1. Fox's eyes flickered open, he stared at Siren. He felt his scar, then saw that she, too, had a scar just above her heart. He felt her scar, then looked into her eyes. He stood, picking her up with him. Deedlit gasped, her son's eyes open. Fox pulled Siren close, kissing her as best he could without hissing through the pain in his collarbone. Deedlit wrung her hands and prayed to the elven gods in thanks for bringing her son back...
2. Fox dashed forward, cleaving the first orc he saw in half. He drew out a chain whip, flinging its lethal morning-star end at the nearest ogre. The beast fell dead, and Fox saw an elven blade embedded in its back. Deedlit:I'm not about to lose you again. Not when I've just met you. Ah! Deedlit was knocked unconscious by a huge hammer. A small trickle of blood dripped from the cut on her forehead, but she was otherwise unhurt. Another scream pierced the night. Siren was in trouble! Fox turned, and he saw a huge ogre holding her by the wings. He leaped over the axe of one ogre, battling valiantly to get to her. Fox:SIREN! I'll come back to you! I WILL SAVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! Suddenly, another axe swung, glancing off of Fox's collarbone. A huge rush of blood poured from the wound just over his heart. Fox jammed Alaris into the ogre, decapitating it. He jumped onto a tree stump, nocking an arrow to his bow. He launched the missile at the ogre holding Siren. The ogre died, dropping Siren as he fell. The battle was over. Fox hobbled over to Siren, lifting her onto his right arm. He limped over to his mother, lifting her light frame onto his left shoulder. They walked into a cabin, where a scene of carnage unfolded. Goblins lay dead on the floor, and Ryoko's teeth were covered in gray-black blood. Weapons all over were stained with the same blood. Only a little bit of red blood was on the floor, and it belonged to Fox. He put his now-conscious mother on the floor at the same time as he put his lover to the ground. He swayed where he stood, then fell unconscious. He didn't think he'd wake up...

4. Fox was absorbed in his tales with his mother, telling her how he'd become the captain of the Valis guard, how he'd found and defeated the last of the Cave Trolls, and how he'd always felt a loss with each of them, for he never before had had a mother to love, a mother to tell of his accomplishments. Then, as he began to get drowsy, Deedlit began humming the lullaby again, rocking him to sleep as if he were a small child. He drifted into sleep again, dreaming... Fox leaped onto the platform. He pulled one arrow from his quiver, nocked it, and let it fly to its mark. The ogre fell, releasing Siren's wing. Fox darted down, picking up the unconscious form of his mother, Siren hobbling over to lean on his shoulder. A great gash from an ogre's axe bled just over Fox's heart. He kissed Siren as they moved on towards the rest of the party, who'd been sleeping inside the cabin the whole time through the attack. Or so he'd thought, for when he entered the cabin, a scene of battle unfolded before him. Wounded and hurt was everybody, but the goblins and orcs lay on the floor, all dead. Though none was as gravely hurt as Fox was... Fox awoke, wondering what the dream could mean. He thought it was just a dream....but then he heard the ogres. The sound of Ogres, Goblins, and Orcs marching in a battle pattern. And Fox, Siren, and Deedlit were the only ones awake. Fox grabbed his sword, letting Deedlit and Siren make their own decisions. He stopped to whisper to Siren as he walked out the door. Fox:I can't bear to die without telling you. I...I've fallen in love with you, Siren. I love you. He walked out as she stared after him, sadness and joy mixed in her eyes.
5. Delita decided to sacrifice armor for speed, sheathing his armor and holding his sword in his hand, rather than his sword BEING his hand. Lacroiz gasped, almost dropping the scimitars, and "Eve" screamed aloud. Blaze stood before them, broken tubes and machinery hooked up to his body. At his "sister's" scream, again he flickered into his own being. Instantly, he turned and ripped the tubes, the machines, from his body. Vladimir walked out, the smile finally vanished from his face. Vladimir:What's this?!? Kill them, fool! Kill them using your Arc Beam! Use your Arc Beam, I say. Blaze:Why should I listen to what YOU have to say. You made me this..this monstrosity! To me, you are a bug. Arc Beam THIS! Blaze lifted his arms up to chest level, focusing his energies between them into the space before his chest. As the energy focus completed, a large blue-white beam soared out, freezing Vladimir in his cry of anguish, then melting the ice statue completely. Suddenly, the compound began to shake and crumble...
