1. I wouldn't mind going to see this live. . and yes, I also wouldn't mind spending the money for it either ^_^ This would be something I would like to get on CD if it were released also. . I am a big fan of gaming music, and though I haven't collected many CDs of gaming music, it's never too late to start. lol
2.
Apparently this virus has been going around since ?72, when it was first discovered in the town ofNorwalk, Ohio. Apparently is spreads by contaminated feces of an infected person; ick. So, based on these facts, it?d be best to wash your hand frequently and always before you eat. Remember to use warm, soapy water.
It's pretty strange how frequently people go without washing their hands. I am not really a germ-a-phobe or anything, but I don't think I could stand to leave my hands unwashed for a long period of time. I mean, even when I am at work, I will wash my hands after being on a register, or dealing with merchandise for a while. I am not over paranoid about getting sick or anything, but it's courtious to have clean hands when handling people's money. I also wash my hands whenever I go to break, or come back. . it's just a little better that way. I don't want to eat a sandwhich after being out on the sales floor for longer then like. . 10 minutes. Some of the boxes or merchandise I have touched are so filthy, it's pretty nasty. *shrug* It's even worse at college. . from my experience. I mean, some of these guys will walk right past the sink in the bathroom everytime. . *shudders* It's pretty nasty. I mean, these guys will go on to eat, or play some video games, or even go to sleep. . why?! -_- Oh well. . can't control them. lol
3. Yeah. . I guess I didn't think of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy or Fear Factor. . both of those are pretty good shows, for two totally oposite reasons. . For QE - It just helps everyone in little ways. I myself have gotten some cooking tips from the show. I don't really cook, but I have gotten a couple good recipes and a few drink ideas from them ^_^ Some of the fashions that they show I could easily put together, and will have to work on it a bit. I am usually the t-shirt and blue jeans guy, but had been trying to step it up a little bit beyond the 'button up shirt' as my only real upgrade. . lol, oh well. .least I know how to shave =P For Fear Factor - I just enjoy some of these people that can't stand to eat some of the stuff that are thrown in front of them. . and on the same note, it's curious why some of these people will go through all of that just for a 'chance' to win some money. If I was on the show, I know it would be very different. . so, I can't really criticize them that much. . but, it's still a lot of fun to watch. I love Joe Rogan too, he is tons of fun (I miss News Radio . . =( *cries*) And ya, I agree with Semjaza -- It should be changed from Fear Factor to "Gonna Make You Eat Some Nasty Stuff!" . . what? No good?
4. I think most people will want to say that 19 is one of the 'lesser' birthdays. . I mean, at 16 you get to drive, at 18 you get to buy cigars/cigarettes (if you smoke). . but it still gives you a little freedom, though at the same time 18 also means you are going to get arrested for anything bad that you do (don't ask), and at 21 you can buy alcohol (if you drink). Many people like to say that 17, 19-20, and 22+ birthdays aren't really anything special. . Well, I give signifigance to anyone's birthday! I can't really remember too much what I did when I turned 19, but at least I remember that I partied quite a bit, and that I probably drank way too much (*gasp* yes, I said I drank. . I started drinking early in my teenage years. . so. . sorry). If you don't drink, there is still lots that you can do. It just depends really. . some people don't put any real signifigance on birtdays at all. . and yet, some give props for EVERY birthday. . Just however you and your friends/family celebrate birthdays *shrug*
5. You are always in our thoughts Deb, and I am sure that we are all here for you. For a long time, it was hard for me to ever open up to people, and yet, you were a beacon that I was guided by at times. I will never stop hoping that we get to meet, but at the same time, I want you to find the joy and satisfaction that you have been stripped of. I don't know if you can mention what is going on. . but if you ever need anything, you know I am here to listen and to help, whatever it is that you have trouble with. I am sure that as much as you need your friends, many of your friends need you just as much. . With all the love possible, I stand with you. . Aaron~
6.
