more to mention next time. :D

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Noside replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
I agree with you on a lot of what you say. CN's lost it's thunder in some ways and gained it in others. I think they decided to allocate their anime resources differently. They don't really commercialize their anime outside of their anime blocks and the ratio of anime throughout the day has really gone down. I see maybe 1 or 2 FMA and GITSAC commercials, 2 DBGTs, and dozens of Inuyasha commercials a week, so yeah anime's really not getting that much attention. They totally screwed up on SEED, I never saw a commercial for it or had any idea it was moved. For those of us who were lucky enough to be hoping .hack was on we didn't miss an episode. So SEED's a good example of bad commercialization methods which was a lack of it. I really don't get why they came up with miguzi, what killed Toonami as a daily thing was the fact it became the Dragon Ball show. I'm a fan of DB/Z/GT, but hell, people are of course gonna get tired of seeing that everyday. CN was at it's best Ratio wise when it had the Sailormoon hour before Toonami, then there was toonami, then some CN toons, and finally the Midnight run. Saturday had more Toonami and sunday had Adult swim with Cowboy bebop. Then things slowly evolved into what it is now. Toonami's replaced with Miguzi which is a show of weak anime, anime inspired cartoons, and some reincarnated Ninja Turtles. With AS nightly dealing out reruns or new animes. Then on Saturday there's a strong block of anime and a little bit of anime on sunday. I really don't see how FMA and GITSAC are big hopes for anime. Granted FMA is an incredible anime that everyone should give a chance, but as far as hopes for anime on CN, I don't think so. Whenever an anime ends or they run out of episodes they bring out 1 or 2 new shows or new episodes. It's been this way for years and since it works they'll probably continue this process. Sadly CN's lost it's faith in Toonami it seems, they totally pay attention to anime on AS now and give the leftover scraps to Toonami or Miguzi. I think of anime in CN on a tier system, kinda. Anything they think is mature usually an AS anime, and they put the other good animes that don't have to be on AS because it's not as graphic go on toonami, while Miguzi gets the crap of the crop. With this tier I don't really think Bleach would be a Toonami anime and I can't say anything about Naruto since I've never seen it. Toonami's gonna need something really good that isn't AS material if they wanna do something like take back it's daily slot or strengthen it's block. wow this is an incoherent mess of thoughts, good luck deciphering it. :D -
Each episode makes this anime better. Making Edward vulnerable and scared just added so much realism to his character. I'm happy to see he's not a badass who can face anything that comes his way, atleast not yet, he's still a rookie. He really shows his age and acts like an older brother usually does: Hard headed, unwilling to do things he doesn't like, stays strong to his ideals and gets shaken really hard when he sees them contradicted. I don't know much about younger brothers so I can't comment on Alphonse. I like his character in the fact he's understanding of his circumstances and calm most of time. I think the dubbing really captures his wanting to become human again. This anime is quickly going up the ladder in my list of favorite animes. Time for some spoilers on ep.8:
When winry came, ya knew she was gonna be a victim and that refrigerator car helped make it obvious. At first I didn't like the fact it's a coincidence everything happens, but I now understand it was neccessary for what happens and that it was a good idea to do it. I really think the dubbing and drawing was great in this episode, Edward sounded desperate in his ordeal and in his realizations that he can't do it all alone. I like that Edward didn't stand and fight with one arm, he showed authentic fear and ran to try can get Winry loose and get his arm first. I think Edward would of been okay, he was about to kill the guy when Al came. That strike into Al's armor was a great idea, Edward realized he could of killed Al if he was human and Al is again reminded of his inhumanity.
This is a Rock Solid anime, I wish I saw earlier, but I'm glad I'm seeing it now at the same time...Damn that made no sense.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Noside replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Cartoon Network needs to put some new anime on. I'm getting tired of Watching Yu Yu Hakoshu, Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop All the time. I can go buy the dvd for that.:(
Sure you can get dvds for these animes, but not everyone can do that. Cowboy Bebop was AS's first anime so I can't picture them not airing it, no matter how stale it gets. Sure they'll take a break from Cowboy Bebop for a while, but eventually they'll show it again. Yu Yu Hakusho hasn't ended yet and they aren't showing reruns either. Every week is a new episode for those of us who can't afford to get dvds. Inuyasha hasn't ended either, but I'm getting tired of seeing it myself. I'm itching for those new episodes to come, but I'm not gonna go buy some dvds, I can wait. **************** I think Cartoon Network has done a good job with their anime. When one ends or they run out of episodes, something new premieres. CN has had a good variety and FMA and GITSAC really add to their flavor. Curious what great anime they'll bring in the future. I don't know what how anyone else feels about CN, but I feel CN has really helped Anime come into America and helped make it as popular as it is. -
I agree on Revolutionary Girl Utena, it's kinda odd at first but then it makes sense. Later on things just go totally weird, the movie just makes things even weirder, heh. Another weird Anime, though only ten minutes, is Ichigeki Satchu Hoi Hoi San. It's about a little robot doll that exterminates bugs. It is down right hilarious to watch and I didn't think it strange, but all my friends think it is so I mentioned it. La portrait de petit cosette, now here's an anime I can't believe I didn't mention earlier. This anime is visually stunning and dare I say...Lainesque. The difference between lain and this anime is that it's only 3 episodes and eventually most of what happened makes sense. I think their's a couple more strange animes, but the names don't come to mind yet...