6. Fox managed to take his eyes off of Siren and to stop his chat with Ryoko. He walked out of the hut to feel the clean, crisp night air. On his way out, he saw tears in the high-elf's eyes. Once again, the ring on his finger began to glow and burn. He noticed that the elf, too, had a silver ring on the same finger: the left ring finger. He stopped walking outside, and his eyes met hers. Her emerald gaze was the same as his own. He gasped. Fox:Madame, i...is your n...name D...Deedlit? Deedlit:Y..yes it is. And yours....is it F...ox? Fox:Mother! Deedlit:Fox! Dear God, I thought I'd never see you again! Fox:And I thought I'd live on through the end of this earth without ever knowing my mother's warming love. deedlit:Just one question, Fox. Did you mean what you said earlier to Ryoko? About being tucked in and rocked to sleep and such? Fox stared uncertainly about the room, noticing the kind laughter behind everyone's eyes. He blushed as he spoke his next words from his mother's embrace. Fox:Well...yes. But I did forget to add that I wanted to hear the lullaby from my dreams, the one from my childhood, the one that you always sang to me before...before Rhita Gawr decided to steal me from you, decided to try to make me evil. But he failed, mother, and I am still your son! I love you, mother.
7. Fox was carefully sipping his hot tea as he saw Siren walk in. The cup fell to the floor, shattering. His heart skipped several beats, and he allowed his wings to unfurl from his back. He heard the high-elf woman behind him suck in her breath. He vaguely wondered why she did that as he felt his ring glow hot. He shook his hand, hearing the elf gasp again. He looked to Siren and felt his heart stop again. he was falling in love in a more-than-sensible way. He didn't care, but he decided not to speak as he felt the Icari poring over his wings, amazed that someone else had wings. Deedlit(To herself):My son had wings. Emerald, glowing wings! This has to be him! But... but how can I tell him? He probably doesn't even want to see me. He probably doe- Suddenly, she caught the tears in Fox's eyes as he spoke to Ryoko. Ryoko(telepathically):Why are you so sad all the time? Fox:I lost my parents long ago. I remember their names, but not what they looked like. Parn and Deedlit. Alas, I want my mother so badly. Even though I am an adult, I still long to be rocked to sleep by her soft voice as I never was. To be tucked into my bed, to be held close as I cry over a lost valuable. I want my mother so much, Ryoko!
8. Delita unwillingly rushed into the courtyard, where Lacroix was attempting to bring down the cast-iron gate. just as the gate fell to the ground, lacroix burst through, his scimitars flashing furiously in the firelight caused by an errant fire arrow. Lacroix stared at the metal being in front of him, failing to recognize the emerald-glowing eyes. Lacroix:WHERE IS BLAZE?!?! Delita simply raised his blade-arm as Ryuu, looking like Eve, walked through the gate. Delita faltered in his attack on Lacroix seeing what he thought was his sister. Lacroix took that opportunity.
9. Vaughn felt Arianna's pain from far away and paused in his brutal attck on a Zaibach. he paused and vanished, appearing at Arianna's side as he felt her think his name thrice. He blushed as he saw her getting in the bath. He'd appeared right in front of her...
10. OOC:Umm....wrong kinda stats there. Well, i'll take this opportunity. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Artemis set off with the others, heading into the Haunted Mire. They trudged on and on for hours with no mayhap or mishap, except to pull their boots out of the occasional quicksand pool. Artemis suddenly looked out into the mire, seeing something wolfish there. Cornell dashed onto him, pinning him to the ground and biting him. Artemis blinked out of consciousness as Cornell saw who he was and bounded off again, smelling for his lost sister. the last thing Artemis saw was an inn about twelve feet away... He awoke. He was sitting upright in a bed, Misty asleep at his side. He looked down and found himself clotheless again, except for his longjohns. He looked to find his garb, and he saw it on a chair next to Misty's gear. He blushed furiously, trying to avoid peeking under the sheets to see if she really was dressed the same as he was at the time. he jumped out of bed, and it hit him. A wave of smells, scents, and aromas caressed and battered his sense of smell. At the same time, a blast of noises, sounds, voices, and harmonious music racked his hearing. He noticed that he was more accutely aware. He could see, smell, hear, feel, and even taste much better than before. He looked and found Cornell's bite marks. he'd become a man-beast. It was a full moon, though he did not change. He realized that he could change at will. He decided not to scare the others, not yet anyway. He looked back at Misty's peacefully sleeping form, and then looked out the window. He saw Asteroth and Ryan sparring with each other, and he decided to jump out and try his hand against them. Absently, a thought crossed his mind, one that clearly said "They're no match for me, but hey, why not spar and get them ready?". He smiled to himself as he kissed Misty one last time before jumping out the window, not realizing he'd awakened her.