I watch The Surreal Life every week. It is a Reality show about 5 or 6 celebrities that live in this house and have to deal with eachother and stuff. Its really interesting. The Celebrities on now are Tammy Fae(Evangelist), Ron Jeremy(Porn Star), Vanilla Ice.AKA Rob(Rapper), Trichelle(Alcaholic from The Real World), Tracy i tink he name is...(From Baywatch). Theres another guy but I forgot his name. I really like the show and will watch it until its over:)
The Surreal Life is pretty funny. . I often find myself wanting to question why some of these people even volunteered to be on this show. . but, I stop myself, finding that I really don't care. . lol Some of my favorites (past or present): Joe Millionare - Nothing like a bunch of women swearing that all they care about is finding a good guy, then when they don't think they are on camera, saying what they would do with all that money. . lol Average Joe - Bunch of nerdy looking characters piling off a bus, staring at a beautiful woman, and not knowing what to say. . Every guy is competative, if put in the right scenario. Those are probably two of my favorites, though I am usually amused with some of the others out there. . just can't think of them right now. I never really got into the favorites, like Survivor, the Bachelor series. . I will never watch The Simple Life, and rarely watch Meet my Folks. . Oh well. . some are my cup of tea, some aren't.
7.
This is not funny. I already had a heart attack yesterday. If I can't... stop laughing... I will have... another one... I'm not kidding... help... somebody call 911... Know worry darling.. They are just jealous of your overwhelming beauty...
Pulls out defibrillator. . CLEAR!! This is one of the funniest posts I have read in quite some time. . nothing like stopping that evil Semjaza >_< I, like Sara, was planning on posting something. . but I don't think I could intelligently bash on someone that I really don't know at all! lol Oh well, I am happy just laughing at Boba's essay ^_^
8. Well. . I tend to try act kind to everyone. Those who know me personally know that I usually put other people before myself. I am quick to volunteer my resources (i.e. my time to help with a project, money for gas or food, even myself to use as a punching bag - physical or mental). . there is a fine line I guess between being walked over and being polite. I am still in the polite side ^_^ I usually hold doors open for poeple. Yes, especially women, but when does being chivalrous mean that you can only be nice to women? If there is some guy walking towards the door, and I just happen to be closer, I will will tend to open the door for him. . The other day, I opened a door for this lady, and ended up standing there for a couple minutes as a small contingent of random people walked in one after another. I wasn't too worried because most of my friends weren't even out of their cars yet, but I was supposed to get the table for everyone. So, when they got in, we were one of the last groups to be attended. Was I, or anyone in my group, offended by this? No! Why would we be? When I was attending college, I held the door open for my sister (who also attended the same college) and most of the other tons of people that would always come along for dinner. With some of the 'girl' friends that went along, it was wierd for them at first, because they weren't sure why I was doing it. They were used to growing up were no one would open the door for them. So, a few times, I found myself yelled at, "Why are you opening the door for me?" With a smile, "Because I got here first". . that usually did them good till my sister would happily point out that men are supposed to open the door for women. As some others have said, as long as you don't make the woman feel helpless while trying to be polite, then it's all good. A women wants to feel special, not handicap. I was there to get my sister's back if someone got in her face (never happened), but she and I both knew that if something happened that was out of her control, then big brother would step in and take control ^_^ LOL, like I said, nothing like that ever happened. . but you don't want to squash the woman you are with by trying to take care of EVERYTHING. . just my take. .