Great anime with some really funny scenes. Dagger's dead on with the mention of the hit and miss jokes. I was the only one who caught the Initial D cameo, but everyone still laughed that they were faster than cars. The opener and closer themes easily get stuck in my head from time to time. Favorite character's gotta be the biker(his name escapes me at the moment). His attempts are hilarious and expressions crack me up. Only seen a few episodes, but this is definately an anime I suggest to people who like to have a laugh.
-
I'm surprised no one mentioned FLCL. That one is definately a whacked out Anime. Once it was over some things made sense, but it was definately a big difference from the norm. Great message behind it all. Another weird anime is Serial Experiments Lain, that's an anime I really like. Nothing ever makes sense and your always asking questions, even if your watching it from the start to end. Great message behind it all. There's plenty of other weird anime I've seen, but the names escape me so... That's all for now.

I'm surprised someone thought Ronin Warriors was bad(Bloodlust), maybe compared to anime now it's not as good, but bad? You didn't even give any good reasons why, you need to flesh out your arguement a little bit better before you say you can "go on forever". No surprise people hate DB and Sailor Moon, but heck they've been milked for so long of course it's gonna happen, heh. I'll always be a fan. Now for what I think was bad: Did anyone see Knights of the Zodiac? I never thought I could hate an anime, but this one's just plain bad. Was the terrible dubbing on purpose? I was annoyed by the dubbing so much, I tried to sit through the first few episodes, but I couldn't because of the dubbing. The storyline confused me and the dialogue was really lame. Something I thought that was weird about it was it's hype, this anime receieve a lot of hype and it doesn't seem to deliver at all. Maybe the subtitled version is better... This is the only really bad anime I could think of maybe I'll add more if I think of any.
-
Anyone see the latest Adult Swim episode? I guessed correctly on the surprise at the end of that episode. After he survived 6 attempts, that was a good guess I think, heh. The action of that episode was really good, Makoto didn't look invincible like she usually does in the other episodes, but she still kicked ***. I'm curious about some things. Does the second movie take place after the first 26 episodes or after the entire series? Each member has a special talent, but what the hell is Boma's Talent? And what's Paz's(I think that's his name, he seems to squint a lot) talent? Do all the characters flesh out more or just the major characters? By major I mean Makoto,Togusa, and Bateau.
-
Yes the latest Adult Swim episode was indeed a hard turn toward the "Dark". Just like Dagger I had the same assumptions about Tucker and Nina. This episode was a really big surprise with what happened. It makes me believe this anime is capable of almost anything now. From the glimpses seen in the opener, I thought the tatoo'd guy was the father or something, but now we know it's the latter. Anyone else notice that every villain Edward encounters tells Edward he's like them?
-
I like it, the cartoon is downright hilarious in my eyes, especially the scenes with Kaz. I think they made this cartoon to introduce themselves to the american youth. I think it's a bit of a hybrid between American and Japanese ideas for a cartoon.

