  1. The crater is the best place to level up, if you go near the bottom, where lots of dead weeds and stuff are (the screen where you go underwater), you'll find magic pots and movers (among others) there. Magic pots are invincible until u give them an elixir, then u can kill them for 1000ap/8000exp each, movers give 2400ap, and I forget how much exp, but it's a lot. If you don't want to go way down there, mideel forest is good because one trine will usually wipe out all the enemies (great for building up limit breaks too).
  2. To upgrade your chocobo, you just need to keep digging up chocographs and finding them. Certain chocographs release mist and your choco passes out and is taken to the fat chocobo where he upgrades u. Your first upgrade is to light blue, then you can go dig at the chocobo lagoon, south of the forgotton continent. Just keep digging and finding those chocographs.
  3. It's not that hard, all you have to do is invite a chocobo into ur party w/ a mediator (or some1 w/ talk skill and monster talk equipped). Then in battle have one of your characters move onto the space the choco is in, it'll ask if you want to ride it. Although chocos give ur character higher speed and a LOT higher movement, you won't be able to control the chocobo, so it'll be like having one less character =\.
  4. Well you need to synthesize 2 pumice pieces into one Pumice to get Ark. You can only steal 1 pumice piece from Ark himself. I don't remember the fight that well, but I remember his annoying counter-attacks, just try and steal the pumice piece ASAP and then win the battle as fast as you can.
  5. It's 80 enemies, and u don't need to learn both level1 limit breaks to get to level 2....like.....you use braver 8 times to learn cross slash, and when you defeat 80 enemies you learn blade beam. So you don't need to learn it, kill another 80 enemies and meteor rain pops up.
  6. Yeah that's where Hades is, but you need to synthesize 2 pumice pieces into one Pumice, that gem teaches Ark. As for the mini-burmecia that does nothing but increase your treasure hunter rank or whatever. It's been a year since I played 9 so I forget the basics, lol but remember the detailed stuff, weird. Anyway, you get the gold chocobo the same way as you get the dark blue, blue, and red ones. You need to get chocographs and then find them, certain ones take you to fatso choco and he upgrades you. You need to get a red chocobo before you get to gold tho I recall. Once you get a gold you can go to the air garden and dig for stuff, visit fat chocobo, and do a few other things as well.
  7. Yeah most of the movies don't tie in with the series and are just a separate story-line by themselves. The first Kooler movie does fit w/ the series tho, the first one anyway. You see goku's pod escaping from the soon-to-be-dust planet Vegeta and Kooler says to just let it be or whatever, I think one or 2 more movies fit in too.....maybe deadzone. Anyway don't try to analyze and argue the movies w/ the storyline from the series, for the most part they're unrelated.
  8. Nah I doubt ssj2 gohan would've been able to touch Brolli either. Heh ssj goku was able to last against Cell, but with him, Mirai Trunks, and Piccolo going all-out against him he didn't even flinch, until he went to beat the crap out of them anyway. Heh my favorite part is when Goku Kamehameha's him from 1 foot away and Brolly just says "what the hell was that?" and smashes Goku's face in (movie 8). In movie 10 gohan, trunks and goten weren't doing anything to Brolly, so they wish for the dragon to help them. A goku-type person comes down (hard to say if it's really goku's spirit or just the dragon) and tells gohan and goten to push harder, use all their energy, etc. etc. After they kamehameha Brolly (w/ a lil ki blast from Trunks) they look around but don't see Goku, oh well. For some odd reason Brolly doesn't seem as strong in movie 10, I mean Videl goes up against him and Brolly could crush her w/ his breath but just throws her into the water or something wimpy like that.
  9. Hmm.....the pic you saw was probably when Vegeta was letting Cell in his 2nd form absorb android 18, and Trunks was trying to stop him. Vegeta stood in Trunks' way and said he didn't have the guts to stop him, then Trunks blasted him away and Vegeta was lying in the water thinking about it. Anywhoo, about Vegeta, when he blew off cell's arm, cell was a lot stronger than him, he was just taken by surprise. So after Goku beat up Cell and blasted him, and then gave him a senzu, he became even stronger because of the saiya-jin cells inside him. Must have been a larger power-boost than Vegeta's year of training I guess.
  10. I don't think the kaios or kaioshins had any sort of supreme fighting power, they just had certain god-like powers. Kami could self destruct for example, or shin could lock people in place, but they weren't going to whip out any villain-vaporizing beam, well at least none of the ones we've seen. King Kai's other weirdo kais didn't look very formidable, but the other kaioshins actually had some fight in them....er....before Buu killed them anyway. Still I think that Piccolo was probably stronger than kaioshin, but just didn't want to fight him because he had the same KIND of power as whoever kami inherited his kami-ness from.
