I doubt he was ever taught about it. I'm sure somewhere along the line he happened upon it in some old Jedi Holocron...but hey, it just makes him look all that more stupid for disregarding an ancient rule and marrying Mara Jade. Ick.
  2.
Originally posted by Majora's Mask Non, no, no...Me...I should have gotten it, so I could have watched that interview! I'm in Canada.
Hehe, yeah, as I was typing that I figured that I'd make a big *** out of myself if you weren't talking about me and then I could actually laugh at myself which I am doing at the moment. Dammit BabyGirl, stop spamming! Eeee! I've gone crazy. Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. That's one looong title. How good IS the book? Does anyone actually recommend I read it?
  3.
Originally posted by Majora's Mask Right, BG. Damn..Knew I should have gotten MTV Canada, eh?
Quoi? ::blinks confusedly:: Am I suddenly from Canada? ::looks around...thinks:: My state is shaped like the back of my left hand...nope, I believe I'm still in Michigan :p
  4.
Originally posted by Schratn9 U know he just picked people he knows, no newbs or anyone with probually less then 1000 posts made it lol!
I think I can speak for James when I say he chose people he knows will do a quality job with grammar, spelling, and character & plot developement. Most of the people he chose have a history of doing well with those sorts of things...and they probably also had good sign up posts which ultimately reflect how you will act, write, and contribute to the storyline ;) Don't be mad if you didn't make it, there are several other Star Wars threads, and I'm sure they'll be more to come.
  5.
Originally posted by Son Goten *EDIT* I just counted all my posts in this thread, this is my 120th post in here! :D Ya Star Wars! :D :D*EDIT*
Loser :p Actually, I have probably posted a lot in here as well. I want to go see AotC again...mehhh...need...to...go... Heh, here's something on MTV about Master P going to Skywalker Ranch, and it's really neat. He is interviewing 'Mace Windu' who just said a spoiler!!! ::kills Samuel L. Jackson:: Bad Jedi! Hehe, ok, enough of my BS...I'm just being stupid now :p
  6.
Originally posted by Cera Anyway...Yeah, that movie was totally racist. You know that scene? The one with the people? And that one thing happens? Totally racist. I'm going to sue.
:rotflmao: Cera, I love you.
  7. Heh heh heh. I laugh at that man. I am a white, American female...I guess that means I am offended by the fact that Zam Wesell tried to, well...spoiler...but you know what I'm talking about if you saw the movie :p Heh heh heh. Tusken Raiders=Native Americans now?! Heh heh heh. The Tusken Raider history goes waaaay back. They're a vicious species that doesn't hesitate to kill their own clan members. Like someone already said, it was to illustrate Anakin's lashing out in anger and coming dangerously close to the Dark Side. Had Shmi been captured by a group of Hutts, it wouldn't have made any sense, since Hutts wouldn't be interested in an ex-slave for any reason but ransom money. Whoever this guy is that's accusing Episode II of being racially bias, had Anakin killed a bunch of Hutts, the guy would have accused Lucas of descriminating against obese people. Heh heh heh. Thank you for my dose of amusement for the day ;)
  8. Dria cursed as red laser fire rained down upon Damira's Grace. The Hapin Radicals were in hot pursuit. Hapin Radical: I suggest you surrender yourself now, Longstar. Dria muttered a few more insults and curses into her pilot helmet's mike. She knew that her ship could easily outrun the pieces of junk that the Radicals had thrown together. She scowled at the fact that they had stolen many of the Royal House's personal starfighters, weaponry, belongings, heirlooms...they were all a part of her past. Dria: Try me, Madame Radical. Your fire is not friendly in the least... Radical: No, Longstar, it certainly isn't. Dria: Then that gives me fair reason to return fire. Dria ceased the twisting and dodging she had been doing to evade laser fire, and pulled her F-Star (short for Farbanian Starfighter) up hard, emerging from a shadowy canyon into bright, blue daylight. She pulled a quick loop and dove back on top of her pursuers, splattering a warning of purple laser fire across their hulls. Dria: Hang on ladies, and good luck...you're going to need it.
  9.
Originally posted by James Ah yes. That is why, as much as I am interested in the novels...I can never take them as being the "official" story. What you just described demonstrates that. :)
I disagree. Nothing ever conflicted until Episode II. To say that the novels don't compliment the "main" story, or even become a part of it, is being presumptious. I recommend you read the books before you comment on it ;) Once you read the books, you'll realize how much you begin to love them and the characters, and you'll begin to accept it as part of the "main" story.
  10.
Originally posted by Defcon5 I'm confused how would that related them together? Obi-Wan would be Anakin's brother. Am I right or just confused.