9. I will be honest. When I first thought about having video games combined with a phone, I was slightly intrigued. I mean, I played Snake. . Snake II, and even some Blackjack and really crappy football on cell phones before, and it was a great waste of time. I even downloaded Prince of Persia (the original version) on my last Motorolla phone, and again, really had a blast. . But, come on? Trying to port PS1 style games over? That was just a sick dream. When I think of Nokia, I think of being able to drop a cell phone from a ten story building (do not attempt, it may void any warranties) and being able to dust it off and make a phone call. I love Nokias for their durability. . I haven't used any of their newer phones, especially the tacky looking 'text message' phone, or the cumbersome 'camera phone' . . and I am not in a rush to. However, if the circumstance arose, I would definitely be willing to give one of those a shot over ever thinking about owning an N-Gage. . I tried in vain for 13 seconds to play Tony Hawk 'cloned skater' when I first saw an N-Gage. I was dissapointed. Not really a fan of the series, so maybe that added to it? Also tried Tomb Raider. . once again, for like 13 seconds. . akward controls played the biggest downfall for both games. I am not even wanting to try and use the phone mode from what all of you are saying about it, and I don't dare bother trying to find out what you have to do to use it as such. I also wasn't aware of it's hefty price tag, from what I have heard, I shriek even thinking about people that would consider buying it, let alone coughing up the cash for it. All in all. . not worth a second look in my opinion. Most gaming stores near my house have the display in the front corner of the store, tucked away in a corner, away from all light. I smile thinking that some manager had the foresight to 'hide' it away, while still making it look like, 'Hey, if someone buys one, I get some good revenue, and he's probably out of the door before my better senses come to make me want to kick him in the back of the head for blowing his money like that!' yuk yuk. . shutting up now.
10. Well, if we are going with option #1, then why did I waste all this money on. . . I mean, nothing *pulls doors shut behind him, closing off 'the secret original Star Wars VHS-to-DVD transfer room' from prying eyes* I don't know my feelings if they released an original Star Wars trilogy on DVD. . For the most part, I really enjoyed the special edition features that were included, and thoroughly enjoyed having most of the footage cleaned up quite a bit. It looses a bit of it's 'rustic' feel. . but all the better in my opinion. Minus one or two annoying scenes, all the rest really added to the feel of the movie (and at the same time, a few seemed out of place just because of it's clean feel). I am sure there are going to be rumors for a while about what else is going to be included in the movies, or even the special features disk. . however, I am just going to take it in stride. There are much bigger things I could complain about, so if G.L. says this is what he's putting out, I accept that! lol
11. Ahhh, I see what you are talking about, and while I am curious to see that. . too much is. . well, too much. I can live with one bad scene, I don't want there to be lots though! >_< *sighs* I just don't know about too many 'other' new scenes -_- There is a part of me that would love to see more of a fight sequence between Darth and Obi-Wan. . but with the old style of fighting that they used (you know the one . . the, non-coreographed one), it might hurt the magic, lol
12. I wasn't really dissapointed with this movie, depressed is a better term? I knew it wasn't going to be scary, as most movies that claim to be aren't. But with the title of 'Ghost Ship' I expected it to be more of a horror movie then it turned out to be. Some good back story like many have said, but overall, it was too weak of a movie to really impress me. The saddest thing was that there were a lot of real talent that seemed wasted in this movie. For a movie that almost looked like it had some promise, it sadly failed.
13. From everything I have been reading, I think that for the most part, it will include everything that was shown in the movie theaters (when it was re-released).
"The official definitive versions are the 1997 special editions. That's the version the artist, in this case George Lucas, intended to be seen," Jim Ward said (a Lucasfilm marketer and DVD executive producer)
I really don't have any problems with that edition. I will admit that certain scenes didn't fit, but overall, I am alright with it. Specifically, the scene in the Cantina where Han Solo is confronted by Greedo. .Greedo gets off a pot shot at Han (specially edited in). . Han Solo dodges the shot by moving his head. My problem? The un-natural motion in which he does it huants me to this day. .
14. Well. . it's been a very long wait for many people (definitely including myself), but the original Star Wars trilogy is coming to DVD soon. September 21st is the slated date for release.
From Yahoo Movies: "Star Wars" fans will finally get the Force-feeding they've been asking for. The original three "Star Wars" films ? among the most anticipated on DVD ? will be released in the digital format Sept. 21 in North America, LucasFilm Ltd. and 20th Century Fox announced Tuesday. A price for the package and international release dates were to be revealed later."
I have personally been killing my VHS tapes watching them as often as I have. Anyways, I thought I would share this information with everyone. I know that there are quite a few Star Wars freaks on these boards, and this seemed like it would be a very receptive place to put this information! lol I don't know if I would rather wait till they come out with a 6 DVD Box set, but I have already purchased the 1st and 2nd DVD, and I don't think it would really hurt me to continue this way =) I love Star Wars too much, and money isn't that important for me to need to hold on to. . I am not picky when it comes to it!
