I have AC2, and it's pretty freaking fun, although I forgot a lot since my friend's been "borrowing" it for the past 6 months >=(, anyway the arena depends on how you play. I tried a buncha strategies, light and fast, heavy and full of weapons, it all depends on what you're good at. In one of the arenas I flew up to the top of a tall tower (there were 2 or 3 in the field) and I managed to use a sniperish rifle to pick away the other guy's life. The laserblade is also extremely handy and u can often slice the crap out of them before they do anything. I managed to beat all of the arena people except that.....one bastard....forget his name but after you get #1 or beat the game (I forget), a few more challengers come, he's #55 or 65 or something and is INSANELY HARD! ugh too bad more equipment didn't open up, I have all this $$ and nothing to do with it ><

congragulations, how much sp and crap does he give u? By the way an ez trick if you want to spectacle-ify someone is to open up the menu immediately after using them, then it's a lot easier to read all the crap w/o being hassled.

the only point of the 1/35 of a soldier is in the Japanese vers., that gives Cait Sith another limit break, I forgot what it did tho, wasn't terribly useful.

Gaming Thats right, FF characters in Kingdom Hearts
SephirothNIN replied to Sephiroth's topic in Noosphere
Yeah I read in EGM that Aeris was in Kingdom Hearts, and as it wasn't an April issue I see no reason for them to lie. Also Haley Joel Osment will be playing the voice of....Sora was it? More EGM info I guess. Too bad they didn't do a Final Fantasy-type game, with different worlds and characters from all of the Final Fantasies ::sniff:: -
Yeah the quality of vcds isn't always consistant. Besides it'd be an awful lot of vcds to have 291 DBZ eps, 64GT eps, 119(?) DB eps the 13 movies specials aaaaaah

Bebi was SORT of a Tsufurijin. Dr. Myuu, who made him was a Tsufurujin....so....well I'm not sure what to call Bebi, android, bio-android? Whatever he's from the planet plant though.

Blue uniforms don't automatically mean Soldier, Cloud was simply in the Shinra army, Soldier was the elite people, and he said himself in the mideel flashback w/ Tifa in the lifestream that he didn't have what it took to get into Soldier. President Shinra sees the Mako in Cloud's eyes (and sees him kicking ***) and assumes it's because he was in Soldier.

Well most of the movies don't take place in the same time as the series. But movies 1 (deadzone) takes place before the radditz series, since gohan's a wimp, and movie 2 is after radditz and....well goku knows kaioken in movie 2 (world's strongest), but it can't have been between goku training w/ king kai and vegeta coming, so it's hard to tell u see. Gohan's a kid in movies 1-9, and in 10-14 he's a teen. That's the best I can do.

Anime Has anyone seen vampire hunter D: bloodlust?
SephirothNIN replied to Vampire Hunter D's topic in Otaku Central
I liked Bloodlust, but I don't know I prefer the original. Bloodlust does have its cool fight scenes, but the last one I was pretty disappointed with, it lasted all of 1 min and they each did maybe...2 things each. Bloodlust was a lot longer tho...too bad the left hand's voice (right hand?) in Bloodlust sucks, oh wll overall it's pretty cool. -
If you've ever played the old SNES DBZ fighting games, Ultimate Battle 22 plays the same way. Punch, kick, ki, fly (into sky or back down to the ground), and dash forward/backward. Final Bout is.....almost the same but isn't 2d-handdrawn and is computer animated instead, and is pretty sluggish (jumping takes forever!). Final bout has a nice character creation mode that you can build up a character in however. Legends would have to be my favorite however. The fighting system is radically different (only an attack button, block, powerup, and a ki blast), but the story mode is just so freaking cool. It almost seems like an rpg because who you pick to fight changes the outcome of certain battles. Like in the cell battle, if you send out anyone besides goku or gohan, Cell will make cell jr.'s and you'll fight them. But if you send in goku or gohan Cell will fight you himself. At the end of every "saga" you get graded on how well you followed the manga storyline as well. I just wish it had secrets to unlock or something. Well when you play thru in story mode, anyone you use or fight against is unlocked in the story mode. It also has an awesome challenge mode that has different fights, like goku vs. jees and burtuur, aaaaah Legends is just plain fun, despite it's primitive controls.