You're confused because I explained it poorly :p Let me get into further explanation: Owen Lars is most well known for his brief appearance in A New Hope as Luke's "uncle". Him and his wife, Beru Lars, both get charred by stormtroopers who track the missing droids to the Lars plantation. If you delve into the Expanded Universe of Star Wars, then you will find that older literature confirms Owen Lars to be Obi-Wan's brother. It is a common fact that the two are brothers...or should I say it was a common fact? The entire thing about Owen being Luke's uncle was supposed to be a cover-up to protect Luke from ever knowing about his ?and his father's? rather dark past. Obi-Wan supposedly took Leia to Alderaan to live with Bail Organa as an adopted child, and Luke to Tatooine to live with Obi-Wan's brother...Owen. All of that was done in an attempt to protect the two children who were extremely strong in the Force from their father, a very powerful dark lord, and from being found and turned to the Dark Side. In Episode II, they turned the whole thing around and made it so that Owen Lars really IS Anakin's brother...or half-brother...therefore disregarding everything that the EU has ever said about Owen Lars. Kudos to that...  Ahem...excuse my belligerence toward the whole situation.
  11.
Originally posted by Boba Fett Question- According to the expanded universe, an Imperial scientist named Bevel Lemisk designed the Death Star while on a reserch facility hidden in a cluster of black holes, known as the Maw. In the movie however the Genocian leader gives the plans t Dooku, is this another case of the expanded universe being wrong, or am I missing something??
Ugh, who knows. I'm still pissed that they messed up the whole Owen/Obi-Wan/Anakin relationship. Owen Lars is supposed to be Obi-Wan's brother, and the uncle thing is supposed to be a big cover up while Luke is growing up. They decided to make it literal V_V Beh to that...:grumble: As for Bevel Lemlisk...it will be interesting to see what happens there. Qui Xux was a part of the construction too, she was decieved by the Empire and told that the Death Star would "aid in agriculture" or something of that sort. How very, very wrong that was... One last comment: There IS actually a book that takes place between Episodes IV and V called Splinter of the Mind's Eye. It has some interesting interaction between Luke and Leia...and that's basically all it is. It's a bad book, really. I only recommend you read it to see what EU Star Wars books were like when they were written back in 1978...
  12. We already have a Star Wars thread in which Episode II is being discussed at this very moment. Feel free to post in there :)
  13.
Originally posted by Queen Asuka And yeah, I heard about everyone liking the white outfit. It was because she didn't have anything on under it and you could see her nipples. End of discussion.
Indeed...I found it rather amusing how she went from beautiful, elegant outfits...to the white one. When I first saw it I was like, "Damn that is a cute little outfit!"...and then I realized that she was a bit nipply and nearly started laughing (sardonically, of course). They obviously made that one for the guys  I loved the rest of her clothes, though...they were beautiful.
  14. NAME: Dria Longstar AGE: 18 SPECIES: Human HOMEWORLD: Hapes WEAPON: hold-out blaster that Dria uses for extreme situations...she prefers hand to hand combat. As a secondary weapon, she carries a purple-bladed lightsaber which she inherited from her grandmother. POLITICAL AFFILIATON: Independent/New Republic VEHICLE: HG-77 Farbanian starfighter Damira's Grace. This ship is an angular fighter and slightly alien in apperance. It is no more than thirteen meters from its sharp, angled nose to the rounded engine port in back. The two wings on either side of the fighter are flat and somewhat resemble those of an X-wing?s without a second S-foil. They are parallel to the ground during non-flight, making it a nine meter span from starboard to port wing tip. FORCE CAPABLITIES: Dria has sensitivity to the Force, and while she has little control over her power, she knows that her ability to read people's feelings and eerily predict things before they happen both stem from the Force. She has been seeking out Luke Skywalker who is rumored to be searching for new Jedi candidates. DESCRIPTION: Dria is a pretty girl with dark red hair and brown-gold eyes that can either charm or pierce the eyes of another. Her complexion is tan and she has a subtle scar on her right cheek that she keeps hidden to abvoid questions. Her apperance is beautifully soft which deeply contrasts her passionate personality. Dria is approximately 5'8", but appears 'taller' due to the omnipresent 'aura' that she gives off. She is most often seen wearing her emerald green pilot suit, but when not in flight she prefers a matching emerald jumpsuit, form-fitting and secured at the waist by a slim-yet handy-utility belt. She wears standard black boots, sometimes trading the traditional ones for half-boots-those that only come halfway up the calf. Finally, when not in combat or in flight, she wears a Hapin robe over her jumpsuit...more for protection of identity than tradition. BIO: Since Dria grew up on Hapes, a world on which the women pride themselves on their female leadership, she has always been taught that men are inferior to women. She carries this idea with her, though she finds it somewhat bogus and tends to disregard it. She was a member of the royal court until a coup overthrew the royal family and she was forced into exile. At age 15 she escaped, separated from her family, to Coruscant and was taken in by distant relations. She left them when she turned 17, annoyed by their haughty attitudes and lust for money. Dria returned to Hapes to find her family, and is currently hiding in disguise on her home planet.