15. Wow. . it's unusual for me to find people outside of the group that I hang out with that have the same feelings as you do TN. I admit that I have watched both shows. . more then I should have. . but it's awful writing, and a surprise that both shows are going to be icons for years to come, when much better written comedies die after only a season or two. A few good lines in a show don't make the show worth watching. It's like the people that sit through Nascar waiting for a wreck *smacks forehead against a wall* I know shows like this gives people something to talk about when they are at the 'water cooler' the next day. . but if you can't find something better to talk about then "Oh my, did you hear Ross commited suicide yesterday?" I would suggest you find a hobby that can produce something more then an altered state of reality for your imagination. That may seem a little harsh, so sorry if you take offense to anything I said. I enjoy the shows that have some sort of . . intelligent writing? *grins* Ya, that will work for now.
16.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Sex and a cigarrette seems to work for alot of people....
Guess he have to check to make sure Shell has a gf/bf (not pinning his sexual orientation) to have sex with first. . and smoking may be dangerous, because if the sex is too good, and he falls asleep, then his place could catch on fire, and he would die. . I don't think he wanted to sleep that long *shrug* Just my thoughts. . lol Personally, I am an insomniac, so I usually get to sleep once my body starts to shut down ^_^ It's not the most healthy way to go about it, especially since when I wake up, it's because of a phone call three hours after I finally go to sleep. My bed is pretty comfortable, though my room is usually freezing. Not a problem, but it takes a minute to get used to before I am comfortable in my bed. =) So, don't take my advice. . jot it down as BAD advice *nods*
17. I have no idea what this has to do with secrets in the game Legato284, LOL. . I guess you just wanted it to be known that you love the game. It's all good, but this isn't really the thread to do it in. No sweat though. . just read what the topic is about before you post, and there won't be any worries. Xyander, I have tried to do the second trick you have talked about, but to no avail. . I have only tried twice. . so, I will just have to read your guide while playing the X-Box to understand it. =) On a small side note, some of my buddies spent like ten minutes trying to kill the Marines that come in the bridge at the beginning of the game when you kill the captain =P Always a waste of time. .
18. Are you talking about Tripping the Rift? The captain is a giant purple alien, he has a robot sidekick that is sort of modeled after C-3PO (in certain ways), and the one other alien that is. . well. . slutty? Oh yeah, and Darth Bobo? If that is the new Sci-Fi series that you are talking, I want to see it (at least once). The movie that is floating around the web is pretty funny. I remember watching it like, 3 or 4 years ago . . I thought it was so funny!! Some great one liners, thought I can't remember anyone's names (sorry). . but funny enough for the movie, not sure how it will do as a short series on Sci-Fi. I hope it lives up to some of it's hype. . it would be a shame to ruin that name (though, it's probably what will happen). *shrug* [EDIT] - Oh yeah, it's more of computer generated imagery then an animation. . just saying ^_^ [/END EDIT]
19. Going in a little more detail (just a little) about some of the better RPG systems. . I love the active battle mode in most games. I usually start off a new game playing with active battle mode turned on. . I don't really know why. . I just like playing with a more difficult mode turned on. I thoroughly enjoy having a real challenge layed out before me ^_^ Some games seem too easy, even on a difficult difficulty setting and active battle mode. . but you get some games that make you sweat trying to keep everyone alive while having to worry about why your enemy is still smiling at you =) LOL
20. What type of memory card did you get? The basic memory card is only like $15, so you must have gotten the nice card. . which, in my opinion, is definitely worth it. *nods*