You don't really buy new weapons (unfortunately), but instead you upgrade them. To do that you need to find the weapons magazines lying around the game, like "Weapons monthly March" or something. Each one has certain upgrades for certain characters. Then you have to find the right items and go to a customization shop and they'll upgrade it for you. For Angelo you need to learn new limit breaks for Rinoa, you can do this by finding/buying the magazine "Pet Pals 1", or 2, 3, etc. Each time u do this you can learn a new skill, go to the menu and status and into the submenus until you get to angelo's skills. There you can select a skill to learn. Each skill starts empty and fills up w/ red as you "Walk" angelo (meaning you walk around w/ Rinoa in your party). When you've learned a new skill you'll hear a chime and you can go learn something new. Some of angelo's attacks like angelo search suck, but wishing star is extremely powerful, and angelo recover can come in handy.

I saw it when I was little (vampire Hunter D too), and I don't really remember them much (I was 7 or 8), but when I watched both of them again later on I really liked them. Akira would be a good first-time anime because it doesn't focus only on comedy or romance, or just all blood and guts. I don't know it really seems much more professional and like a full-length movie. My favorite part is probably when he's in the hospital room and those creepy teddy bear things are sloshing around. The part where he flies up and takes out the satellite is pretty freaking cool as well. I don't think Akira is hyped up enough, I saw Ghost in the Shell because I heard it was good and when I saw it was from the creator of Akira or whatever I had hope, but I was severely disappointed. =\

Steiner's always the strongest physically, but I too found his sword techniques to be a bit blah. Stock break and climhazzard especially. Also thunder strike never seemed to hit, but shock made up for it. Magic sword was also incredibly useful early on, and he had lots of funny moments. Too bad he couldn't use the save the queen sword, Beatrix was much cooler.

Ack I have a problem. I use the red/white/yellow cords that came w/ my PS2 to connect it to my VCR, and that's plugged into my TV. BUT when I try to play a dvd movie it keeps screwing up. My friend told me that it has some built in safety device that prevents people from copying dvd movies onto a tape. But my friend's dvd player works fine so I wonder if anyone knows what the hell's wrong with Sony for doing that. Argh all it manages to do is piss me off, it only messes up w/ Americanish movies like Matrix, something about mary, american pie 2, anything like that. Anime dvds work just fine.....and as for plugging an RF switch directly into the tv, something's wrong w/ mine and it makes staticy sounds, anyone have any suggestions that don't involve buying a new.....anything?

G/S/B Master aaaaaah don't mangle Simpsons quotes like that! Anyway sure yamcha's 'spirit bomb' isn't the strongest move....um....ever, but it is cool/original how he can control its movements. Goku can move his kamehameha somewhat, but not the same as Yamcha...well either way he's a wimp I guess.

That's the complicated way of beating Magi-Master. The easiest way is to use berserk on him so that he can't cast any magic on you, then use Phantom to make your party invisible to physical attacks. He'll still counterattack with Ultima when he dies though. If you use the esper...ah...palidor your party will randomly use jump attacks, that's a good way to make sure your whole party isn't wiped out from Ultima. Life3 is a sure-fire way to survive Ultima...so...any of those will work. And yes Locke is in that star-shaped mountain range, you'll need to make 2 teams and switch between them to solve the puzzles. Most aren't too complicated, just step on pressure-sensitive squares to open up a path for the other party. I got stuck for a while because I didn't notice that one switch I pulled released water and cooled down the lava (so it was walkable).

Personally I've been wanting them to start over for a long time. It's been SO long since I've seen the first vegeta fight, or the ginyu dances. Every time CN releases the next batch of episodes and they go through them all, they start back at the same part! Argh....I just hope you're sure it started over, heh I didn't catch it today but I'll check tomorrow, having not seen the eps in a long time it feels more "new" to me for some reason.