  15.
Originally posted by Boba Fett Yoda was different looking in Clones, but I think that it was excellent that he actually did some fighting rather than sit around and speak crypticly...
Indeed he did look different. I was sort of distracted by that at first, since he didn't look like the Yoda we all know and love, but I realize that for him to fight he needed to be turned into a CGI character. And that one scene was brilliantly done ;) Argh, I regret being so busy this weekend and missing out on good conversation in here. I'd love to discuss the movie...though I must be quite careful about spoilers. Heh, and Boba Fett (the member here)? I started laughing when I read your most recent post, the one about Fett surviving the Sarlacc. I was going to post something about it, but you definitely beat me to it. It amazes me how many people really don't know that he did escape. We're just super-nerds for knowing I guess :p
  16. I am often told that my hair looks like an anime character's...even though that's certainly not the reason it's cut like it is. Basically, my hair is a dark redish-brown (I WILL admit to dying it...) and it is about three inches past my shoulders. I can't explain the style...it's just very anime-esque. I love it when my hair cooperates with me...but lately it really hasn't -_-
  17. Two and half hours...of sleep...running on...am I... Yoda...lightsaber...:wow: !!! ::scratches head stupidly:: That was awesome...
  18.
Originally posted by Ravenstorture Do you think that bush had anything to do with 911, perhaps?
I think what Ravenstorture means is like the whole FDR/Pearl Harbor conspiracy...like they may have known about it going to happen, but allowed it to happen for a specific reason, then played dumb when it DID happen. I very highly doubt Bush had anything to do with it, but it's a feasible theory. I don't think anyone from the US would ever want to destroy the WTC towers, so that's why I doubt him being involved.
  19.
Originally posted by BulmaVegeta1 Just don't critice people when you have no idea what you're saying. Actually, don't open you mouth at all. If you don't like what I talk about or what I post or don't even like me, then STAY AWAY!
I advise you to watch your mouth as well. She wasn't singling anyone out and telling the that they are immature, so you really shouldn't feel so offended. As for all of you, please don't criticize people for what they think because I don't want people feeling like they need to lie about how they really feel about a movie. I'll gladly admit that I'd like to see the Spirit movie with one of my friends who is a huge horse person...and I'm older than all y'all :p
  20. Wah hoo! Well guys, the countdown has begun! I'm officially going to see Episode II in about 15 hours! EEEEE! :excited: It's going to be one hell of a long night...but I'm going with a bunch of other hardcore fans, so I know that I'll have a great time! Best thing is, they all know that I'm the Star Wars Goddess and admit that I know more than them...he he he.... I'm really excited right now and that is affecting my typing...I can't stop thinking about it..this is going to be the most awesome night ever...
  21.
Originally posted by Son Goten Could you people try not to post spoilers plz? I don't wanna be around if BabyGirl goes nuts
It's all right as long as you guys give a spoiler alert before you type the message. I have avoided several posts above this one because of these handy spoiler-alerts. Thank you muchly for doing that!
  22.
Originally posted by Son Goten Remember, Lukes first lightsaber was his fathers? Obi-Wan said was. So, if it's his fathers it's Anakins. So it was both of theirs. :) And yes I bought it. Ahh, I thought you meant the same Jedi ROBE since you never actually said 'lightsaber' in that post...heh, I understand now ;)
  23. I'm really bad at that archery thing...my highest score is merely 1200 :toothy:
  24.
Originally posted by SSJ Gotenks ok A movie about a horses life...
...and a mermaid's, and a lion's, and a deer's, and a Winnie the Pooh's, and an aristocat's, and a fox and hound's...
...seems kinda dumb to me!!!!
My point being...how is it ANY different from the other movies Disney has made about animals? If you're going to laugh at the idea of a movie being about a horse, then laugh at all the other animal movies, too.
  25.
Originally posted by Wormmon's Tamer Ok, That's Wicket you're talking about. And he says more than "Yub Yub". In fact, I have Return of the Jedi, and it sounded like Wicket was saying "Yup Yup". I think what he was saying (in english) was: "This way!! Yep Yep." Ewoks are cool!!
:therock: I'm quite aware that I was speaking about Wicket. Wicket W. Warrick...indeed. I apologize for any rudeness, but I was making fun of him... A word of advice though, never go to a place with a lot of Star Wars fans and say "Ewoks are cool" (it's fine here...we won't disagree TOO much...:shifty: ) unless you want to get a lot of: EWOKS SUCK! Just be forewarned ;) I don't mind them so much myself, but I personally think it was a horribly corny touch to the story. If this picture doesn't scare you...then I don't know what would...eee!