11. OOC:So Mike didn't tell you that I never read your post up there, and that I tried NOT to call him those names, but he insisted. And lastly, I EDITED THE DAMN POST! ----------------------------------------- Blaze awoke, once again in a tube. He was getting pissed with all of these tubes. Then he remembered. What was he doing alive? He'd thrust a sword into his chest. He looked down. A sharp, cruel scar appeared just over his chest, but nothing else. not even a bit of pain. Then a familiar voice answered his silent question. Man:Yes! You are awake, and it is all thanks to the genius of myself, Doctor Vladimir Kasca. You gave me quite a fright, but you are awake now. Now, go and handle the intruders in the lobby to my compound. One of them broke down my gate, so I want you to show him your "special" punishment. Blaze's eyes began to glow evilly. He wrapped himself in the Guyver-like armor, his blade and shield fully out. He growled fiercely, obeying Vladimir with reluctance. Blaze:I AM DELITA!!
12. Artemis saw Misty and ryan. He felt not in the least intimidated. Behind Ryan stood Asteroth and Carrie. Artemis decided to risk something. His identity. Artemis:Good to see you, sir. Now, um... Misty, my dear, I don't believe you've met Asteroth. He is here to aid me in the destruction of Dracula. Carrie:What do you mean, aid YOU?!? You'd have to be the legendary Prince of Alarisia- Artemis finished the sentence for her. Artemis:Artemis Graves, beholder of the whip-sword-shield emblem on the back of the hand. He peeled back his gauntlet, revealing the Graves' legendary emblem of the Darius, the combination of a whip, a sword, and a shield. Misty began to tear up as she realized she was in love with the hero who would save all of mankind. That was what Death meant by "stank like a Graves", she thought. And no wonder he'd found Death himself as challenging a dormouse. She smiled as she wrapped her amrs around him. Ryan needed no incentive to realize that he, too, was going on this journey. They looked towards the Castlevania. Artemis:First, we pass through the Haunted Mire, then the Lake of Death, then the Misery Forest, and the final level of difficulty shall be the multiple towers and halls of Castlevania. Let us begin this quest!
13. OOC:Ok. Once again, I seem to have made people angry at me for being me. Well, here's a post that should make Mike at happy, at least. ----------------------------------------------- Blaze's mind turned away from his sister, and he realized he had no chance of being that way again. He'd been too.....mutated. He held up his blade, forcing the armor in his chest to vanish or move aside. he held the gleaming blade aloft for a scant second, giving one last apology to the wind to deliver to his dear sister... Blaze:I'm sorry I can't be at your wedding, my sister, and I dislike the fact that I must leave this world before my own. I am sorry, Eve. Hrrgh!!! His cry of pain as the blade pierced his chest, spilling his crimson blood to the floor, echoed within the chamber. He exhaled, his eyes glazing and his arm bent in a grotesque, disgusting way. He didn't inhale again... --------------------------------------------- OOC: Well, I'll only put a loophole on my death if both Phantom and MDE IM me and tell me too. I hate this. And yes, Phantom, it IS brotherly if the guy was JUST FRIGGIN' WOUNDED and he needs the wound AWAY FROM cloth, except his bandage. And when a brother is like a parent to his sister, they often are that close. Danni and I were that close without a single THOUGHT of relationship. That is, until she started worrying about your FRIGGIN jealousy and IT TORE ME APART that I was so much farther from the ONE PERSON I THOUGHT I COULD TRUST!
14. Umm...sorry, bro. Too late. Maybe in the sequel, and YES, there will be a sequel called Serenade of Illusion. Well, I'll get to that when Requiem is finished.