  11. ah Algus wasn't too hard, yeah magic is the way to go probably, unless you have a geomancer or monk or something like that. Deep dungeon took forever tho, someone told me that the game kept track of gameplay time over 99:99 in the brave story, but I lent my FF Tactics to my friend....gah 6 months ago, should be getting it back soon hopefully =\. Heh I've almost bought the $20 version in different stores just to play the thing >
  12. I forget where the UFO sightings were, I know one's in the desert tho, heh you see them carrying away cows and stuff. After you see all 4 tho you head to the foresty plateus north of Esthar, and that's where u fight the actual UFO, then you go to where Balamb garden was, the lil crater, and fight pupu, give him 5 elixirs blahblahblah, u get his card, which sux. It DOES have an A on it, but the rest of the sides suck, not really worth it unless you HAVE to have all the cards.

Hmm.....I think Sony only bought 18 or 19% of Square, I remember hearing somewhere that 20% was the most you can buy in a company w/o having decisive power or something. Anyway they own enough to keep squaresoft in their corner, which is good enough for me.
  14. I didn't say her story wasn't explained, heh I didn't get that far. but when I saw her after the intro it was many stages later, I had forgotten she was even IN the game!
  15. Yeah that's all pretty right, I'll just add some stuff. Hmm....bibidi was the one who sealed up Majin Buu, most likely because he was hard to control. Babidi released Majin Buu, Buu blasts Gohan unconscious, and everyone thinks he is dead. Vegeta sacrifices himself but still doesn't kill Buu. They need to find the dragonballs to wish back everyone Buu killed, so Trunks goes to his home to find the dragon radar, while Goku keeps Majin Buu busy. He goes SSj3 and seems to be beating him up well, but his power gets drained to quickly in SSj3 form and he has to stop fighting. Kaioshin takes Gohan to his planet (bigger than king kai's but not earth-sized), and kibito heals him there, they give him the Z sword to train with because they were taught that the Z sword could defeat Majin Buu. Even after going SSJ, Gohan has trouble holding the sword up, much less swinging it. Mr. Satan befriends Majin Buu but when some guys go on a shooting spree, it angers Majin Buu and he splits himself up into a good buu(fat) and evil buu(skinny), and they fight. The fat buu tries to turn the evil one into candy but the evil one blows the beam back at him and eats him, becoming Super buu. Goku and Piccolo teach goten/trunks how to fuse, takes them 3 tries. Goku senses Gohan's ki and teleports to find him alive. kaioshin asks Goku to help train gohan so goku throws a big rock at gohan, when Gohan tries to slice the rock the sword breaks and Rou Kaioshin pops out. He powers up Gohan with a spell of his (takes a long time tho). Since Goten and Trunks need to train more to defeat Super Buu, they go into the room of spirit and time, S. Buu demands to fight them but Piccolo said that Buu hasn't killed everyone on Earth like he said he would, so Super Buu releases a ton of ki blasts that seek out and kill everyone on Earth except for Mr. Satan (and chichi cause Buu turned her into an egg and ate her). Piccolo makes Buu wait an hour, then they go into the room of spirit and time where Piccolo destroys the door. Buu screams and rips a hole into kami's lookout, gotenks goes ssj3 and they escape. Piccolo is eaten, and Gohan comes to help, SSJ3 Gotenks gets absorbed and gohan gets the crap beat out of him. Goku teleports in to fuse w/ gohan but buu absorbs him as well, uranai baba (roshi's sis) brings Vegeta to earth to help and he and goku fuse. They allow themself (Vegetto) to be eaten and they take everyone recently eaten out thru Buu's steam, they unfuse, w/ the good buu out of him he reverts to his kid form and destroys the Earth. Whew....ah....hmm....the earth and people are wished back, goku uses a spirit bomb w/ help from Satan and Vegeta (asking earthlings to raise their hands). It's not enough tho, so they wish all of Goku's energy restored, he goes ssj and pushes the genki dama into buu, killing him. my god I have too much time on my hands ><
  16. 1. Triple Triad, tetra master felt too random and had one prize (that sucked) 2. Well Espers aren't here...grr....so Summons. I WOULD pick Aeons (they look a hell of a lot cooler), but you can't restore their HP! >< 3. Materia definately, again where's the esper choice?! 4. Tiny Bronco, driving around a school doesn't even sound fun 5. Highwind, for spaceships the other 2 were pretty slow 6. Sephiroth of course, duh! 7. Ruby and Ozma were both equally hard, Emmy's right behind. Ultima/Omega weapon from 8 were pitiful w/ holy wars. 8. Bahamut Zero 9. FF7, actually wanted to save the world, not like 8 heh 10. Overall? FF7 I guess why wasn't FF6 included! >=\
  17. Hmm.....well Auron IS cool w/ his samurai style attacks, but he pissed me off in the game too many times. He knows EVERYTHING, and tell syou nothing, saying crap about how it's your story, or just laughing and walking away >=(. Tidus is more....I dunno, fun, an anti-squall of sort, heh. He actually has a personality that doesn't make you wish someone would drop a house on him....ah is it obvious I'm not a big Squall fan? Heh, anyway they're both cool, not sure why Auron always has his left hand in a sling when he's not attacking tho, whatta weirdo.