Well Gohan and Cell were having their kamehameha face-off type thing, and vegeta simply knocked him off balance for a split second, enough for Gohan to overpower him. Either way I say Gohan should get the credit. Otherwise u have to say goku helped cause he was telling Gohan what to do and stuff.

Anime The Kame Kazi Ghost Attack!!!!!!
SephirothNIN replied to SSJ Gotenks ok's topic in Otaku Central
Goten's ghost kamikaze attack is cool, but I dunno I prefer Buu's (after he absorbs gotenks anyway), it's just as goofy plus it blows the hell out of Gohan when he (stupidly) attacks it, even tho Goku told him not too, ah well. -
I already have the trickster and the fortune or whatever you get from Clik, haven't played it in a while so I don't remember if I got the 50-battle fun city one. Either way it's not that my guys aren't strong enough for the cave of trials, it's just one freaking guy! The boss of level....7 or 8 is a funnythief lv99, and w/ a funny slayer he's ez. But after that he becomes a random encounter, and sometimes a group of...10 or so funnythief lv99 drop from the sky and ambush me and I'm screwed. Even a character w/ Bunny shoes can't do crap against them argh! I can't leave the funnyslayer equipped anyway, and even WITH it they'd still trounce the crap out of me. I have bunny shoes on Claude AND Ashton! Gah if only I could stop fighting those bozos, they have too many HP for spells to stop them before they gang up and beat the crap out of me. Heh the bosses aren't a problem, maybe I need to buy some more go-home frogs =\. Hey what's the point of the santa's boots anyway? I haven't gotten anything too valuable from inns, maybe it depends what inn you stay at?
-
Gohan gets absorbed by Buu so...don't know what ur friend was thinking. Vegetto gets eaten by Buu as well, but goku and vegeta split up inside and they pull out Gohan, trunks, fat buu, etc. Anyway in the end Goku completely destroys Buu w/ a spirit bomb.

Just what other Squaresoft games use anime cinemas? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Xenogears, which had awesome cinemas btw. I could care less if it's CG or anime-style, I figure they'll pick whichever one suits the gameplay and the engine.

Anime A channel that shows dbz!!! NOT CN!!
SephirothNIN replied to SSJ Gotenks ok's topic in Otaku Central
Well the Spanish episodes are on Telemundo, a regular cable channel..might be able to get it w/ a plain antennae but I don't know. When I'm at my aunt's, she has digital cable, and Japanese DBZ is on Sundays at....7:30 and Wednesdays at....10 I believe. It's as unedited as the Spanish version and just as non-English too tho. They show a new one on Sunday and then repeat it on Wed. I think, last time I checked anyway. -
mmmm Star Ocean....I think there were exactly 87 endings, altho I'm not sure if that includes the 3 or so 'special endings'. The only thing is that u can change the ending u get very easily by using books to alter friend/romance values for people =\. The only real different endings involve celine and that prince guy....ernest and opera...maybe...ack I forgot. Anyway all that creation stuff was awesome, and the cave of trials is easily the most freakingly hard dungeon I've ever played. I STILL can't get by the 9th level, but my guys are only around level 130 =\. The first disc is fun, but the 2nd disc (paticularly the fields) felt kind of blah, cept the wisemen they're cool of course. Dias...yeah he looks cool but once u get all of his killer moves it's kind of disappointing, Ashton's a lot better =P. Plus the rumbling is the best in almost any PS1 game, if only it had more bosses that had something in relation to the story, instead of random big monster at the end of a dungeon....ah well, still a great FF-alternative

I love Xenogears....altho FF7 and FF Tactics are still more fun to me, and they just rereleased Xenogears recently so it shouldn't be THAT hard to get a hold of. My friend told me the creators were big Evangaleon fans, and XG has a lot of gears and fighting...but I've never seen Eva so I don't know how accurate that is. Doesn't matter the story and fighting system were completely awesome. Anyway Xenogears is part 5 of the 'xenogears' 6-part saga. Xenosaga, part 1, is coming to the PS2 sometime this...fall I think, maybe xmas, and they're going to release the other parts after that, and when they get to 5 they're going to remake Xenogears =P, mmmmm can't wait.