15. Artemis jumped into the trees he was at home in, letting Misty feel that she had some breathing room. It also would make any thieves believe that Misty was alone and unguarded, making her a prime target. To Artemis, that was a prime chance to gain information on Dracula's allies and foes. About twenty minutes into the journey , while Misty was humming the most beautiful song Artemis had ever heard, an all-too-familiar shadow appeared in the roadway. The sharp, rattling noise of its breath, the hooded black cloak, and the cruel, lethal scythe. It was Death himself. Having forgotten about Artemis, Misty screamed, but calmed down as Death pulled out a bell, ringing it once. Misty:What is tha- Death cut her off with the familiar rhyme. Death:Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee! You may be a king or a child street sweeper, but sooner or later you meet with the Reaper... He brandished his scythe, grinning maniacally at Misty, who screamed again. Suddenly, someone's strong grip taking her out of harm's way silenced the scream abruptly. She had time enough to see Artemis' arm trail blood as the sickle's point dragged across his arm. Artemis cried out, dashing backwards and letting Misty recuperate from the shock. He pulled out Alaris, wielding it at Death. He jumped into the air, cleaving the wind itself, splitting Death's scythe in half. Death growled evilly and vanished, leaving a message hanging in the gloom of the drizzly morning. Death:Urr! You shall pay, fool. You stank like a Graves in that fight, all the more interesting, for your name is where i shall take you before your quest ends! Artemis took the shivering Misty in his arms, whispering softly in her ear. Artemis:Shh. It's okay now. I'll protect you, I'm here. I won't leave you. Misty:Th....thank you. Artemis....I....I love you. the words had come out of their own accord, and before Artemis could think, he'd muttered a reply. Artemis:I love you, too, Misty. As the rain softened and faded, Artemis held Misty closer, drwing her nearer to him. As the first birds of the morning began to chirp, a more peaceful sound than had ever been chirped before, thought Artemis, he and Misty embraced each other and kissed, fully aware that the shopkeepers had seen the fight and the kiss...
16. Artemis stood, still wondering about her, and walked into the kitchen to see Carrie about to fix breakfast. He quickly walked over to the fire and pulled a pan from its hook over the drain basin. He cracked eight eggs into the pan, scrambling them nicely, then cooking them over the fire. After that, he plopped the eggs onto a wooden plate, leaving Carrie to be amazed at his use of spices and movements. He then turned and cracked two more eggs into the pan, frying them for himself. He looked to the pantry and found some hominy and bacon, and within an hour the wonderful aroma of bacon, eggs, and grits filled the house. Misty walked in to see Artemis setting the table and Carrie sitting at the table, looking at the man as if he were a wizard. Misty sat down, at which time Artemis set the food plates on the table and allowed the girls to help themselves. He stared outside at the falling rain, wishing he could dance with Misty for some reason. He shook his head, trying to rid himself of such thought and clear his mind, but his attempt was futile.
17. YES!!!!!!!!!! YES YOU CAN!!!!!
18. Vaughn turned and walked away, tears streaking his eyes. Arianna followed him as he entered his room. He laid down, falling asleep. She, too, fell asleep, unaware that he was merely in a restful trance. As she began the light breathing pattern of a sleeper, he awoke. He stood, dressing in his armor and dashing away after scribbling a note and leaving it on Arianna's vanity. Note:Dearest Arianna, I shall return to you when you wish me to be your lover. If ever you feel that you need me, can't live without me, then call my name three times. I will hear it, and with the magic of Firebrand within me, I will be at your side within three seconds. I love you, my dearest... Vaughn strapped on a rucksack, tears in his eyes. He walked out of the castle, transforming into his mech-form, Firebrand. As he walked, his clothes and equipment dematerialized into his body. He walked on, into the fading sunset. The rains began to drip down his cold Valkenium back, face, and chest as the storm moved in. He walked on and on, into the Zaibachian territory. He looked back, just once, to see the Palace of Souls in strong relief against the blackening sky. A tear fell from his now-emerald eye as the transformation from human to Valken ended....