Hey Humaru, have you been reading some of the other posts? Preferably James and Solo Tremaine's. In a way it's gone mainstream and in a way it hasn't. It mostly depends on our definitions on mainstream. It's definately come a long way and is becoming mainstream, but it's still not there. I think it will become mainstream eventually, but it's not there yet. Anyone who doesn't have cable around here can only view anime from FOX, all other channels like TechTV and CN are provided by cable. So I don't think anime's everywhere, maybe if it gets a primetime spot on one of the major noncable channels it will have gone mainstream. Hell I'm hoping for the day that Anime becomes mainstream, sure there's a lot more anime now than before, but it still has room to grow.

After hearing about it for a very long time, it comes to CN, hurrah! It wasn't bad, I liked it and alchemy interests me a lot so I'm really curious how they impliment alchemy in this anime. Edward and Al are a pretty cool pair already, the fact they are brothers will make for some funny scenes I bet. The first episode already had something with that when Al dumpped sand on Edward. heh I guess I like sibling pairs cause it reminds me of my own sibling rivalries(looks around). Edward looks like he'll be a badass in the anime and Al...I don't know what Al will be yet, hopefully he gets to do some cool stuff like Edward does. I can't explain it,but Al's my favorite character so far. I'm not a great judge on voice actors, I like subs and dubbs and rarely gripe about the voices. Edward sounds perfect for him and Al sounds like it should work. I don't know if Al is meant to sound like a little boy talking with a bucket on his head, but it sounds right. I can't imagine Al's voice being serious, I'm really curious how they pull that off if Al ever gets serious or pissed off. Which I can't imagine since he's a kid who sounds like he's very accepting, hell he didn't sound very aggrevated about the fact he's a suit of armor. I also wonder if they'll go all the way through with FMA or show it in installments; the later is so annoying, but it is a good idea since it keeps people like me glued to CN with false hopes. A quick question, was FMA or GITSSAC edited at all?
I totally regret looking at the Rurouni Kenshin spolier.
Alright let's spoiler the the obvious ones first. Cowboy Bebop:
Spikes death I think was the first time I ever saw a major character die. All I could say was "NOOOOOO!" It is a perfect end for the anime. The other perfect end would be him living, heh.
Trigun:
Wolfwood's death was just so sad. He did things his way and it was good enough for him, but he sees Vash martyr himself and suffer so much so that no one dies. When Wolfwood tries to do the same with his teacher, he pays for it. He died smoking in a church, that's a perfect spot for him. I'm curious if he did what I thought he did with Millie's friend, I saw the CN version so I don't know. Another death that struck a cord was Legato's death. He forced Vash to do what he never thought he'd ever do, kill someone. He put his head to Vash's gun and forced him to do it, now that's a crazy villain.
DBZ:
Both of Vegeta's deaths. His first death was really sad, didn't think the hard as stone Vegeta could cry. The other one is when Vegeta blows himself up, that one got me. He knew he couldn't stop Buu alive so he thought he could do it dead and he sorta succeeded, atleast he blew him to bits.
X the movie:
Everybody dies and Kamui's alone. I don't remember the names right now, but the fire chick's death/kill of an enemy was pretty cool. The monk's death was sad, he dies for the girl and the girl dies too. Kamui kills his best friend and the girl he loves gets killed too. The goryness of a couple of the deaths made me cringe, wasn't used to it in Anime.
Hitsuji no Uta or Sheep's song:
It was a sad story from beginning to end. I thought Kazuna was gonna attempt to live on and live with the curse, but no he kills himself with his dying sister. It was a linear road to that end, but throughout the last episode I had hopes something would save them. I was hoping the two would accept the blood of their lovers Doctor Minease and Yaegeshi (I think that's how the two names were spelled), but no they decide to end the family bloodline and curse with themselves.
Yu Yu Hakusho:
The beginning of the first episode BAM! the main character dies. It wasn't his death that got to me, but the rest of the episode because of this death. His wake for some reason really gets to me and it brings a tear to my eye.
unknown anime: This is my favorite death, but I forgot the anime. In the end it's two swordsmen fighting, the hero is too weak to defeat the villain, but he didn't intend to come out of this fight alive. So he runs straight into his enemie's sword and takes it in the stomach, doing that gets him close enough to do the final blow and they both die. God I wish I remembered what that anime was, it was a really cool final battle. I need to remember and find that anime, heh. whoa I almost forgot Wolf's Rain:
Pretty much everyone dying sucked, but the worst death to me was cher's and hub's deaths. They reunite and what happens? She dies. I don't know what other people think, but that was like a neighbor's death happening suddenly. Say hi and bye to the neighbor thinking you'll see em' tomorrow and BAM they died. For her it was like okay the car's crashed now they gotta wal....Oh crap!, she dies. That was just so damn sudden. Hub's death was kinda weird, he accepts death and just let's go. He falls head first, yet survives long enough to put a cigar in his mouth and remember cher.
Lamest deaths: All DBZ and GT villains die stupid uneventful deaths. That's all I could think of off hand. Maybe I'll add more in the future.

