I won't go ruining it for those who didn't figure it out from your previous post, Blayze, but I'll play along...[/size] [color=seagreen]Dash was shocked. Clark was suddenly dead. They had had a great conversation just before they had went to sleep, and now he was dead. Just like that. "I need to get out of here..." Dash thought to himself, in the verge of panic. He felt the need to leave the camp immediately, but he came to second thoughts after everybody started to point their fingers at Alex, which caused him to leave. Dash didn't know if Alex was quilty or not, but he didn't want to take the chance of wandering into the woods alone with so many possibilities to die everywhere. If it wasn't the beasts, it was the people gone crazy. Now they were going crazy as well, it seemed... Dash's thoughts went back to the cave, where they had left the other eighteen survivors. Dash couldn't help wondering if they were still alive...[/color]

[B]OOC:[/B] I hope everybody's cool with my "wild people"... [color=seagreen]Dash, Avian, Clark and Luther backed away towards the horrendous wall. The group of savage people kept approaching them with gleaming eyes. "They're barking mad!" Avian yelped. Then she began muttering to herself. "What can I do?! I'm going to die here, and I don't want that!" Dash stared at the blood-stained people. Six in total, four males and two females, wearing tatters of modern clothing and pieces of grey fur. Now that they were much closer, Dash noticed that the biggest man leading the group had a dark skin under all the blood. Black-skinned tall man... It was [I]him[/I]! "Guys! They're survivors from the plane! I recognize them!" "Yeah, I think I've seen some of them too", Luther agreed. "But why are they acting like that?" The leader raised his spear. The others began growling and swinging their weapons. "Never mind that - we're screwed!" Clark squeaked. "NO!!!" Avian screamed to the savages suddenly. "You will not hurt us! You were on the same plane that carried us to this island! You are civilized people, not beasts! Get ahold of yourself!" The girl's courageous outburst seemed to baffle the assaulters. They stared at her with their gleaming eyes for a moment. Then they made their move. Just as the wild people were ready to pierce them with their spears, a creepy howl came from the ledge above them. A huge shadow leaped over Dash and the others who were huddled against the stone wall. It attacked the black man, ripping him in two. The others ran away howling in fear, but the beast catched them. Dash couldn't quite tell what the beast was. It was roughly feline, twice as big as a bear, and it's grey fur had white stripes, black spots and a red mane. Also, it had a pair of horns sticking out of it's forehead. The last surviving savage ran to the woods towards the city, pursued by the hellish beast, and soon they were both out of sight. Dash and his companions sat silent for a long while. "What the fuck?" Dash finally exclaimed. He wiped the sweat from his forehead. "What kind of monster was that?!" Luther couldn't help asking. "Whatever it was, I'm sure glad it didn't notice us!" Clark answered. They all stood up and tried to wipe some of the dust from their clothes. "Oh no!" Avian cried out, pointing towards the city. "There's more of the wild people!" Three people approached them, walking hunchbacked. Dash looked for a way to escape, but soon a sensation of relief filled him as he recognized the comers as Alex, Kat and Mike.[/color] [B]OOC[/B]: Blayze and the others, maybe you barely avoided encountering the "hellion", but you could've seen a glimpse of it. Just something for you to write about...

[color=seagreen]Dash felt uneasy returning to the city this soon after almost losing his life there, but the others gave him confidence. Now that he had calmed down, he saw that they were actually a quite nice bunch of people. He walked with Avian, Clark and a young silent man called Darren Luther. When he was counting the survivors, Dash had noticed that most of them were young adults, with only few children or people over thirty. Dash was sure he had seen more of them on the beach the day they had crashed but they hadn't come to the caves. The four of them were circling the outerskirts of the city, far from the towering temple at the center. Dash couldn't take his eyes out of it, and was a bit bitter that Alex hadn't taken him to the group that searched the wreck temple area. But maybe that was the best, as he had been attacked when he tried to approach it. "Guys, I wonder if Alex and the others are alright? I have a feeling that the killer lives near the temple, because that's where I was attacked." Avian nodded. "I don't think it was such a good thing to split up, either." "But hey, at least we're safe this way", Clark laughed dryly, getting scornful looks from the others. After walking for a good fifteen minutes, they saw the other end of the valley - almost vertical wall formed by the mountains. "It's like a cauldron, this valley", Avian said to herself. Then she squinted her eyes. "Hey... I think there's something carved to that mountain side!" "Let's go look!" Luther said, taking the front. As they approached the high wall of stone, they saw the carvings that sent chills down their spine: faceless people getting slaughtered and massacred in thousands of horrible ways: spears, fires, blades, beasts, torture... The featureless faces cried silently, just like in Dash's dream he had in the screaming head statue at the beach. Dash couldn't bear to look at the wall for long, so he turned his face to the city - and the temple. "What kind of folk lived here?!" Clark exclaimed in disgust. "I mean... Christ!" "Um... I think they haven't gone anywhere..." Dash said weakly. The others turned to him and saw about six men and women wearing rags and fur approaching them, holding spears, metal pipes and a net. All of their bodies were covered with some dark red paint. It didn't take long for Dash to realize that it was blood.[/color]

You should save it to the next issue when (or if) you have more material by then. But you're the chief editor so you can do pretty much whatever you like. ;D

I really would encourage the switch to bi-weekly, because not much happens in a week to report... :/ Also, you should cut the advertisement I sent you from next week's issue, because it's no longer relevant (OB Survivor has already ended). Oh, and I'm a [I]he[/I], not she. Eh, I know it's kind of a girl's name I have as my screen name, but I chose it for a different reason (it's my real surname translated into English). Good to see you haven't given up on this project!