19. Artemis awoke, Misty still sleeping peacefully. He stared at her, feeling someone, or someTHING, behind the door. he walked outside, sensing the presence of the legendary Asteroth. He dodged forward, avoiding the axe just by the skin of his teeth. He turned, seeing the almost playful smile in Asteroth's eyes. Asteroth:Yes. Indeed, you are as skilled as the prophecy portained. You, and only you, can outmatch me in skill, guile, and speed. Nothing besides can defeat Dracula. I pledge my allegiance to you. I see you are busy with the chores of this household. I suppose I shall either sleep outdoors or in the inn. Artemis:As for your allegiance, I accept it heartily. By the bone chips on your axe,I see that you rid the village of those small Skeletoris, though the gargantuan one bewitched by Alucard was my trophy. As for the question of where you will sleep this unholy night, I advise thee bed down in the inn not three miles from here. I bid thee good night friend Asteroth. As Asteroth walked away towards the inn, vowing to return to Artemis' side when the quest truly began, Artemis turned and saw Misty awake, wondering at why the roof wasn't leaking as it usually did, why the fire was burning for she'd never gotten wood for the wood box, and why there was water in the water urn by the door. She then turned to the door to see the muscular figure of Artemis standing in the rain. Her eyes met his, and he felt something he hadn't felt before. Artemis(thinking):Why do I feel this way around her? What's wrong with me? Is this what mom called love? If it is, then it's a good thing the church declared me an adult by age fifteen. I... yes. She'd make a nice wife, if she would have me for a husband. Ih, what am I thinking? She'd never like me, the demonic human cursed to destroy Dracula. Alas. Maybe she would like me, but I'd better not be too hopeful... As he was thinking this, Misty was dragging him inside to warm up by the fire. Artemis wondered what she was thinking...
20. Artemis struggled awake, his arm limp. He sat up, his head raging with a headache. Artemis looked around. He was in a humble cottage, far off in the forest. Artemis stood, seeing a portrait of a lovely woman on the wall. He stared at it for a while, his heart pounding furiously. He shook his head, clearing it, and heard soft breathing on the floor. Laying down on a mat, a young woman, the one from the portrait, breathed gently underneath a thin silken sheet. He saw a set of scanty clothes on the floor next to her, and he blushed extremely heavily. He looked around, getting an idea for her help in healing his bruised body. By his adept mind, he judged the time he was asleep about four days. He walked outside, grabbing the hatchet in the chopping block. He walked over to the forest, cutting a tree down, then shearing it into lumber with help from his Mars/Thunderbird DSS cards, allowing his blade to be extremely sharp and accurate. Artemis lugged the blocks back, filling the empty wood box with them. He then trudged out to the river, catching four redfish for supper. As he walked back, he grabbed a small bucket and filled the water urn outside the door, providing water for about three weeks. He hoped he'd done all the chores correctly, then he found he'd forgotten one thing. He rushed back out the door, shearing the remains of the tree he'd chopped earlier into fine thatching. He focused his energy, buckled his knees, and jumped onto the roof, landing with the lightest puff of air. He began rethatching the roof, having noticed the rain coming on and the roof badly in need of repair. He leaped down, his body tired after the three hours of work he'd just pulled off. he found himself looking at the girl again, and underneath her portrait was the name Misty Renarde. He smiled, thinking that it was a nice name. He climbed back in bed after scribbling a note for Misty, explaining that he'd done the chores. He tied a blue bandana on his sore arm, then laid down on the bed. Almost instantly, he was overcome by sleep and dreams of a beautiful girl named Misty Renarde...

He wishes with all his might to acquire skills enough to follow in his father's footsteps, and until he does he will not return home, as he swore to his uncle that he would.