I didn't really wanna comment on this anime until it ended....and tonight it ended. The first couple episodes got me interested, but everntually they were going nowhere and I stayed on to see how it would end. The end was reminiscent of X in a way, I am definately disappointed. The ending doesn't feel like it does justice to this anime, it feels like .hack's latest anime's ending, Witch Hunter Rovin's ending and Big O's second season ending during it's second run (When they didn't show the credits). They feel like there should be more to it than what was shown, the lack of closure is murder sometimes. Wolf's Rain is great and I have the same complaints I hear a lot of people say, there wasn't much character development. Toboe grew up a little, Hege was less lost, Tsume's cold heart warmed up, and Kiba didn't really change much. The thing that interested me about this anime was the supporting characters. Hubb's journey to find Cher and his ignorance of what was around him was interesting. The relationship between Blue and Quint also interested me. When Hubb and Cher reunited I was happy and when Blue and Quint reunited I shed a tear. That general guy was pretty cool as well, they didn't really show what happened to him, but anyone could guess. Last comment: The music was incredible in this anime,I think that's one of the things that kept me interested.

Wow those screens look downright incredible. It's definately jumped to number 1 on my to buy list, it looks like they'll be pulling everything out of the bag on this one. Even the bottom of the bag is getting grabbed with the 2d court. The prospects of this game just by looking at the screens are very high. All the Mario games have had a good streak of looking amazing, but I hope the playability will be good as well. Sunshine looked incredible, but I didn't want to play it after I beat it. Mario Kart was right on the mark, but Golf was a bit too much like Golf than a Mario game. N64's Tennis was great, so I hope this one's even better.
1. I prefer Perfect Dark, because there's more to play around with, but Goldeneye is awesome, as well. Great level design that makes certain that you're not bored with only four players available for deathmatches, and tons of different weapons. Really ahead of its time in regards to console first-person shooters, and arguably still one of the best, even seven years after its first release. 2. I think I'll throw Skies of Arcadia Legends into the mix, as well. Great RPG, arguably one of the best released in the past few years, with everything that an RPG lover could go for. It has great characters, a solid story, a decent battle system, tons of sidequests and it's challenging. A game like this is fun no matter what era it's released in.
Quote note: Using numbers because I don't know how to split quotes. 1. Perfect Dark was definately an incredible game and it is indeed timeless. It's packed full of missions and there's a lot that can be done in multiplayer. The prospects of Perfect Dark's Multiplayer mode is what makes me think that game is definately Timeless. All the different mindsets and skills for the CPUs kept it interesting, especially those pesky Perfect Sims. 2. I definately have to agree with that. I played it on the dreamcast and was greatly satisfied with that game. When it came out as Legends on the Cube I bought it on the first day it came out, they kept the game the same and didn't change anything. They did add new stuff that made the game even better and it didn't mess up the original story at all. It's just a shame they couldn't have kept or expanded Pinta's quest, a VMU game on DC.
-
Iced Earth is an incredible band, the vocals, the instruments, the lyrics, it's all so great. Alive in Athens is a great CD because they do a wide variety of songs and they're all good. The crowd goes wild in this CD and it just adds to how great they are. This CD just never slows down even in the slower songs. My personal favorite is "The Hunter", it's just really good. Tribute to the Gods is another great CD I suggest, but it's something to get when ya get all the other Iced Earth CDs you want. It's basically a tribute CD to a bunch of bands that influenced them. They put they're own twists to the songs while staying true to the original. All of there Albums are good, this is a band I can't see any faults in and they've done a lot of music.