21. Wow. . I have had too many jobs. . I don't even remember some of them. . (is that bad?) My first job was with good old Kroger (one of those food places. . grocery store). I started off as a bagger. . but because I was more intelligent then almost everyone there, I moved up to cashier really fast. I made minimum wage, btw (at the time, it was like. . $5.50? - Ya, it's been a while). Umm. . I have to say. . for a first job. . as bad as it was, I have met some really good people who I still talk to this day ^_^ (specifically, my best friends Jenny/Mike/Jay/John. . good times). Jay and I used to compete with each other in seeing who could scan the most items in the fastest times. Most people would go for the fewest amount of items in the carts. . we would go for the full carts ^_^ It was great. Everyone thought that we were crazy! LOL We also invented the Kroger Olympics! LOL, a set of events that involved using the carts in the parking lots. . we would see how many carts we could push at once. . (I think we cleared out the store on all the carts. . and could still manage to push them. . And that is a lot of carts (one would push, one would steal). Another thing would be to hurdle them sideways. I could barely jump one row, while Jay would jump two easily (he is taller then I am. . that's my excuse). . we had some others. .but oh well, another time. Plus, we would get out of work all the time by doing odd-jobs (often the nasty type) that no one else would volunteer to do. . Not only would we do it well, but we did it so fast that our bosses were pretty impressed ^_^ Anyways, I worked over there for about a full year. I left because they were some idiots. . I asked off Christmas break like, three months in advance, and they said it wouldn't be a problem. . then two months, then a month. . then like, every week till Christmas break. . I don't know that I would have minded, but I was going to Michigan to visit my family up there (no one comes between me and my family). Anyways, a week before we were going to leave for Michigan, they wouldn't let me have it off. . so, I wrote them a 1 week notice (ya, I know that it's supposed to be a 2 week notice) . . don't mess with me!! *waves a fist in an intimidating fashion*. . I have worked lots of places, but I don't think I will ever work at a restaraunt. . just not my cup of tea. . I also won't stoop to trying to sell people stuff. . Retail (right now) is right up my alley. . I am not going to voluntarily try to sell people pieces of crap. . *shrug* shutting up now.
22.
Originally posted by Stephanie Ayler Like the Honda (I think) with the yellow car in it's new style; and every child that saw it would curse out and be at home with a bar of soap in their mouths. That has funny. There are lots more I can tell, but I lost count.
I think you are thinking about the VW commercial. . the new 'bug' convertable? I may be wrong. . The only other yellow car commercial that I saw at all tonight was a Chevy commercial for their new truck that they have out. . All in all, the Bud Light commercials were probably the best. . the AOL commercials with the Orange County Choppers guys were pretty funny. . One of my friends really liked the Budweiser commercial with the Clivesdales(sp) horses and the donkey trying to be with them. . it was more cute then funny. . Umm. . the commercials with Ernheart Jr (sp. . again) were pretty funny. . I loved how the defense was being dragged around by his Nascar (and I am not a fan of Nascar at all). . lol Overall, I think that last years were better, but that may be because I don't remember half of them. . Oh well ^_^
23. *shudders* . . . Why would anyone want to watch Dude, Where's My Car? . . that was a pathetic movie. . I love comedies. . but that classifies as 'couple good parts' label . . and most of those were shown in the previews. . I hate movies like that -_-
24. Personally, I want to see this movie. One - It looks to be a pretty good story line, and a bit darker of a story too. Two - I am really looking forward to seeing if Ashton is any good at playing a serious actor. Anyone can see that his 'goofy' characters work. No doubt about that. I love 'That 70's Show' and remember some antics from "My Boss' Daughter' and the one where he marries Brittany Murphy (curses I can't think of the name). . but like Jim Carrey, I was more then thrilled to see him in 'The Majestic', and am in turn, looking forward to seeing what Ashton Kutcher can do in 'The Butterfly Effect' Just my thoughts really~
25. I was also a big fan of Baldur's Gate on the computer. . I didn't get many of the others. . but I got to play the original and NeverWinter Nights. . both were pretty fun. . Little more of a challenge when you have more to worry about then just YOU. . I am still working on getting my buddy Mike to rent BG: DA2 . . he thinks I should get it. . HA! Oh well. . I can wait (just got back Metroid: Prime and working on playing PSO again. . so, I have time) =P