22. Artemis dashed into the village where he lived. He ran into his house to gather his things. He smelled smoke from nowhere, and raised his eyes when he was done collecting his artifacts. His eyes beheld a scene of true horror. The village that had long since stood in the shadows of Castlevania Range now burned as if it were Hell itself. Artemis clutched his whip as he heard words echo, words that had echoed long ago in the same village. Cornell(from outside):ADA! ADA! ADAAAAA!!!!! Artemis ran outside, seeing a man-wolf dashing into the forest towards the Vania Lake's dock, where the servant of the dead, the ferryman Charon, was waiting to bring many hopeful Hunters to their deaths at Castlevania. Artemis silently wished the man-wolf luck, only to turn and see a huge skeleton hunching over like an ape, preparing to kill Artemis with its giant bone club. Artemis dodged the attack with a back-flip, rolling backwards as he landed to get more distance between him and the Skeletoris. He pulled out his whip. Suddenly, a shadow loomed out after the Skeletoris. The vampiric face of Alucard appeared beside the beast, holding it at bay. Artemis:Alucard! Help me! Once again, you are needed to aid in the destruction of your father! Alucard:HA! Artemis, you are well skilled. I see you learned the techniques of all the Belmonts, as did your trainer Nathan Graves. So, boy, will you test them against Skeletoris? FIGHT! Alucard disappeared, and the demon let out a rattling roar. The club swooped down onto Artemis, knocking him into a stone wall. Suddenly, Artemis' anger flowed into his whip, and he began to chant in the ancient forgotten language of the True Hunter. Artemis:Geddus hiejiu, geddus kala, elkia karan felnior Morning Star. Whlipa dearia ferikas nej Akimajou Dracula! His whip began to glow, and Artemis began chanting in English the selfsame words he'd chanted in a language he'd never heard a word of. Artemis:Gods of power, gods of might, grant me the Morning Star light. An evil arisen must now in Hell sing. My whip shall kill the Vampire King! He jumped into the air, his whip glowing, altering into a long beam of golden light. It had become the Vampire Killer, the ultimate whip for a Hunter to carry, one that only a True hunter could carry without death. Artemis swung the Killer into the Skeletoris, destroying its legs rapidly by decay. It fell to the ground, crawling towards him slowly, but surely. It raised the club again, preparing a final strike. Artemis spun his whip in a circular motion, cutting the beast to shreds. Artemis fell to the ground, his foe conquered, and began to sleep, visions of his mother's death haunting him violently. He'd no idea that he'd awaken in the hut of a young woman named Misty Renarde...
23. Artemis' sixteenth birthday was a cause for celebration. He'd recieved his grandfather's whip and sword, including the armor and DSS cards. He stared across the Vania Lake, wistfully looking at Castlevania, the legendary location of Dracula. Artemis clenched his fist, looking on with remorse in his eyes. Suddenly, a memory fell upon him... Nine years earlier... Nathan:Artie, you must take up my whip! If Dracula is allowed to rise again, we shall all suffer great pains! He must not be allowed to rise, for the great Belmont family has fallen, letting the burden of his destruction to us, the Graves family. NOW FIGHT ME! Seven-year-old Artemis felt the sting of the Hunter Whip many times . His cuts and gashes from the blasted thing numbered a thousand times a thousand. But he knew that on his sixteenth birthday, his destiny would call him... A shriek pierced the sky, bringing Artemis to his senses. A Harpy held his mother, ripping her throat out. Nathan Graves, well over ninety, had died years earlie, leaving Artemis' training complete, but not Artemis' life. With Artemis' mother dead, he was alone. He drew out his whip, killing the beast in one fell attack. He looked out to the crumbled castle, only to see thaqt it was crumbled no more... Alucard Fahrenheit Tepes awoke in his coffin. He felt his father's encroaching evil within his heart, and he let out one telepathic call for help to all the Vampire Hunters chosen by destiny before the evil took him over. Strangely, his father had gained power over a Belmont. He gasped as he felt the evils rise within him. He saw, in the corner of his mind, the opponent that would release him from his curse. Artemis was angry...
24. Well, well, well. We have a mod in our midst. I humbly accept thine offer with the knowledge (Hell, Resident Evil was a damn good RPG) that my Castlevania will, pardon the expression, kick serious arse. I thank thee all for trying out. The RPG shall soon begin. Here are the great Hunters (and Huntees, for Arikel). Myself Lady Asphyxia DarkOrderKnight Panni Chan;) SS Trunks James And lastly, the Hunter-turned-Villain, Arikel
25. Fox dreamt... Fox fought valiantly, leaping over an errant axe swung by an ogre. He fought brilliantly to get to a winged figure in the distance, one with a feminine face. She was in pain. Fox:SIREN! I'll come back to you! I WILL SAVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!! Suddenly, an axe swung by an ogre caught Fox... Fox awoke, sweating. He knew not the meaning of the dream. He looked down and found a high-elf sleeping on a mat next to him.