300 hours? Lol not even going to comment on that. I'm at 50 hours and I can go fight the last boss, and I don't go through the game particularly fast or slow. So that's about the average. The game only resembles FF8 in the character design (tidus and squall look like brothers or something) and the music. You'll be glad to see MP, treasure boxes, and armor. No accessories tho =\. And despite having free control over what your character to learn, because they all start on different parts of the sphere grid, they still manage to get that unique feel like in FF9 or FF4. Also, you could play blitzball for a very long time, and it IS pretty fun once you level up your characters a bit and they don't completely suck >
  19. Quecklain's not that hard, you just need to get a monk or 2 with stigma magic, and have them protected against sleep, Quecklain's nightmare doesn't do every status effect, just sleep, poison, and....darkness I think. he only has about 1000hp too, so just use ninja/knight combos, forget black magic or anything with a charge time, you just want to get this battle over w/ quickly. If you use your strongest characters, he shouldn't get off more than one nightmare, and if he does your remaining guys will finish him off. Agrias's holy explosion works great, but any of her holy moves will be fine.
  20. Ok, I just went into the calm lands a while ago (gave up on this weird part), where you train chocobos, and do the monster arena thing. Anyway, near the middle of the place is a metal rock with an Al Bhed inscription on it, something along the lines of "Seventeen right, then 4 right" or something like that. So I did that and pressed X, on a weird swirly mark on the ground was another inscription, "continue on, find me". So I went north to the freaky tree thing near the valley, guess what? Another Al Bhed inscription. I don't have all the primers so half of the sentence was wrong, but I managed to decode it using the other ones, it says (something like) "with the vale at your back, go forty-nine, then seven right in the truest line". I asked my friend who's beaten the game already, and he had no clue wtf I was talking about, he had to go there and see for himself, said he hasn't seen anything about it in guides and walkthrus. I was just wondering if anyone else knows what this is. A Vale is just a valley, so.....yeah it's pretty big and I don't know if "go forty-nine" means go down, right, or what. I don't THINK it's the remiem temple, that has nothing to do w/ Al Bhed, so I'm pretty stumped, if anyone can help me out that'd be cool, w/o spoiling the storyline please =P, I'm only at mt. gagazet. thanks

Hmm....well Tidus should be your strongest shooter throughout the whole game, so far I've made most of my shots by making Tidus a left or right forward, so he waits by the goal, then have someone just swim along the outer edge of the sphere and get 2 or 3 of the defenders to follow you stupidly, then pass to Tidus (or some other shooter) and shoot. Other things are to use exhibition to learn new techs, that way the other time won't level up and you can concentrate on just winning. Anything you can learn in league or tournament can be learned in an exhibition match, you just won't level up or anything. Hmm....what else....oh, recruit people! they're usually a lot better than the bozos you're training. heh the best I've found so far is Ropp, you can recruit him by pressing square next to Rin, the al bhed shop-owner guy, in his first shop....um....I forget the city....it's by the chocobo rental place, where u meet the chocobo eater freak. He's at a high level and has a lot of skills, try and recruit him if you can.
  22. Gau doesn't have enemy skills really, that's more of a Setzer thing. Gau.............I don't know wtf he does, heh anyway. You have to go to Mobliz first and buy dried meat, then when you see Gau in battle you use it on him and don't attack. If you do attack he'll just say some nonsensical mumbo jumbo and spin away. As for that Figaro mess, you go there a few times, but if you just "Escaped", then you have to head East to the Returner's hideout, you can rent a chocobo in a nearby city. When u're asked if you want to join the Returners, say no 3 times, you'll get a Genji glove that lets you hold 2 weapons, if you say yes you'll get a gauntlet that lets you hold 1 weapon w/ 2 hands, altho they may sound pretty equal, get the genki glove! heh it's much more useful later on.
  23. Devil May Cry is an awesome game, but u're better off saving your money for FFx. DMC can be beaten in a rental, heh I only got to stage 17 or so, but I had school >
  24. Nah the town after Figaro sinks is......damn it starts w/ a K......oh well there's nothing for you to do IN that town, but if you go to the bar and talk to Shadow (and you have an open slot in your party, meaning 3 or less people), you can hire him to join you. After that you head south to.....I forget if it's the phantom forest or opera house or what, just head south. Kohlinhagen! er.....you get the idea, heh that's the name of the city, whew. Oh yeah btw Thamasa isn't til later with Strago and Relm and such, also if you sleep at any inn w/ Shadow in your party you have a chance of seeing one of his hidden dream sequences, not overly important but doesn't hurt.
  25. don't forget about plants, before the saiya-jins took over, planet Vegeta was called planet Plant, so it was the vegetables vs. the plants. Sure there's other stuff, I dunno I'm not in a thinking mood.