I'm talking about games that you personally feel are timeless ones that you can play today, tomorrow, next week, month, or year, but I don't mean in a row. What I mean is you can play it today and like a year later pick it up again and play. There's the obvious games like Tetris,Sonic,Sports games,Megaman,Fighting games like Street fighter,Mario,RE,Air fighters like Ikaruga and R-type,SH, and other games I can't remember to name right now. Edit note:This is my first thread, so thanks for telling me Desbreko. I'll elaborate on my games. Ones that I personally feel are timeless for myself are: 1.Kirby's Superstar, my favorite character in a variety of stories. Every story was great and they had variety in them. There were the regular games, a racing story, a treasure hunt, and it even had a boss battle game. The mini game Samurai Kirby was a very fun test of reflexes. I think what makes it timeless is it's simplicity, anyone can play this game and enjoy it. 2.Goldeneye, this is definately a game I can't get tired of, especially with friends. Competition makes any game good and this is one that lets the competition flow pretty well. Who's the best at mines? Grenades? Pistols? Just a constant medlay of combat. Single player was always fun once all the cheats were gained. Slow motion and bombs was my favorite mix of fun, lay down the bombs and watch the enemies slowly fly. I think of this game as timeless because I never tire of playing this game with my friends. 3.Star Fox 64, just takes an hour to beat and I've beaten it more than a hundred times. The music, dialogue, and combat was perfect for it's time. The music kept up the tempo and mood of the game and the dialogue kept things interesting. The combat was a great, I think it was the first game with a barrel roll, I'm not sure. This game is timeless to me because it was like a perfect package, lots of action and cool music. Didn't really expect much of a story from an air fighter so I got what I wanted. 4.SSB/M, this is thee party game for Nintendo fans, hell I played it in school during lunch time with a bunch of other students for 6 years. Nothing like watching Nintendo mascots beating the hell out of eachother. The competition this game creates between people is what makes it timeless. All the dodgiing and fighting of this game can make it really tense to play and to watch. 5.Simpsons Hit and Run, two words "Simpsons Fan". This is the definative game for Simpsons fans. It has atleast 1 reference to nearly every episode of the series. Driving around the town listening to the dialogue is always entertaining and it's really great to think back to old episodes when playing. With time it can go stale, but after watching a Simpsons episode a wanting to play the game can be renewed which makes this game timeless. 6.Ocarina of Time, first off it's a great story, good music, and really cool backgrounds. For me it's the story that drives me to beat it again and again. I like this story and the atmosphere of all the places you can visit. I rode around Hyrule a lot just listening to the music and randomly shooting stuff with arrows. All these great things in one package is what I think makes me revisit this game a lot. 7.Eternal Darkness, the story was great and the sanity effects were genius. This is a really simple game with great music, dialogue, and presentation. Beating it again and again never gets tired with all the sanity effects making things more interesting and the story getting to an exciting point atleast once every 3 scenes. I feel it's timeless because of it's story and simplicity, it's not a difficult game so it plays like a really long movie that you can jump into at anytime. Hope ya'll enjoy any memories you have as you make your list.

I'm going deep into the past on this one. The first Kirby game's my favorite, even today it's my favorite game to pick up and play. It was my first non-tetris gameboy game and it rocked! It was just a simple concept, little marshmellow guy can suck up and spit out enemies and fly. That was enough genius for me. I think what really proved to me that it's my favorite is what happened a couple years back. At some point I had totally forgotten about Kirby after Superstar and moved on to N64 and Playstation. Then one day my buddy was playing a gameboy game with a familiar tune and I asked him what it was. He showed me his screen and it was the title screen with a line of dancing Kirbys, out of nowhere all my memories of Kirby hit me and I swear I shed a tear. Once I got home I immediately ransacked my room, found the game, and played it on my old gameboy. I think i'll go play it right now.