Eh, I don't think there's going to be a next OB Survivor for a long while - at least not made by me. XP These games are really time-consuming and draining to make, but at least there's so much to gain from them as well! ;D But maybe in the distant future... Mog the Moogle tried to speak to the audience, but had to resort to a gaint megaphone to get his squeaky voice heard. [i]"AHEM!!! YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE, KUPO!!!"[/i] The audience fell silent, with the exception of Ling's Panda who still clapped her mighty paws before getting shushed by Yoshimitsu. "Thank you, kupo. We now have the results. If the two finalists would turn to face the screen behind you, kupo..." The screen lit up, showing the game's logo. "The winner of the OtakuBoards Survivor: Game On! along with the title of the Ultimate Videogame Survivor [I]is[/I]..." Lara Croft and Ling Xiaoyu looked at each other smiling. Then the picture of the winner flashed on the screen. [color=seagreen]Dash sat against the wall of the cave, his arms wrapped around his legs. He was thinking of the girl. He knew her name, as he had just asked her not long before she got butchered. Allison Dressler. Age seven. Couldn't remember who she had travelled with on the plane, but she had been very certain that whoever they were all dead now. She had been a serious girl. So unlike him. Dash had been glad to have something to occupy his mind with after the nearly-fatal excursion to the ruined city. He had forgotten all about the incident momentarily as he was listing the names. 26 people lived in this cave now. Well, 25 now that Allison was dead. Dash was pretty certain that not everybody had come here. He didn't see the larged black-skinned man that had disciplined him on their first day here. Maybe he was dead too. Maybe everybody in the world were dead except them. Dash buried his face into his knees and cried. Like a crybaby should.[/color] [size=1][B]OOC:[/B] Yeah, I know. He's pathetic.[/size]

[color=seagreen]It wasn't long before people started to arrive at the waterfall cave. Dash tried to count them, but it was dark and the people kept moving from place to place and he quit somewhere around twenty. He walked to Alex, who everybody seemed to already regard as the leader of this rag-tag group. "Hey, Alex? Don't you think we should make a count on all the people, get their names and such? I'd be more than happy to do that." Then he lowered his voice and whispered: "I can also check if I recognize the person in the city. I know I didn't see him or her properly, but still." Alex shrugged. "Okay, sounds like a great idea, but why did you ask my permission to do that?" Dash blushed. "Eh... I actually don't know. I... Oh, just forget it. I'm going to fetch some paper and a pen I think I saw in one of the bags people brought here." Dash walked to Avian, who along with a man and a woman had brought a whole bunch of bags from the piece of the aeroplane they'd discovered. Dash explained what he was going to do. "That sounds good", Avian agreed. "Let's see... This suitcase has a whole bunch of documents, you could use... [I]Aah![/I]" Avian screamed and dropped the bunch of papers she had taken from the case. "What is it?" Dash asked. "Look for yourself! Look what's written to those papers!" Avian shouted and pointed. People started to gather around them. The papers were otherwise normal-looking business documents, but on each of them was written a sentence in red:[/color] [center][color=Red][I]YOU ARE GOING TO DIE![/I][/color][/center]

Yes, I posted the last challenge earlier this morning, after getting Sakura's answers. It's a long read (took me few hours to write even though I did copy&paste a lot), but as it says in the end, [B]Doukeshi/Lara[/B] came out on top. Now it's up to her to make up the decision whether Sakura/Yuna or Raiyuu/Xiaoyu has to leave this game. The final will take place next week, in a whole new thread with a public poll. The stupid Pokedex didn't know what made it decide which, it went into a great big yawnsome lecture about how it might be because of night or day, or male or female ... then at the end it said 'but no one really knows' so it was all a big waste of time! Oh, and then Silcoon evolves into Beautifly, and Cascoon turns into Dustox. That's at level twelve." "Ah, Wurmple's level has to be level 7, and it is more likely for it to evolve into a Silcoon during the day, and a Cascoon at night, plus, females have a better chance of becoming a Silcoon, while males are more likely to evolve into a Cascoon?, Yuna explained. ?Kupo, the Pokémon [b]Wurmple evolves into Silcoon during daytime and ito Cascoon if it?s night[/b]. Everybody got this one right. But both Lara and Yuna forgot to mention that [b]Silcoon becomes Beautifly and Cascoon becomes Dustox when they evolve again[/b], so they got only one point from this question, where as Xiaoyu got two. [color=seagreen]The silent, dim streets of the ruined city creeped Dash out. He began to have serious doubts if it had been wise to come here in the first place. He just aimed for the plane, looming in front of him. He had a tingling feeling that he needed to go there. It was almost like the wreck was summoning him. Only a block to go. Suddenly a dark figure emerged from one of the stone houses, holding a spear. Dash halted. He couldn't make out the details because sun was shining straight into his eyes. "Hello? Who are you?" In a split moment the figure had hurled the spear at him. In that same split moment Dash thought that it was over now - he was dead. But the spear had landed between his feet, only inches away from his crotch. "Eaawh!!" Dash shouted once he realized that he had almost died. Quickly he turned away and ran. He ran like he had never ran before, with adrenaline gushing into his blood, all the way up the street and up the hill and into the forest and into the thick long grass, past the dead old woman still tied into her plane seat, until he came to the waterfall. He dived into the pond, and counted to ten. Then he swam to the surface, gasping for breath. "Dash?" someone shouted from the rocks. It was Alex.[/color]

You just have to memorize the path where the butterflies are. The fact is that they never switch place even though they seem to be moving. There's a certain area around each red butterfly that if touched will trigger a battle. Just avoid that area by walking the opposite edge of the path and you'll be fine. Oh, and in the last path where you get the sigil as a reward you actually have to backtrack from your starting point to get one of the blue butterflies, and then return and go through the rest of the path. I really didn't find the butterfly game to be nearly as difficult or frustrating as say the chocobo racing or the thousand-fold accursed Blitzball! Even the lightning dodging is easy when you mute the voices, find a proper spot with three bolts striking in a row, and take short breaks to rest your eyes.

[color=seagreen]Dash walked behind the others, but couldn't help looking constantly back to the city, which was out of sight already. Alex, Mike and Kat chatted cheerily on how they'd spend the days in this paradise before they were rescued. [I]Had they already forgotten all about the slain man?![/I] He couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something in the ruined city drew Dash towards it. Suddenly he stopped, and the others walked on and soon disappeared amidst the trees. Dash turned on his heels and ran back to the city. Soon he was on the edge of the clearing, staring down to the houses just like Alex had did only moments ago. Alex... He and the others didn't want him bothering them, Dash felt it. He was better off alone. Alone in the city... Rapidly he began to descend the hill towards the valley where the city was located. His anger grew with every step he advanced. He didn't need anyone breathing in his neck, always checking on him. He was finally free! [/color] [size=1][B]OOC:[/B] Sorry if I wrote in a confusing way, the main point is that Dash is now in the city. I just wanted to show off Dash's irrational mood swings.[/size]

[COLOR=SeaGreen]Dash wasn't eager to leave the waterfall. He found the sweet, fresh water comforting and relaxing after the shock of seeing the butchered man. He had never seen a dead person before... or at least he didn't remember seeing one. The pond had led his thoughts into another things. Someone had said to him that he "cried like a waterfall". He didn't remember who, but he remembered the mocking voice. Maybe it was his big brother or sister - if he had one. As he was running through the long hay with Kat and Michael, he tried to remember where he was from. America, of course, [I]that[/I] he remembered. Several states came to his mind, so he figured that his family had been moving a lot. No... A trailer van! He had lived in a trailer van! "Watch out!" Mike shouted, but too late. Dash stumbled into an airplane seat - with somebody still tied in it. Dash screamed, and tears gushed from his eyes. He laid on the ground next to the seat, with his eyes closed. All he had see when he fell was that the body belonged to an elderly woman. "Come on, you don't need to see that", Mike said and lifted him up with one seemingly effortless heave. "Are you alright? Nothing strained or broken?" Kat asked. "Uh, don't think so..." Dash answered, wiping away his tears.[I] Like a waterfall...[/I] "Good", Mike said gently and patted his shoulder. "There's Alex. Wonder what he's found?"[/COLOR]

[color=seagreen]Dash slept poorly. He kept waking up every once in a while, he tossed and turned in the sand, and when he fell asleep, the nightmares began. The dream was the same he had seen when he had taken a nap in the mouth of the rock head: faceless people in the plane, screaming silently. Only now there were some identified persons mixed up: Alex, Clark, Mike, and Avian who sat next to him. People who were stranded here with him. Finally the sun began to rise. Dash rubbed his reddened eyes and saw the musclebound guy, Mike, standing away from the others, gazing into the endless ocean. Dash got up and walked to him. "What's up?" he said cheerily. "Oh, you're awake already", Mike replied. "Good. I was wondering if you could come and gather some breakfast with me." "Sure! You know, I'm pretty good at climbing into trees. I even woke up in one after we had crashed, heh!" Mike gave him a smile, but the smile was the sort you give to a silly pet. Dash didn't mind, he was happy now.[/color]

For all we now, we could be surrounded by savage cannibals right this moment." "Stop that!" Dash exclaimed, making Clark laugh out loud. "Don't take it seriously, dude. Let's go check out the surroundings tomorrow morning and we'll maybe get more answers. What do you say?" "I'm worried we'll only find more questions..." Avian sighed.