There are a few heart pumping battles that really got my heart going, most you guys and gals have already said. Gun Star heroes Green and final boss battles were pretty memorable, especially the last battle it got me going. Alien Soldier is pretty much a bunch of boss battles, but I remember one boss who was pretty much just like Green from Gun Star Heroes, the boss had a bunch of forms and ya only had one life so it was a tough battle. The final battle with Bowser on 64 got me going. Spinning him around and the stage getting smaller, the longer it went the higher the anxiety. The First time I fought the Hand in SSB64 also pumped me up, I only had 1 life left and had no idea what to expect and I barely won. Most of Ocarina of Time is downright memorable, especially that final fight with Ganondorf. The most recent two incredible boss fights I can think of that really got my senses high was Viewtiful Joe's Joe V Joe fight and Final Fight and Ikaruga's Final Fight. There's just something about the music and atmosphere about those two battles that really got my blood pumping. Ikaruga's an incredible air fighter and the final battle puts your dodging skills to the ultimate test. Everythings flying at you at once and you know it's always possible to survive but how? Since I was down to my last continue the desperation to stay alive was pretty high. I know there's one boss battle that completely filled me with triumph and happiness after going through a nervous battle that nearly made me wet myself. I'll edit it in if I ever remember.

Luckily my parents love anime and they've always been oblivious to the violence, word choice, and nudity of some animes. My mom's a giant fan of DB/Z/GT, she got hyped up over the fight between Goku and Freiza so much, it puts a wrestling fan to shame. Oh god, she let out a yell of triumph when Goku turned Super so loud, I swear I went partially deaf. My dad's a casual anime watcher, whatever I'm watching he'll watch, Yu Yu Hakusho's his favorite anime. My parents did have lines that they drew, my dad didn't like animes with excessive blood and my mom didn't like "bad" words in anime. Kinda Funny story, my parents never screened the Animes we watched, we all saw them for the first time together. One night we saw Ninja Scroll, I'm ten at the time and those of you who have seen the movie know what certain scenes would make a parent flinch. Because of this movie I got the "Talk" about men and women, after the movie ended. I do know some friends who have parents who treat Anime like a filthy drug, they have to sneak around like smugglers if they want to see an Anime. I blame the news and it's one-sided accusations against Anime for parents like these, heh.

Originally I'd say I started watching Anime around 5, but a couple years ago I found out my first anime was at 2. I saw Akira for what I thought was the first time, but I kept feeling a lot of dejavu from it, later found out my mom was watching it when it first came out and I was on her lap. My memories of when I saw these animes are in a haze between 5 and 10. I don't know who got this channel but there was a channel called USA, it was my first source of anime at age 5 with it's morning cartoons: Voltron, Sailor Moon, and I think transformers. UPN at the time was also showing Dragon Ball,Samurai Pizza Cat, and Ronin Warriors. A year or two later I saw Robotech on what I think was Cartoon Network in it's early years from the beginning to the end of the second generation and Tekkaman Blade on I think NBC during their saturday morning cartoons. I remember seeing a lot of G-force back then, but I don't remember the channel, I think it was Cartoon Network. We also rented a lot of movies so I saw Animes like Fist of the North Star and Ninja Scroll. Also saw whatever Anime Sci Fi showed like Galaxy Express 999 and Tenchi Muyo. Now I see whatever Animes I can lay my eyes on. I think I'm lucky to have seen all these good Animes at a young age. I think the animes I saw when I was young played a part in shaping what I have become.

Lain is like reading Faulkner's The Sound and Fury. Every 5 minutes all I can say is "What?" or "Que?" or whatever other language I know "What?" in. It has to be looked at in a lot of perspectives to understand it. There's our own view, the out of the box view, the view of anyone we know who's seen it, and the views of the people we see on boards like these. With all these views we come up with our answers, but when it comes to Lain there's always a question after the creation of an answer. Everytime I see Lain I think a lot and hurt my brain, so it's become a tradition to do what I did the first time I saw it. Watch it in a marathon, uninterrupted all in one night, midnight's a good time. As time goes by your ability to comprehend what the hell is going on changes just as the episodes change. I sound nuts for doing it this way don't I? Lain's opening and ending themes are both great, the ending one is especially stuck in my head, the singer sounds like a Japanese Keith Richards. The TechTV version is good, but when you see the little bits they cut out ya wish they didn't cut. The characters were all a trip, the tall Lazer guy was my favorite, he was portrayed like he had an interesting past. I'll end this is the first thought I had when I saw this Anime from start to end for the first time: "NOTHING MAKES SENSE, YET IT ALL MAKES SENSE, BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE,.....WAIT IT DOES MAKE SENSE...*ramble on for hours*"
